- Fixed a bug that prevented Path of Scars from bouncing back when used near a wall or small bump in the terrain.

YES, PLEASE! Make it optional and turn it off by default, I don’t care, but I want to know who needs help in open world raids, instead of randomly going into cele form and spamming #3 and #4 hoping i’m saving someone.

Let’s look at the most successful game in world, they need to balance not only 9 classes, but over 100 champions, yet they’re always, always clear with their reasoning behind every change they make, they write extensive blog posts to help player understand what makes a healthy balance and never sugarcoat it. They even tell players about future changes loooong beforehand so everyone knows what to expect and can adjust to the idea.

They’re not perfect of course, nobody is, but ANet has a lot to learn from them, the way they deliver controversial changes and stay active within the community is vital to prevent this war between the devs and playerbase, to prevent this doubt within the community that they can manage their own game and know very well what the heck they’re doing and why they know better than us.

Take for example the ranger forum, ranger players have been begging, screaming and kicking for answers since day one, from pet changes, to ability buffs and nerfs, they’re begging for context, and they’re lucky if the devs in charge of the changes ever say a word, when the whole WHaO fiasco went down, the ranger community created a thread with over 20 pages long, and it took them a 20 page long thread to come in and say “yeah sure, we’ll look into it”. I don’t know much about other classes’ subforums, I hope it’s not the same.

Then they removed Ministrel amulet, this is a huge shake for the meta, it affects literally everyone that plays pvp, and this is their reasoning behind the change “Several PvP build components have been removed in order to promote healthy gameplay”. What IS healthy gameplay? Why is Ministrel a bigger offender than Celestial? are they going to give bunker builds a more viable alternative? DO YOU want bunker builds to be gone because they’re not healthy for the game? WHY are they not healthy? etc.

“We’re busy with HoT and don’t have time to answer to EVERY complaint from PvE content to every single class balance” Sorry, that’s no excuse, get a bigger staff, if you’re willing to dump half a million on a tournament you’re not in a problematic economic position, and this is more important than you give it credit for.

Your ammy argument falls flat. There was serious problems with that ammy. I personally know people who ran the amulet with a staff druid and a scepter focus ele and they would not die 1 vs 3. Depending on the comp sometimes they could go 1 vs 4 and not die.

The s/f build was minstrel ammy with rune of the soilder. Earth/water/tempest.

I dont know the druid build but please saying stuff like ohhh the bunker blah blah is not a argument when you have unkillable builds out there.

This might be obvious to you, but not to everyone who plays the game, or pvp for that matter. And what about the future? Do they want to remove bunkering altogether or maybe they’re planning to leave them be and introduce a counter? Sharing stuff like that is something that would answer many questions, and it would show they’re capable of balancing their own game.

Profession Balance forum has been removed for a reason.

Anet doesn’t need our opinion on balance matter.
They know better what we want and what doesn’t work.

Plus, Gw2 is F2P.
You’re free to play it or not.

This mindset is terrible.

How do you know they’re better than us? Where do I get that certainty? From my perspective all the recent changes were very panicky and reactionary.

Irrelevant, the game I brought up as an example is F2P as well. And F2P doesn’t neccesarily mean it has to be mediocre.

Hmm don’t you think you’re giving up too much for just a glyph and some mediocre heals?

Also in PvE you’re giving up a lot of might stacks taking Rej over WHaO.

This same build with WHaO, Sic’ em and Beastmatery can provide much more DPS.

As a side note, i find Lead the Wind to be mandatory if you’re using a longbow in PvE, Predator’s onslaught is required in raid fights though.

If they ever want to compensate somewhere else after the next batch of nerfs, this is definitely it. Vine Surge could use QoL changes, such as removing the initial cast, increase its width to match the animation or make it cleanse DoTs as well.

Hmm no ancient seeds? It’s a decent chunk of damage.

I don’t know how hard raids will get, but for PvE I tried both Settler and Sinister and the latter wins heads down, you don’t have to heal as much if you can take down mobs twice as fast. I’ve also been experimenting with shortbow despite its bad reputation which happens to be much safer due to its range and dodge. So far as I was able to solo every hero point champion without much trouble, granted rangers do have an easier time than other classes against big stuff thanks to our pets.

I briefly tried playing settler druid in the beta.

I got 2-shot by a P/P thief unload.

You’re forced to use celestial to have enough effective health power (in terms of health/toughness) to sustain yourself against both direct damage and burst. Thats how kittened up the meta is for build diversity…

It is weaker against ranged builds, granted they are rare, but Sublime Conversion and your own sustain should be more than enough to deal with a P/P thief. I don’t know how you got bursted down so fast, I can usually take on 2-3 people without breaking a sweat. Definitely don’t chase anything that can kite you, you shouldn’t be moving away from your point anyway, this is at its core a bunker build after all.

Already there. Had one of my rangers in full ascended Settlers well before launch.

Aside from the nerfs, it’s working really well.

Same here, unfortunately it was a waste of money so far, for solo PvE it’s not efficient enough and in group PvP you’re a burden if you don’t build damage. Hopefully they’ll release more challenging content in the future.

This is what I was having a blast with while everyone was getting bored to death with Ministrel, you don’t need vit when your effective HP is so high, and the Boon Duration was being wasted.

It’s very easy to pick up and master, Wilderness Survival and Druid (doh) are both mandatory traits, Bark Skin, Companion’s Defense and Natural Vigor are far too important and synergize too well with eachother to replace, not to mention the uncontested amount of CC/Condi removal.

There’s some wiggle room with the last trait line, I personally like Beastmastery due to the damage buffs to your pet, reduced cooldowns, and taunt to set up for Vine Surge and Ancient Seeds. Do not underestimate the damage of your pets, they count for more than half of your damage output if ignored.

As for Utility skills, Glyph of Rejuvenation is without a sliver of doubt the best heal available when traited, it’s a whooping 7k heal to yourself, 3k heal to allies, 2 condi removal and a fast casting speed for the cherry on top. Alignment may look weak at first glance, but it has a very low cooldown and a high weakness/poison upkeep, and when traited… no need to repeat myself there. Equality goes without saying, it’s your only on-demand stun break, and most reliable Ancient Seeds trigger. The third utility slot is your wild card, choose whatever you see fit, I like Stone Signet due to its synergy with Undead Runes, and to cover this build’s vulnerability against heavy CC.

If you’re not using Ancestral Grace for evasion or mobility, you can use it on top of your Sublime Conversion for an easy water blast finisher. It’s such a simple and effective trick yet so many ignore it.

Not only do rangers get access to frustrating amounts of daze but now they’re also rewarded for it with a free Entangle on a 10 second cooldown.

This is not okay, Daze is an unfun mechanic and it shouldn’t be rewarded in such a noninteractive way, either reduce the amount of daze they get or get rid of the snare component from Ancient Seeds.

ANet is forcing me to adapt every couple of days with their panicky nerfs, might drop Druid spec altogether until things settle down a bit.

What’s next? nerfing Natural Stride to 25% speed? Remove the bleed from Ancient Seeds? Celestial Shadow no longer grants stealth? Bring it on I can take it.

Druid isn’t mandatory you know, and, for the most part as far as solo PvE goes, is not recommended. You’re not gonna be using staff (or at least you shouldn’t) so AF is gonna be rare, Ancient Seeds are okay, but they could use a CD buff, 10cd for a mediocre root and bleed is not great, but it adds up.

If you’re going with zerk, then drop druid altogether.

Shiro/Jalis seem to synergize perfectly for me, Vengeful Hammer, Equilibrium, Enchanted Daggers and Unrelenting Assault work so well together, with Inspiring Reinforcement being the perfect tool to dish out DPS safely and guarentee stomps.

Everyone says Glint is much better than Jalis, and it’s not that I don’t agree but I’m having troubles using it effectively, Infuse Light and Chaotic Elapse seem to be the only strong skills in the kitten nal, and there’s barely any condition removal unless i’m missing something.

For PvE if you can get your might and fury elsewhere, Jalis or Ventari seem much more useful to the group.

Also I’d like to know why Vengeful Hammers are toggling off randomly.

The strength of this skill lies in its ability to bypass walls and terrain, not neccesarily its cooldown.

It was a necessary nerf imo, chasing was a bit ridiculous, and you could spam Unblockable to your heart’s content.

Man, I was hoping so hard that Eir would become a Druid after that story step… Braham takes her away to perform those last rites, but the amazing healing powers of the druids in Maguuma intervene. Eir picks up a staff and joins us to help search out the rest of her crew, Braham takes her bow and becomes the dragonhunter.

Yesss this is exactly what went through my head when she died, it’s a shame we didn’t get to see much lore behind each elite specialization. Druid still makes zero sense to me thematically.

Another Bug, if you kill a blighted character before using the rift (which can totally happen with conditions) you can’t use the rift and are forced to restart.

This is the 5th time I have redo this mission from scratch and it was never because of my own mistakes, come on…

In the final battle against mordremoth if you get hit by a rock in the air and die right after killing tybalt and retry this happens:

It fixes itself if you die and try again, but you can’t glide anymore afterwards making it impossible to finish, you have to redo the whole quest again if this happens.

Furthermore, the boss doesn’t completely reset and goes batkitten crazy from the begining as if it were the last stage.

Oh no, they nerfed it and swapped the activable? That’s so sad, on-demand smoke field was much more valuable to me.

I love the way they mess with us though haha, it’s like every patch they give us a fantastic new toy and then mercilessly tear off its head like a mean big brother. They tried to sugarcoat it with a “fixed a bug” this time though.

On how many characters have you unlocked more than half of your elite spec?

The majority of the players complaining either have a fair number of alts or primarily only play WvW.

One day, no, scratch that, 6 hours, that’s how long it took me to unlock half my elite spec and that’s not knowing the map at all and figuring out how to get to each hero point which took forever.

Once you know the map, it’ll probably take you a few hours to unlock all the hero points needed, itzel and gliding masteries included.

And.. people want it even easier..

I’m sure you know how this process works, but doesn’t hurt to remind you.

There’s always a vocal minority for everything, and they’re gonna pop up whenever they don’t like something and spam spam spam while most of the people that are enjoying it sit quiet and enjoy it.

If you make the game easier another group of people will get angry about it and you’re gonna get even more complaining.

You’re finally making the right changes, I already unlocked more than half of my elite spec just by having fun in the new maps and honestly it didn’t feel grindy at all, now I finally have something to work towards as opposed to last week, thank you so much for this expansion.

my only problem with precombat stowing is that it counts as a pet swap when you pop it out. not sure if it should

That’s actually a plus, you get to trigger carrion bond and quickness as soon as the combat begins without wasting your pet swap cd.

It’s the reason I’m spamming stow pet all day and it’s silly i’m not given the option to bind it somewhere so I don’t have to click it every time.

Lynx is great for condi damage and low cd taunt, birds are clunky but provide swiftness which your build is lacking so there’s that benefit.

Wolf is a must, no matter what build you run lol.

Hard countered by singet necro, and your setup doesn’t have much condi cleanse or stun breaks at all.

I say ditch Viper’s Nest for Quickening Zephyr or Sharpening Stone at the very least, and get WK instead of Poison Master.

Spike Trap is fine, you’re gonna need it vs. thieves.

Drop the sword, get sigil of smoldering (force is a pve sigil), undead rune, and you’re pretty much set.
