So far in my experiences of WvW :
I’ve seen warriors jumping off their castles into crowds slaughtering half a battalion,
A guadian defending a castle by himself with full vulnerability everytime we stun or condition him and 1 hit us with a hammer. We can hardly hurt this guy.
A mesmer with hp regenerating so fast im doing hardly any dmg to them.
A single thief clearing groups of zergs…
How are they doing it? I run with 4 others all lvl 80. We are new to WvW.
When the Boogeyman goes to sleep, he checks under his bed for an Engineer.
and this is after the engineer had his way with him the night before
anyone else want to verify this or is it just me/?

I somehow got into CE’s little fort without the event as well due to exploring over mountains while seeing many blocks of water below O_o.
If your pug team is so streamlined that losing a few seconds(couldn’t POSSIBLY be more than 2 minutes) to decreased DPS, then kick anyone with a luck sigil…
Seriously, if you are failing runs because people have MF gear as opposed to non, it is a skill issue, not a MF issue. The only thing MF gear does is lower DPS a tad. That is hardly leeching.

But removing MF won’t happen. That’s why I suggest to average the MF stat for all party members instead.

Mf gear still have stats that sustain enough dmg anyways, One would know if they are skilled enough to dodge and play.
MF is part of the game. The horrible drop rates and rewards justify this as some kind of balance.
lol if your serious, I would rather stick to golems, and using golems to make me go faster or other stuff instead of a norn. Perhaps a customizable personal golem where yu have a garage to build it parts. that would make asuran race have that much more depth. Other races can have different things too like norns can maintain and evolve mounts and creatures. Chars have their small mechanical tanks to build, Humans can have their encantations that makes them fly or meditations or w/e god descending powers. sylvari can have a garden to grow some plant like mobile device, like a dandylion seed or w/e..

perhaps a confirmation showing the stats of the armour you selected and asks if these are what you want? This could help a tiny bit I guess.

decreasing and increasing endurance regeneration makes ore sense. 4 dodges is waaaayy too cheap. Almost silly. * 2 is just enough, 3 is on the line* imo.
I used to use voicechat in games.. especailly on PS3. But then.. once Call of Duty modern warefare came out.. the obnoxious feedbacks, and baby sounds people are making.

Cosmetic mounts are entirely pointless. Minipets exist for the exact same reason.

As for mounts i find implementing them would be a smart move only, if they put a major twist to it, such as a mini game of some sortt hat allows you to travel great distances, etcetc. or something that is more.. befitting and probable.
This games armor is highly disapointing, i can tell it is made on a human template and then stretched to fit on asurans, norns, chars.. omg.. chars.. they look so soso bad with stretched gear. Check out the face masks., and helmet. Not to mention some overly tight pants, and armor.
servers does feel barren, but joining servers would only make populated places over crowded. Even if you transfer servers you will still feel like your in a single player game. Could mods do something about the OP? I find his answers irrelevant, unhelpful and reek with under developed livestock mentality.

would be pretty cool to get rid of bodies by burning them. for forced respawn, if the enemy want it too and if no one noticed them their team can res them.
great idea, would encourage people to go on roads and fun ambushes can be made available, different tactics can be made.if only wvw have thick woods and forests for guerilla warefare.
wow I didn’t even thought of mobile bases and flying towns etc, nice add ~ This would make the world feel more ;world like xD instead of just on the ground. There must have some kinda of docking in order to land though, or else people would just fly to where the vista’s are or cheat in a jumping puzzle.

That is strange on my other classes I don’t NEED to play RIGHT to be on par, also playing RIGHT is subjective I want to use what I want to use and still be viable to me THAT is what my playing right is . sadly that can’t happen for engineer as much as other classes.

Be 84 just thanks to a gemshop item (regadless of the player performance dealing the content) simply disgust me, confirming fun here is just for who paid orbs, or enough lucky to find them on a daily. Which is one per daily, if lucky, so let me doubt everyone of you was so lucky to have found nearly 100 orbs(50,52,54…64,66..76..84 etc every par level is a revive orb x 3 agony attack) by a daily , but instead sometimes an orb (8 at best to the luckiest), sometimes other method exposed on this thread. Aka cheat..cut the crap with your revive orbs pretending innocence, we both knows how many revive orbs are needed from 50 to 84 and what cheats works to reduce their use like the immortal corner with just one outside with a crystal to attack maw and run back while others are perfectly safe killing the next enemy for a new crystal, or the ‘resetting fractals until the group get the 3 easiest fractal to pass the level’ method, water fractal then moss jumping on tree/ under the bridge and asura fractal using exploits (ettin exploit, now fixed, prefight position of gems on 2nd boss, kite the boss around the tower while other dps the golems). That’s a cheat, bro
I blame Anet not fixing something so pathetic (cheats) and greedy (rev orbs bough on gemstore) to give players the fun. We are not on the same ground as you see. I don’t cheat, i go to 49 and accept i cannot physically go over. You didn’t, thanks to Anet lazyness to fix bugs/exploits.
Don’t enforce how you want to play on others~ Just getting to 80+ Rank is a grand feat of more than just time and or money investment. Nor do we care what disgust you or feel the need you need to share about it.
However I also heard at HIGH lvl fractals there is almost no getting away from revive orbs from guildies =/.

What? you tell me that let kohler and troll fight each others is an exploit?
It’s intentional. They are enemy, so they fight.
As I was saying, it’s not an exploit, but it’s a problem because most players I’ve been with aren’t doing this because they want double loot. They are doing this because they can’t seem to fight Kohler without dying 3 or 4 times.
And instead of learning, they resort to finding a way (well more like searching on websites) around it to minimize the risk that might make the run last longer.In Kohler’s case it might be faster to let the Troll kill it, that is unless your team wastes 5 minutes trying to get to 2 of them together.
Now whether some things are intentional or not, I really don’t know. Every exploits that involve jumping around makes me wonder “Why did they even bother to put this here ? It’s as if they wanted us to abuse it”. Same thing with monsters fighting each others. But once again, my main problem with that is that sometime, it slows that an encounter that shouldn’t need to be slowed down.
Experience is best for Kholer and that situation. It takes no more than 15 seconds to see if troll is there or not, Troll can only spawn in basically 2 spots in that room. Then depending on the path taken, the next event can be done quickly such as Path 1 and 2, allowing you time to come back and tag both troll and Kholer to grab both drops. IT’s effectively using your time instead of waiting (= boring) for their hp to drop. Once Kholer’s HP drops to 40%, time to attack both, I’ve never had them lose aggro.
Sometimes things happens due to the way the event is set up, take the King and Queen Slime boss event in CoF for example. Clearly, its states that they are oppressive rulers so getting the red slimes to fight them is clever use.
On the mail about AC it said the Ascalonian ghost are apparently keeping a greater evil in the tombs. So I thought monsters and ghost were never suppose to be friends to begin with. Which makes troll and kholer fighting completely viable. Also why move on the p1 – 2 when you can jsut range them to death and hide when kholer does his spin for faster kills?

I think with the 50% longer fear duration it is fine. Otherwise I just use fear to interrupt anyways so the time is irrelevant. it is still good enough to kite, or w/e you want to do with fear. IMO
And I would like to add that you should be able to log in as invisible rather than log in and then go invisible.
Yea, that would prevent people from believing you’ve blocked them.
I agree, when I want to passive play TP. I like to go invisible so my other friends and guildies won’t waste their time coming over to me or whisper me without an answer. Which eventually kitten them off.
Blows my mind how many engines seem incapable of hitting 1-5 while right clicking the mouse for free-camera and using WASD.
Same goes for this auto target kittening, try learning to lead your target … with skill.
edit: Mebbe pick up an FPS or two and practice not being newbs at action games, given that GW2 is pretty light on the RPG, especially your beloved engine.

Engineers are subpar junkies with recycled skills. I feel we are the gathering of other classes recycled skills however; with the privelege of picking out of a garbage bag and having these ghetto recycled skills. We need to lose a bunch of dmg for compensation.
If you want DPS engineer your out of luck. I don’t want to be SD build and I don’t want to annoyingly stack might. However if you don’t pick 1 out of the 2 you can’t deal dmg on par of others when they aren’t trying. I hate grenades.
I ran this build for a loong time. not exactly the same however I use the rifles in combo fields , extra static, distract mobs when running away, deal dmg when exploding. Just never really use it as a turret but as a c4/bomb

Depends what you call an endgame.
Farming Cursed Shore? Sure, nice AOE tagging does the trick.
PUG-runs of AC? Yeah, doable. You can even be better than some of those random derpers.
Arah, cof speedruns, fractals 10+ with organized groups? You’re pushing it. Need to do everything you can to keep up with other professions.
In the end you’ll be nothing more than a sub-par necro substitute. Let’s hope our finest our is still in future.

I would want the utility slots to NOT affect toolbelt skils so we can put in w/e we want for both slots. That would be a very good thing.. and it would definitly make sense too

- Elixer U for shields from ranged projectiles + field combos and quickness for revive
- Elixer S for invulnerability when revive + grant stability during condition boss fights
- Elixer R for self and team revives + help you breakstun and dodge to stay alive

in wvw the other day i 1v1 a p/d thief, believe me or not he was very good after a good fight i finally downed him and just before i could finish him i was smashed by a d/d ele , i did the /join so i could talk to them and that thief says to me “i was just telling my buddy you where doing things I’ve never seen an engineer do” and “i thought u were a warrior at one point” we decided on a few 1v1 dual’s the p/d thief ended up getting the upper hand on me once he started getting used to my combos and patterns.
what i’m trying to say is if i’m doing things that a few skilled players have never seen before and honestly I’ve never seen other engineers do, what does that say about every one talking about getting changes for the engineer i understand that u have your problems with the class and i’m sure that every one who plays engineer does, but before we start throwing around ideas to improve the class lets figure out the class properly, or we will just end up turning the engineer into the off putting love child of Anet and terrible players.
All in all we should all be focusing on making Anet fix the problems that we already deal with, then look towards changing the class for the better, and hopefully with the changes that come with the next update they fix those bugs, and i hear that the op classes are getting the nerf they need which will really put my engineer in a league of its own.
Did he mention how rare it is to see an engineer in GW2? If that is so any engineer could be easily unique. Especailly in wvw
I have two ideas, one of which would involve four new traitlines specifically for the Engineer – in short, every time the Engineer gains a Trait point, they gain an Upgrade point as well, which they can use in an ‘Upgrade Path’ to enhance a particular type of skill (Kit, Gadget, Turret, or Elixir) in a way, often more specialized (changes of condition damage, boons applied, etcetera), not offered by normal traits. However, this would give the Engineer two unique mechanics, as pointed out by somebody else, so eh.

The other idea, mentioned toward the end of that thread, is something of a reworking of how things function – make Elixirs more reliable (to encourage their use), make Toolbelt skills independent of Utility slot skills, and maybe rework traits (many of our traits do kinda suck, after all) and/or skills to make it easier/more useful to enter with a plan of action. More synergy between skills would also be great – there’s basically no reason to not specialize in something.
Come to think of it, it might be neat to have a set of Contingency skills, which could basically be sort of like Mantras in that they’re prepared before battle, and then used in a flash during it, but placed on the Toolbelt, with varied effects depending on the user’s loadout.
Idea for example Contingency skill:
Drone Deployment – A small number (1-3?) of miniature, mobile turrets is created (released from toolbelt), with less effectiveness but more mobility than their full-sized versions. Either have the types and/or number be based on the type/number of turrets or turret traits currently equipped by the user, or affected by combo fields. All miniturrets are affected by all Turret traits except for Deployable Turrets. Duration: 20 seconds, +5 for every Turret trait (maximum: 45 seconds), cooldown 90 seconds, cast time 5 seconds, or something, I’m not good at figuring out how long things should last/take to cooldown/cast.Not the best thing to follow ’there’s no reason not to specialize in something’ with, and it’s entirely possible that it’s horribly unbalanced, but, well. There you go, there’s yet another idea for how to handle the Preparation idea – this one focusing on the developing of backup/blitzkrieg plans (though I think my example’s awful, to be honest).

The problem with CCing things is that a good few things (particularly the ones that you really wish you could CC – Champions, for example) are immune to it, instead gaining stacks of Defiant, or are tagged with Unstoppable or something.
If our entire role is basically support…well, that’s stupid. No class should be the designated sidekick.
For my part, I mostly spend my time being a decoy. Turrets everywhere, pistols to kitten things off and do damage, and then a lot of time spent kiting. I’m also kitted out as a tank, and intend to run with it unless aggro gets reworked.

We are suppose to be cc masters running around causing different things to happen to cause chaos and frustration while effectively SUPPORTING our group. However all classes should be played and focus on dmg, defence, support ( even in the end it would be well rounded there should still be a viable build that can focus MORE on the three categories ). At the current state we are condition removers and moral boosters cause we can do many different useless things and drop many turrets. If played right we can pretend and lie to a group(and apparently to ourselves as well) that we are indeed contributing something to the group. * I always feel like I’m being carried *.
… Oh, we also stuck with the job of ressing people. since we have Elixer S, Elixer R, and Elixer U.
Elixer S – shrink to res without interruption
Elixer R – self res / res a number of downed players as long as it is within the res circle
Elixer U – quickness for faster res
(You can combine all of these together as well to res SUPER fast without getting hurt.)

Personal opinion, Tengu, Largos and Centaurs. I know the centaurs of Tyria are evil, very cold hearted. But I could honestly see that changing once we get to Elona. Assuming any of the centaurs of Elona are still alive it would make sense that they would be much more friendly with any humans surviving in Elona (because of the common enemy factor). I know that Centaurs wouldn’t fit the current characters models or armor or anything, but I highly doubt that would change ArenaNet’s stance on making them a race. I mean the Charr were made into a race when nothing about their physique matched the current races (which are pretty close to just larger and smaller versions of a human model.
Yeah they just draped the human armor skins all over Charrs like some kind of crap. If they do that with centaurs ( and I got a feeling they would ) you’ll just have a a very fast walking hut with solid textures… Oh and a centaur head sticking out. .. a metal poncho.
