First sentence, not blaming anyone.
Second sentence, placing the blame on someone.
You didn’t think this one through, did you?
Since we’re on about market education, it’s time for me to teach you why this thread is redundant.
There are several groups of people.
1. The opportunists selling their stacks and waiting for the price to drop. They like the price being high and will sell off all they can find while the iron’s hot.
2. The people, such as myself, sitting on thousands going “I have money but there is nothing I want to buy.” So when something like this comes along, we have a reason to buy. We have the resources to buy. We don’t care that the price is inflated. We just want to enjoy our new toys and feel better with our (kitten near negligible) improvement.
3. The people that absolutely will not buy at the price it’s at, seeing the price going higher and complaining about it. So they go out and play the game, salvaging what they can to gather their own resources.
4. The people preying on hype and scaremongering. The flippers. They are artificially raising the price as they compete with each other and the demand is high enough from group 2 that nobody cares enough about it.
So which group are you blaming for this economic crisis and how do you plan to get through to them that what they’re doing is wrong? You’re finger pointing but providing NO solutions to fix anything.
Ok, Laokoko. I think you need to be sat down and explained to thoroughly.
When people talk about crafting, they’re not talking about the clicking the accumulation of materials they already have. They’re talking about the accumulation in and of itself. This is also down to time-gated recipes and ascended stuff coming from very specific places, such as dragonite ore and dark matter.
Just please read the thread next time and not just the title.
I can’t believe Anet forced us to take 1 minutes of our life to click a few button to craft gear. That is so wrong.
Not to mention how painful it is to spend 1 or 2 hours of our life maxing our crafting.
And don’t get me started on legendary weapon. I can’t believe Anet forced us to spend 1 second of our life to click a button to craft our legendary weapon.
I rather compalin about that 1 second instead of the few hundred hours that is required to gather the material for crafting ascended gear or legendary.
2 hours to max crafting? Stopped reading there.
How come someone as skilled as you are hasn’t learned to dodge and attack? Maybe you don’t deserve the win if you think hitting sprint every so often is enough?
I actually unliked it because it had the most boring, irrelevant information spamming my feed. I was expecting patch notes as they were released, developer talk and so on. Not “Look at this screenshot someone took of our game on a low resolution!”
Regardless of how many tantrums are thrown by the people who crafted them, more avenues to get the gear will open up, they stand to lose far more than they gain by not opening up ascended gear to WvW players or non crafters, and they have already acknowledged this.
We get Ascended gear in WvW all the time.
As someone who rarely does WvW, can you elaborate on this? Do you mean that playing as normal will get you a chance for ascended armour to drop or is there an option for badges to buy ascended armour?
If you don’t enjoy stacking, then don’t stack?
Try that in a pug in any dungeon. See what happens. Go do AC at the spider queen. Go do the weapon test fractal. Actually play the game to know what people are talking about.
Now go, and have fun on your 3 hour dungeon runs. I’ll be here, enjoying my 10 minutes runs.
If it took you 3 hours to do something without stacking, that legitimately sounds like a learn to play issue.
Maybe I can help your 5 signet warrior streamline?

I like the Ascended weapons because they’re simple. They’re eye catching for the right reasons. They don’t glow, they don’t spark, they don’t have distracting moving parts. They’re interesting.
This isn’t Diablo 2 where we need gold auras to show that we’re wearing the best gear in the game.
I think the Queensdale champ train is damaging to the game in terms of new players.
They can do Orr. They can do Frostgorge. Instead they want the easy way by doing a tutorial zone without having to think for themselves. And when someone new comes along playing the game as intended, people jump down their throats.
Now, that’s incredibly off-putting and a terrible first impression for new gamers. I wouldn’t be surprised if the champ train in Queensdale gets destroyed by increasing the times for them to spawn by a lot.
I can’t be the only one who’s thinking that the chair stacking game looks fun.
Flying shoulderpads and clipping armors said “hi” to you…
Oh, you mean just like the clipping issues that existed in GW1 as well?
Exactly. The predecessor for the game that should have learned from the mistakes of GW1. Still in GW2.
Complained about long before you heard of GW1, complained about to this day, not ever been fixed. Maybe they should learn from Bethesda?
Because the game does not officially support languages that uses the cyrillic alphabet?
He knows that. He’s asking why.
Flipping is part of the economy. Nothing will get done about that.
RMT is completely against the rules and ArenaNet are already doing something about it.

Someone needs to remove their rose-tinted glasses it seems, because the description you gave of GW1 in your latest post is quite different from what I remembered.
There are quite a few nice armors in GW2, but stuff being nice is very subjective.
You don’t remember good armour, being able to max a character in a day, hundreds upon hundreds of skills and heroes?
You sure you’re not confusing GW1 with your WoW character again?
all “pay to win” arguments about guild wars 2 are invalid.
because you can buy gem store currency using in game gold.
That was the case when gold to gems was 30 silver for 100 gold…
And even then it was considered borderline p2w by VG press…..And nowaday its even more P2W since there is also GEMS TO GOLD…..
Either you’re new and you just discovered this or you’ve been here forever and just discovered this. It’s been like this since day one.
I keep a bin at my door under the letterbox for Christmas cards. Saves me the trip.
achievement points don’t mean very much.
back to the op, it makes sense that people you block shouldn’t be able to see your lfg posts.
I agree with the OP on the first but not the 2nd point. Achievement Points do matter as it means you have played the game. To get to 10k Achievement points is not by any means easy, and you actually had to play to get those points.
Anyone can spend time in the game. A handful of them can actually learn the game.
Just because you grind dailies, jump puzzles and living stories does NOT mean you know the ins and outs of Arah. Achievement points are utterly worthless as any form of measurement of game knowledge.
I don’t want a mount. If mounts are added in the game, I won’t care. I just won’t get one and let others that DO want them be happy with a mount.
So by most posters’ interjections, it seems you’d all be ok with those who only want to WvW to only have to get those areas for 100% world completion. Correct? I mean, they don’t like to do that, so they shouldn’t have to, right?
I’d be ok with it. All forms of gameplay should be rewarding. That and WvW world exploration can potentially take much, much longer than PvE exploration and requires far more luck on your side.
It genuinely doesn’t affect me if you get your legendary through WvW only or PvP only. So long as I can get mine through PvE only.
WvW and Orr completion feels unfair because it ultimately requires a big and well-coordinated group to accomplish, which is something that’s completely out of your control.
WvW: Yes.
Orr: Not even the slightest.
I have completed world completion 3 times. Orr was actually one of the easiest due to a lack of reknown hearts slowing me down. It was also the most profitable. If you rush right in and expect not to fight, you’ll die as fast as you ran.
Get yourself in exotics, take a few condition removers and cut your way through if you’re unable to run it. If your server isn’t capable of helping you with temples to make it easier for you to explore, find a site that shows you opened Orrian temples and guest to it. You get 2 free guests a day.
WvW took weeks, months and luck. It rewarded me with nothing. While people were zerging points I had already accomplished, I ignored them to go to the furthest reaches to explore what I hadn’t already. I wasn’t contributing to my server and I wasn’t alone.
World explorers and jump puzzle completers only take up slots for the real WvW players. We don’t want to be there, we’re not wanted there. But we need to be to complete a part of the PvE game that we wanted to finish.
Of course YOU don’t see the problem because you have them. For those searching for them, it doesn’t show up AT ALL. Hence, why people are rightfully calling it a bug.
I dont have them anymore. Sold them via the TP as I said. 1.6 gold each
How did you run a search for it? I want to buy them too.
They give you the tempo before the piece begins. That’s more than lots of musicians post-high school get. We don’t need a metronome to keep the beat for us. If it was implemented to help those without any musical training or background, sure, I could see that, but those are the players who will likely switch the sounds off and rely primarily on hand-eye coordination to finish the game.
Can I ask what you’re doing that you don’t even get counted in by a conductor? I mean I’m a professional musician myself and I’ve never once had the scenario you’re saying happens.
And just so we’re clear, I consider professional to mean I’m able to live off the funds from music alone. Being good at an instrument in your room, you could be the best in the world and make nothing from it. You’re still lacking real world experience when it comes to a professional setting, organising salaries, protecting your legal rights.
I’ve actually felt the opposite. The game is very casual friendly. You can be in any gear, run any skills and still win any content. Also, the rewards are very lacklustre and trivialises the end-game content by rewarding blues, greens and junk.
Yeah, and the people that appealed against it and got unbanned. Nobody batted an eye at that. It was simply a publicity move to warn the entire player base. They should have stuck to their guns because now people are exploiting left, right and centre in GW2 with no repercussions.
So you’re saying in the history of GW1, NOBODY had access to their storage and got to level 20 that way? Because I remember that week.
And you cheated, congrats, you must be really proud -_-
Next time you wanna brag or compare the “Legendary Defender of Ascalon” with your cheap “Shameful Defender of Shaemoor”, try to doing without cheating.
Not that it really matters -your time, not mine- but still…
A lot of you weren’t around at the time, but when the first guy got level 20 in Pre-Searing, he had very similar reactions for death levelling. “It’s cheating, you’re not really playing the game”, so on, so forth.
This person did what few would have. Just like the first LDoA.
By “donate to an organisation” you mean “buy themselves PS4s.”
Take advantage of the price hike, sell everything, wait for the price to drop substantially, buy everything.
Someone with no time to put into the game will NEVER need ascended gear. You don’t need to worry about it. Stick with exotics.
Surprised? I’m impressed. They’re actually on top of things.
Your last phrase gives away the reasoning behind your previous statements; you’re a casual player and play for fun. Well, just because YOU play for fun, that doesn’t mean that we all should play for fun. And if, SOMEHOW (miracles, tons of good decisions by anet, etc) gw2 makes it into a successful MMO e-sport, this doesn’t mean that you HAVE to stop playing for fun. You can still do your thing, no one will get in your way. But, there are people like me, who can’t wait to test their skills, see how good they are, without grinding ranks, without capping points, just fighting, fighting, fighting.
As someone that HAS done the E-Sports scene and won cash prizes, you really can have fun in the process. If you’re not having fun, quit. Do not waste your time. Do not waste your sponsor’s time. Do not waste the time of your opponent.
I’ve fought so many people who thought that Street Fighter was a numbers game. It was all about the frames, all about the damage per second, all about the S rank characters. They were predictable. They were boring. They never made it anywhere in life.
Then I fought some people that shared a true passion for the game and became good BECAUSE they had fun playing it. They were very unique, very unpredictable and kitten hard to read. They adapted, they knew the game inside and out and they loved every second of it.
It wasn’t a chore to anyone that made it to the finals. It was our love. The minute you tell people that playing for fun is the wrong way, you lose any grounds you have in a true E-Sport scene.
Maybe you should stop looking for the fastest way to win and start remembering how to play the game? You’ll make it to my level that way. I guarantee it.
Sorry, but orphans burning each other is just in bad taste.
I’d like to hope anyone who would suffer genuine moral outrage at that joke spends their time doing something important like volunteer work rather than hanging around MMO forums.
You make it sound like they’re mutually exclusive.
Easy. Skill over time. The definition of an achievement.
Next question.
I am not against these avhievs. I am against the number of targets. An average player who plays in the evenings have no time to do it all “in the process.” He forced to focus specifically on this to complete. This imposing of play style allready.
And yet someone that actually plays WvW more than for just the season one achievements would have done more than enough of those to have completed the meta in the 7 weeks it was possible without even trying.
What about someone that actually has someone to spend their life with? Or jobs? Or education? Or other obligations? The people that can fit in an hour a night at most.
I understand you’ve not got any of that and you’ve got all the time in the world for the game but there are people out there that do tend to take care of the real world first.
Usually it would be already up for ~4 hours. Probably they have nothing to show us.
True, massive rebalances + 8 new skills is “nothing to show us”.
Well, you SAY “massive”…
It’s not pay to win. It’s pay to skin.
Yes yes, ANet took your toy away and didn’t send you a personalized letter to let you know. Do make sure you let everyone know how outraged you are.
Well you know more than we do it seems. Why wasn’t it in the patch notes? Or do you only defend them and not actually work for them?
Buy a better sound card.
Sound cards do nothing with graphics.
Change a number or letter or two in your password if it really is as strong as you believe. That way it’s still just as strong and it’s brand new. Sorted.
unless you guys are hardcore WvW you can now use guesting.
also, 1800 gems isn’t that high. Should be around 20 gold.
It’s meant to make you choose your server carefully.
20 gold gets you around 900-1000 gems right now.
I actually do frequent higher level Fractals. The problem isn’t with the system but with the player. If you’re taking lower level people that are doing it for the first time, that problem lies with you.
If you’re taking people that are level 30 on an alt and really don’t want to look for group for level 1 and then level 2 and HOPE that people are actually doing these level of Fractals, then you can expect a clear improvement in gameplay.
Ascended gear is now more readily available outside of Fractals through the use of Laurels. I can have my guardian with 15-20 Agony Resist before I even get into Fractals. They’re by no means difficult with an organised group. This benefits people with friends or guild members who want to take different classes through the Fractals without hoping to find that level 1 party.
I think more here is being said about your level of ability if you have to worry about other people and a number associated with them.
I’ve only used DirectSong once for my signed copy of Skyrim music. The only problem I had with them was their massive delay in sending it and not keeping me at all updated. The Skyrim packaging itself was literally paper glued to plastic holders with paper spines an inch long, meaning if I keep opening it, it will eventually tear.
I probably won’t ever be using them again after hearing about this on top of my own experiences. When I bought it, I was thinking I’d have it forever, Based on the packaging, I’d be lucky to have it by 2014.
2 were added today in the Straits of Devastation and Cursed Shore. There are also some in Southsun that do NOT count towards world completion’s achievement (or so I’ve heard) but do count towards the world completion itself. Also, one was added not long ago in Lion’s Arch if I remember right.
