I feel the crafting and gathering aspects of gw2 is severely lacking.
This game is very action based and a high paced game, but sometimes I would like to just slow down the pace with crafting and gathering.
I would like to see the process of creating something. From mining ores in the mines, process the ore and make into bars and then creating the armor afterwards.
For cooking, perhaps get wheat and make some flour with the many grinding mills. this would make locations worth visiting and most importantly memorable. I would go to queensdale for flour since it has so many farmfields and mills. This will make even higher lvl players to travel back to mid to low lvl areas and have something to do.
Have people go places to get materials and a place to process them – and a place to finally craft. have a little more people so you can see more people on the roads making this game seem to have more of a community.
perhaps material based maps such as mines and logging camps?.
There should also be fishing to expand the market and to increase cooking craftings.
the current system is you MUST go and explore to fight, explore to level, explore to find dungeons, and if you have nothing to do? EXPLORE. Now even if you want to craft – explore. Eventually there won’t be much to explore anymore. currently GW2 is a thick book of connect the dots where ppl rushing vista, poi, skill points to complete a map moving on to the next. Gathering is more like hide n seek and not really natural.
It just doesn’t feel right to so focus on exploration as a way of playing without a lasting appeal once finished/ explored / connected the dots.
there seems to be many many aspects of gw2 that seems unfinished with great potential to become amazing…
Yea i don’t get that either, But atleast they’re trying =s.

Brutalistik’s right. Anyways Ojikori, your build seems very interesting; hope you don;t mind me playing around or perhaps greatly changing that build. but it is definitely a nice base to work from ,thank you~.

Aren’t those what dogs and cat wear when the owners trying to prevent them from scratching or licking themselves?
the pictures after the forge daggers are the AC daggers. I heard from somone they obtained something similar in a tournament box thing. But not much details were given.
seriously no one knows where to find this elusive dagger?
seriously no one knows? =/
that skin? is a lvl 80 skin..
Anyone know how to obtain this item? http://imgur.com/a/VdvA4#78 without the effects or glow? It is not the AC daggers
Anyone know how to obtain this skin without the glow?
http://imgur.com/a/VdvA4#78 THis is not the AC daggers
well, is there a way to get a dagger skin like Forge dagger and not have it glow? I think this skin is one of the better skins out there. But ironically all the details have been covered by effects or one tone colours, which makes me cringe in disgust.
hm, Im going to forcibly make s/s with LB work.
Anyone know where and how to obtain it?
It is NOT the ascalonian Catacombs daggers since this one doesn’t glow. * the AC daggers are the ones after this in the gallery*
might as well use a tooth pick then since i refuse to use axe/bows/greatsword/warhorn.
and I don’t like rifles or maces.
everyone uses horns now with sword, so how is that different? With the YOJACKS build floating around..
its no fun without some self exploration now is there?
which weapons for a warriors gives most adrenaline? and why?
,thanks

I agree, med kits refinement skill – small explosion – is just as amazingly useful as necromancers jagged horrors.
At least jagged horrors sometimes confuse opponent targetting.
Oh, I didn’t know targets could get confused by it. I guess kit explosions are so completely useless it has its own standing.

However i disagree with everything else, med kits are fine the way they are, you just need more practice aiming. The skill req to be efficient healer is fun I think.
The juggernaut skill won;t work with elixer gun the feel should be completely different if they both have the same skill elixer won;t feel that agile and versatile anymore. Since people could just take / tank the dmg.

All my damage is no way comparable to my Warrior and without epic support options I feel useless in dungeons and fractals.
I watched a lot of fractal-vids on youtube lateley and just went “wtf” when I saw some damage-numbers popping up. Even these “underpowered” Rangers pull out 5k-6k longranged auto-aimed damage on longbow skill #2 with low cooldown. That doesn´t really make my rifle look good and even my grenade-barrage is worse on single targets.
We can have CC, condition removal and some survivability, but concerning damage and heals we are very limited compared to others.
This is why I always roll my eyes when people talk about Rifle’s amazing burst damage.
In PvP, it’s very hard to land. In PvE, it puts you into situations where you’re likely to go down. And at the end of the day it doesn’t matter because everyone else’s attacks have better modifiers and/pr their builds have room for big crits.
ANet really needs to improve the rifle’s damage. They also need to un-nerf the pistol. So long as kits don’t pick up weapon features, Engineers are reliant on their base weapons for the bulk of their damage. Right now those weapons are sub-par (pistol is not a great dps weapon compared to others and rifle’s damage is uninspiring when you really compare it to what other people’s skills can do).
Well, in another thread it was mentioned they are trying to apply sigils to work on kits as well as primary weps base dmg. if the rifle dmg is too high then grenades would be too op.
I am a primary rifle build myself and I agree the dmg really sux though.
I second this. Hammer or Mace would fit wonderfully.
How else are you supposed to assemble a turret whilst wielding a shotgun / pistols?
shooting bolts in is much faster than hammering them in.. But I agree engineers should have hammers to go with their wrenches kit. for a completely melee engi.
This doesn’t sounds like primary weapons may get a nerf and that is really bad for rifle only builds that uses rifles for their main source of dmg =(.
anyone have any suggestions on an over the top dmg s/s build with secondary longbow?
Im hoping to do well with wvw, and pvp
Then I rather a different sign to show the enemy than a backpack. My high tech asuran with a hiking hobo bag is a hugely off putting idea. Perhaps different things for different races. humans with backpacks and Asuran could have some tech etc. Would be nice if this applies to turrets as well.
What happend to take what you get and role with it? owning with w/e you have to create a good character? whocares if your guardian has less of an Hp pool than a necro. Does your guardian like slitting his own wrist everytime they do an attack too?
No? THATS the logic then.
with all jokes aside this is just another whine post to soften the wounds of a recent grimace lost and pride in the game.
Sorry I couldn’t apply the listed standards however this is an issue with something I don;t use an there is no way of showing.
The Pirate spear and harpoon gun in Lion’s Arch are switched. You would use the harpoon gun to spear stuff to death and you would shoot with a spear.
(The weapons the ghost pirate sells)
It tends to throw people off guard in underwater battle. ~
Thank you,

All I can say about Logan is that the guy should put some babies inside Queen Jennah, because shes not getting any younger and we need a heir, unless she plans on turning Kryta into a republic or something.
After that he can die or retire or whatever he wants.
what. …?
It doesn’t need a LFG system like wow because it needs a LFG system like every other mmorpg game.
or ..maybe not since there is hardly anyone on anyways.
what we need.. are spears, halberg, glaive, polearms. I would be infnitlely more happy.
an official RP server is a good idea solely to help gather all like minded players to a certain server, there will be rule breakers everywhere. But atleast now RP players won;t be alone and could actually find other RP players.
( not an RP player myself )
Disappointment and anger could be expressed differently or better yet, be expressed away from public forums or best kept to yourself.
Yes, so the developers will never know what is wrong and why a lot of people left the game, so let’s just all keep it to ourselfs and leave the game, and with that don’t give the developers the chance to work with feedback on what to improve.
Marvelouss idea, splended really
might be better to quote everything I said.
Good work deserve praise whether it is for pay or not, and a bad job is faced with disappointment.
However feedback and criticism given should be constructive, and should be given professionally. I have seen people on the forums saying they hate A-net due to a minor changes, not ever playing again due to something that they disliked. It is all very childish, the replies given by A-net so far are professional and should be responded the same for effective communications.
Disappointment and anger could be expressed differently or better yet, be expressed away from public forums or best kept to yourself.
Although some content A-net promised didn’t come or disappointed some people, logically that would not make sense to be done on purpose. So lets just leave that be and wait and see what they will do next. MMORPG or any business a community and company is should have mutual importance so no one is “more superior” for progression.
People should express themselves but we should also know when to draw the line.
Or else everything is going to end in a bad note. When one day A-net is going to ignore the community and make a complain thread and dump every complain in there and never reading them. Which would anger the community and GW2 dies. No one wins.

That would be hard to pick the exact look you would like. Due to it being ever changing, what happens if i look a devolved version of a weapon?
Your post has valuable points in it I do agree. But I think the problem is the Gem vs Gold Ratio in the store. The gold payout is so low from what the price of gems go for, compaired to the cost of special items. like recipes and such.
However in terms of ascended you just need more time, even a casual player would eventually get it. Its still not too far off difficult to get yet. However they are now on the borderline. Anything above ascended could become a problem, Now it is still very much skill based. To those that only have people with ascended gear join their party aren’t being reasonable anyways.
I think the real reason to get legendaries and those that have one most likely did not get them legitly do to the shopping list of Mats – Gold cost – Karma points – Skill points – 400 in Weaponsmith – Recipes.
So as it stands, based on the drop rate of the mats is so low, and it takes so many things to make one thing in crafting, it will take a long time to get all the stuff needed just for a legendary. The only reason why people seem to have a legendary is do to buying game gold from a third party seller. I guarntee they bought the gold to increase all above faster.
So if you want a legendary or ascended gear your only option is to buy from third party gold sellers? Kinda piss poor game design if you ask me. People with the bigger wallets get the best things.
What you are referring to is no longer about the game design. But how things work, no matter what you do or what game you play If you have a bigger wallet you will be more ahead. In this case GW2 Legendary weapons are mostly for boast and cosmetics, so even if you have a bigger wallet it doesn’t mean they are better.
Just think of the ones who bought third party gold for a legendary are also the ones that bears the knowledge of the guilt they didn’t do it legitimately and would never get the satisfaction of doing so anymore.
For ascended gear it is still on the borderline of causing too much of a ripple between raw stats and skills ( to a casual player ). It is still fine, but anymore above ascended would be too much. People who only let others with ascended to join their group are just people looking for similar people with just as much time and experience is all.

For some reason after intense fights in GW2 with many people such as the lost shore event or halloween events GW2 audio stops working and replaced by an annoying repeating whirring sound. This can only be fixed once I relog, I had to hear the annoying siren throughout the 3 hour lost shore event cause I didn’t want to log out and get left behind.
I still prefer Tengu, and Largos. Over Skritts..
if your character have no money to port when your dead it automatically uses money in your bank. If your character and bank ran out of money the closest way point to you would be free.
If rangers have rifles it would only be a choice. It would have things that will make it unique, however it is still a choice if people want to keep their characters all nature forest type. Why limit preferences?
Don’t think if this is even possible seeing how each characters " race/profession/story/ orders" are so deeply rooted with the things you do already. You don;t want Faren to be flirting with your male char now do you?
But then you might as well remove the engineer class.Ranger doesn’t need guns, leave it at that please.
I guess you need to remove guardians cause we have a warrior as well then.
Rangers should use weapon compatible to his profession. they have more melee than ranged weapons. They are resorting to throwing their greatswords …
regardless of tech/ magic a rifle should still be a viable option for a ranger besides that It makes sense to not limit themselves to having only 2 ranged weapons. Lore wise I don’t think a greatsword would suit a ranger at all. Having 2 kinds of bows is also redundant, if we have 2 kind of bows then we should have rifles, smg, rockets, snipers, shotguns….. But relieving this suggestion of exaggerations a simple rifle would suffice and I think would help greatly in terms of versatility and “build” of the ranger.
Largos as a playable race would be interesting with deep abyss maps.
Add a rifle, add warhorn as MAIN HAND and 1 – 5 attacks are pet commands for the pet to perform.
uuh what?
I’m using the Ranger from guild wars lore. The half druid, half warrior that can tame pets.
this ranger
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Rangerand this ranger
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/professions/ranger/
Is there a different one? All I see is they prefer long ranged attack, and their weapon of CHOICE is a bow. so with this lore logic, a rifle would make more sense than a greatsword, axe. right?
yes its not a hunter or a bowman. If you want to use Ranger to its fine term, or stereotype then they need to be wearing shorts a stash and would still be carrying a gun. If you want to go into extremes they can also make it into a powerranger with multi coloured representations of their afinities and do martial arts. .. and ride bikes.
