Having these weapons put into the game when almost nobody asked or wanted these is just such a bad idea it’s not even funny, the only players that this is geared towards is the people that ONLY do the very high level fractals, so let’s just say 40+ fractal levels, apart from that…they’re absolutely pointless and not needed in the slightest.
Completely personal opinion and don’t act like you know what the player base wants, especially since we all knew all ascended pieces would eventually be introduced, if this really bothered you, you would have quit when the initial ascended gear came into the game months ago.
A lot of people on this thread needs to think if they actually want to play the MMO genre in general, not just GW2. The same people who are acting like ANet is bringing out WoW gear grind where you need to get best in slot gear pre-raid, then raid multiple times per week, just to get DKP, with the chance that said item will drop, if you have the DKP to even get it, when in fact it may not drop period. MMO’s are grinds if you hadn’t found that out before GW2 you have now and there are way more bothersome issues GW2 has then this. I refuse to believe people who complain about grind in GW2 have played ANY other MMO.
It has brought out the design flaws, sure. The reason people farm champions is that win or lose, they get more money and the reward for failing(which isn’t good even if you succeed anyway). Not only that, but there is absolutely no end game in GW2 other then making gold for skins. People complaining need to look at the bigger picture and notice why GW2 is failing in certain areas, you cannot dictate how someone plays, nerfing every area you can make money from causes them to go elsewhere hence people are champion farming.
I’m more sick of people with reroll as an excuse to derail the threads then them being made to begin with. On the contrary, these threads are pointless because no matter what they say this will happen, It’s only a matter of time. It’s just to profitable to not do.
I’ve been confused by Eternity for a long time. When I think of the rarest skin in GW2 I think of Eternity, but It’s inferior to both its precursors. Legendary weapons being so expensive as they are yet, still double. I’m sure they had good ideas for the weapon. Yet even a year into GW2 It’s still avoided completely and with new legendary weapons being made, it shows how badly it has been ignored.
And I’m saying it bothers me to see tasteless things in a game I enjoy the style of.
I’ll usually be with you when it comes to this, but in this case I will not. You act like GW2 doesn’t already have side cleavage and It even has under boob, what is more tasteless then that? In all my time of playing Aion I have never seen THAT.
+1
The money made from this will outweigh any of the problems. Even if it’s 2,000 gems, complete story, story gets reset completely and no story rewards for secondary completion, It doesn’t really matter because it’ll still be extremely successful.
Eternity is by far the most needed improvements for. Two legendary weapons in one and inferior to BOTH legendary weapons you needed to make it.
What I have learnt about MMO’s is that you cannot dictate how players play the game. ANet has done that to the fullest. Making money is fun to me, yet I feel punished doing it for multiple reasons. Living story is hurting GW2 for the very reason why it’s unique, It’s temporary content. Temporary content is no way bad, when used right, but in GW2 I feel none of it is special because it’s all that is being offered.
I came here for WvW and It’s been a very big disappointment. Unlike other games, like one of my old favorites, Warhammer Online, I was scared to die, the long run back, the fact that if you did die and the group had to retreat, you could very well be killed again on the way to your group due to smaller tactical zerg groups. In GW2 you’re nudged into the big zerg, in which you have a big chance to be resurrected, revived when downed or if their zerg is bigger you’re more likely going to meet up regardless. I don’t care about dying in GW2 which makes it far less exciting.
I really like GW2 and some of the directions it’s going, but I think if anything, the players are disappointed in ANet.
I meet that criteria, why didn’t I get freebies?
Try logging or clearing mail.
Still nothing, maybe they haven’t sent to everyone yet.
I meet that criteria, why didn’t I get freebies?
Lesson learnt I hope.
I’m sick of these posts, they’ve done it MULTIPLE times before and OP, do you seriously think they’ll make nearly as much as they do now with gambling boxes? absolutely not.
GW2 will live and die by temporary content. I agree with OP in the sense that GW2 could be so much more, but still completely worth the money three times over. I also agree with some other people saying if you’ve spent that much time on GW2, maybe you are burnt out. I’m taking GW2 like a casual game, play it for the quick dailies, if I want to continue to play, that’s cool, if not, play another game.
I would stop posting pictures with peoples names, calling out players on the forum isn’t very smart – Regardless, another product that wasn’t tested before hand, e-h.
Saw someone mentioning, that clearing the browser cache of the ingame browser “Awesomium” fixed this problem. Hopefully Google will provide you with a guide on how to do that.
Thanks.
Still having this issue.
The BLTC is down, I cannot see my gems(Although I have none), I cannot see any of the tabs, no new items, no old items, nothing. This has been happening for 2 weeks, anyone else have this issue? I cannot even buy gems ._.
It always has been low.
I have similar issues, the gems are blurred out(I have none, but I find it weird) and I cannot even VIEW anything on the TC – Buying/selling on the TP is working as usual though.
I’m in the same boat, but people say they can see my star, just when I target myself I cannot see it.
150 laurels = 598 gold? seems legit. I’m sorry but this is a necessary evil right now and this would be impossible to implement without destroying the precursor market.
What market? There are maybe 4-7 precursors of each type up for sale at the moment. That’s not a market, that’s lucky sods playing king.
Sadly it’s still a market, especially when people buy them, else this would be easy to fix, right?

Depends on the hours you play. I’m in Australia, but I tend to play mornings sometimes and late night other times, so I chose Tarnished Coast as my server. I don’t really play during the late afternoon early evening. Enough Aussies in the guild to keep me playing anyway.
This is exactly my situation, I also heard there was another oceanic guild transferring last night, so TC is rather solid too, but I expect all servers to have a good amount.
Lets bring more online gambling to gw2!
It’s pretty obvious, people will splurge on keys because it’s 20% off, they will feel compelled to use them, a little while later cut the discount price and add new skins, even more enticing people to buy MORE keys.
Make mounts 33% movement speed equal to swiftness, the mount lovers get their mounts, the people against it don’t feel too bad about the situation and all in all it’s purely cosmetic.
i don’t believe that 5,000 pet range is the issue, nor is pet DPS. this is the pet class, pets should be versatile & dangerous.
Yet you’re proposing to nerf them into the ground not to mention that one statement completely destroyed your entire post. I don’t think pets are the problem, I think rangers in general are almost useless -without- the pet making the pet way to important. If you went onto saying increase the rangers killing ability, while nerfing pet damage you may have a better point, but that alone is by far one of the worse ideas I have ever seen on the forum about the ranger class.
I disagree, I think it does in part include lack of permanent content. Just as much temporary content has been added then permanent content and In such an early MMO, this is killing it. I am in no way saying temporary content is bad, but so early when the game actually has somewhat limited content to begin with, It’s not helping the situation. I want to do the halloween dungeon again, I really enjoyed it, next halloween maybe? while I get involved with another MMO and decide to stay? we all forget how volatile MMO gamers are.
I hate leveling and I’ve leveled 2 characters with crafting alone but this is an awful idea. If you really wanted to spend that amount of money on GW2 you can easily craft to a high level or even straight to 80 with the same amount paid. GW2 is simply to easy to level as is.
I lost interest when he usually dies within 30 seconds of spawning.
I’m possibly interested.
But fixes only.
Nerf evaded
This, I don’t care for buffs, I just don’t want the inevitable nerfs.
problem is: if you are tired of your char warrior with LEGENDARY on his hand and want to have a silvary or asura with that LEGENDARY or limited items stay the same then 800g or 1k gems to change race mean nothing. you saved XXX gold and time to make another legendary for your asura/norn.
dont just talk about minor stuff and forget the big things.
Transmute the look of your legendary on to an account bound white item of the same type. Transmute that on to an exotic with your new main and you’re done. All for the low cost of two transmutation crystals.
You’re still boned on the cultural armor though.
Also not an answer, you’ll lose the legendary status and if it’s ever upgraded with the ascended weapons, sorry, you’re also boned.
As said above, deleting your character and remaking it is not the answer, specially not for someone who has a legendary or just doesn’t have the patience nor time and would rather spend money/gold on gems and do it that way. I’m rather confused why this isn’t an option to begin with, simply erase story progression to default. If you have an issue with that, simply do not do it.
There is no way, other then buying 3 name change tickets and sadly I do not think it will ever be possible.
Many of those players that get wrecked may feel anger and frustration for being used this way without their prior consent … and yet there has never been outrage against these types of video makers. What gives?
Maybe because there isn’t actually that many people doing them? I find this rather irrelevant because the video was rather awkward. Having a video with their name blanked out, permission without mentioning who it is and giving tips on what that player CAN do better next time/specs/ect is perfectly fine and a good idea, but trashing them into the ground and laughing point blank at their play is wrong.
How can they not afford this would be a far better question.
Being able to heal, yes, I said it, trinity.
I absolutely love the idea of +1 +2 +3 ect gear, but it also doesn’t work well. Take Neverwinter for example, GW2 has done a great job keeping everyone level playing field and easier to get to such said position.
In no way shape or form should you get progression towards your legendary with achievement points, it makes it less valuable, less unique and less special. Achievement gear, or things that are just show and tell, sure, I like the idea. But adding legendary items for achievement points, lol just no. But for the most part Meluna is right, with the amount of currencies we have now and we’ll probably get, this would be just annoying.
I’ve never complained about a restaurant and went back. If you’ve bought keys, to open boxes you’re part of the problem. While I agree that skins shouldn’t be decided by pure luck, a lot about GW2 is about luck. If it works, keep doing it, that is what they’re doing.
I do not like this idea because I think it’d take time away from designing instanced housing for everyone or guild housing. Catering to people with gold/gems seems iffy to me.
Of course they are, is it right? No. But a lot of gaming companies will do it.
I agree that allot of companies are doing simular stuff, but at least in western games ive never seen RNG tactics like this, concerning real money, and that imo is more then anything else exploiting the said demographic.
I personally have no problem with it, because at the end of the day GW2 is a product that needs to make money. My only problem with it is when people complain about this, they’re stone faced in light of the complaints, I find it bold and unsettling.
Of course they are, is it right? No. But a lot of gaming companies will do it.
There will more then likely be a negative attitude towards this, for multiple reasons. I don’t see the point personally of dividing the population and increasing more elitism then there already is. No MMO should do this, especially not GW2 which has absolutely no trinity. This would be a huge waste of time and resources.
The content that is added is no where near $15, add to that most of what is added is limited time only.
Don’t forget, this practice is a big reason why Tera crumbled. Sub+Heavy cash shop.
Well my experiance isn’t a legendary, but still similar. I found a precurser, and undercut the lowest seller by 1c. I spent 20g listing it, and now there is 3 listed lower then mine. I could of taken 75g less and sold it instantly to to highest buyer. If i could go back i’d of just sold it to the highest buyer, i’d like the $$ now, but i’m kinda forced to see how the market plays out, because i dont want to loose my 20g.
That’s what you get for undercutting by 1c.
Still 4 maps, thieves are still dominant, but not as dominant due to culling being removed(Although personally I’ve had more issues since culling was removed.)
There are still a fair few cheaters and yes, servers are still unbalanced, but not as bad.
Fractals was nice, on the 30th there will be a new dungeon, but ultimately the living story is a let down and cursed shore got nerfed grinding wise.
