Once again, people are never content until they get everything they want… It what it is so wrong in this culture today… give it to me! give it to me now!

You know I can tell your EXACT age with comments like that? Because people older than you have been hearing that before the internet even existed. People your age with a lack of any world experience think this is something that’s happened within the past 10 years.

and I’m not a fan of mounts. It doesn’t fit in with this game.

what do you exactly mean by that. I see lots of ignorant ppl say things like this. The game can have mounts and they will fit in just like everything else. Just because you cant handle mounts dosent mean the game cant handle mounts. Keep your biased opinions to your self when discussing these things.

Oh the irony…

The classic scythe was actually swung low at the ankles and legs of soldiers that were in unfamiliar terrain. Soldiers from other countries tried to invade swamps in France while the French used blocks of wood to keep them above not only the swamp’s density but their own sweeping attacks. So the invading army had to retreat due to ill-preparation and being cut down horribly from a weapon designed to swing low and cut clean.

The scythe is no weapon at all, its a farmer’s tool.

Let’s compare research notes. I’ve been doing martial arts for 20 years so I know a lot of a weapon’s history, the countries they were used in and who used them. And I can tell you that both French and Japanese farmers DID actively use farming tools to protect their lands, the scythe being one of their choices of weaponry. And yes, it really was devastating in the right hands.

Your turn.

Sometimes I get the impression that I’m the only one that finds scythes to be extremely impractical as a weapon.

They were actually used a great deal in wars, skirmishes and battles. They were clean cutting and could take the feet from a soldier while some even had smaller variations that could cut limbs clean off.

A true warrior can make anything a weapon.

I’m a warrior myself. I don’t join groups with a ranger/necro/engi and when one joins the group after me, I leave. My dungeon/fractal experience has significantly improved ever since.

I believe you had some bad experiences with bad players and then blame it all on certain classes tbh….

Exactly. In fact, most people stopped reading at “I’m a warrior.”

“Cleric’s FTW!”

“Where’s this vista?”

“What’s a good build for ranger?”
“Uninstall the game! There’s a good build!”
“Use cleric’s, longbow and get a bear and spam 4 in every dungeon!”
“Pro build!”
“Join my level 30 dungeon! Must be level 80 in full zerker ascended with 21k AP because AC is very very hard!”
“Need guardian for level 1 Fractals because we’re bad at the game!”

Still a good idea?

I’d say report once. They do keep record of the reports and inundating them with the same report creates a bigger backlog for newer reports against different bots.

But yes, they do need to gather data and proof before they ban. People think it’s an overnight process and “It’s obvious! They don’t talk to me so they’re a bot!” But to be fair, I don’t reply to people messaging me out of nowhere either.

Whenever people talk to me, it’s because they want something. It’s as true in real life as it is in games.

You know what I really miss about the dervish? The scythe. It was a great weapon! I’d love to see something like that in GW2 and I really would love to see PROPER avatar changing into Gods like the Dervish did. Not these human racials where the Avatar of Grenth is black smoke and incredibly weak poison damage in melee range.

Darkobra.6439

Wow, why so much hate on commanders? SOME of us use them responsibly, you know.

I’ve asked for a refund since I cant use the comtag whilst its like this. And thinking about it, Im more than happy to let the whiners fail events since they obviously don’t appreciate that I laid down £17 to convert to gold… so that I could try and help them succeed at events.

Do you HONESTLY believe it takes your blue tag and your command to make ME succeed my events? If you do, get the refund and never tag up again. Commanders aren’t needed in PvE. People just need to learn to play and stop playing the blame game.

Believe me when I say one person with too much gold does not make an entire server succeed. WE do.

Clone Wars 2 or Why Meta Builds are for Sheep

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Darkobra.6439

you are aware that the triple wurm event is what is called an open world RAID right ?
as such it is designed with meta builds in mind and made as hard as possible to beat using mentioned meta builds, now imagine trying to beat that kind of content with your idea of fun build? from that perspective I say if you wanna run your cookie have fun build don’t go trying to join a RAID !

Too many people don’t question the meta and do what they’re told. You don’t know why you run the build you run except “Cuz damage lawl.”

Based on what? Against what? How many variations have you tried? How much research have you put into it? How can you improve it? What’s its strengths and weaknesses?

If you have to pause to think about any of those questions, please stop getting involved in build discussions. You clearly don’t know what makes a build.

You don’t really need to do instances to get exotics. You can craft them or buy them on the trading post. You can also start your own dungeon group.

It’s only a small amount of the dungeon runners that think you need heavy berserker gear exotics to do a level 30 dungeon. The rest are smarter than that.

Terrible post. I’m sure that hundreds of suggestions were made. If they listened to 50 and didn’t listen to 250…did they listen? What if the 250 were terrible suggestions (as many undoubtedly were).

Yes, many things players complained about and asked for did get changed. How many? I wasn’t keeping count.

I completely agree! “Stop our own allies destroying our own bridges for achievement points but instead only for a strategical manoeuvre” was the WORST suggestion I’ve ever heard!

Glad they didn’t listen to THAT one!

  • stop the game from being a grind. The reason people go zerk is to do speed runs. Why do people do dungneon speed runs? Because we need to make tons of gold. Why do we need tons of gold? Because mats and other things are expensive. Precursors can cost upwards of 800 gold, T6 mats for Gift of Might cost upwards of 400 Gold, ascended mats cost 300 gold, etc.

Right. Do you remember abyss dye being 2 gold? That’s because there was little money and 2 gold was a lot to accumulate. It was a dream to have that. Precursors were also 30-50 gold.

Now look at the price as the game has given more options to make more money. What do you think will happen if you further increase the income? The prices will raise again because there is more money to be made.

Economics. It’s a valuable class.

Sure is great to have players that aren’t interested in WvW sabotage players that are.

It’s always been that way with world exploration, dailies and jump puzzles. So people that have no interest in WvW itself have to go there to do the other aspects that are forced on them to “make them play WvW and see if they like it.”

I’d say “They’ll learn” but considering they’ve destroyed 8 years of experience developing GW1, that boat has sailed.

Should just make the suggestion that players can’t destroy bridges in their land or something similar.

Definitely not. Today I destroyed a bridge as an entire army of the enemy was crossing to our keep. Half of them fell to their deaths, the other half panicked and retreated.

Used strategically, it’s a very well played move.
