Dodging is the best thing in this game, and normal dodges can’t really be spammed too much aside in a few set ups. Dodging by itself also is by no means OP.

After a long time I come back to this forum and see posts like these. Are you kittening srs? You obviously can’t be or you aren’t able to figure out by your own that dodging is one of the most broken mechanics in this game, as it is spammable and therefore doesn’t produce skill, but luck. Jeesus…

You have no Idea, before the rune of the adventure was nerfed you were able to make
builds that perma dodge, and not some kind of semi perma dodge, but a real one. And
I’m talking just about the “v” skill, without the addition of any evasive skills. The stuff
we have today isn’t even remotely close to that.

Let’s asume somebody has perma vigor, which means 4 dodges every 10 seconds, but
is that so much? If you compare it with the amout your #6 skill heals, and the dmg
conditions and even some auto attacks do, that’s not really too much.

Traited a Thief is able to doge 3 times in 12 seconds, and he might use vigor, which means 6 times in 12 seconds? Two dodges more than a normal person, it’s not that
much, also a thief like that is either having low damage or low toughness, so there
is a pay off there. Also he only has a vigor uptime of 66% and even then he would
waste some heals.

The thing is, if said Thief has all the obve, uses S/D and SB and the sigil of
energy on each weapon and uses the signet of agility, he hase more evasion
uptime than he would actually need, thats the point where it too much.

If you can’t handle an enemy with 4 dodges in the next 10 seconds …. well sorry.
But well I actually would prefer some kind of dodge mechanic which just quickly
moves the player to a different location, but that wouldn’t work too well with the
way attacks work in this game.

As you clearly stated, dodging can be spammed. And spamming is a problem in this game, seems like you are not aware of it. 4 dodges in 10 seconds are way too much. I agree that the damage also is too much (and other things too) and should be adjusted to it. However, doding became (cuz of sigils and vigor and evade-skills) skillless.
You dodge, not because you see the enemy coming up with a fear or a stun, but rather because you can. “99%” of all dodges are either because your endurance is (nearly) full or by prediction.

Well yes you are right, and all I meant that dodging by itself isn’t OP, but
spamming it is. But okay reading my first post right now I think I might
haven’t used the right words to mark my point, sorry.

BS, I levelled my thief to 80, got him exotics, running around in wvw with s/p sb, not a stealth based build, still think its op.

Well,
I get that it doesn’t work because when you use mistfrom while downed you
are virtually alive again, but is it really intended by the devs that a high CD skill
like Glyhp of Renewal doesn’t work in that szenario?

Maybe it did work? Dunno but it always worked for me.

i guess he means the bugged ileap… you can actually dodge while immob when its timed right but only at the very start and only once… you even see the attached chains in dodge

Nah simply as a Thief without any traits or stuff like that.

Current: Daze foe with a mace crack
New: Grant Aegis, Stability, and Regeneration

I disagree on this one, a 4 second daze is very powerfull and a perfect counter against
Guardians since they need to use various skills to stay alive, but when they can’t they
are just a heap of metall with low base hp. Also the mesmer skill would be superior
to this one then.

“whirling axe” there are some situation when i ran out of endurance and i really need to evade enemy burst using S/D flanking strike and when im running a condition build i don’t need this whirling axe really. so i wish by pressing escape i can cancel this whirling axe channeling animation

I don’t even know why they chaged the skill to that, but well at least if you use any other
skill, whirling axe gets canceled. So it’s not that much of a problem.

I also agree that 2 boons against certain classes is too good, while against others it’s necessary. How about make it so it steals 1 boon and steals another if the target has more than 4 or 5 boons on them? If not I do kind of like the health steal idea, it’d make it more useful in PvE considering there aren’t too many enemies that actually use boons, although I do love using S/D against dredge.

Its stupid. I just rained 20 meteors on a guys face, yet that doesnt kill him. Only breaks his legs.

It’s stupid. I just headshoted a into a guys face twice and stabbed him into his back once, yet that doesn’t kill him. Only lowers the durabilty of his legs.

Anyway you are right OP. I propose we change it to Character Control, or CC in short.

So there is no problem anymore, right? There is crowd control like stomp and stagering
blow, and there is character control like headshot and skull crack.

But actually I think it’s more like this:

By manipulating the individual you also alter/control the group/crowd?

And even if it’s not, why does it matter? Many terms people use today were made out of words with completly different meanings.

since the perma CC meta is not going to change anytime soon, GIVE US BACK at least our break stun on shadow return from sword.

The sword one actually is too strong, but I would love to see the stun breaker on steal again. It’s not like that one was too strong or anything, and the class mechanic should
be useful even without the use of traits.

It’s okay I guess? But they should keep it at 10 vulnerability stacks since they have a pretty short duration. And I really hope they would improve the #1’s speed, since it’s

Fixed a bug where some skills would remove the visual effect of stealth from the player.

About time.

Venomous Aura: Increased the venom share radius to 360.

Just remove that trait, and improve the venoms.

Destroy Shadow Trap: This skill now has a 1.5s cast time. It plays an effect at the thief and the trap location when it is being cast. Added 5 seconds of regeneration.

So it’s not a stunbreaker anymore?

And that’s it? Makes me a little sad.

Most dissapointing part of the last sotg, people want more variety for builds and stuff, and they tell us that they might remove some of the runes.

There should me more runes with viable extra effects like Melandru and Lyssa.
The Traveler Runes for instance would be a nice thing to have.

They should finally remove the personal score, and reward the winner/looser with a fixed score, if they at least contributed a little. That would fix a few problems.

I mean its an interesting thought, maybe if they had a polar opposite effect from the #1 “free” stealth attack..

Dagger MH = #3 attack heals the enemy.
Sword MH = #3 attack gives either stability to the enemy, or cleanses a condition on him, with blind as the number one priority.
Pistol MH = #3 attack cleanses 5 conditions on the enemy.
Shortbow MH = it’s not dual wield.

Rather then have steal a stun break, I would like to see it have a non target-able shadow step.

If you have a target steal works as it does now.
If you don’t have a target it works like shadow step, with out the stun break and with out the return.

A-Net said (3 – 5 Months ago) that they might implement something simmilar in
the near future, but not in the next patch. Back then when they were monthly

How to be strong in PVP?

Well for starters do 200 push ups on your fingers every day to train your clicking capacity.
Then you have to figure out a good working build, which should at least have a stun
breaker and some ways to cleanse conditions. Then you should at least stay until rank 10
in Hot Join, and you better play in one of those 5 v 5 servers. And most importantly, don’t play for your personal score, but to win the game, a cap point only needs one player to be capped, not two, and there is no reason to bash into a downed player, when there is no ally around who might would rez him.

It’s really hard to see what happens from those hovering observation points, and
with all these UI extras and the particle clutter, the AI overload while most of them
are asura don’t really help.

Can we remove the mesmer elite skill which turns you into a moa for 10 seconds? It feels redicilous to not be allowed to use your skills for such a long time.

Yeah it’s annyoing, but you can at least use “2”, “5” and your dodges, where traited extra efects remain.

1. Not really, I only had it mishap once. It’s also been stated in the thread you can learn how to use it w/o it messing up.

2. Lets just stop using any ability that doesn’t cleanse conditions? Thieves don’t have a problem with conditions anyways, our heal purges the big 3. Ontop of the fact condition builds are absolute garbage due to the sheer number of condition removals,transfers, conversions.

3. How on earth are you going to get stunned a 2nd time after you are ported invisible half way across the map?

4. TEN THOUSAND RANGE, do you even realize how wrong you are?

1. Since I can teleport normally to some places, where the trap can’t port me, I call it buggy since that’s what I understand as Shadowstep, those “rules” are simply a result
of that bug.

2. Are we playing the same game,condi … garbage? Also there are three heals, I might
have my reasons why I don’t use a certain one. Healing amount/cd/evade and most importantly cast time Also it’s just one reason I like Shadowstep more, since it has a
wider variation of practical applications, also it has the best utility cleanse.

3. Well you don’t allways want to leave your current point, right?

4. Yes to one preset location, there are various situations where it’s more usefull to go to a point you haven’t set your trap on prevously.

This depends completely on your build. If you’re 30 deep in Shadow Arts then this will break stun, teleport you to the player, give you stealth, fury and 10 stacks of might for 5 seconds. For a D/P thief this can be a life saver, a chance to burst or a chance to break stun, run away and reset. The fact that you instantly disappear is reason enough to use it.

It’s a bit buggy, but if you learn where it’s not bugging (took me 30 minutes with a guildie in sPvP) then it’s an amazing tool! Far point assaulting is redicolously easy with this trap. You can help your team in a team fight and leave immideately when you have the chance to cap that point again or kill the player capping it.

Yeah I know, also I never said it’s useless or bad, it’s just that I like/feel the need for
other skills with the builds I use at the moment. Also you get 12 stacks, not 10, and
it’s really unlikely that you will use the stunbreak when you are able to use the
activated trap. Also I have the feeling that the trap will be nerfed AGAIN, and I
don’t really want to get used to it sometime just to lose it.

People farming hotjoins even more in various aspects, and thus demote teamplay
even more, and nobody cares about winning anyway.

Teleporter
All utility skills with the ability to teleport somehow, now have a CD of 0.
Also you deal massive dmg on your destination, simmilar to a backstab. (AoE)
Every time you teleportet successfully your ini bar gets refilled.
Since we are aware, that you can easily teleport into AoE fields, your Health
gets raised by 20k. Shortbows, Pistols, Swords and daggers now deal 200%
more dmg.

I guess it’s fine as an adebt trait in the CS traitline.

Why nobody talks about it? Well there are more important things, than those skins, also

Well I don’t like that the sheep teleport out randomly out of nowhere, and the
placement of the button feels extremely off, and the lack of immersion because
of the small sqare, but whatever… i did it a few times, average is something between
0.16 – 0.17 I guess but even stuff like 0.8 is possible, but kitten I hate this game for some reason >.>

Just use retaliaton, and the thief has killed himself.

Except for the theif would only be hit for around 1k and he will still be hit for 15k.

15k? But that is good for you, put some protection up, add one or two attacks while
eating his unload, heal yourself a little up, and he is down for sure.
