Sounds like ANET took the gold from ya as your friend was probably a hacked or compromised gold selling account.
Probably not to be honest. It doesnt upscale you now, so i doubt they will change it.
That… that’s concerning to hear. Though the glitch was probably a tough one for them to fix, two months for a glitch affecting the gameplay of a class is mind boggling. Hopefully since they apparently have this fix ready they’ll deploy soon, like Tuesday as others are mentioning.
Oh they had it nailed down about a month into it, but they tested it for 4 weeks if i recall before they released it, to make sure that it worked properly. But yea, ANET takes their own time on fixing bugs(To be fair, i dont think they have that many people who are available to work on this kinda stuff). Hopefully yes, Tuesday!

The fact that this has apparently been going on for an entire month is absurd. Honestly the fix warrants a release of its own, instead of waiting an eternity for it to get shipped with minor things.
Not going to happen, you are going to wait(You dont have to like it of course, but you will). Rangers had to wait 2 months to get their class mechanic fixed(I talked about this in another thread and how it affected me being able to play). this could take just as long as that.

Thats a glitch. If you fail and set off an alarm it should trigger a phase where a bunch of inquest spawn in.
I am curious about the ranger beast master line. because BOTH of my rangers run different beast master builds! If they add all the points to pets as a base it would be very nice!

I run a lot of dungeons too and pressing f3 enough made my pet behave at all times, not a single kick, even though I joined [5k+, zerker only, gear check] type of groups.

That might be way you didnt, i refuse to join any group that requires AP, Zerker, or gear checks, and i cant use my F1-12 keys easy because of shaking fingers, so it got very annoying for me.
I for one would take passive aggressive pets over the incomplete armor eye sore any day. I also play ranger & got used to passive aggression so much I almost miss it at times. Every time I look at my missing boots though I have an urge to check forums, to press alt+f4 & do various other things. Even 2 weeks is an eternity when it comes to something like this & it’s been what 6? weeks now. I think the magnitude of this issue is similar to as if gift of light forging was broken..
I however understand that bug fixing is no trivial thing & it could be something immensely complicated, hence i made this thread ..
And i would not. I never got used to it because i run dungeons on my ranger. It got bloody freaking annoying after the first day, and getting kicked from dungeons because of it got to be something that happened at least once every other group, and it nearly had me stop playing the game(Cant enjoy the content i enjoy because my class mechanic is broken. Getting kicked because of it, yay fun!). So yes, i would rather have this, than have my class mechanic be broken, sorry.
Again as for your suggestion. if they went with number 2. People like me could just go buy the locket and trivialize the other two achievements that i have yet to do. Ive finished the story, but i could still go buy the locket. Plus, the fix will probably happen before they ever decide to do that.
Number 1, would work, but with a fix in the works, its not going to happen. My opinion of course.
And yes waiting for a fix is annoying, its always annoying, but at least they have one now!

Turret 5 is the one ive had it happen to. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I use the blasted thing.
Maybe they should just FIX IT….its been a known bug for awhile now…and if they can’t fix it maybe they should hire people who know what the kitten they are doing then.
They have a fix in the works, its posted IN the bug thread. Meeting the Asura(The one in which the mote is not appearing) Is going to be fixed. We rangers had to wait 2 months for our CLASS MECHANIC to get fixed. So yea, they take a long time fixing things.
Theres the post stating that they have a fix in the works. Might be one or two weeks before it goes live.
as for this suggestion, i doubt it will happen despite how nice it would be for those who need it. if it does, i could get the locket before finishing the other two achievements for the final bit in the story. (i have had the mote done since it pretty much went live)

And none of that will help what so ever. all you will do is get threads locked merged and make yourselfs look like fools. but if thats what you want to do, go ahead.
Support tried to close my open ticket on this today. I told them not until the issue is fixed. I urge everyone to open support tickets and force them to keep them open. Perhaps with a huge influx of trouble tickets for this bug will prompt somebody to do something.

All you are doing is being a kitten to those with legitimate issues to take up with support. I am affected by this issue, and i wont be opening a ticket, as support cannot help you, and it will slow down their responses to other peoples tickets. They are working on a fix, and JUST like with the ranger pet bug, it could be at least another month.
Well they’ve been working on it for over a month now and it’s still currently unatainable as it has been for the past month. I’m not sure why you say this is not the correct thread for this? I related it back to the OP.
Because, we dont unlock skills through achievements in this system. we unlock them through Hero points. Which we get from doing skill challenges, and leveling. Not even relatable to the bug you described. As for your bug, rangers had to wait 2 months for a bug fix, on their class mechanic. So yea, you might have another month wait.
Anet needs to provide some extra hero points for grandfathered characters so that players who have earned their unlocks through non-PvE methods aren’t screwed. Make the boost proportional to the % of traits & skills unlocked at expansion release.
This is a decent solution. I have 12 characters, i leveled all my 80s(10 of them) through PvE, most have about 45 skill challenges already. But If a character has all skills unlocked now, they should get all the skills unlocked under the new system when it goes live.
Hopefully they will remain unlocked unlike the luminescent gear which is currently locked behind a broken achievement that anet has done nothing to fix in over a month.

i doubt we will keep them unlocked however. it would be nice, but with a complete redesign coming through i could understand them relocking them. Annoying, yes, but i could see it happening.
I was actually talking to my RP guild about this, and i was wondering the same thing about them! It would be nice if Racial skills got buffed or something, i mean we cant use them in PVP right? so why not make them useful for PVE content.
Well to be fair people have been raging about balance since the game was released.
Many choices and good balance usually don’t go well together.
To be fair, i swear they start frothing at the mouth in my PVP guild when it comes to balance… Im hoping that this system is much easier for them to balance so i wont have to listen to it anymore.

I must ask, do you play with all of them on a daily basis? If not, then I guess just get the full unlocks for the characters you use the most. I only have 8, with a 9th coming the second Revenant is released (one for every class, 4 of which are the other races other than Charr), which is why I guess this doesn’t bug me to the level it would people with that many characters.
I have 12 characters and sometimes i swap between 2 or 3 a day if i get bored of one i swap to another. Unlike most in this thread though, i leveled them to 80 in PVE only and have at least 45 skill challenges done on all of them already.

Most of my builds are burned down to ashes except for the simple ones that have only three trait lines and clear builds. I think only one build will remain unchanged – my only zerker
The rest… well, I hope it at least will be fun and easy to work out new builds with the new system.
Again, as was said, they need to know what those builds are and what they do. I have one build gutted by this new thing, a mesmer fractal build that i havent used in ages because i found a new one that works better, while doing more than the older one despite using 3 trait lines
Caladbolg is a special weapon. Player Sylvari get to use it if they choose certain steps in their PS as well, regardless of that players’ profession, and with the same skill set.
So no, I don’t think Trehearne was intended to be a hint towards GS Necro or anything like that.

Only.. ONE of my builds are getting burned out of my 12 characters. Most of them use 4/4/6 or 6/6/2 builds already. I have one build thats a 2/4/0/2/6 build, but i havent updated that one to the build my other mesmer uses. So…

But we didn’t have personal banks before. We had a per character gold storage on our inventory that you could use at NPCs and the TP and an account wide bank that all characters could access and deposit/withdraw gold from but only at bank NPCs.
I never thought of the gold on my character as in a “bank”, it was my wallet. If I put it in the bank it mingled with the gold there from all my other character and I would have needed to track it manually. What we lost was our individual wallets, not individual savings accounts. We NEVER had individual savings accounts.
I see what you are getting about, and my wording sucks, i see that too xD No we didnt have individual saving accounts thank goodness. We had an account wide savings account. I used to take what i earned for the day in my characters wallets and put in the account wide savings account(Much like i do IRL when im doing odd jobs). That is what i miss. Sure there are ways to pretend to do that, but they are work arounds. It would be a nice QOL feature for players like me, its nothing important of course, but it was nice.

We went from a billfold and bank passbook to a debt card usable at all times and everyone in your family got one as well. And it has overdraft protection so money will be pulled from your savings account, money market, etc.
Mine actually does not, my card gets locked if i spend over X dollars in a day, and if i go to low in my checking(Which i very rarely have) I cant use my card till i transfer money, it does have overdraft yes, but i can only do that once a month. My bank might not be typical but i prefer it over what my parents have.
I still would love the ability to store gold in the BANK again. You know, what a BANK is supposed to be for. It wouldnt be hard to implement, heck the code is probably still in the game.
But as the poster above said, ANET has shown very little care about this topic after the introduction of the wallet, which in my opinion was one of the best: No more hoarding tokens! and the worst: No more ability to have a savings account. and this probably wont ever happen despite us being able to have it in the past. But this suggestion will still be thrown around the forums, much like dueling and mounts but less rabid because this doesn’t affect everyone!

The wallet IS the account bank. What they removed were per character banks.
Eh not really… they removed the BANKS Gold storage function. The per character gold was added to the wallet. At least thats how ive always looked at it. They removed the per character gold and added it to the wallet, and removed the banks ability to store gold in a separate location and made an accounts entire gold available at the same time. Something i have always hated. Just like i would hate if my bank got rid of my savings account and merged it with my checking account.
The point is, it was nice feature we had and while some didnt use it at all and dont mind it gone, the fact remains that there are players who are doing stupid work arounds to save their gold in a separate place when we had the ability to do so from launch. Not all because we have trouble spending gold.

i actually had to go through all my builds recently(Because i dont change the build very often after i get what i want) just to see what “Variety” im using… I dont go to any outside website, i make the builds in game on my characters of which i have 12 some are obviously repeats.
Ranger. One is 4/0/4/0/6 the other is 2/6/0/0/6.
Elementalist. One is 6/0/2/0/6 the other is 4/0/6/0/4
Mesmer. One is 2/6/0/2/4 the other is 0/4/0/4/6.
Warrior. 2/6/0/0/6
Guardian. 6/2/6/0/0
Thief. 6/6/0/2/0
Necromancer. 4/6/4/0/0
Well after seeing that, i cant wait for this, even though i lose one build on one of my characters the rest of my characters are going to get more things!!!
You all realize if your account gets hacked and your guild bank gets drained then you aren’t getting that gold back on a restore right?
The lack of self control over gold in your wallet is mind boggling. But I understand, you want it out of site, out of mind.
Want a character base safe way to “save” gold, here’s a work around? Put in low bids on high end items. The highest bid on Eternity is over 3500 gold. Max out each bid at 1000g and you will be safe from accidentally buying Eternity. You can get it all back by canceling. If you are saving for a particular item bid toward that item, upping the bid as you add to your savings.
But I imagine some of you Daddy Warbucks out there are also OCD about your TP and can’t bear to see unfulfilled bids more than X time units old.
As long as RMT use guild banks to move money around to avoid mail tracking, the 500g a week withdraw limit is going to stay. So adapt. The TP bid method I suggest seems to do the job of a per character method of storing money away from the wallet while providing instant access.
I do this, but its still annoying that we HAD the ability to bank gold in our account bank, and they removed that because they added the wallet.

3 lines PERIOD 1 line max ALWAYS 2nd line is only maxed if you choose not to spend evenly on the last line and 2nd, that’s not really a choice, one line is always gonna be max and the other lines will either be even 5s or you lessen one to 4 to max a 2nd its not a true diversity.

long answer: open world pvp is not necessary, that would be best kept to some kind of instance that a guild could que into instead. And trying to utilize the entire game-world for it would be a waste of time.

What was said, as Andraus mentioned, was that you will no longer get SP from leveling. Instead, after level 80 you will be getting mastery XP (again, xp, not points, those are different things). And to compensate, anet will introduce other ways of getting SP’s. There was nothing about converting sp’s themselves into anything.

You are wrong. This is a matter for support. I deleted a character that had The Mad kings memory on it(Souldbound) Before the wardrobe was even a thing, i never got the upgraded version. They for sure sent me one though. This is indeed a matter for support. That item had been missing from my account for about a year but they could still see i had it.
Last I remembered the actual strafe keybind was really bad. You could do a turn while holding down the RMB which would result in a much better strafe. But then that’s not what the game is calling strafe. The actual strafe from the game is really slow compared to the one you can do while holding down the RMB.
Had my strafe keys bound to “A” and “D” since the game came out(moved the turn left to “Q” and the turn right to “E”), havent noticed any difference between them(Which i use all the time) And using my right mouse button, but its more annoying to turn the camera(for me).
Hmm did they fix strafe its been a while since I played and strafe was very sluggish and felt like an 80 year old with a broken leg.
Theyve never done anything with strafing so far as i can remember and ive been playing all 3 years.
I think its going to be accelerated rather quickly here soon, i seem to remember somewhere seeing they wanted it restored before HOT hits but theres a few new things

I could swear your character only lost a bit of speed when they entered combat(To much regardless) But strafing doesnt reduce it…
I would so use this if it was added.
Bloodstone dust and company is something completely different because it is common material with limited use, and for the record, I destroy all I don’t need. Luck essences have way more use for non-extreme player. This so called problem with luck essences is simply artificial.
For now. In a year or two however, i wonder how many people will have maxed out luck then.
And ? Just because YOU , in ultrarare case, unintentionaly reached cap of some stat, it is problem and cap should be moved ?
Hes not asking for it to be removed, hes asking for something to do with all the extra luck. Doesnt seem like such a bad thing to me and i only have 155% MF….
I see small groups walking around every now and then, speaking in character about their latest achievements/fights. Always found this intriguing and find myself wanting to tag along.
We dont mind you watching! Lamping(What we call it i guess?) is how i got into RP
