Why? That has not been viable in PvP for months.
If the damage is bumped up, it becomes extremely hard to deal with, because it cannot be evaded except by prediction.

1. Ele update: can’t say much since there is also no details. Glad to hear there will be QoL for screpter i just hope it won’t get overtuned like DH.
2. Not touching scrapper hammer at all? Why? If i also understand it right engis won’t see any nerfs if any, even though it is currently one of the most broken classes right now due miriad of defenses, backstab dmg on hammer which is overloaded with utilities, CC etc.
3. Guards: yeah, i really hope traps will be brought down a bit. Not sure what other options of guards really need buffs considering they already have really good condi build, dps build and bunker build which all are not used due to DH being faceroll and other elites being better at bunkering because they are overbuffed.
4. Mesmers: nothing about ridicilous amount of uptime on evades/blocks for mes? No update on alacrity affecting thieves (since they don’t profit from it). No update of stolen plasma that is still missing boons like resistance and quickness?
5. Necro: gods, please don’t buff necro. They are already bordeline OP and way too forgiving due to massive aoe spam and way too high survivability (i play one myself).
6. Ranger: not a single word about bunker druid’s pet almost one shotting players. Not a single word about year long CC aoe dazes that hit target even outside of the circles. GG.
7. Revenant: don’t forget hammer dmg and exploitable bugs :|
8. Thief: well i hope those aren’t just plain number increase/decrease. We need things like backstab hitting through blocks/invuls under certain conditions. Only acro gets looked at? What about whole class? It suffers greatly from massive aoe, revealed, CC spam from all other classes and stealth/dodges offer often no protection at all. WITHDRAW IS STILL MISSING 10% HEALING BUFF.
9. Wars: too vague to say much, i only hope rifle doesn’t turn into second scrapper hammer with crap load of utility and backstab dmg on every spell.
Bottom line: unless buffs to ele scepter, thief and war will be huge (which opens new problems) i don’t see us moving anywhere away from current snoozefest of bunker meta. Most elites need overall reducing in aoe effectivness, longer CD on CC, less passives, less effect on CCs, longer CD on defensives, less effectivness on defensives, less boon spam and dmg on some builds need to be tuned down (e.g. vault spam, dh traps, scrapper hammer, chill from reaper etc.)

Diamond solo queue can get to legend solo, I’ve seen it. You literally have to play a hard carry class though, something that can 1v1, troll 1vx fights after everyone has died, get rezes, watch home, decap, move down bodies (to prevent mesmer rez) and rotate at esl/pro league level.

in bns? gear doesn’t matter, everyone gets same stats and brought up to same lv; you do need to lv up character so you can access talents though~
so theoretically you can play at low lv but you wouldn’t have all talents
then again from what i hear getting to lv 45 (50 comes out few patches later) takes 2 days~

Cmon, scrappers dont have high dmg (10k backstabs, 8k HS), they have high sustain and they just hard counter stealth classes (especially thieves) with aoe reval plus stealth. Thieves can’t and shouldn’t be able to beat or own anyone. Like DH can’t beat tempests or revenant or reaper. You cant have it all (at least you can 100% escape from fights you can’t win unlike other classes)

As i see it, the 3 main things that hurt balance the most are passives, hard CCs and basic power scaling in elite specs. I tried something with one of my mesmer friends- we stood in a custom arena and they let me AA them while they stood still. For god’s sake, i got damaged down to 75% HP, stunned, dazed and ambushed by clones by only AAing them… not to mention that they got auto stealthed periodically while generating clones like no tomorrow. Ok, this is mesmer. What about revs? (Even just core, i don’t even wanna start talking about glint…) and engies? (Especially the invuln elixir) the amount of passives is just insane, to the point that the build can carry the player. This shouldn’t exist, imo. Yes, i know i would suffer from having less passives because i’m a pretty average~ PvPer, but i think it is just not healthy for the game.
in almost 3 years of playing this game i saw backstab hitting for 10k+ only once… which was in wvw, from full zerker signet thief

I have often experienced people exploiting the pvp league system by teaming up with lower rank players to lower their MMR. Because of this, if you lose to them (which you likely will, it’s more skilled players trying to get up against lower skilled ones) you end up losing up to three pips, usually two. This is due to them having a lower MMR from their amber buddies and so they are calculated less likely to win by the match making algarithum. But when you lose two pips, they gain two, making them want to do this more and more. And this isn’t simply people “playing with lower ranked friends”, these are people teaming up with players with names insinuating that they are there specifically to help exploit for pips. (I won’t name any due to call-out rules)
While I realize this exploit is being fixed in the next season, I feel that those who have abused this in the current season should have this behavior punished.
Has anyone else come across groups like this?
Yeah they are common and even advertise in map chat.
Anet has no interest in punishing those players (nor players that tanked mmr down on purpose), from what i understood.

I honestly think it depends a lot on map, on player but also weither team can rotate around thief. I had plenty of games where i went to decap far and had 2-3 enemies chasing me for half of the match around the node while my team wiped the rest of them. Not to mention thieves are pretty good at stealing beasts – i won quite few games that my team was ment to lose thanks to clutch beast steals (got 2-3 pips for that).
+1 is also such a thing: yea you could get a bunker 1 + you but if you are fighting a druid or tempest it would take you ages to kill them if ever. A decent thief/war can murder them pretty fast if they know how to use the opportunity window.

The new elite was supposed to solve this, but I hardly see any thief actually bypassing the downed state with it.
The cast is just too long, can be easily countered by CCs, stealth, quickness not to mention it locks thief in long animation in mid of all the aoe spam. Scrapper gyro on other hand is so much better -_-

well i’d like to see Scrappers absurd hammer damage coeffecients gone for good too.
Scrapper has MULTIPLE attacks on hammer that either have higher coefficients/damage than backstab or just around the same as backstab, and they all do something defensively as well. here’s a comaparison:

I’ve played BnS, the 1v1 pvp is far beyond GW2 but the pve is meh, which is ok it will be my main pvp game but don’t expect anything more ;p
GW2 may still have its place once the balance fiasco from the xpac is over with. I work a lot so GW has always been my go-to game for casual but serious play since GW1, can’t really do that in other MMOS.

Tbh given how Anet designed guard pull reliably, fixed engi pull but somehow ignored thief pull, never added 10% healing to withdraw it is save to assume: they don’t give a flying kitten about thief class.
