I wanted several thousands to slowly (over months/years since I don’t even have maxed crafts and I refuse to buy stuff from TP) create the backpieces. My only problem is that I can’t get enough of them if they aren’t available after the patch. ;_;

Yeah. Though I’d be just fine if they let us trade them on the TP, I can’t get enough of them unless we can get them beyond the 4th.

Lol, take the adventurer out of the economy, what would the flippers have to flip with neither suppliers nor customers?

If the game is that dead, there isn’t much point. It’s nowhere near close to that far dead.

Couldn’t fit it all in one.

Not true. There is no way to get a better price without a difference in time.

Yes, but often the “difference in time” is relatively negligible, 24 hours or less. It’s a very rare case in which a player absolutely needs his cash immediately, but often players are unaware that they can get significantly more for their wares if they are just willing to wait until tomorrow to claim it. If instead of listing only current buy and sell offers, the TP UI were to show the average SELL price of a given item over one, seven, and thirty days, then I think players would be far more likely to insist on getting the fair market value for their item, rather than settling for selling it at the buy order price, or picking it up for the Sell price when they don’t need it right away.

So you’re telling me that the average player is incapable of comparing TWO numbers, but giving them SIX more is going to make their comparing skills better? That is just illogical. If they don’t already know to place buy orders if they want items and sell orders when the don’t want items, then I don’t think giving them six additional numbers will help, but rather confuse.

The reason most people play to the game of the flippers is because they do not understand the nature of the market, they do not track price fluctuations, they do not test how long it takes for an item to move, they don’t not understand how much money they are missing and how little effort it would take to avoid doing so. To some degree that is as much their fault as a newb that leaves a safe zone alone in a PvP game and gets jumped for his efforts, but it’s still predatory behavior to take advantage of it.

If there is a factory worker that screws bolts onto car wheels all day, but they know they could make $1,000 a day with the same skillset they have now, do you think they would still do factory work? The reason that doesn’t occur much is because the factory worker probably doesn’t have the skills, training, and knowledge to be able to do that. Do you think a person who puts in almost no effort should earn as much as someone who does learn the nature of markets, track timing and price movements, and what they need to do to make more/evade loss?

If your supporting argument is true, then nothing we are going to be able to do will “fix” the issue because the players will still be too incompetent, illiterate, and/or lazy to participate at an effective level.

Bind on Purchase. It may not make the average player into market tycoons, but it would greatly reduce the ability for market tycoons to do it either, which would therefore raise the relative income value of every other activity in the game.

In other words, ruin some people’s fun and inconvenience everyone just so you can feel safe that nobody earns that much more than you while markets burn and items scream in terror as they are immolated on the spot? To stand on what you think is high moral ground while prices rise to drown those without money and people curse at Anet because 100 gems now costs 16 gold, since all those gold sinks drop away and inflation is on the high tide?

Without them, the volume of trades would significantly be reduced, the prices you get from selling your items would be significantly lower, and the prices you pay to buy would be significantly higher.

That makes no sense. Either the amount you get would be lower OR the amount you pay would be higher, you can’t have both at once UNLESS you have a middleman buying low and selling high. If the middleman is not part of the equation, then every product where the seller sells low, someone is getting a good deal buying it, and ever product that someone buys for a lot, someone is getting a good deal selling it. The difference is, the benefit would always go to an adventurer, and not to a middleman.

You make no sense. Either you don’t understand the nature of price competition and how the TP is FIFO, or you are just ignoring it to make a point. See: under/overcutting, common practice.

You don’t begrudge it, but you want it deleted from the game because you don’t understand it? Sounds legit…

I just don’t want them to be PvPing on the same economy I’m trying to use to play the PvE game. Like I said, I’d be find if ANet set up some sort of “PvP TP,” one that operates like the current one, only using items and currency that do not interact with any other aspect of the game, like the sPvP system this game launched with. I recognize the validity of the TP playstyle, I just think that it’s incompatible with the rest of the game.

See: What part of TPing is fun (hint: not finding half a dozen listings below yours).

The TP flipper adds convenience and gets paid for it.

What convenience do they add? Do they remove items from the players’ inventories any faster? No. An item sold via sell order is no less gone from the player’s inventory than one sold at the buy order. Do they bring money to the player faster? Yes, but usually only VERY slightly faster, the player could likely get the same price the flipper does within 24 hours, and it’s only a foolish player that does not have enough money saved up to cover himself for a 24 hour period.

Both of them remove the item from their inventory, they either don’t understand or don’t care. To be honest, if they can’t be bothered to get to that basic level of understanding, they probably don’t deserve the extra money. That goes for most of the paragraph.

And keep in mind, if flippers were removed, it wouldn’t mean that buy and sell orders would vanish too. People who need things for themselves would still place buy orders and people who sell their own stuff would still place sell orders, so if flippers were incapable of turning any profit on the transaction, the average player would still be able to sell his things instantly and buy things instantly, he just would likely get a better deal overall from both.

They wouldn’t ALL vanish immediately, but you might be surprised at how much less there would be. Get a better deal my Ogden’s Hammer. Sure, buy orders might lower somewhat, but, if the average player is as dumb as your posts suggest, the sell order would raise more if flippers stopped providing competition.

Wow, I can’t believe how many people want to destroy my dear, sweet, lovable trading post. It’s become an integral part of my game. As a mathematician that spends all day with spreadsheets, I absolutely love it. Thanks you ANet for build a game for people like me.

I get that attitude, and don’t at all begrudge it, but please understand that your gameplay fun comes at the expense of others who have to live in the same economy. If they can set up a “PvPTP” that is completely separate from the actual player economy, in which market tycoons buy and sell items in exchange for currency, none of which is actually usable or earnable through the normal gameplay and therefore a non-issue to normal players, then that’s great, but they should not allow TP players to profit at the expense of everyone else, no matter how fun they might find that gameplay style.

You’re missing half the point. I don’t, and I doubt others do either, find it fun to log on and go see “Oh, there are now 23 items listed below mine.” That competition isn’t fun. I’m not a very big, rich, or good TP flipper. I don’t have thousands of gold. I have a goal for my money, and I have a chosen method: TP. If what I get from it is, in every or even most ways useless, that defeats the point for me. Also, the Clothes Company Argument is valid here.

To be honest, if you don’t like the fact that someone is making more money than you, I only have one thing to say: L2P.

I second this.

That’s the crux of this, isn’kitten you don’t want to so no one else shoud?. I don’t care what the game was billed at, if people don’t want to play and just stand around the main towns chatting and use it as a social network…they have the right.

They do, they just don’t have the right for that to be the most profitable way to play. I

Why are we talking about rights in a video game? You have no rights to anything in it, Anet and NCsoft reserved them.

It’s actually a flawless argument, your opinion is just divergent from it. Flippers increase the amount all players can sell their items for RIGHT NOW and decrease the amount it costs for all players to buy and item RIGHT NOW. That is what they add, and that is why they are getting paid.

They do neither. The person selling to the flipper is someone who doesn’t need the item, and the person buying from the flipper is someone who needs it, THEY set the prices. Flippers can’t take credit for both increasing the rices players get for their wares and decreasing the prices they pay for them, when the flipper is always paying the minimum amount and selling for the maximum amount they can get. Without the flipper, the producers and consumers would each be getting a better deal on every transaction.

You are saying that flippers do not overcut other buy orders (raising the sell instantly price) and/or undercut other sell listings (lowering the buy instantly price). Both of these are common practice, and they work well too. So yes, flipper can take credit for both. The only better deals would be buy orders, which a lot of people are too dumb to use according to you.

Whatever your opinion of flipping may be, a world with a crippled TP should be an obvious nightmare

Only if you fix it the wrong way, as you propose, rather than fixing it the right way.

So, what is this ‘right’ way(see more below)?

~snip~

Don’t try to conflate “the trading post that facilitates the players” with “the trading post that allows people to make money from money,” as if the two things HAVE to be related in any way to each other. You can have the former no problem without allowing for the latter.

They may not have to be, but they are. Sure, you can have a tp that facilitates player transactions….but if you remove what flippers offer to buyers and sellers, then its like an intersection with no stops, traffic lights, or organizers: kitteny chaos and very, very slow

tl;dr if wealth disparity does prove to be a problem than there are ways to combat it. preventing reselling, however, is likely not one of them

So wealth disparity IS a problem, and if there are better ways to fix them, then what would these ways be? If you can offer a better alternative then I’m all ears.

I simply have to rofl at how someone talks about what would result from it, and you tell them that thats the wrong way, leaving that as a one-line response and alluding to a right way, but then demand a full alternative explanation from others. Well, I’d like to hear what YOUR solution is, that would fix those problems, yet still be the same implementation (bind on purchase).

Are you one of those people that thinks a burger flipper should make the same amount of money per year that an executive in charge of running a multi-billion dollar business does? Because it sure sounds like it.

Not the same amount, but assuming they put the same time and effort into it, the difference should not be the thousands of times that it currently is. I think in the current US economy, the people on the low end make way too little and the people at the top way too much, even if we can agree that the people at the top generally deserve to make at least a bit more per hour.

Someone already gave a good answer to this, but to add, how much skill does it take, beyond the knowledge of how, to run a machine? How much skill does it take to go through, understand, manage, and otherwise run a multi-billion dollar company? Just compare those for a moment.

If the TP flippers added nothing to the game, then they wouldn’t be able to get any gold from other players.

That’s a very flawed argument. You don’t need to add anything to take, you just need to be in the right place at the right time.

They do add, though. Convenience. They provide to those who are willing to spend more and get less for their items in exchange to get it NOW NOW NOW. How do stores make money? As an example, a company that sells clothes. Sure, you could buy all the materials and things, then make it yourself, but that takes time, effort, and skill. They do that work in exchange for the money you give them, some of which is used to pay for more clothes. In this case though, its waiting. A flipper waits for those who pay them and sell to them, in exchange for money.

Those other players CHOOSE to give their gold to the TP flipper in exchange for an instant transaction at a reasonable price.

Yes, but only because they don’t understand that they could get a better price with almost no difference in the time involved, and they don’t understand that by supplying the flippers they are making the cost of the items they need that gold for even higher. The flippers depend on the stupidity of strangers, which doesn’t mean that their actions are somehow just.

Either they don’t understand, or they don’t care. Both of them equate to the same thing: opportunity. There are only two ways you could really mean that flippers are raising prices: 1) Flippers overcut buy orders. This would happen anyway if the buyers understood how it works. Case closed. 2) Flippers raised prices by buying up low-value stock. This would generally only really happen if they are either buying lots of low-cost items for speculation, in which case, such as silk, only raises it by a little (I think the main increase was due to the actual demand for it) or if they are speculating on items that cost quite a bit and that they wouldn’t get easily with buy orders. I think this would only apply to a very few items that wouldn’t affect much of the playerbase.

Mystic forging for precursors

It takes around 250 attempt to make a precursor with the mystic forge. Still the drop rate for them is so low that it tends to be RNG. Overall I would save up your money first, then consider if you want to risk it. ~250 attempt, ~35s per rare, 1.4G per attempt, ~350g per random precursor.

Is that 250 attempts figure real, or just a guess/estimate? Also, is that using mystic forge stones, or not?

Ah, this reminds me of a similar discussion I once had with Ohoni in some other long-buried thread. Those were the days.

@OP: I’m no economist, so I don’t understand at an expert level how to make predictions, but I do know that this would screw prices over severely, as well as creating much more inflation for the casual player. I also don’t see how the casual player is negatively impacted by manipulation and ‘playing the market.’ The only way that really happens is when they are over/undercut, and that would happen anyway if there are enough people that want to sell that item and have an inkling as to how the tp works. If anything current ‘playing the market’ actually positively impacts the casual, as there are more buyers if they want to sell and sellers if they want to buy, as well as competition driving prices slowly closer to an equilibrium.

tl;dr I think you’ve got it backwards, OP

That hypotheticality doesn’t exist. You are pretending the LS is something very different to what it is. LS is NOT an expansion in the traditional sense that WoW offers. It’s more like a series of events, where there is always at least one happening, but the new quests, festival items, etc are only available while that festival is going on. I don’t see how getting extra sprockets gives you an advantage over other players. Better gear doesn’t mean you’re going to win a 1v1 fight. More gold won’t make you a better player. Gold in this game is worthless in all honesty, you don’t perform better because you have ascended > exotics.

Getting extra sprockets doesn’t give you a statistical advantage over other players aside from the actual chance for sprockets, however, depending on your definition of perform, ascended gear may make you perform (get bigger numbers) over exotic. I agree that gold doesn’t necessarily make you a better player, but it’s only worthless if you are measuring in player skill or something like that. Gold can get you better gear, etc.

Or because the 2014 Corolla made in January is better than the 2014 Corolla made in August.

Edit: Changed the month for accuracy

If you like the newer model over the older one, simply buy the new one. Both are functionally the same, only one has a minor improvement.

When you find yourself saying something along the lines of: “They’re the same, except for the differences,” you are probably doing something wrong.

Presuming that you spent $10 and traded gold for gems (using exchange rates from spidy, your amounts may vary), by not trading gold for gems and trading the gems you got for gold, you would have enough money to buy (@33c each, one more than the buy order, also pulled from spidy) nearly 20,000 sprockets. Using the pick to mine that would require about 100,000 swings, or 10,000 rich nodes worth. Sure, buying now with that gold may be a one-time thing, but unless you plan to mine THAT much with this pick (and this is per pick), that one-time set of buy orders just might be enough.

Statistics and math aside, I don’t like the pick, nor this idea. I’m not sure if I would call it P2W, but it sets a dangerous precedent. Even if it isn’t economical for most people at current prices, it adds functionality in the gem store that can’t be gotten anywhere in-game. Even if sprockets aren’t worth much now, they could be worth more in the future, and if we replace sprockets with X, X could equal any amount at any time, such as Azurite Crystals and Orbs, which are about 2.6 silver and 5.3 gold respectively. In the books we learn that there are secret ways into the city of ebonhawke. And if the Ash legion would use them in stealth mode, they could get the gate under their control, even before the Iron and Blood Legions storm the rest of the city.[/quote]

To add to what Tobias already said, the only secret way into the city we were shown was through the sewers. So, 1) I’m not sure if stealth works the same way in lore as it does in-game, so that may not work, 2) the charr have many other problems, such as the ghosts, the Branded, ogres, and the Flame Legion, so they wouldn’t want to bother trying to divert the forces to make an assault on a now-ally, something they can really use, and 3) I don’t think that even stealthed Ash Legion charr would be able to get in, based on the way it’s described. They would need to find a way to climb up to the sewer grate, open from the far side, and only then would they get in to suffer through the horrible stench and feel of the waste. Unless they quickly find a sewer opening, which requires inside knowledge or lots of luck, and would still need to unlock it, then get through the entire city, which again would require maps, an insider, or extreme luck, without getting killed, and only then would they be able to do what they were planning to do.

tl;dr Stealth may not work the same way in lore, they wouldn’t divert the forces to betray an ally, and it would be far too dangerous with too high a risk of failure.

I would like to point out that your statement on power creep would be accurate if it was in the literal sense of the Power stat related to the functionality of a character in battle. This is, however, a discussion of a power creep in the sense of one item that has consistently had a static functionality now progressing into the arena of now possessing more functionality than those previous versions, thus making the previous versions obsolete. It is not discussing power creep in relation to a player’s Power attribute, but of a power creep in the sense that this item is now no longer on par with all of its counterparts and is more ‘powerful’ in that it has all of the functionality of those plus more; this is vertical progression, despite not being vertical progression of armor and weapon attributes.

While I understand what you mean with two senses of power creep, I agree with what Raine said a few posts up: both versions of power creep do the same thing. Let me explain. One of the versions, according to you is where your attributes are scaling upwards. However, look at where these stat points come from: your gear, which is now obsolete, as you say, because there is something more powerful, even if it is only +166 instead of +155 (you can fill in whatever sets of scaling numbers you want). So, I would argue that both types do the same thing: one adds functionality, one adds more points; it doesn’t matter.

As to my own opinion, I will not be getting one because it wouldn’t be worth my money, gold or irl. I don’t know about the P2W mentioned in the terminated thread, but it does definitely walk a very fine line, and sets a dangerous precedent.

tl;dr Both types are the same, but the new pick was still a bad move by Anet.

Leveling by crafting?

DeShadowWolf.6854

You just need to get every craft to 400, not 500 to get to lvl 80.

This is wrong. You will need to get every profession to 500. As Cook and Jeweler only go to 400 atm, it is currently not possible to lvl to 80 just by crafting.

0-400 will give you around 7 levels.

Oh is that so? Now when you mention it I do only get around 7 levels per craft. But I assumed since 500 didn’t exist when the game came out and Anet basically told us that we can craft our way to 80 at that time.

Guess that was a lie

It was true, at launch. When they added ascended crafting, they changed the crafting leveling curve so that you gain 7 lvls for 0-400 and the remaining 3 at 400-500.

So why have the Charr assisted humanity/Sylvari with destroying their dragon annoyance (Risen) when they are in full knowledge of the fact that now humans have only Centaurs as natural predators. This leaves humanity in the enviable position of holding VAST swathes of farmable land plus facing a reduced threat from Zhaitan. They could easily eliminate one of their other foes – the Seperatists – by uniting with them and turning on… the Charr.

This would leave the Charr COMPLETELY beseiged.

Fighting Zhaitan first is darned poor military strategy from a race that prides itself on being militaristic.

As someone already said, Kryta is all of humanity on the continent Tyria (aside from Ebonhawke, but thats beyond the point). Humans declaring war on the charr would both get rid of the Renegades as an enemy of the charr and would endanger the last of humanity, except for Elona where they live or die by the will of an undead liche and Cantha, which refuses to open its doors, as well as potentially suffering from the affliction.

As far as i am aware, every charr is part of their military. They all belong to warbands and the legions. So having that in mind it wouldn´t end well with the humans trying to backstab their treaty with the charr. Especially not now, as the legions have gathered new intel about possible war engineering due to the combined work within the pact.
So it could well be now that the humans wouldn´t be able anymore to keep the charr at bay in ebonhawke. And that again would end with the charr having acces to an asura gate that´d bring them straight into the heart of divinities reach.
I think it´s not needed to explain why the humans wouldn´t want that to happen.

But in general i think the charr were willing to accept the treaty as they know that it puts them even more into a power position.

1) Between the farmers, gladiums, and elderly, that’s probably no small number, but I digress.
2) That plan hinges on the humans not either destroying or disabling the gate from the other side.
3) Yup, it allows the charr to divert more charrpower to the Flame Legion and ogres and ghosts etc instead of to humans

Sorry for the double post, couldn’t fit it all on one.

I don't understand Charr tactics

Here’s the thing: the charr fighting humans at Ebonhawke? They weren’t winning. They had stalemated that conflict being unable to break the walls and the humans remaining there couldn’t make lasting progress. To fight the humans of Kryta, the charr would have to get over the Shiverpeaks . . . now norn territory.

The charr fought the norn once before Eye of the North – they decided they were better off not doing that.

True, but the charr and the norn sort of formed an unofficial mutual peace treaty. In Gw1, that was what allowed them to cross over to Kryta, where their leader was killed by Saul D’ Alessio, but that’s another story.

Of course, if you were to secure Lion’s Arch for the charr legions they could funnel in people through the asura gates. Why do you think Evon’s warband was there in the first place? Except that didn’t . . . really work out, did it?

Reading through the short story about Evon’s beginning of the BLTP, it only mentions the people of Lion’s Arch being forced to pay for protection, and though higher-ups planning that sort of thing wouldn’t be surprising, it seems a bit far-fetched.

And the Flame Legion . . . blame Pyre Fierceshot and his warband for that mess. The shaman caste of the Flame Legion had been in charge for too long and thought themselves invulnerable and answerable to no other force than their “gods”. Pyre made them eat that hubris, and over the years between then and now others gave them helping after helping until they got driven back. Of course, you can’t just exterminate them, there’s some hopes they’ll just give up those delusions and turn traitor back to the fold.

“Blame Pyre Fierceshot” isn’t anywhere near where I would put the mark. Blame their shaman caste system more like. Pyre and his grandsire, Kalla Scorchrazor (where the real rebellions at) were exposing that their gods were not really gods, that their sexism was baseless (except for early resistance, which doesn’t count), and that it was just to get them rich and powerful. So the Flame Legion being enemies brought it down upon themselves, more like. Also, given their fanaticism, it is unlikely many will fold and give up their ideas.

And it’s been said here – the charr work best when they are focused on enemies. If they didn’t have a lovely target-rich environment to focus on they’d be turning on each other. They cannot sustain themselves.

The Charr born and raised in Lion’s Arch would have a word with you.

I don’t know about cannot sustain, but it is possible that they would go back to squabbling, if given the chance. Those in Lion’s Arch, unless they were just on a mission or something, would have little involvement unless they went back and joined one of the High Legions.

Unfortunately we cannot really go out and actually get things we want directly in this game. I know…..right…..So you will need to amass gold instead…..it’s rather sad imo.

What I did. Needed 100 for my legendary, so I got cores and promoted them. cores are so much cheaper, though it costs a fraction of a skill point per.

Personally I would rather be undercut by 1c than 300g. Effectively destroying values of things in a couple listings. Undercutting is pointless anyways, if you match the lowest seller the most recent listing will be sold first (same goes for orders).

You can also catch people offguard on buy orders if you match their price, instead of raising eachother 1c back and forth .

I think, not fully sure, that that isn’t true; I think the TP is FIFO, not LIFO.

this isn’t what happened at all. you might want to replay gw nightfall. especially the last two missions where the gods made it clear that they are leaving (and why)
this isn’t some sort of lore they made up for gw2 it is what was around since nightfall

In neither Gate of Madness nor Abbadon’s Gate do the gods state why they were leaving and that they were. In fact, the avatars state that the gods are present in human nature and that these characteristics were the gift to he player. They then give Kormir the gift of ascending to godhood.

The gods were not a physical force in Guild Wars 1 at all. Their avatars were. They left Tyria in 0 AE after creating and splitting the Bloodstones to contain magic. Since you have a lacking knowledge on the lore of Guild Wars, might I suggest reading the official Wiki? It’s a great source for newcovers to the world of Tyria.

Abbadon gave magic to man. War erupted (not the first one. That I was wrong about). The human gods, residing in Orr, heard Doric’s pleas and created the stone to draw man’s magic back and separate it from being pooled into single sources. Abbadon became enraged and fought, with the Margonites, against the Six. He lost, was cast down, and the human gods resolved to leave Tyria so that man could live free of magic.

Except that that is entirely unrelated. See, the human gods ‘left’ twice. Once, as you were going on about, after the Bloodstone/Abbadon fiasco, and a second time as Dragan was saying at the end of Nightfall when they stopped leading the humans by the hand. Now, pretty much everything you said is true, but it doesn’t matter. That fiasco happened more than a thousand years before the events of Gw1, in which the whole Grenth vs Dwayna was still going on. Because of that, we can deduce that they must be referring to the second ‘leaving’ of the gods. Dagan is mostly corrrect. I would recommend you read the Gw1 and Gw2 wikis, as they are a good source of what lore we have.

How did Wintersday originally form in Tyria?
What made it to be so much like our own (eg. presents, snowmen)?
Why do other races celebrate it if only humans had it in the fist game?
Do humans still do the Dwayna vs. Grenth thing?
Are there any differences in seasons for Tyria, and if so, how does that affect festivals and celebrations?

These are just my first questions, I’ll add more that I think of/find later.

I’d give that a 7 out of 10. I don’t quite see Sol as a first name of a charr, and I feel like the backstory plays a little too much on the ‘honorable nobleman claiming glory’ style (which is alright, it just grates on me a bit).

Charr Appreciation Thread

in Charr

DeShadowWolf.6854

“With engines of destruction, we have killed our Gods” sealed the deal. I mean lets get real here … anyone race can fight another but only the baddest race in any game ever can kill their Gods and become more powerful as a result.

I can understand why this race is the least played in the game. Its not the armor. Its not the feral appearance. Its the shear power of the race. Everyone dreams of embracing power but so few can actually handle it and the Charr are reserved for those that not only pursue power, but are able to hold it in their hands and be the better for it.

Quoted for truth!

I’d invite them to my bday.

I’m Blood Legion, so I’d invite hundreds of the worst the Flame Legion has to offer…..and hundreds to thousands more hidden Ash Legion to ambush them!

The sins of the Flame Legion far outweigh our former strife with the humans. What happened with the humans was simply war.

What happened with the Flame Legion was subjugation of the heart, body, and soul of our people to false deities. Never again.

Agreed.

Some quotes from our favorite Charr:
“If I wanted to stop you, Centurion, you’d be stopped.”
“The life of a charr’s worth more than the life of a human.”
“When I can see, I follow no one.”
“I’m not afraid to play with fire,”
“I’d like to see you stop me.”
“I’ve got three stuck between my toes, two more smoldering in the corner, and a new
one on my blade.”
“Unnecessary brutality? I like the sound of that!”

Oh, thanks, i forgot gender, so its 1260 new armor pieces.

This is entirely how it works, as every new item needs a seperate item code and design.

Race has to be differed as it is cultural, height and hairstyle has nothing to do with it, though.

Little bit wrong there. Charr and Asura have the same armor for both genders, so it actually comes out to: 1008. A reduction of only 252 pieces, but still, a reduction.
