What the poster above said, or you could make a build with switness on dodge, and 10
secs swiftness every 21 seconds too. But really now, why don’t you use some teleports?
P/P lacks evasion which is Important for the Thief, and since Body Shot isn’t really a good
skill how about you make a Teleport or an Evasion out of it? How about a short shot
followed by a short sidestep teleport, in a similar manner like the Dimensional Anchor?
Make it about 300 – 600 range, and while we are at it remove one condition?
Also it should port you in the same side you are walking right now, or default to right,
but not forwards or backwards since other skills allready do that.
Unload needs some kind of secundary powers, like flanking strike has.
So maybe 50% more projectile speed, and built in reflection and/or
retaliation immunity?
Casters should have the ability to replay previous matches and show slow motion replays from various character perspectives. Teldo escaping from 3 players at mine? Hell yes, I want to see replays of that to see exactly what he did and what the other players were doing to try to catch him. There are so many key parts of these matches, rezzes miliseconds before a stomp for example. Going back to see highlights would be amazing, both for entertainment purposes and for educating viewers to better understand what’s happening during real-time matches in the future.

Bo3 to Bo5 change favors teams that are good with Forest of Nifhel and Legacy of Foefire while giving a disadvantage to those that have practiced on Battle of Kyhlo.

Well whatever the game was maximum suspense and the best pvp match i have seen yet.

This, Asura + Particles + AoE Fields + more than 2 players fighting = what is even going on?
Blind needs to make your screen go black and lose the ability to auto target but still allow you to score hits if you get lucky.

Again, infiltrator strike is way better at catching your opponent and even flanking strike is somewhat a gapcloser, so why would you use it? It still has use to slow someone again but then again only as last resort if you have infiltrator’s return up, and it’s too far for some flanking strikes and have no steal/other teleports. But again let’s be honest how often does that happen?
It happens all the time, and sometimes DD even kills my enmy off. The only rant I have about that skill is that is way too unreliable, they should make it’s pathing to work like
sb #1, then it would be fine I guess … if they increase it’s dmg a little.
Also it’s nice to slow down those annoying classes who are jumping around all the time (eles,thieves,engies) and it helps to connect LS more reliable.
I really think that just moving us over to recharges without Initiative like everyone else would be a massive improvement for the Thief.

Well it’s not my nightmare but:
Necro 40 Ini, Fear = 20/30 Ini or something.
If ini regen skills are kept to a minimum it can work out, instead of these you can do an Ini cost reduction traits.
Or mulitble Inibars for different kind of skills.
One for condis, one for evasive stuff, one for raw dmg.

as a necromancer player, i’m kind of bothered that thief has more access to torment than any other class, one of the ways they access it can be used as long as 4 initiative is available.
Well it may be more acces but it’s not even usefull, it’s a skill on a ranged weaponset
that has to be used in meele, also if you stack Torment 5 times insantly you only have 10 short stacks, and have to use up F1, and Three utility skills, while one was a pre set up trap.
So it doesn’t really work. No need to be upset, since you can cleanse it easily, while the Thief has nothing left, aside from a heal, an elite, and his autoattack, which only provides short duration bleeds. (5 Stacks at best)
Also don’t be mad about the stolen fear, a Necro fears way better.
You kittentard thieves are beyond stupid. I main a thief, and Heartseeker spam is by far the most broken mechanic the class has, the OP is wrong about that. The OP is not having trouble dealing with these thieves, he is simply stating that it is discouraging a variable, more skillful, gameplay.
Here, you all have (save for a few) attacked the OP trying to make a intelligent discussion about how to discourage spamming the same skill over and over and over and over… etc.
Having this exhaustion would inevitably encourage more skillful gameplay. It makes thief have to actually think and use its other skills. Hell, I’d go so far as to create a debuff that makes thieves take more damage if they spam the same skill.
Now I await for the post infringements and all the trash I am going to get for this post. Cheers!

I’d love to see Shadow Strike kind of Hybridized, in that if you aren’t in melee, you don’t get the teleport or damage, but you can still land the 2 stacks of torment.
But wouldn’t that be a little too strong then? 8 torment stacks in 2 sec’s from a 900 range?

If it was a duel with /bow and everything at the beginning, then yeah. If he was just following and annoying you, then no.
Not really, as a thief, there is nothing you can call unfair. Use of terrain, mobs
traps, if you can use it, then use it. This “duell” talk isn’t even legit since thieves
aren’t a straight forward class.
YOu guys do not seem to realise that actually takes 0 skill and such buff/relic/power up should not exist in a pvp game.Claiming the core of a game with little to no effort is game breaking.

Its called instinct, its called experience, its called sixth sense, believe it or not, but a person who has a lot of experience in battle can predict something like this.
The same way you know when a thief stealths you sense their backstab coming then you block.
It’s called: if you see the thief stealth, run the opposite direction, count to two-three nd raise the shield. You should be able to wait the thief out of stealth then, right?

Oh wait, no this is pretty much exactly what we do.
The problem is, just waiting out a stealth timer is MEANINGLESS.
I will explain. When the stealth timer just ends, there is no revealed debuff. So waiting out the stealth does nothing, all the thief has to do is immediately CnD or Smoke field+Leap again for instant restealth and now Backstab time with shield stance on CD.
Or you could shield bash to eviscerate and using the +50% crit chance on stunned foes and get a guaranteed crit taking at least a 3/4 chunk out of their health.
How do you Shield Bash something that’s over 900 yards away?
Also no one runs crappy Berserker MH Axe builds anymore, not to any degree of success against competent players anyway.

Yeah Travlane, the range isn’t that good, but you shouldn’t forget that you
can port over the z axis too, which often is a huge advantage. And yeah you
are right, I was playing the so called “unicorn” build for a while, and 3 v 1
aren pretty much manageable, but it takes ages to kill somebody, and against
condition cleanse heavy classes/builds it takes even longer, I remember a fight
against a guardian …. there was simply no outcome. But well maybe it was the
fault of d/d and not using p/d, who know.
see…if you use CB as backup you kill your dmg in the small style battles bc u cant switch in middle of fighting…if u do you obviously lower dmg….not only that you lose the poison and the extra free evade.
The shortbow #3 is a way better evade imo, and there is poison too, but yes you are
right about the dmg.

Funny how people nowadays take everything seriously, even if it’s not
written in a serious manner at all.^^ But whatever, now since this thread
is actually a “nerf the thief even more” thread, it actually should be made in
the thief forum, after all warrior isn’t the only class who has the ability to
block, but since there actually are people who would oppose the idea it seems
that they now have resorted to the warrior forums, since the majority of the
pvpers would only lurk here, it they actually use a warrior in pvp. There aren’t
much other reasons to do it after all. Nice move I guess!~

And, now to the point, I actually wanted to talk all the the time about:
Even if my proposed “buff” would be implemented, it wouldn’t change too
much, same thing with the “nerf” this thread is about. If you have been loosing
too those thieves, you still will be losing, if you have been winning, it would be
a little easier, but in the end the outcome is the same, the only thing it would
change some of those real close battles, and only then if the thief uses attacks
from stealth and the warrior then decides to use his #5 skill with his shield.
To be honest, I didn’t even notice that blocks don’t reveal me, but that doesn’t
really matter since I only use stealth for condition removal, which means I wait
for the stealths duration to end, but meh, I wouldn’t care less if this litte “buff”
would given to the warriors, since they wouldn’t do any better in pvp.
tl;dr: This thread is actually pointless, since the problem with warriors and
thieves lies elsewhere, but thanks for the fun!~

It’s called there’s a shield in my face and you were dumb enough to swing at it. Or, ya know, aegis…
It’s called most of the time those attacks are made from behind the enemy, while
his shield is in front of him. This thread is about the shield, not aegis.
And btw, since it doesn’t reveal the thief, it’s not dumb to swing at the shield. =P
How about a compromise? Attacks from stealth are unblockable, which would
then result into a revealed thief. It’s just legit, and fair, especially when warriors
have a block which can reflect projectiles on such a short cooldown, it makes
even an guardian look like nothing. And then we can talk about real balance!
Let’s make the compromise even better for the poor warriors, it’s only unblockable
when the thief is attacking them from the side or from behind. It would promote
skillful play on both sides. Warriors have to use corners to fully defend themselves
and thieves need to run around them. Isn’t that the kind of positioning everybody wants?

GG, Headhsot is one of the best skills a thief have, and you made it to worse version
of the allready pretty bad skill Dancing Dager…
