Nothing to say about Path One, pretty straight forward.

Path 2, I remember a certain developer saying we’re supposed to have atleast 15k hp and are expected to fight mobs that spawn whilst magg is trying to blow up the gate. Well I have 14khp, decked out in beserker exotics with eagle runes, even then the Mobs have too high hp that coordinated attacks cant take em out in time before someone gets chained KD and dies. Can you lower the number of mobs that spawn if we’re supposed to take them out because right now the only viable method of doing this is to run in circles in pairs and chain spawn, and frankittenhats a bad design.

Path 3, Quite like this one, cept for the hallway with mobs.
Im playing from Asia and I have roughly 300 – 400ms lag in this game, that hallway leaves very little room for error.
Whilst most players in US or EU start running the moment they see the flashing bombs go out, I have to start running when the light is at its brightest because in reality thats when the light has just turned off, would it hurt to give players a little more leeway on the bombs. At least until you guys have an oceanic server

Ive played from Asia before, and I have a couple people down there I know who play gw2 on an EU server. They and I never had these MS issues.

It might just be your internet connection isnt that great or your machine lacks the specs to play at the graphic level you desire?

We played through optic fiber internet with quite high bandwidth. Cant remember what everyone had or have but they dont have lags.

They should have a talk with the people who nerfed Arah. Now its too easy. The abominations that used to be champions certainly dont need to be silver mobs. Now it allows groups to clear half the steps, and ignore the rest, including the random corpses.

Some guy just said 15 waves.

Why are there 15 waves of these beasts between me and 2 chests?

Tedious content does not make for fun.

Their PBAoE and AoE and health all need a reality check because these guys are not fun.

Tried it again with holding 1 off but after we finished the pylons and got to the boss we were down a man, got him into the guy who controls gravity fight. Someone falls in lava, they are stuck. These waves were coming constantly.

Well, its unfortunate that Anet had to put these grenadiers there. But, they arent that bad once you figure out a way to beat them and it works;) Not sure why it didnt work for you.

Also Anet added this feature to stop “Speed runs” of the specific path. This path was abused by Token farmers.

Dungeon Kick

Well, the point I think is. If you think something is being abused, or not done correctly. Ask the group, and if they give you a good enough reason. Then continue, and accept the situation.

If you still aren’t convinced and the things that are being done by the other group members are clearly bug abusing or “spoils the overall enjoyment of the dungeon”. Then either report them if it is a bug, or leave the group to find another.

Also, if your running with a group of guildies, then you should make sure you arent making them angry if you want to complete the dungeon with them. Its just something to keep in mind, not that they did anything right by kicking you at the boss. I think its the same anywhere irl and any MMO groups. Dont make the majority turn against you:)

Not Infinite, 12 waves is what I’ve heard.

Also, try out the tactic of killing off all but 1 grenadier on the first wave. Leave 1 player to kite the grenadier, while the other 4 go up to the boss to kill it. This way new waves of grenadiers wont spawn.

Also its not a bug because Anet put an area where the grenadiers hit to despawn.

No invisibility. I’ve been hitting it hard with my shortbow in autoattack range.

Well then it must be a bug:/ and should be reported. I cant say anything more since Lupicus never resets for me unless we accidentally drag him out of the door which doesn’t happen too often.

Honestly, I’m regretting running that dungeon.

The itemization of the armour is terrible.
Nothing that interests any normal build and…

precision, vitality and heal.
Seriously? You came up with that? Something with no damage stat? That is just terrible.

Furthermore.
The look of the armour is pretty bad, looks like a dress made of leaves. As an engineer, I don’t want to look like I’m a bush.

So that leaves me with: no use for stats, no use for looks. What is there left?

What a shame. I have nothing to spend it on.

Keep the Tokens for a future legendary weapon. You may want to buy the “Gift of Thorns” in the future.

Arah Explorable, Jotun Path not finishing

@Inci: Have you tried it after the patch/ does the jotun path actually still work?

We just tried it again today, this time killing everything in order: Ooze, Crystallines, Tar Elemental, Lupicus, Gorilla, Jotun etc. This time round the NPC was actually talking when we reached the Jotun but after killing it we were still stuck with the observatory remaining locked and searched endlessly and couldn’t find a key? Bugged or are we missing something stupid? At least this time round we didn’t have to put up with a pug mesmer who only had greatsword (seriously, he didn’t even have other weapon skills unlocked at lvl 80, must’ve paid some gold seller or something) and couldn’t kite to save his life so things died ALOT faster and knew the boss mechanics this time so it only took 2 and a half instead of 5 hours (we somehow wiped from lupicus 5 times this time though and the marathon run on jotun path is just so long and wiped another 5 times at the jotun cause apparently just standing there with reflecting crystals while dodging the occasional obviously telegraphed lava font was too hard lol).

It should work, I did it after the patch with a Pug. It worked fine. The door should open after you kill the boss which leads to another 2 rooms where the final boss should be.

Since 3 weeks I'm NOT ABLE to Play WvWvW

Since 3 weeks I open the game and I’m unable to join ANY wvwvw area, I sometimes have to wait up to 3HOURS until something pops, which is mostly at the moment when the wvwvw round is over and everyone is already leaving.
Funny thing is also, exactly 5 min after you reset the server, I get a 24h dc from internet(nothing I can change on my end) and then I can again look 2+hours at a queued sign that is unable to tell me even the estimated time until I may join or place I’m currently stuck in.

It is just horrible to not beeing able to play WvWvW when gw2 is build around that part.

Back to waiting in line until I go to sleep. Nice job.

I waited for less than 10minutes just now to join EB from Desolation. One of the “High” populated EU servers.

It might just be that you are in a server with too many people. Try moving to another server with less players, I hear they need more players to help them out in WvW.

Or Join one of the less populated boarderlands, and join EB later or where ever your trying to que for.

Its like in Disneyland, everyone pays to get in but not everyone can get on all the rides of Disneyland and Disney world in 1 day;) Or if you haven’t been to either…im sure you can figure something out.

Three french servers in the six first places this week, i think it clearly proves the point.

French Players like WvW more than anyone else or…there are more WvW active guilds in French Servers or…in the French servers there are more WvW Guilds that are larger than any other.

I have to vote no to your idea. All I see coming out of this is, most players would just ignore the HC Explo and farm away at the easier one which gives 30 Tokens.

If the easier dungeon only gave 10, and the HC 60 then sure. Then there is an incentive here for players to bother with the harder explo. Or perhaps 10 tokens, 60 tokens as I mentioned plus a chance of getting a speicific loot set only in the HC dungeon but not in the easier.

CoF Exp Path 1, Final Boss

First off, who even decided to design a boss like this? Really? Our group made it all the way to the end without problems and this boss cannot be killed unless you have the perfect set up. We had 2 rangers and 3 warriors and it’s simply impossible to kill him and a complete waste of time to even run through path 1 of CoF. He spawns hundreds of crystals that all heal him and they fall from the sky with .000000000000000000001 second of response time for you to dodge. I just don’t understand. Horrid design. Just horrid.

You could actually melee a boss…if you know what your doing. You need to know how to dodge, move etc not just auto bash…

Thanks guys, the poison bit is a very good point, we hadn’t thought of that. I think one of the issues we had is we had 3 melee in there. now that they have changed it so that you only get the tokens at the end it’s very frustrating but I understand why they have done it.

Our guild is now unfortunately getting a little bit jaded by the game. Levelling to 80 was great fun but now we’re all here (some of us with 2 characters) we are struggling to find content. This path was the last one for 2 of our guild before the dungeon master title. I fear we may leave soon for a different game :/

Well even after you apply poison it still takes time to down her. So a bit over tuned, but doable.

Arah path 4 - are we doing something wrong?

So we got through to the priest boss at the end of path 4 – took us like 2.5 hours but we made it then we got to the bit with the priestess and the sparks. we could dps the priestess down fine and when she hits 50% the sparks appear and you need to pull them to the middle, which is fine but they don’t always activate at the tree and she heals right back up again. the closest we got was about 20%. Is there sometyhing we should be doing that we aren’t?

I think shes a bit over tuned atm, but she can be beaten if your team is very very organised. You need to all decide on who goes to what spark, pets, npcs under control + poison the boss. Also, everyone must follow one another closely when you circle around the tower. At the same time it really helps if your on voice chat to direct players to the correct location etc etc.

But as of now, it feels as she is quite hard to beat:P Although it has been done.

At first when I got in to SE this path and we have to deal with these 4 trashes we are like,
they constantly throw bombs at you with a big quick red circle on you, fine
they have strange aggro mechanics and like to focus zerg one person at a time, fine
they chill you once a while so you have to eat their big fat fruity bombs, fine
they have hp high enough to fool you (or wipe you) around for good 5 mins+ each, fine
so as we thought ok we can deal with all these and guess what,
THEY KEEP RESPAWNING FOREVER!
That’s when we call it ridiculous and sorry we aren’t gonna waste our time anymore.

Read my previous post and itll make your life easier…or kill 12 waves. Which ever you want. More loot, or less time to complete the dungeon.

If you’ve done personal storylines, you’d know that solo is MUCH harder than grouping, even 1 person would make the difference.

I have to disagree there. I think Dungeons are harder than personal story lines :/ I have never found the story lines hard once I figured out what I was supposed to do. If you do what is asked for by Anet in the story, then it is very simple. Extra players in your instance only makes it more convenient.

You can stop the spawn of the Grenadiers if you follow the tactic I just gave you. Keep 1 Grenadier alive far away by the way point, with 1 random party member kiting the grenadier.

The other 4 go kill the boss, the grenadiers stop spawning. Follow these simple steps and you can easily finish this path. Or you can do what one of my friend did. He just killed 12 waves of the grenadier with his party. This instance is not bugged or flawed. If this instance was bugged, then the grenadiers wouldnt die when they hit a certain section near the way point.

The ever spawning Grenadier section is there to slow speed running through the dungeon path.

The debuffs have always been there, the armour repairs dont cost much. I die on average 1-3x per dungeon? I get downed probably 5-20x depending on the day, but a flimsy 11s repair cost for everything destroyed is nothing compared to the 30-50s you get from each dungeon run.

Why bother taking away the repair cost, people will just die on purpose, corpse run, bot, etc. The list continues.

Wow, I’m not getting anywhere close to 30-50 silver on runs. Granted I’ve only done the lvl 30 and 40 storybook mode dungeons, and I’m lucky if I break about even. So far dungeons are more of a money sink for anyone helping lower level members get through a dungeon.

The consensus seems to be among officers is that many dungeons are not fun and they are HUGE money sinks for level 80s. In other words, helping out fellow guild members cost time and gold. Keep in mind many lower level members who go through the dungeons don’t have runes, great armor, and they are still learning the game, so the teams will definitely die more then once or twice! Aka the huge money sink problem.

In GW 1 our members and officers loved dungeons and we did them all the time in NM and HM. Now I hear, “I hate, hate, hate this dungeon!”, “I never want to do that one again! Ever!” This is often the first dungeons people are doing. :/ Seriously, this is a problem. As one member said, who did his first run through AC, “This is the first time since I started playing GW 2 that I’m not having any fun.”

Many players are sending a message about the flaws in the dungeons and telling them they just need to play better doesn’t help. *You should never leave a dungeon poorer then when you went in, even if you are a crappy player. Period*

I forgot to mention im Lvl 80 so I might get better loot. Im not sure. I have 0 magic find, I dont bother with it. Might have the odd 1-2 percent though not sure not interested.

Your probably in a very grumpy Guild, or the guild members you go to Dungeons are grumpy or not very good with the new Dungeons. Might just be a very conservative guild which came from GW1.

On the other hand, I have yet to hear people rage about a specific dungeon in my guild I’m in. Sure, the occasional, “I hate those flowers in TA they are annoying!” does appear from time to time, but we all just laugh it off I suppose.

If you die a lot in dungeons, consider changing your builds, and also use consumbles. It helps and earns you silver at the end of the day.

Then hardly anyone would even bother joining a party of 5. Why not just solo grind away in your own world. Afk when you want, kill what you want, exploit bugs when you please.

I doubt this would happen. Imagine…if you were a WoW player…using the scaling system so everyone can solo a raid. Same concept here, its not going to happen anytime soon without Anet having a very good reason.

Did anyone say the tactic was to hide 12 waves…? Perhaps clearing 1 wave and leaving 1 person with 1 grenadier and the other 4 running up to complete the 2 boss’s might be a smarter approach. This is just another instance where we all need to group up and say L2P to another community member.

IF you read the posts by the devs, they have said that their initial testing was based in a controlled environment. The bugs are caused because codes break due to the stress being applied to them by 10,000s of players repeatedly using the same string of codes. If you don’t understand that codes can break and think that a string of commands is perfect from day one, there is no point arguing this case.

Also, if YOU can do better. Then DO IT. Show Anet how its supposed to be done:) Get employed by Anet, show them. If they dont employ you, they either dont need you or your not good enough.

There will always be bugs. Fix a bug a new one appears.

Your more than welcome to try to solo, but I think dungeons aren’t supposed to be soloable. They arent made for that because…well it would mean that dungeons would be incredibly easy for groups to finish if a solo can finish it.

If you want to solo a boss, solo the World events or politely ask your party member to allow you to solo the boss.

Funny, Anet increases the numbe of tokens you get per run because the community got angry that it was too grindy to get tokens for Dungeon Gear. Now, some have started to complain, to reduce the number of tokens.

To answer your statement about SE and the inquest Grenadiers, they do not spawn infinite numbers of times. They spawn a maximum of 12 waves for those that havnt figured out a good tactic to beat this section of the dungeon.

Regarding the Mag being impossible accusation. Mag is not impossible, only harder to complete. It was easy before, now its hard. The way its supposed to be.

Regarding the 3rd paragraph, I have over 300hours, I have already hit this wall that GW2 seems to lack endgame material. I have completed 95percent of the jumping puzzles. All dungeons are pretty much completed/done, 100percent map completion, lots of money, full exotics etc etc etc. I feel like GW2 should have more content in it, for a MMO of its size, but I know itll come soon once the initial release bugs are fixed.

Your last paragraph, if you read the posts by the developers on this forum, then you would know that they have already explained that they have tested all the dungeons before release. The only reason it seems as if everything has been over tuned for some players may be due to certain fixs Anet made. Which meant the balace they had before disapeared, or they failed to notice these balances and are fixing the game so everything could be as balanced as it could be.

Regarding the bugs. I am quite impressed that Anet only has a number of bugs we players can actually list and count. With a program this size, having only a handful of bugs is quite impressive. If you can do better please do.

So Lupicus is just the fist boss? xD Holy kittens!

But appeared after 2 hours of full trash! and there was a lot of “champions” giving chest with cool mechanics before. I thought that they were bosses also :-S
(the giant with the dart guns and some Azura we kill)

Yeah the Arah Dungeon takes about 2-5hours to complete. Depending on your team. Yes Lupicus is only the midway boss. After Lupicus, a whole new path opens up depending on which path you chose. At the end you will find out a bit more information about the Lores of Tyria, which may be interesting to some. At the same time you will be rewarded for finding the lost secrets hidden in Arah.

There is 2-3 more boss events after Lupicus btw so…I would assume in total there is…7-9 boss events in 1 full Arah dungeon? Including puzzles etc. Might be more, not sure havnt counted.

What was the last boss? Was it Lupicus? It sounds like Lupicus, this is not the last boss. The last boss for Yissa I think was some boss in a forcefield? I cant remember who Yissa is, but generally all the end boss of all the paths arent that hard. So Im assuming your talking about Lupicus.

Now to answer your questions.

1-If you finish the whole dungeon, and its not your first time, you will usualy have a + in silver after you get the reward xp, silver, tokens + sell all the junks you get.

2-Yes, you only get tokens once you finish the Dungeon. This was a new update Anet put in to stop the excessive Token farming practice that was going on including certain groups of players exploiting the previous token system.

3.The loots generally are junk, but if you sell them all it makes a couple silver. Also, it is possible to get yellow and exotic items in dungeons, just not every run. This is also an anti exploit system to stop players from speed running dungeons just to get an exotic every round. If an exploit was to be found to speed complete a dungeon, it would risk the GW2 economy etc etc.

The snipers never were a problem after the first run in CM, you block/dodge while moving into them and kill them fast. In the “treehouse” i always pulls the other mobs behind a the second rock, where the rest of the group will be waiting, and kill them there before going to the snipers (shots dont get you there, you need to double dodge backwards btw to avoid being obliterated in the pull).

The dogs are bullkitten, even with a CCbreakers its way too much fear, we dont wipe on them, but usually one person always dies, and its not fun to just watch your character running in fear, burn target, run in fear, burn target, run in fear…

Readjust your traits, so you can ignore the fear 1 or 2×. There are many ways you can avoid the fear. Its just part of the dungeon. Dont like it, do a different path or another dungeon. Cant handle them all because of 1 part or more? Dont do Dungeons, its not your thing. If you want to dungeon, live with it or report it to Anet in the suggestion box to alter this in return for a change here or there. It might improve the dungeon as a whole.

As a player, all I can say is. You need to get better at investing your money. If you only have 80s, and you are tping somewhere for 2s and you die a lot. I can only suggest, to not tp away after 1 dungeon run, but stay there for an extra or 2. Finish all the paths, or perhaps walk to the dungeon.

Why do people want to grind dungeons?

for me its all about the tokens, if i would be able to get any decent looking armor whit wvw i would get it there but imo dungeons are the only source for good looking armor.

Actually the best looking ones are either secretly crafted by using “special recipes found in certain locations in the game” or random drops from mobs. There are many things out in Tyria we players havnt stepped on or had a chance to look at. Especially armour/weapon skin.

The debuffs have always been there, the armour repairs dont cost much. I die on average 1-3x per dungeon? I get downed probably 5-20x depending on the day, but a flimsy 11s repair cost for everything destroyed is nothing compared to the 30-50s you get from each dungeon run.

Why bother taking away the repair cost, people will just die on purpose, corpse run, bot, etc. The list continues.

Most likely both. Although I dont see any need to grind dungeons. I got 500 TA tokens within 3 days to get my “Gift of Thorns” without even trying to grind the dungeon. I just hoped in the dungeons when one of my Guildies needed more people. We usualy took different paths just for the lols, and to try to get more tokens and silver each run.

It didnt feel like I was grinding at all.

With random afks in between while we just did our own things or looked for a new member etc etc, dinner etc.

Cross server party seems buggy right now. I had an instance yesterday where my group couldnt enter Arah.

We hoped over to HoTW and we were all able to join. We had the same problem at Arah where everyone joined their own instance.

Anet did post on their recent updates that they found 1 bug. What bug it is we dont know, but they are locally testing it. Or have been for over 24hours now, and depending on how the test results look. Im sure they will implement the fixs asap.

There is really no ETA on any bug fixs, its fixed when its fixed. Im sure they have one of the most competent programmers out there trying to fix the bugs. (Before anyone comes to flame this comment, and say their programming skills are flawed, then you go show them how to fix it. Get employed by Anet, and prove to Anet and us how wrong we are. If you cant do this, dont waste internet space)

No, why would they close the dungeons down. I dont see anything wrong with them other than some small bugs that are being fixed right now, or are being looked into.

People need to understand the concept of a money sink before they post these comments regarding repair bills. You get more back from the dungeon in terms of silver and copper every time you complete a dungeon. Even after you repair all your gear.

If your not getting more, then you die too much and need to get better at dodging.

After discussing with the poster of the owner of the picture. I came to the conclusion that yes it is actually possible to do this path if you and your team know what your doing.

However I still think the healing should be fixed, or at least make the sparks less volatile. In return, perhaps make the actual boss fight harder.

3 path on 4 has the waypoint near Lupicius why not this path? If u die at Lupicius u have to run for like 4 5 min O.o

Well its possible to beat Lupicus even with the long run, but as Ive mentioned above. If you scroll a bit, you will see that the waypoint near Lupicus is probably bugged.
