I would say to the Dev’s, IF they wanted us to feel joy from having greater movement, then they should have included FREEDOM! Kind of fitting for today right? That aspect skills should have been full time use in Dry Top.

Honestly, it doesn’t even sound like you’ve played all the content yet. I’ve spent hours in Dry Top with only the Sparring Rock achievement left. And, I will say there are “jumps” involved. When you leave the ground and have to precisely position your landing, that is most certainly a jump. No matter if it only took one press to initiate the action. Also, there is a “timely” manner when it requires an aspect crystal on a 10 sec timer.

I get the impression that everyone always assumes Glint’s offspring to be benign. As far as I know there’s no indication that it is.
In fact, if the child has it’s mother’s powers, it’s just as likely that it is manipulating the Master into doing “something” instead. It would explain his odd behaviour.

Before the fight begins, that would be before you take Kasmeer’s portal, look to your right and you’ll see the path to walk up. Just let the NPC’s fight on ground level and get to work on Aerin.
My biggest gripe would be, with all the complaints of a condi meta lately, they make Aerin a grenade Engi??? I’m guessing this has been in the pipeline since last fall. Though still seems like an odd choice.
Aspects, even in the cliffs, were incredible nags and certainly lessened the entertainment value. I recall posting my opinion a year ago that Aspects should be full time skills in the zone. For Dry Top, they certainly should be full time. Acting as a 3rd weapon swap we can rotate to. That would make jumping and exploring far more enjoyable and fun. Why the Dev’s doubled down on the annoyance factor of aspects, I do not understand.
Even story wise, full time aspects could have been explained. The Zephyrites, being in desperate need, pull out their special uber super X crystals for us to use. Ta-Da… easy enough solution.
Though the community, as usual, does come together to find solutions. Only a couple hrs after the patch went live I was porting around. If you are having a hard time, please ask for help in map chat. It’s not unusual to find plenty of help.

Actually, it has nothing to do with Kiel, the story, or Evon. These snowflakes are just trying to promote an ideology. Evon just happens to be the closest NPC representative of what they wish to promote. When they kill him off and replace him with someone from the consortium, they’ll just start worshiping whomever that NPC next.

No, with so many races, professions, and build types, why wouldn’t you have alts? Also, this is what happens when they keep changing aspects the game around since launch. The Dev’s need to get a grip and stop flip flopping on character vs player(account) progression and time gated resources. I believe the majority has been asking for more player progression. This living story is now back tracking toward character progression.
The capacity to replay the Living Story was enough to give players a choice for character or player progression. Forcing character progression wasn’t called for.

I’m going with hidden account modifier’s on the loot rolls. It just feels like something the developers would do to “enhance” gems sales.
I’m just going to point out, any time spent out of combat, is a potential loss in efficiency. Tagging a Boss is one thing, running around tagging multiple Bosses, is another. To be on an up level and tagging multiple Bosses has a very high probability of an efficiency loss.
To put it simply, some are trying to consistently earn gold in under 4 minutes. It’s not about “just” getting gold in 8 minutes. So do you see why some maps may be upset with up-levels tagging Bosses?
For me, I’m fine with up levels as long as they listen and perform well enough for gold. For Boss Blitz itself, the Dev’s have much larger concern’s to deal with in designing future events. Better donating mechanism to prevent Leachers. Also, better ways to remove AFK/Bots.

One of the problems with having way points is that they introduced matter transport as a scientific fact in the GW2 universe. Thus, anyone could have simply materialized bombs aboard the air ship and detonated them.
Suspects of course can get narrowed down by looking into whom has ease of access and motive.

I’d much rather not have more account binding. They’ve gone too far lately with Account Bound items. The problem with anything RNG based it that it has the potential to not reward effort and skill. Which, is not a good reward system at all. At the very least, they should have one additional avenue to obtain items.

btw, if buying a lifetime supply of “shards” comes from gems bought with gold, that doesn’t do much for Anet’s bottom line. I think John’s smart enough to figure that out.

the biggest argument I can think of against them is that pretty much every character would be wearing them rather than their normal armor..
For a few hours at most, then back to running around as usual. Everything should be armor pieced so they can be mixed and matched. Tonics and costumes should be left as the band aids used to get the wardrobe up and running without having to redo so much. Pretty much everything else should be armor pieces.
Still ticked off over my favorite town clothes, the Ornate Rouched Shirt and Khaki Cargo shorts!!! We haven’t forgotten Anet!!! Grrrr…..

We should make July 4th, Swimsuit Independence day! Everyone just unequip Coats, Leggings, and Boots and run the rest with visibility turned off. A little more challenging but certainly doable.

The difficulty in large World Boss Events comes from trying to pick out whom to rez. Maybe a different color and term to differentiate the downed from the dead? Have a “Revive” pop up in yellow for downed players. Then have a “Resurrect” pop up in Red for dead players. I think that type of information would be nice.
For balancing and dead players counting toward scaling, if they stop counting then everyone would not even bother trying to stay alive. Just rush the boss Zerker style, die, and then run back again.
OP, I completely agree with your assessment. If you gave a little more presentation in your initial post, I think it would have been better received. Though you appear to be thinking logically and rationally about how to potentially curb inflation and balance player income across the varied play styles. Which, I don’t believe is Anets long term goal. Inflation on “luxury items” (exotics and up) are good for gems sales. Having “Haves and Have Not’s” are good for gems sales too. Or, at least that what appears to be the going theory.
My biggest gripe is that gold sinks are very generalized and non scaling to the gold fountains in game. The LA donations in the CP is a very good example of a targeted gold sink. I’m hoping for more like those in the future.

Considering I JUST posted about developing more social responsibility in gamer, I’d be for this. IF, and it’s a requirement, damaging another individuals “stuff” branded you a criminal. Where your character would be placed in a jail and no other character on the account could be played. Not until restitution’s were paid in full. Essentially, all you could do is log into that one character and walk around a little instanced jail cell. What might also be fun would be using this jail as a wall of shame. Thus, players could see who was in jail. Maybe a rating kept of it too.
I’d go for just 8, one of each profession. And, have it designed where you NEED to have on of each profession. Like having to split up down 8 paths at once and use a certain skill to each profession to pass a doorway. The whole L2stack and L2dodge replies are getting older than dirt. Anything that doesn’t require them would be a nice change of pace.
I wholeheartedly agree with this. GW2 needs to branch off from a “look what I killed” game and into becoming more diversified. Two examples of success franchises without combat would be “the Sims” and “Farmville”. GW2 should have customizable housing and a garden. The shear volume of virtual goods that could be added to the gem store could justify the development cost.
A big thing for me would be the shift in ideology of the game. From one of suffering, face it all we do is kill constantly, to one of life and growth. We could use more social responsibility mindedness in the game.
For Guild Halls vs Personal Residence, think of it this way, no way everyone is going to agree on how to decorate a guild hall. Also, for server resources, each account is able to create 5 guilds. Thus, Guild Halls could potentially take up 5 times more resources than personal homes could. At this point, I’d be happy with either or maybe the option to do both.

I get bothered a bit when I see copyrighted or celebrity names being used. Changing a single character to special character shouldn’t be done. Wish players would try to be a bit more mindful of immersion too. Luckily most are good with naming.
Pretty much anyone defending the trolling in the Pavilion, are those that are perpetrate such actions. Any place you find players having lighthearted fun and earning gold, they’ll be these spiteful and envious individuals trying to destroy it.
Kill the enemy and tell your teammate to “Move!”. As there’s no time for kitten ing around in WvW!!!!!
I usually don’t even engage solo players at all. It’s simply not a cost effective way to spend your time in WvW. Though I do understand having something you wanted to do interrupted can be frustrating. I was in a fun 3v3 that became a 3v7’ish and it spoiled the fun. Though both sides were whispering and it was easy to find each other again.
It’s an exploit, screen shot or video capture and send in a ticket. It is a banable offense, though it usually takes a while for the ban to happen.
Should I screen shot every time I get attacked on the inside by a Mesmer phantasm too? Or… dragon’s tooth or Guardians staff or Engi flame thrower or etc, etc, etc….. You should get the point that gates are not solid by any means. The only thing they stop is you from physically walking in and physical projectiles. Everything else passes right thru them.
To be honest, if I had a magical portal to walk thru, I would have bricked up the gates long ago. Why wooden gates even exists is beyond me.
Knocking out bridges can be done with the Scorp’s Wanze. Nothing wrong with that at all. What I’m talking about is full scale defense sieging with sup’s, as if it’s a home bl Garri. Last week I came across a keep with door treb’s, cata’s, and 8+ sup AC’s controlled by some with full AC mastery. That’s way too much pressure for up level stats to handle.
Now, I’m not going to say I’ve never been a part of or led a defense/bag farming session in EotM. The big difference is knowing your limits as a player. You do this by thinking about the experience other players are having across of the entire layer. When you do you’ll realize sure you can defend a little for some laugh’s. Afterwards, you then go with the flow again. Otherwise, if you don’t, you are surely seeking to grieve the majority of players on the layer. In that scenario, you earned any level of negativity reflected back to you. Also any level of bad karma in the real world too.
Let’s just get this cleared up. Most of these “suggestions” are from non Warriors. Also, most of these suggestions are not WvW based. A WvW Warrior with a 20 CI cd is pretty absurd in large scale combat.

I think it works perfectly as it is. Think of stealth as another form of CC. Because if you changed stomping to being channeled, what happens to all the other down state abilities with CC’s? Stealth being two of them.

See, here’s the rub for me, you are essentially trolling. When 5 people can derail/take away the fun of the other 150+, you should be discouraged from it. And, trolling in EotM has to be the lowest form of game play in GW2. Especially when it is SO brain dead easy to defend in EotM.
The worst part of trolling in EotM is that the whole layer implodes once defense begins to occur. Most of the map population jumps ship to get away from the trolls. Do to the poorly instituted grouping of worlds, it’s already difficult to find a balanced layer to run around on.
If you want a “fix” for EotM, they should remove siege and only have “special” EotM transform siege like the Scorpions. Expand on those, with more transforms like the Koda, and EotM would be much more fun and prosperous game mode.
I seriously don’t know what the heck the Dev’s were thinking. Suffice it to say, stop trying to force us to run around Zones we don’t want to be in. This new trait system is a train wreck to be certain.
I see it this way, if I want to fast level and run WvW, I should be able to without such time and expense. To balance this, how about we add this system to s/t PVP too? How about you can’t tPvP until you hit 80, have completed zones, done dungeon stories, the works! Then watch as the Dev’s listen and cater to their precious s/t PvP’ers complaints. Because it’s certainly falling on deaf ears when the complaints are coming from the rest of us.
I have 11 80’s. One of which I just finished leveling a couple of hours ago on a new account. The experience is awkward and clunky. The character is a very weak 80 without traits. Also, uplevels are far weaker than they once were. Especially weaker in the 50-60 range. All due to the new trait system. Which, I don’t recall ever seeing a player ask for such a change.
This is still an mmoRPG. In which a Warrior, in a war zone, should be the most predominant character making up the combat zone. It simply makes no sense at all to have it any other way. And, even with that said, a Warrior can still get wrecked by other professions mixed in.
Reading threads like this actually makes me appreciate why the Dev’s were hired to build the game and not the player base.
My only two gripes atm would be the traits, Diamond skin on Ele’s and the DD/DE/PU combo for Mesmer’s. Diamond skin should be condition reduction not outright immunity. For Mesmer, maybe have DE clones have an evaporation rate of 1sec or a leash range of 450 and then they go inert. Something to reduce a PU builds potency. It simply feels out of spec in this game.
