Im going to go out on a limb here and say that they may not actually be trolling you, depending on where you are posting it ( IE under open world content ) if people are trying to taxi in, the LFG can move fast, there are times ive went to click on a party to join and its already gone and the window has scrolled and its made me join someones random party that I had no interest in joining.
If of course its in a dungeon lfg or pvp then yes it maybe a troll.

I agree, I’m having a lot of fun (even on thief!). I think it’s the classic issue of people losing half their games, and blaming it on class balance rather than just the way things are (you will always win some and lose some as MMR adjusts to your skill). Losing feels bad, and people want to justify their loss in some way or another.

Honestly, I’m having a lot of fun with it. Fights actually drag out a bit longer now, and winning isn’t just about getting the drop on someone but by managing cooldowns better. And because fights tend to last longer, holding points and decapping points in Conquest is all the more important.
I also find it humorous that in some threads you have complaints about rev and dh being way too strong, whereas right next to it you have complaints about temp, chrono, and druid being too tanky.
I feel when more than half the professions of the game are being complained about, things must be all right.
Which part of current meta is about magaing CDs better lol? Are we playing the same game? A lot of invuls/blocks/heals are on short CD, AoE/CC is almosr free.
More than half of the professions? More like play 6 ELITES or don’t play at all. Besides major complain is just there is too much AoE, CC and passives. PvP is not enjoyable even if you play one the “meta” builds.
edit: plays engi, gets carried by passives, NVM, you don’t even play the game, computer plays it for you

Working as intended according to Anet design: you are being punished for not forming a team+farming pugs (punishing other soloq players) or paying Pro League teams to carry you.

This happens almost on daily basis:
- make post in LFG
- one person joins, leaves group right away -> post gets automatically removed from LFG
- forced to make LFG post again
- one person joins, leaves group right away -> post gets automatically removed from LFG
- this repeats few times until i get suppressed for excessive messaging and can’t make post in LFG.
I highly doubt that reporting those people for LFG abuse would do anything in this case :|
Increasing amount of times you can make posts in LFG would really helpa s well since system removes your message automatially every few minutes.

My personal problems with pvp atm:
1. mindless spamming aoe is too rewarding and is not punishing
2. mindless CC spamming is too rewarding and not punishing
3. too many passives, pvp atm is basically computer playing vs computer
4. TOO MUCH VISUAL CRAP I CAN’T SEE ANYTHING- how the hell are you suppose to ACTIVELY react to something you can’t even see… EVER
5. thieves are garbage in comparison to other classes because of dubious marketing strategies and greed
6. pvp system is just motivating players to quit game

Anet says its at my isp, whereas my isp keeps saying its a modem…
Which i know its not because the issue existed before they sent me a new modem to try to correct the issue in the first place
It doesn’t help i get clueless isp reps as well, really think they are covering their butts over at Anet.
I notice it in all game maps. Its real bad in WvW / HotM and any pvp.
It exists in PVE as well but doesn’t seem to be as bad, still there though

I play other classes but it is just no fun. If by the time i finish legendary stuff nothing improves, i am out of this game. I know Anet won’t care since they already made money off me, it is just sad to see this great game (best mmo game i played in years) turn into complete garbage.
It is not even about thief itself, meta atm is just unenjoyable no matter what class you play (aoe, cc spam, tanky builds doing zerker dmg etc.). Thief being lackluster is just cherry on the top. Add crappy pvp system (whaky matchmaking, no soloq etc.) and it is just “to hell” with this game :/

Just to add some explanation why current meta is bad from design point (imo):
1. aoe does as much and often more dmg than single target spells. In game where pvp is all about fighting on points ability to spam aoe is way too huge advantage. In every single game i played so far AoE usually was rather costy thing and on long CD, it also did lower dmg than single target attacks so you had to make sure you land that AoE on multiple targets. In GW2: spam as much as aoe as possible w/o any thoughts because it is on low CD, costs often nothing and does a lot of dmg. On other hand a lot of single target, risky skills (prime example backstab) are a joke in comparison dmg wise.
It completely kills any kind of coordinated gameplay. Just spam aoe away. If aoe was costy and not as effective while single target attacks were strong teams would be forced to coordinate their spikes. THIS would pvp and not bot fest we have atm.
2. Ranged attacks do more dmg than melee attacks. Here is core issue with that: imagine class A and B, let’s assume A and B deal same dmg however A deals ranged dmg and B melee only. Now if both of them start to fight, B will actually have to walk to A to do dmg while A can pew pew at him and kite.
Obviously A has huge advantage. Certanly, GW2 has plenty of gap closer skills but it still means class B has to blow some CDs/resources to get in melee range while A can pew pew.
Usually in other games class A would have disadvantage by being squishy which would motivate them to avoid melee range and class B would bit more tankier since they have to eat a lot of ranged attacks before they can land their main dmg but in GW2 it is not the case: for example guards, mes are anything but squishy. On opposite hand we have classes like thieves which are pretty much pure melee being extremely squishy WHICH would be justified since they have great access to stealth but current patch simply killed stealth for thieves and their stealth attacks are a joke in comparison to rev AA.
3. Risk vs Reward: tank shouldn’t do high dmg, same way that glass cannon shouldn’t be able to tank. In GW2 we have tanks spamming massive CC and dmg, all in one, as long as you play one of the 6 elites. That just goes against any healthy logic, common game design etc. I miss old meta when bunker guards existed, zerker thieves/mes/eles were a thing, engis ran condis etc.
I can imagine Anet wanted possibly invent a wheel but what we got is just 6 elites are stupidly broken, spam aoe that you can’t anything and you have to rely on computer (passives) to play with you. This is generally main reason why thieves and wars are not so great atm: they are too active and don’t have as much protection vs aoe/cc spam.
4. Then we have amulets. I absolutely LOVE the idea and how we don’t have to grind gear etc. BUT WHO IN THE HELL THOUGHT IT WAS GOOD IDEA TO add amulets giving every single stat and numerically having advantage over every other amulets. It just pushes hybrid classes too above others. How can somebody be so blind to issue with this amulet ? And issue been going for YEARS now.

I know its all opinion based, but every meta has its ups and downs, so there really can be no “worst meta” because everyone has a different idea of what the worst is. Personally, I don’t think this is a great meta, but I like it a lot better than the

If you refuse to keep supporting the company that owns the game you play, you are going to have disadvantages. Be glad that you can at least compete with HoT players depending on the situation.
In almost ALL MMO’s you can’t keep on playing at the top level is an expansion is out and you don’t have it.
I have xpac, i just don’t enjoy the horror of combat system/balancing we have atm in pvp.

I don’t want them deleted. But I do think key elements should be reconsidered. Chill should do 30% less damage, and regain its functionality as an execution (doing its current damage if you are below 50% hp) on Reaper. DH traps should not daze, anything but a CC effect on a trap as there is a bug if you are walking and take your hand off the keyboard while moving and after being dazed you will get forcibly moved forward. Scrapper should not give you the finger while dishing its damage, especially that MUCH damage. Chrono is actually fine, Tempest is fine, Daredevil is fine (but Core Thief needs some love). Berserker needs help. Revenant/Herald need some heavy handed nerfs atm. Druid isn’t broken, just annoying. I can play around EVERYTHING on ANYONE except for Reaper, Scrapper, Rev, Herald, and DH. If they know what they are doing they just rough me up and throw me into the junkpile. Very agitating.
There are 2 problems with balancing elites:
1. they can’t nerf them otherwise majority of groups won’t be able to complete raids and QQ would be massibe from pve side
2. it would take waaaaaayyyyyy too long to balance them, by that time we will probably have another expansion if anything… disabling elites on other hand is easier in comparison

At this point Anet won’t nerf elites for the sake of vanila builds. Which wouldn’t be all so bad if elites didn’t introduce massive AOE/CC spam and passives on passives riding passives. Most of the time i can’t even see what is happening. Just for 50 euro the game plays for you!
So here is simple suggestion: disable elite specs in pvp. We would be back to pre-HoT state. It wasn’t amazing but was better than this…garbage we have atm for pvp.

What were you stealing from before? Thin air? It’s amazing how long that have been going on.
Sometimes mechanics overule lore, but this is a case of lore overruling mechanics. It just didn’t make any sense.
Now, I would not be against some F3 skill slot that can give the thief some sort of self-boost. Like a second pocket you can get with a trait that stores defensive items instead offensive ones like F2 does, and make it so boons, stealth stun breaks and other defensive effects are linked to that one instead on stealing.
But stealing itself has to reach an enemy and actually steal from them to have its effects.
Let’s apply this amazing logic to EVERY SINGLE spell in game so it makes “sense”. For example backstab can be blocked when hitting from behind, what are you blocking with? Or i get hit by channeled spells in stealth, WHAT are they even following if enemy can’t see me? Or if i steal axe from warrior WHY can he STILL use his AXE? I plant a tree on the ground, WHY can enemies run through it? Why can ranger pet still run around and even rez ranger when i killed it?

Of course he could farm pug’s with his team, but what’s the point? Where is the fun in that?
Sometimes people just want to solo queue or duo queue, believe it or not.
I think he actually wanted to show that getting high rank is possible while Qing alone or/and playing unviable classes. He proved the opposite though.
The joke is, i and many other players posted exactly same concerns (premades vs solo, farming ranks with low mmr person on team, high mmr affecting progress etc.) when leagues were first announced. All of the feedback got ignored. Things are happening EXACTLY like they were predicted (and btw we didn’t reach the worst of it yet). EXACTLY same things happend in many other games (wow, league etc.). Blizzard for example had to revamp whole mmr/ranking system countless times to fix flaws/prevent abuse. You would think Anet would do A BIT of research and learn from other companies mistakes (since player feedback on this matter is useless apparently).

Port? with the countless options you have on the class? Evade? steal from a distant target? since stealing on a spot to avoid AoE really doesnt help you unless you evade or port which defeats the purpose of wasting steal in the first place. The numerous stealth options?
Steal can heal ,do damage, rip boons, grant boons, recharge skills, stealth for backstab, daze, apply conditions, grant endurance and probably more i have missed, but you decide to give up all that just for stealth that doesnt block damage and that you can get in other ways?

What are you guys on about, this isnt a nerf, if anything this is actually an improvement. How many times have you accidentally used steal on target that went into went into stealth almost at the same time. If you want ooc swiftness then take unhindered combatant. If you are talking about party then odds are half your party can give party swiftness anyway.
Stop looking for things to complain about.

@Vapour.7348: won’t do much. People will just ask you to reroll something and verbally harass or just complain and blame you all match you if you don’t. Seriously only way to play thief atm is just disable any chat. I even had game where i played revenant and enemy team was moaning all game about having thief :|

sure, but all weapon skills share same resources (energy/ini) and can’t be used if your resources are at 0
oh and also all weapon skills will have their effectiveness reduced like thief skills because they will be “spammable”
