Or…… maybe EotM is not only more rewarding, it’s more fun too. Maybe players like and prefer to go into these short 3hr matches? Maybe players like and prefer the carefree fun of just fighting and not having the guilt and pressure associated with 24/7 PPT’ing?
Leave EotM alone, it works. As a game mode, it’s even working better than the regular WvW maps. You have a beef about WvW, then stick to finding solutions to WvW. Do not try to steal the fun away from others and force them to play the game your way.
Oh, and there are players and Commanders transitioning from EotM into the regular WvW maps. Sooo…. there’s that going for EotM too.
seems like youre about 8 times as likely to get a wvw boost as any other boost
maybe 10 times
Happily so, it’s why I bought it.
I’ve never hit this limit personally. Though the dev’s should consider the level at which players taxi during events like this and boss blitz. LFG is pretty much a requirement to taxi to an active/organized map.
nice pump and dump attempt
Summed up perfectly.
For those complaining about Fractal Tonic, go make another thread. Just because the drop rate of one item in game is poor, doesn’t give an excuse or reason to keep another item at such a level. Designing down to the lowest common denominator isn’t a good way to design.
EotM Koda transform won’t stop yelling! It’s doing the voice effects of falling yet, repeatedly for no reason. Not even the right race or gender for my character either. Tried resetting the client, same thing. It’s happening to others on map too.
Just FYI Dev’s
(edited by DeWolfe.2174)
Never mind….
I keep track of the output of each stack I open. All of a sudden today, an item I’m noticing dropped by half. Could be just an odd streak, as I said. Going to open another 1k and then wait a day.
We’re going to have to wait and see if it get’s added in. There’s no way around it in game at the moment.
Anyone else notice a difference today while opening Trick or Treat Bags? Either it’s a bad streak of RNG I’m experiencing but, the past 1k bags this afternoon seems different. Anyone know if the tables were adjusted? And no, I’m not referring to Gwynefyrdd.
I love ’em. Hope that Anet get even more creative and add ones that make you turn metallic or golden.
Heck yes. Metallic one please.
Nope, to similar to the Juggernaut. I am all for adding new ones, but they shouldn’t touch on effects from existing legendary weapons.
I completely disagree since Hammer is only for Warriors and Guardians. A dye shouldn’t be profession bound.
- The reason why the armor class system exists is to help differentiate the professions a bit in PvP/WvW. Outfits remove this differentiation and thus cannot exist in PvP/WvW for this reason. This reason is also why ArenaNet recently added the default appearance option for PvP(/WvW?).
I still call so many levels of BS on this. Asura’s, in themselves, break any form of “profession appearance”. Since Asura’s are the size of a tick-tac on screen. So unless they want to remove the entire race, this will always be a greater issue.
Outfits work in WvW. Just fyi
For me, I wish my Human Necro glowing eye’s would work. Would look SO much better.
Now, add owning multiple accounts to this crazy, ugg. Really annoying….. I really don’t know why the drop rate has to be this low? How does this benefit anyone?
Oh, that is so awesome! Thank you for sharing this!
Yes, thanks a bunch!
Gaile, can we get a patch to get this back in game say, for Tuesday? This thread show’s there’s a desire for it to be. For me, I already have it.
This game needs exclusivity like it needs a server cluster made up of 286 IBM’s.
You can collect pages but luckily there is no way to combine them to a book.
What do you mean “luckily”? If anything it should be unfortunately if true.
And here, I just asked for a permanent Hylek Hue Dye last month! GJ Anet!
For those complaining about the stats, GG seriously??? You won’t notice a difference in game play at all. Also, I do believe there are several other account bound exotic accessories in game already if you bothered to look.
OP, I too noticed this effect while swimming.
After 16 months, I’ve already broken a keyboard and even a couple of buttons on my gaming mouse are beginning to collapse. Then add in the negative health impact of all the clicking. Equals this game should have some form of built in auto clicking or binding. If it’s built in, then there’s no special advantage as you’d all have access to it.
The term “sport” has become so valueless today, that just about anything can be called it. For me, if Anet was going to toss around $50k, I’d much rather get another full time Dev so we can all benefit.
Here’s a quick suggestion, since they asked, put a box for “custom amount”. Just one box so we can type in exactly how much we want to buy. If I needed say, only 30 gems, I’d buy that with in game gold. That is after my initial bulk purchase of gems with cash.
As if Precursor drops wasn’t already an in game lottery, we now have this….. Do I like it, not really. I’m confident there’s probably 5% of the player whom have had “lucky” drops and think it’s great. For the rest of us, more than likely we won’t like it.
Whomever is pulling the strings on the economy needs to have his authority reduced. Purposefully making us over buy gems is cheap to the point of a slap in the face.
Nothing should ever be exclusive.
I have probably 16 characters with WvW map complete. Yet, only 2 with PvE map complete. And of course, never a precursor drop even after 4k+ hours played. So, I wouldn’t say WvW maps are the hardest, the most tedious, or the most boring part of getting map complete and a Legendary. Doing hearts, oh now there’s suckage…..
Without question such a system would create a handful of Omniblob Guilds using several different tags to abuse said system. Such a concept inherently shuns the individual and family guilds. Or, such a system would bully them as it forces the individual to join the “gang” if they wish to play. With that said, no thank you to such a concept. Anet must continue to keep control mechanism’s in place for the health of their players.
I completely agree with Shadow. I’m firmly against replacing worlds with Guilds. As guilds are too unstable and poor in building large communities. I’m only guessing but, isn’t there something astronomical like 25k+ accounts per world? Far beyond anything a guild could do.
I despise what the megaservers have done to server identity and communities in PvE
I do agree with you on how detrimental the Mega Server was to our community. We don’t even have a form of communication with our community in game. Thus, maybe “Worlds” should be tossed aside for new names and have new themes created. That might bring renewed interest into the game actually. Would be a perfect time to introduce a new race and profession too.
PPK is going to reward omni-blobbing. Forget any small man fun. It’s going to be blobbing, bunkering, turtling, and hiding behind walls to win. When dieing wasn’t penalized, players were free to engage any fight, any time. Then bloodlust reduced the times in which we could yolo for fun. Now, with PPK, that fun will be gone for good.
Even when we had armor repair cost, I always engaged a fight no matter if it was v2, v5, or v zerg. My motto was, if you aren’t going thru a couple of sets of armor repaired in a night, you aren’t trying hard enough.
@OP, if it helps your friend, let him know the person whispered because if he tried saying that in regular map chat he’d more than likely get put in his place for it. Individuals that this person whom whispered your friend is why WvW as a game mode continues to spiral downward.
There’s plenty of beneficial things a player can do in WvW on an up level. Though as mentioned, you friend could possibly enjoy EotM more and level faster too.
Some low population server can only rally 5-8 people on non-primtime hours. Our keeps will get stolen so easily now. There’s no need to upgrade anything anymore.
Correct and I think that’s what they want. The more I think about it, the only conclusion I can come up with is they want greater turnover. Greater turnover is economically more rewarding. Maybe they are hoping WvW would attract a wider player base is stuff flip’s more like EotM does? Maybe they have a new reward system they are keeping quiet to surprise us with? I don’t know, I’m just trying to make sense of it.
My initial reaction to removing white swords was, WTH? Yet, I can see where they may want to do this to increase an objectives turnover rate in the upper tiers. We should ask ourselves, are keeps not flipping for days, sometimes not even once the entire week adding fun? Conversely, removing swords would thin out players by dramatically increasing the need for scouting. Though shouldn’t scouting be alleviated to the point of being removed? It has to be one of the worst parts of WvW game play now.
Maybe add EotM style Sentries as part of the upgrade to towers and keeps? This way you’d only need scouts until the objective is upgraded. Placing more importance on upgrading and upgrading quickly.
I rewarded a few players whom grabbed BL with 2g each. Money talks
The original problem with Server Status is that it is not a proper indicator of an active WvW population. Server cap’s had to be raised, in my opinion as I stated it to a Dev, because the pre and post season transferring had fractured many guilds across servers. Players had to be allowed to get to their destination to be reunited. From there we can work on balance and other matters.
Having Teirs with respective participation and meta’s is good for the game. Attempting to thin out and divide the remaining WvW players across the 24 NA server’s would more than likely diminish the state of WvW further. There aren’t enough WvW players left for such ideals. Season 3 turnout was shockingly low for some servers.
Could NPC’s scale in both number and capacity with player population, I don’t see why not. Could that help balance, yes I don’t see why not either.
I’m honestly surprised TC and JQ didn’t team up to take on BG again during Weeks 1 and 4.
That would only solidify BG’s position as dominant server even more
It was way more fun fighting TC. TC and JG have a great relationship and enjoy sparring with each other. If you want fun fights then come to either of the two. If you want to be a type of toxic bully that get’s twisted pleasure out of dominating other human beings, then go to BG.
The dev’s could help with fairness by posting graphs of each servers active WvW participation and queues if they have them for the season. They posted queue sizes 2 years ago and have never done so since. At least then players and Guilds alike would be more informed before choosing if and where they’d want to transfer to. Can’t create balance when most of the information floating around is kitten.
Thank you Dev’s for such fast action! Every server is at “Very High” atm.
How about something really simple, first remove the server capacity limits. .
T1 still want more player?
Here is a better Way:
- Count how many People Play at primetime, determine how many Server would be needed to fit them with slight Queue.
- determine the Nummer of player-hours per Server and the mean and how much each Server deviate from that mean (e.g. ET -80%, BG +50%)
- Set the max Population to 110% of mean. (Full if above)
- delete the Server that deviate most from mean, the player get a free transfer.
- server that have 90%-110% pop are as today.
- server that have below 90% have double drops, exp, WEXP, karama
- server that have above 110% have half drops, exp, WEXP, karama
- set all transfer prices to 500.
Thank you putting so much thought into this. Instead of Anet taking weeks to figure out the math, how about something really simple, first remove the server capacity limits! And, I’m saying this should be done like, right now. Not waiting a few weeks or months to figure out the numbers or come up with new solutions or game modes. Let’s players move so we can shake up the matches on our own. This can be done fast! Considering how poor the turnout for S3 was, there should be a sense of urgency about this.
20v20
I don’t WvW to play with small numbers. I play the game for large scale combat. You basically just asked for WvW to be replaced with GvG. No thank you to that!
How about something really simple, first remove the server capacity limits. Next, have a free transfer week and let the players work it out. Also, uncork the waiting period restriction on when you can enter WvW. These restrictions and limitations are stifling players capacity to fix this themselves. There has to be a post season shuffle and there has to be one REAL SOON!!! I don’t think the Dev’s realize how salty players are right now.
I’d imagine if transferring was unrestricted plenty of guilds would have fun bouncing around just to GvG for the week. Which isn’t this what the game is for, to enjoy playing???
btw.. for trying to get enough players to fill 24 worlds, that’s not likely to happen until Gw3. Just face the facts, it’s time to scale back on how far we’re being divided.
So I’m closing in on 300% MF.
I’d imagine an extremely small percentage of players have hit this mark. Small, like the equivalent of Precursor drop rates. So GJ!! but, I doubt they’d do anything with essence of luck until more players hit the mark.
You just got Aneted!
Quoted for truth!!!
I’d equate “Seasons” to either a vampire or a black hole. Either way, it sucks the life out of WvW in the end.
Would never spend that much on it honestly It’s rather irrelevant as I keep a bank tab as a “Go Bag”. I put all my WvW goods in it for fast swapping to alts. The “go bag” includes all prints, assorted drops, the varied essence of luck, foods, tonics, etc. This way I know those drops and salvages will always have a place.
I’m much rather they created new “Go Bags”. Say above the bank slots in the UI, there’s 4 blank spots for Go Bag storage. The in our personal inventory there’s Go Bag spots too. Where you can drag the bag with all it’s contents from your character directly to the Bank. THAT would be a 20 slot storage I’d pay gems for. Moving 20-30 items every character swap sucks. Go Bags would be a big QoL improvement.
I thought it was some kind of reward for all the hours and effort we put into S3. Figures it’s going out to everyone to promote sPvP. Glad WvW is valued by Anet!
tonics………
