CC should be able to go through invulnerabilities without affecting their duration. This has always been an issue in this game.

Conditions are fine, the problem is being allowed to spread them while being untargetable yourself (evade frames for thieves and distortion for condi mesmers). Likewise, playing a condi build against a class with heavy condi cleanses feels hopeless on all imaginable fronts. I play as and against these builds on a regular basis, so this isn’t just another rage induced post.

ANet needs to hire a (or several) competent developer(s) to fix this whole mess, sometimes I wonder why such a beautiful and fluid game is so unpopular (600 regular viewers on twitch), then I play some pvp matches and realize why.

Protip: hit tab enough and you’ll eventually target the “untargetable” person. Hope this helps.

Your lack of detecting sarcasm astounds me. But if you’re looking for a legit argument, just go to page 1 and read what I’ve put there.

Right, when I contribute nothing of value to a discussion I also like to say I’m being sarcastic (I don’t actually do that, see? that’s sarcasm).

Your argument is comparing power to condition damage, which I agree with but has nothing to do with the post you quoted initially, so I’ll have to reiterate my previous comment.

Confusion used to be like that at launch, it got reworked because it became virtually useless if your opponent looked at his conditions every once in a while.

And confusion/torment isn’t nearly as prevalent as poison, bleed and burning.

If you want Toughness to reduce condition damage then you’d better brace yourself for another wave of bunkers taking over the meta and believe me that’s much worse.

What they need to do is decrease condition damage across the board and have it scale with power and precision (or some other new stat), unlike power condition doesn’t scale with anything meaning you can budget into defensive stats/traits without losing too much. It’s way too safe.

In the case of some clases it’s just plain bad design, condition burst should be a thing, condition pressure should not, right now it’s way easier to apply conditions than it is to remove them, it’s off balance.

Whatever happened to tactical use of conditions? Poison used to be there as a direct counter to healing builds, cripple and immobilize was used to set up combos, right now every freaking ability and trait has multiple conditions attached to it, which in turn forces the devs to add a ludicrous amount of condition removal to offset this, rendering the original purpose of conditions useless.

Mirage seems like it’s going to be the superior condi build in PvE.

Punishing people for killing your clones is a great way to go about it.

If you fall for their deception you get punished, if you AoE recklessly to avoid mind games you get punished. Something like confusion on clone death would work. It even discourages shatter spam for a more clone-oriented playstyle, it’s perfect.

Not worse, but not better. just different.

It’s strictly better.

A lot of people use the dodge rolls to get out of AOEs. mirage cloak doesn’t help there.

The benefits far outweigh the negatives.

You’re not supposed to use False Oasis the same way you use Ether Feast, it’s an overtime heal with a combat buff; you use it at the beginning of the fight, essentially shoving off 5~ seconds off its cooldown.

I feel like they could make it more useful if they either removed the mirror spawn outright and buffed it elsewhere, or fixed mirrors to be more consistent (like making mirrors grant a longer cloak).

use your healing skill before fight lol on a elite spec without sustain dmg and sustain heal or defense .
by your logic they could reduce a lot of heal to half coz they can cast before fight .

so you have to purposely lose 8k hp just to make heal skill use before right then for 25s u cant heal from beginning of fight ?

No, the heal is ticking while you take damage. It’s not being wasted.

I said at the beginning of the fight, not before. I chose that word carefully.

“Who would you challenge to a duel?” Usually, people like to win and won’t challenge anyone they don’t think they can beat.

There a multiple uses for dueling, a proper “duel” is one, testing a particular ability or combo is another (just ask your friend to stand still or ask him to attack you) or healing output/defensive cooldowns (VERY difficult to even test without dummies that damage you on command).

Dueling isn’t just “I want to prove everyone I’m better than them”, I have no idea how people got this notion.

Apparently it is, it’s not like most games give you a way to auto-decline duel requests or anything.

Honestly it’s a much needed feature. My friends and I like dueling each other; a lot. We do it all the time in other games, but having to go through the hassle of tping to the mists, finding an empty arena, teleporting again and hope we can duel without being interrupted by a jerk jumping on us, it’s just too much hassle for a 10 second duel. Especially if all we’re doing is trying to kill time while we sit in que.

Shatter spam is a chrono thing, let Mirage have its own niche.

Let’s give clones more life: Move Infinite Horizon to a minor trait, fix ambushes to be more consistent, give us multiple ways to trigger mirage cloak on our clones (not ourselves). This is a pretty neat concept I hope they invest further on.

If you trait for vigor and condition damage the burst is scary good (this means going Dune Cloak over Infinite Horizon), and you can do this all without giving the enemy an opportunity to retaliate.

You can figure out what works best for you, but I find that the synergy between damage and elusiveness makes Mirage a pretty good spec.

150 condi dmg for burst is nothing scary plz other class get this many stats gain for passive or even more .

You don’t get vigor for the damage.

Burn guardian only has one and it’s a viable spec. As long as you can keep up the pressure it doesn’t matter how many conditions you have.

not to mention you have to build clone much slower than core mes or chrono

my friend played mirage against me . i target him every single time he appear from stealth with axe 3 lol
and i just spawn aoe to clean out clone lol

I shatter my clones before they die to cleave, and the build I use doesn’t have stealth, so I can’t speak for your friend.

They had the perfect opportunity to replace the shatter mechanic with something else entirely, Chrono feels better to play around shatter (‘Time Catches Up’ is sorely missed :/). They added the only decent clone swap ability to a weapon that’s not very good; Axe 2 is unreliable (90% of the time you’ll miss it on a moving target, let alone dodging) and axe1 has abysmal range. Axe 3 is really good though.

Utility skills don’t feel very “deceptive” at all, mirrors are clunky and often untraceable in the heat of the moment, duration is way too low and clones are very unresponsive they don’t use their ambush ability half the time.

PS: I’m talking strictly pvp.

Jaunt is good to spam clones with the Self-Deception trait, not necessarily for its utility/damage, Mirage has limited clone generation outside of ambush sword1 so you gotta take everything you can get.

I wish Axe2’s clone generation were a bit more reliable, it has a big window for error in its current iteration (you’ll miss it 90% of the time on a moving target, let alone dodging).

False Oasis looks good on paper (8k heal plus cloak if you stand still for its full duration), but in practice it’s harder to squeeze its full benefit. Cd is a bit too long imo.

So, just as I thought. Minor boons added to some shouts, no changes on weak traits such as Most Dangerous Game, and utility skills like Sharpening Stone are left mediocre.

MDG has its own niche, not every trait needs to be viable imo, as long as it fits the playstyle of some people.
