At least allow The Dreamer to revert back to the pure rainbow, then give it footprints, but I expect none of this, so just ignore me ;D
Personally anything that can be considered negative gets ignored in my opinion, but one can hope.
Just means it’s completely random, even if you bought 100 keys you very well may not get what you want.
There is a reason why ANet has done this a second time, it makes them money and with that in mind, I’m fine with it. You cannot regulate stupidity, if people are going to do this, power to them and good luck.
Obviously it was a massive nerf and how it was re-balanced was a nerf in itself.
Using RNG+Gambling in your practice is pretty shady, but it’s a business. I do not blame them for using their player base psyche against them, I would do the same.
Ranger lol..
Lol yeah, no.
@KensaiZen – That is by far, the most shortsighted, tunnel visioned, self-opinionated post I have ever read. So you’re perfectly fine if a pet dies, that you said does 30% of your rangers damage, I can see why you’re not fixated on damage because it’s already low in my eyes. Just because rangers complete dungeons, doesn’t mean it’s easier on the group as a whole, it means you where carried. If you’re going to do a L2P post, at least avoid rangers in dungeons altogether.
At this current time it wont happen, but it will happen in the future. The money gained from it is simply irresistible. Take WoW for example.
If you played early, CoF+Orr events where very tame compared to TA rushes. A boss you could afk and still kill. It is unfair, but it is how it is.
The Dreamer needs footprints, maybe a glow effect and the ability to revert the unicorn clip art changes back to the original rainbow effect. It’s simply outclassed by most legendary weapons.
You already need ~250/220-250 obsidian shards for a legendary,
200/130-150 skill points as well. I believe this would be a step in the wrong direction, adding more grind. I also believe dungeon tokens would be to easy to get, but a strain for people who don’t like dungeons in general.
I think dailies are a mistake, weeklies/monthlies on the other hand, absolutely fine with.
They talk about all the bugs necros have
they talk about engineers for like 10 minutes
they talk about eles and the nerfs they need
they talk about mesmers at lengthThey get to rangers…and spend 1 minute talking about how pets in fractals will benefit from your agony resistance…and how great sword needs a buff.
WHAT ABOUT SPIRITS
WHAT ABOUT LONG BOW
WHAT ABOUT OFFHAND AXE
WHAT ABOUT PET PATHING
WHAT ABOUT PET ABILITY DELAY
WHAT ABOUT THAT kitten SB NERF THAT WAS A “GRAPHIC FIX”The state of the game today was nothing but proof that they don’t care about Rangers at all…
They buffed offhand axe before and I think, at least, it’s awesome in PvE since I had already been using it in nearly every dungeon. I do agree that GS needs a boost in DPS and I’m really happy to hear that.
Keep in mind that just because they ran out of time in this talk doesn’t mean they aren’t working on it. Ranger pet mechanics is a complicated, difficult issue and it’s just fine that it isn’t always discussed.
Everyone: relax!
Big ranger change 1: BIG nerf to our ONLY good damage weapon, the short bow. They said it wasn’t even a buff.
Big ranger change 2: GS gets buffed…….a weapon NOBODY was asking to get buffed
Big ranger change 3: Now we get GS buffed again, and pet agony resistance?
Sorry, but they’re totally ignoring rangers. I mean TOTALLY! Not only do they skip us in EVERY patch, but they refuse to ever talk about us. We’ve been saying “relax” for 7 months now and it’s STILL not fixed…..so no, we shouldn’t relax. We should all roll Ele, Anet obviously wants us to play them.
This isn’t true at all, the two weapons complained about the most are Longbow and Greatsword, with the exception of the Sword root bug. I think it makes perfect sense for Anet to be buffing the Greatsword.
He isn’t wrong, the two most complained about weapons where long bow and short bow, short bow due to being nerfed and long bow because it was always sub-par. Buffing the greatsword isn’t helping the class as a whole, we’re supposedly the long range specialists, I didn’t know greatsword was range.
That video was rather embarrassing … Can see why rangers are how they are right now.
Personally we really should have precursors purchasable from the vendor or through a quest-line. I know people are going to cry fowl that they can’t make their hundreds of gold flipping them on the market, but the fact of the matter is precursors were implemented in one of the worst ways ever and ANET needs to correct that. If you a person that spent a fortune on one well that’s too bad. Think about the guys that sold precursors for 35gold? ANET didn’t refund them so get over yourselves. Do I think they need to remove precursors and legendaries from the market? Absolutely not.
Very easy to say all of this as a player, but in their position it’s a completely different. These are the kinds of reactions that ANet wants to avoid.
Keep all your materials, crafting is great experience for when you level.
Or any counter, because at this point the only thing we can do is aoe blindly and hope it hits, that is silly. In other games any damage inflicted to the stealth player is instantly removed, unlike in GW2 culling shows it’s ugly mush and they stay invisible regardless. But thieves rely so heavily on stealth anything done to it could really hurt, in this regardless nothing will happen to it, oh well.
The design is laughable, I cannot even believe people would pay money, or even gold for it. But they might, so power to them.
And including footsteps to The Dreamer, also give an option to fully remove the unicorn effect and use the old rainbow. Because that was a huge change to something a lot of people worked hard for.
If they allow a stealth reveal, I deserve a button that auto kills any ranger pet. You know, because once the ranger has a pet it is entirely in their control…. It is a prof mechanic, there are counters and ways to track a stealthed player. Big no to stealth reveal unless it is something crafty like being within 130 units of an enemy you get a faded outline of them (still non-targetable) or increasing time between stealth but also increasing stealth time (so longer stealths, but you are visible for longer as the trade off when you exit).
Because killing a big 40% of rangers dps because stealth is over powered makes sense?
The damage has been done. I don’t think some classes where actually understood by the makers to begin with and some where and it shows. Also the cardinal rule was broken incredibly early, if you nerf a class, you need to buff them in another area.
No skills, less health then there already is, this coming from a WvW perspective, lol. I’m sorry but downed state is perfectly fine, specially in WvW. The only thing changeable about downed state is everyone having defaulted skills, so it’s not unfair to everyone.
Simplest solution you cant go in to stealth when your in combat.
This. My big issue with stealth other then there is no counter, that a thief can dictate everything and isn’t forced to commit to a fight.
Their shouldn’t be a precursor market. If legendaries where only a skin it would be different but given that they are also a stat boost obtaining them shouldn’t be random or cost huge amounts of in game currency
It would only be different if ascended weapons weren’t coming out for 2+ months and legendaries got buffed to ascended rating early.
Precursor market or not, if you severely cut the rarity of them so suddenly people who paid full price would be outraged, I would be for them. I do not like how precursor is decided by RNG, but a lot of things are decided by RNG in GW2.
This would ruin the precursor market, there should be more ways to obtain it, but this isn’t one of them.
Any time soon, no. But I don’t see why they would not, the amount of money it could generate is irresistible. Just reset story mode.
Trahearne sums up why the personal story is awful. I never felt like the personal story was about me, it was about him. He has little to no personality and seems to have a way of soaking up the credit like a sponge.
I’m sure we’d have a lot of people complaining that they spent a ton of money on cultural armour and they didn’t realize they wouldn’t be able to equip it xD
And those peoples opinions wouldn’t hold much weight in the grand scheme of things. There should be warnings before hand, but ultimately if you ever thought this was possible and you would do it, you wouldn’t have invested so heavily in cultural armor.
To get your legendary you don’t really need to do much in WvW, period. This would be completely different if precursor or something major was WvW only
1-2, eh, it holds some weight, hence why loot was increased in WvW recently, but 3 is ridiculous, as you said it’s a PvP area.
Thanks it was the there. Take the deadend way point go into the cave and enter the portal for the chamber of secerts. Thanks agian.
Congratulations.
It’s completely separate.
You’re most likely missing the cave POI, I think it’s in bloodtide coast. Someone will remember it, but it’s usually what everyone misses.
“Let’s start with how excited we are to get this patch out. We are really psyched to deliver this content to player and especially the WvW community. So there are two main priorities with this patch: the first is to eliminate Culling, the second is to add in WvW progression for players. The progression allows us to let players feel a sense of advancement past level 80. Also we want to give players some achievements beyond just regular character advancement.”
Coming this month.
hmmm what about racial armors, what will happen to that item when you race change?
(if its implemented)
It changes to what you race changed to, while it’s not ideal, It’d make serious money for them and you at least get some compensation, if you had plans to race switch in the future, It was a rather daft idea to have bought that specific racial armor. Just my grasp of it.
Levelling in GW2 is already easy, this would be over kill.
At this current time, no. But in the future I would be surprised if it didn’t, the amount of money that can be made by it is irresistible
At this current time, it will not happen. But It’s only time, the amount of money it could make is irresistible
I totally agree, I got it very early. I’m not like most, I think the weapon itself is fantastic, but the clip art unicorn that was added was just, insulting.
Imagine if you bought the dreamer, which had an amazing rainbow you really liked, then they made it a clip art unicorn that looks like a pre-preschooler drew it and that is a legendary!
I understand what you mean for the most part, It would be nice if they could revert major changes to certain items.
Yeah, tell me about it. No way my Norn thief is gonna strap that crap to his back. Much less shoot it (eee eee ee eee ee ee). He’d be laughed out of every moot for the rest of his life. His only Legend would be as a laughing stock. Bad enuff when it was just the rainbow.
I didn’t mind the rainbow, I thought it was subtle and amazing in its own way, specially in WvW if you died to it. Now it’s gone to far, whoever designed that unicorn should be ashamed.

I don’t have a problem with RNG to be honest, but I do not like RNG+DR. They work really bad together.
A developer has already said this wont happen, didn’t give a solid reason, but I can see the issues. But I’m sure they will eventually bring it in due to the amount of money it could make.
Possibly we need to relabel as serious hardcore and very casual with a massive gap in between. How long people play is not just their business if they have played excessively and want more content to feed this playstyle and rewards only this play time can give, whilst maybe the game would be better with bug fixes instead and a balance for all the players to enjoy. To explain between September the 28th and February the 28th there are exactly 3696 hours and many people will have spent half or more of that in game.
This excessive fast consumption is not needed to drive this game. Dont get me wrong very casual players who play 10 hours a week or less amassing 220 hours will not be enough to keep the games population at an enjoyable level but there is a huge area in between where I suspect most players fall.
Players who keep mentioning other mmos from other times forget the market is much more different now. MMOS need to cater for a wider audience as long as there are so many of them out there. Back in the day competition was between a more dedicated type audience when it was maybe EQ versus Ultima versus AC but this was long before WoW, DDO, LOTR, AoC, GW, TSW, RIFTS, SWTOR, Aion and so on and so forth.
So if you want a game to succeed today it isnt the hardcore thats making this work its the inbetween players, neither hardcore or casual (as we consider each of those categories right now).
Casual players are just as worse for the games future, to say hardcore players alone is just blasphemous. I’ve done pretty much everything the game has to offer, closer to hardcore then casual, but even then that’s not much of an accomplishment. Casual players are quick to judge hardcore players who complain about lack of content, when they’re happy for the bare minimum. Yes hardcore players aren’t doing themselves a favor being so adamant about the situation, but is it that much of an issue that they want more from a game that is just giving bare minimum to suit the masses?
Hardcore players are actually less of a problem then casual players. The casual players I know don’t care about content because they aren’t around long enough to see it all. Hardcore players want content because the current game content is actually incredibly lacking when you look at it.
You sure it isn’t some sort of visual bug? I’m not ingame to test it out, but there is no notation regarding such a change in the forum:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/news/Game-Update-Notes-February-21-2013/first#post1483447
I’ve tried AoE near 5 people, although yes it’s completely random and rarely works how I plan it to, it never goes past 2 targets, personally.
I didn’t expect a novice guild be able to do guild quests, but level 5 for the first one? Are you serious? This kills small guilds.
I actually really like this idea, it doesn’t effect PvE, but it effects WvW in a positive way. People complain that there is no real counter to stealth, this brings a counter to it and it also brings an interesting twist.
You cannot trust the player base to make these decisions, maybe this would be nice way for the developers to see what the player base wants and maybe sway them in that direction, but ultimately it has to be the developers decision.
