Here’s a very basic topic to discuss, Burst. Is burst capacity too high compared to defense? Is power creep an issue to address in the feature pack?
For me, I think our burst capacity is a bit too high. Even with the crit damage reduction earlier this year. This is solely aimed at WvW specs. Since power scaling is most effected there.
As someone who frequently run’s along [iD], I can tell you they are pretty solid group of players with a high skill set. They also maintain a great balance of maturity and fun. No matter if it’s in WvW, EotM, FotM, PvE, or Dungeons, they have fun in TS.
Highly recommend this guild.
Thus the 1% is “right” and the 99% are “wrong”.
Good job at math and morals…… #smh
I hate the atmosphere these “trains” usually bring with them.
You mean a group of people working together for a goal? That is, above all, seems to be the atmosphere anti-social players dislike most. Hence, the reason why the Dev’s need to stop feeding them by catering to every complaint thread.
It’s very easy to pick different Mega Server layers. Specifically choosing to disrupt a large group of players should be the banned offense.
I haven’t even been in Orr to know what this is about but, there is and should not be anything wrong with intelligently maximizing the profit potential from any game mode. Honestly, you want to punish intelligence? Punish something everyone can be a apart of???? Heck, if maximizing profit potential is a “bad” thing then every player trading and speed clearing should be banned right now.
This incessant whine about being anti-train and anti-farm has got to be labeled for what it is, jealousy. These players simply want zones all for themselves. Never wanting another player enjoying themselves or profiting from the game in any way, shape, or form.
[fake] 100 points: “You get a warbanner as your elite skill with a 30s cooldown” gg.
LoL yes please?? Though the extra power, precision, toughness, vitality, AoE heal, and safe eject (depending on invulnerability duration) is more than enough to make them better at defense too.
Sadly any changes that have been made to WvW and the upcoming golem mastery have done nothing for defending an objective
Ever run into a Garri LR filled with Golems???? Good luck with taking it
Guilds are becoming more like gangs than like community members.
Becoming???
As I just wrote on another thread, it has always been up to us as a WvW community to create the game mode. Every issue is a personal player issue that we created and need to address.
Nerf the rewards of EotM and no one would go there anymore. People don’t play the map because it is great. Most people go there to level alts, increase wxp, or gain karma.
The map itself it a failure.
If you keep nerfing, more people will just stop playing the game, period. At least players are still logging in and engaged while in EotM.
For WvW, I think most have tired of it. Tired of the 24/7 meta, tired of putting in over time, tired of the expense, tired that it’s simply one of the most inefficient ways of obtaining wealth in game. That’s why EotM has become more popular. It’s a fun care free game mode with better rewards. Yet, still has fights, still has siege, still has structures to take and defend. Even has great transforms to run around the map with.
For the notion that the upper tiers are GvG, T1 is not GvG at all. There are far too many players in T1 for it to be a GvG game mode. If anything, I think T1 is the last bastion of WvW left in the game. We’re doing an ok job of balancing. An ok job of win sharing. It’s the best we can do, as a whole community, to keep everyone happy and engaged.
I think we can safely say we’re only trying to keep the tier balanced. This screen grab is right now, during prime time NA. Which is why JQ is a great place for any guild looking for some T1 fun. There’s always plenty of enemy’s to challenge and entertain your guilds.

I thought the same thing after buying the Chaos Axe on my Human. I was like “whoa.. too big!”
so entitled
everybody wants something for nothing
Wanting to be special in a couple of hours, that’s also a definition of being entitled. Where is the value of work in this scenario? If someone can apply effort and persevere, they should be able to achieve it. Not this super limited supply chain of having tournaments once in a blue moon. We need multiple avenues to success in game. To let each player take advantage of their unique capacity.
Why use golems when you can use siege devourers?
The fact that one even thought of EotM as WvW is sad…. truly sad. It why siege prints should be removed from EotM and have them exclusively used in actual W3. Let’s have more transforms and such for EotM.
Since they said you can get a refund if you bought more than 4 blue pins, I’m thinking Blue Pin 1-3 just gives you one account bound blue after patch. 3 of them being equal to the new 300g pricing. So I would not buy any extra blue pins right now in hopes of getting to chose new colors after the patch. This of course is one of the things they REALLY need to clarify ASAP.
Prestige is laughable concept in any game. Couldn’t care less about what you have or think you have. Limiting choice, now that’s something I do care about. And, a game where the end game is appearance items, it should not limit choices. It’s simply not good economically.
In WvW it isn’t needed either, just be in ts3 and you know where to go.
Wha???….. Many of us in the WvW community have been asking for colored pins. Thus, why would we be asking if there wasn’t a NEED for them?
Anyone thinking 300g isn’t a metric bleep ton of gold isn’t a WvW player. I’ve never had 300g in my bank, ever! Bleeping dungeon runners and flippers are skewing the economy to the Nth degree. JS better stop staring at spread sheets and start playing!!!!! Because he’s obviously clueless on what the actual rewards are per game mode.
Here we go with great excitement for the future feature pack being completely nuked by Anet being way too greedy.
I’m still running my alt’s thru and it is quite tedious. I haven’t even gotten to doing the achievements yet.
Especially while being on my Norn for the first run through, I was ready to punt Phlunt into the Mist! At least it gives poor Rytlock a chew toy to play with while he’s down there.
If you’re looking for T1 action, JQ still has plenty of room. Especially if you play during EU prime.
Well JQ looks like their hurting for numbers compared to the other 2 servers in T1
That would be correct, we’re lucky to have a single queue 2 hrs after reset even. Our Sea is just an impressively well oiled machine. If anyone wishes to come up for some T1 fun, please do come over to JQ. Especially if you play during EU!
You can find more info on this thread:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/wuv/recruitment/Jade-Quarry-Seeking-more-for-WvW
I’d like Anet to address the basic issue that the game population cannot support 24 worlds any longer in NA. I don’t know if it’s the same for the 27 EU worlds.
Once they stripped worlds out of PvE, the community of our Worlds was going to fall apart. It was an inevitable conclusion. From what I can see, it appears far more players prefer to run around in EotM for a few hours of fun and forget about the 24/7 design of WvW.
So if a few folks want to spend obscene amounts of gold for virtually no return, let me and laugh.
I honestly am barking at both sides of this debate. Because both sides are completely inflexible and want absolutes. GW2 should be inclusive and the Dev’s better get this into their heads. What EotM needs is layer choices!!!! This way we can simply jump from layers that are offensive to layers that are more Defensive. We need choice and options, not forced designs.
I hope we can exchange our queen Jenna’s because honestly f@%! having 8 of those.
That’s cute.
Plus another 9 on the way!
Even I have to ask, why? At least I spread mine out over multiple accounts. Which yeah, is biting me in the butt with all the account binding in game now.
I’m ready for a Miracle! #crossesfingers
Yeah, I nearly fell over when I first read it. Then reality set in…..
Ugh…I hope not. I hate conditions. =(
celestial with Scholar. thank me later
I’ve been playing P/D condi for a while. I actually like the game play but, full condi just doesn’t feel like the most efficient use of the weapon set. So I’ve been considering trying some Celestial already.
hahaha this thread is becoming a troll!
I know right! What the heck did you guys do to my thread??? I was being serious about a new weapon and you took it WAY far afield. I’m thinking Ele’s lightning whip but, flames instead of electricity.
GG smh….
IDK, I’ve tried to play with Venoms but, I’m losing movement speed, blinds, stealth, and regen. I just cant imagine leeching Venom’s being able to give much sustain in large scale fights in WvW.
Now having them using MY stats’s, that’s going to be huge. So, I’ll certainly be testing them again.
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with running a train in EotM. You see, there’s this thing called instances. Where, if you don’t like what the MAJORITY of players are doing on the one instance, you can leave and go to another instance.
For the “tough guys” whom think there little group can go in there and wipe the train, better be careful, they aren’t alone. Every since these few whiny players started complaining, we’ve been going in to hunt guild groups. You can’t take the easy way out and hide in EotM.
I’d love a Whip with a heavy dose of condi based skills. Said it a long time ago and still think it would be an excellent weapon for a thief. I would like a Flaming Whip too with burning! The level of epic would be so high with that. Just Google flaming whip and you’ll see what I’m saying.
Legendaries should have more functionality. I’d like skill variants too. Well, I’d like a selectable power and condi based skill per weapon. This, blending of both power and condition damage skills for each set could be done better.
AC weapons are the definitive way I use to tell if it’s night or day.
IF failing an event is more profitable, then it certainly should be allowed. Because, it’s the Dev’s flawed design that is not properly rewarding success. Besides, what if it’s more fun or more challenging to fail it? Why should playing different ways even bring one to calling it an exploit or cheating? There’s WAY to many people trying to demand how others play as it is.
The dev’s appear to purposefully created holes in the design to allow grieving/trolling. If that’s true then Anet should not say anything about players failing events. Boos Blitz was a perfect example of poorly designed reward system. One easily remedied by giving out no rewards unless a player donated and only giving out karma for getting bronze, silver, or gold. Not for each individual boss as they designed it. They easily could have patched it but, never did.
For the Linen farming, that wasn’t about failing the event as much as it was about botting.
I complained about this here on the forums the day the ore pack came out. This was for Hoelbrak and why the heck they are all the way on the other side.
I believe this is the first time I’ve heard anyone use the term “clan” for this game.
This would have to be an acct wide aggregate, like WvW rank is. I play WAY too many alt’s for it to be lock to +80 levels per character. If it was some how retroactive, Muahahaha… that would be great.
Come on, no other players have characters that appear like Pop culture characters or icons? Where’s our Hulks even?
Noticed this link on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10152393507864209.1073741843.114036714208&type=1
I’ve crossed path’s with most of those already listed. I know there’s many more out there! So my fellow Tyrian’s, post it if you got it!
Late to commenting on this. At least some layers have been working and I’ve spent hours actively taxiing players from bad to good layers. Let’s keep helping each other the best we can while the dev’s iron out the issues.
FR is generally hated because they defend their keep a lot
I call the FR Keep “Troll Hollow” for a reason In fact, I’m sorry OP but, I’m one of the red’s front and center in your top pic. Probably my Meteor storm in the lower too. We only did it for a couple of minutes though then left. It wasn’t intentional, I was just running past the forge when I noticed your side trying to T-bone our Train. Then that Cosa guild came up behind me and chased you.
I’m all about creating a fun balanced environment. The recent PR campaign against EotM trains has left me a bit overly aggressive in there. If any side tried spawn camping for anything over a few minutes though, they’d get barked at loudly.
Anet not making money on WvW? What the heck am I using my finishers on in PvE? And, really the only thing that pushes me to spend to get Asc gear is WvW.
Upon thinking about this further, a neutral time period before reset might not be a bad idea. IF (keyword) it allowed WvW players time on map to get ready AND ensure reset took place PROMPTLY ON TIME.
Yes, the Dev’s REALLY need to tighten up their designing to prevent grieving. Especially as the game’s population dwindles, the ratio of good players to trolls, appears to be shifting more toward trolls. There are simply less good players to keep this type of occurrences from happening.
Sorry to hear this happened OP.
LB + Axe/wh is actually my preferred play style! I have two Ranger’s so I approve of these updates.
….. But, even I have to admit, the Rapid Fire is going to be pretty bursty. I guess instead of dodging just a portion of it, you will be able to dodge all of it with the shorter cast time. Only thing I’d add as a suggestion is that stealth should break the channeling as dodging would. Stealthing should be treated as an active form of defense.
The dev’s really should rethink that Rapid Fire change. I swear they never test or play with maxed WvW specs. The initial burst from LB is going to too high.
But, I have two LB Ranger’s already soooo…. I guess I should be happy.
Pretty much yes, PU Condi Mesmer’s are OP in WvW. More so, the question should be, what does this combat style add to the game? I never heard anyone express fun or joy after taking on a PU Condi Mesmer. It’s not really the Mesmer’s fault, it’s still an issue of Perplexity Runes plus Dire gear on a Mesmer with DE.
i just dont see how its hard to burn the item you steal if you dont even want it by the time your next steal comes up.
In WvW, when I’m soloing, that valuable time being spend discarding instead of fighting. I’d agree on an F3 that removed the stolen item without an animation that slows my combat.
