The results will look something like this:
1)2.5K steal
2)5.5k c&d
3)8k backstab
[…] a couple auto attacks for 500 each
4)10k Heartseeker
DEAD x_xThe combination of shadow stepping, stealth, high evasion, extremely high spike damage, and no cooldowns due to the initiative system results in a very, very broken class.
Amen! Sometimes, after getting ganked by this utterly non skilled/ op rotation, I’ll take a screen cap of the combat log. I really don’t want to spend the time to look but, I’m certain this rotation is an extremely high percentage of my deaths in WvW. It’s also VERY macro friendly which makes it very bad for the game. This rotation needs a 50% damage reduction. And, I used to say 20% but, as time and power creep continues, I keep upping the nerf.
To the Dev’s, don’t you EVER say you are working towards build diversity when you don’t touch the most spammed rotation in the game.
(edited by DeWolfe.2174)
Read this and you’ll understand why.
I’ll raise your web blogger with one Captain
In essence, it’s about ideology and values. The use of stealth lacks valor.
Sure…. like every Thief in WvW doesn’t use steal as a gap closer. How about just remove steal if it’s underused then? Thieves don’t need another gap closer.
It’s a massive design flaw that these full uptime 25% speed boosts even exist at all, they’re doing serious damage to build diversity as more and more players pick this up and they need to go.
It’s not a design flaw, nor does it damage build diversity, when anyone with any profession can pick them up.
Which is also the only speed option to classes like mesmer, which has one unreliable non-random source of swiftness on one weapon and no speed signets at all.
I have 5 Mesmers and 2 Guardians….. believe me, I know.
That is just BAD math. BAD… BAD… BAD… math. How is reducing the damage multiplying stat of the runes by over 60% somehow in the realm of 10%??? Meanwhile the additional 6 points in power, out of a pool of nearly 2000, is mathematically insignificant. It’s not even one stack of blood lust or might. Which anyone can test right now and see how little one stack of either does to increase damage output.
Bad MATH!!!!! Must fix the most expensive runes in game. btw… love how perplexity is still an abomination after patch. GG Devs, GG.
What I hope for:
1. Overhaul of how commander tags work. For instance, adding the ability to set tag to “guild” mode or group mode where only people in your guild or joined on you can see the pin. This would allow guild leaders to pin up in wvw without drawing the map to them.
2. More fixes to guilds. I really was hoping for upgrades and influence to be put into a common pool for all servers, but supposedly this is too hard for anet to do. Perhapes we will still get it!
3. Fix the overflow thing and allow people in parties and guilds to stick together. Maybe even allow large guilds to create their own private overflow
4. Fixes to Trading Post. For instance, can I please have the ability to filter armor by type? Pretty please?
So… you are pretty much AGAINST everything about friendly play then
Everything you listed, except the TP filter which I agree with, is exclusionary!!!!
Guilds are a social thing and commander tags help other people, definitely not exclusive.
The moment you segment a population into groups, that being exclusive.
What I hope for:

To compensate for this, we got +6 to all other stats.
Has a dev stated these runes would be buffed the same as Celestial? Considering these aren’t full “all stat” items like Divinity runes are. Anyway, adding 6% to 10 equals 10.6. Which would make the runes still +10 to all stats
(edited by DeWolfe.2174)
Considering these runes are the most expensive in game, I’m hoping they give them some love in the stats. I just purchased another 7 of them 2 weeks ago. Making it my fourth character using them. Full height Norns, I just can’t play without speed.
This is how they would be today:
—————————————————————-
(1): +10 to All Stats; +30 Ferocity
(2): +15% Boon Duration
(3): +10 to All Stats; +30 Ferocity
(4): +10% Condition Duration
(5): +10 to All Stats; +30 Ferocity
(6): +25% Movement Speed
If Ferocity is a stat, then the +10 and the additional +30 would be a total of 120 Ferocity. Taking 10% off would then be 108. Which would be:
(1): +10 to All Stats; +26 Ferocity
(2): +15% Boon Duration
(3): +10 to All Stats; +26 Ferocity
(4): +10% Condition Duration
(5): +10 to All Stats; +26 Ferocity
(6): +25% Movement Speed
We should promote this!!!
I’m kittened about the removal of town clothes since they were my favorite appearance items in game. For the wardrobe itself, I’m guessing the Dev’s left a loophole to circumvent the fees, if one wanted to spend the time to do so. I bark at them often on here (squeaky wheel) but, they are usually pretty good about creating multiple ways of doing things.
Because they are supposed to be making combat tonic and skins. Of what we don’t know yet.
ok, I know I’m just waking up and all but, what is “hom”?
Can we get a pleasant ring tone to go along with the queue ready pop up? As I type this, my character is standing idle waiting for over half an hour for a queue. It’d be great if there was a toggled option for an audible tone to go along with the popup. This way we can all multitask a bit while waiting Especially when the popup is very short in duration.
snip
Thief burst needs way more than a 10% nerf in WvW anyway. Obviously, since it’s percentage based, the higher you scale, the more numerical loss. Though, full Zerker will still scale greater than any balanced build.
Interestingly, many of my guildies, rp buddies, and myself were on the edge of our seats from launch waiting for even MORE town clothes to be added. I have long since lost count of how many frustrated-tinged-with-excitement conversations we’ve had about wanting anet to bring us more clothes.
Anet seems so completely obsessed with the PvP and combat, they don’t even realize they have paying customers whom like OTHER things in game too. To make a simple analogy, I’d like more functionality and creativity in characters and housing like “the Sims” has. Also, I’d like more cultivating like “Farmville” had. In a game where end game content is entirely appearance based, they should give us a great variety in appearance.
I’m waiting for the next slap in the face. As I’m betting these tonics will be rendered completely useless by a 30 minute cool down timer. Just like the Infinite Watchknight Tonic which is useless.
This is basically Anet tightening it’s iron grip on appearance. Stifling creativity does not make for a good RPG. Which this game really isn’t going to be anymore.
Yes, obviously this is to make the game more grindy. That’s the logical conclusion.
/sigh
Did you really not see the champion-loot-nerf coming? :o
I thought that was obvious back when they buffed it, it just took time to figure out what to give us in turn to not make us rage too much.Tone. Internet.
Really it’s a good thing that they’re nerfing champion loot, the loot farmers ruin the game. Failing LS events because they wanted to farm, crashing activities because you get rewards faster for losing, the entire champ train in queensdale that gets mad at people for doing events in the starting zone.
I hate those people.
The feelings will more than likely be reciprocated.
Signed,
Community minded players.
This patch is really about the china release. NA population has dwindled, we aren’t that important.
Who loves spending tons of money on micro transistion wardrobes? China…
Who will be effected the most by champ train nerfs, repair costs, account bound things, etc… new players who are just starting out… i.e. China…
account bound dyes… announced a month ago for china…
In reality this is just about the chinese release, we are just an afterthought.
To be honest, right now I feel like I was a beta tester for their main market.
Additionally, every time we added something to town-clothes, it didn’t really help someone building their light, medium, or heavy look.
See….. Right there!!!! You aren’t giving us MORE choice. You’re squeezing us into “A” look, not one of our choosing. This obsession with light, medium, or heavy is a problem. Who ever said I want my Warrior to LOOK heavy??? And, no matter what, we’re not using appearance for combat. We’re using the targeting icon and opponent skills.
GG…
I’m hoping they DO remove all armor restrictions.
Several of my fellow Quarrians already posted everything I’ve experienced. Lag has been fairly good until Feb. 21st. I noticed it quite harshly out of the blue. I made a thread about it immediately to info and get the date down. So if you are looking for a timeline, for me it was then.
Champ farming was a TERRIBLE way to try and make gold. It was mainly for XP, crafting materials, karma, and luck, none of which are impacted by this change.
If you were farming champs for the gold drops… I mean… I don’t even know what to say…. maybe “don’t”?
It’s true that champ farming is by a wide margin not the best way to make gold (not counting TP either)
And yet, for those of us whom have come to despise instanced play, you aren’t giving us much to earn. Meanwhile, are you decreasing champion loot from WvW too??? Lastly, I’d like to see statistics on this because the greatest gold creation mechanism in game are pure gold Dungeon Rewards. Why aren’t they getting nerfed?
Oh, and some champs count as events for us family guilds that need influence too.
Well, why don’t make town clothes as a 4th weigh
Some of us have been asking for the removal of weight classes entirely. Having them is what fragmented the meshes and created a good deal of the clipping issues to begin with. They should unify the skins to make them more future proof. Also, creating new ones in the future would be much easier and cost effective.
Why do you hate thieves ? ?
Are you KIDDING??? They are the Golden Child profession! Daddy Dev (you should know which) has been keeping you king of the 1v since launch. Aww… so your no real skill required spammable BS (literally and figuratively) and HS are getting reduced? Thieves should be getting a 30% reduction in BS and HS, not a measly 10%! Wow, so 6k becomes a 5k.
Thieves have been such bull in WvW since launch. How much consumer backlash is required before Anet fixes it has been my question.
You realize 1v1 has no place in wvw…no place in any format. so we are strong in something that has no relevance
Please tell this to every player ganked while running to a camp. Or, coming out of spawn in the south of the BL’s, especially Lake.
Another thought, the shared WXP also begs the question of whether ranks will still be displayed since they will become rather useless. I build a new toon and they have 400 rank points to distribute…..guess that bronze general won’t be expecting that when he’s rolled by an assaulter
Don’t worry about it as being rolled has little to do with ranks anyway.
YAY!!!!… alt friendliness is arriving in Tyria. I so wish I didn’t buy another full set of Asc trinkets last week though, ugg! lol
(edited by DeWolfe.2174)
As long as last time and most time played is a toggle. Because last works far better for me.
This is just a suggestion to make Auto targeting hot keyable. Being able to toggle on/off the “auto targeting” feature would be a great quality of life addition.
Now all this time I never bothered anyone about such things. Clipping and oddities are just something I’ve learned to live with. That’s why I really don’t understand why all of a sudden clipping is so important that town clothes have to be removed unless they are perfect fits??? I’d love it if everything did fit perfectly but, I’d rather have the option to use it first.
Back before they locked out the preview system from testing other armor weights, I used to try everything out on my my Warrior. Most items seemed to work fine together. Then I rolled some humans and realized somethings are quirky. And, before I post this, please Curtis don’t ever mess this up for my Norn Warrior!!!
The Invaders looks and fit amazing on my full height Norn vs mid height humans. Now, if I can deal with this, I think a little clipping isn’t that bad.
Hear, hear. Not just weeks, I’m willing to wait as long as it takes
No… no… these are items I paid for several times across my accounts. There has to be accountability and not a lingering, “meh… whatever” response. I’m still surprised they made such changes to begin with without a CDI thread. This is way larger than FotM and that got a thread. Now, that being said, I’m willing to wait as long as there’s some definition to it.
So poultry meat, which used to be like 1-2.5s has skyrocketed to 6s+
The herbed soup stock which waas like kitten is now 6s+
Lemongrass itself has remained the same
How come the bowls of lemongrass soup have stayed around 30s when the ingredients other than the grass itself, have gone up significantly?
It’s speculators trying to profit off of WvW players. Though, being a smart WvW player, I’m ALWAYS thoughtful on farming the mats to keep up my stock of WvW foods.
Yes, Celestial is becoming less useful now. The “fix” required was to tame down burst builds in WvW. And yet, the balanced builds are the ones getting most hit. I shake my head at it all.
Wiki the zones and download the full rez map image. Also, on the wiki people have added what are the usually oversights for each zone.
Everyone, I’m just as upset as most in this thread, but can we please keep it civil? As devs have said in the past, they care about the game and they do not make changes to “slap the community in the face.” Can we please not threaten them with any sort of violence and refrain from assuming they are out to spite or ignore the community? Even if you feel this way, it is not productive nor will it help the situation.
Yes, thank you. Please keep it civil to not only our staff, but to each other, while you are giving us your feedback. We are compiling it all together and we should have more answers on a variety of topics regarding Wardrobe when we do.
Thanks for your patience and understanding.
If we’re being combative, consider it the training and life lessons from the game. Considering not only are the majority of but, the greatest of rewards, comes from non stop killing and destroying. Town Clothing was one of the few things that us non homicidal types can do for fun in GW2. Not only that, town clothing was some of the most beautiful, if not the most beautiful, appearance items in game. Some us want NICE and not skulls, flames, spikes, horns, etc… It’s easy to feel slighted or ignored when some of us have been very vocal about this since launch. The greatest imbalance isn’t in PvP or professions, it’s in appearance and choice. Yet, the face and voice of the developers have been mostly the PvP team.
I can’t stress enough, it’s worth taking the town clothes and making them into proper combat skins. Most of the items we are upset about are already in individual pieces. And, I can’t stress this enough, we use the boots and shoes from the sets because the gem store has never focused on selling individual foot attire.
The assorted glasses, bunny ears, hats, the ruched shirts, the hoodies, dragon t-shirt (I wish was re-released), the Khaki Cargo shorts, etc. should be made combat ready skins.
The Fancy Wintersday’s outfit is already in individual pieces.
The Cook’s outfit is already in individual pieces.
The Pirate Costume is in pieces except for the top and pants. Easy to separate.
The Bloody Prince is in pieces except for the top and pants. Easy to separate.
Now the ones I’d say combat tonics would be acceptable for are the Mad King and the Executioner. Though you still have separate pieces in those two sets that could be made into useful combat skins. Don’t be wasteful and throw them away. The Mad King gloves and The Executioner hood, gloves, and boots, are already separate pieces and would make good combat skins.
Let’s be practical and use as much as we can. Appearance items are in very short supply as it is.

I was hoping this blog was going to have Commander system upgrades. #sad
At least dyeable pins please…. please…. please….
Really? I was sure that so many are for dueling accoding to past forums posts.
That would be called tunnel vision You saw what you wanted.
As a lot of us do not want to be trolled. It’s as simple as that, no trolling. This game has enough ways to grieve players as it is. If you have ant’s in your pants that bad, then go into sPvP. If this game needs anything, it’s less trolling and more community.
I’m just hoping they take the town clothes and make them proper skins. I’d just apply them on some blue gear and keep them in inventory. Annoyingly swapping each individual piece of armor to change. Still costing us more for something we already paid for but, at least we get the appearance.
I’m happy and sad at the same time. The town clothes issue is really a let down. It’s overshadowing how cool everything else announced is. Because my mix n matched towns clothes were the BEST looks I had in game. Though, what they announced is really awesome. Now only if they fixed town clothes and finally removed armor weight restrictions….. Wow, that would be great!
I think a compromise here could be that the Town clothes could still be the tonics (still a terrible idea), but let us have the option to wear whatever hat we feel like.
Please, no! I never wore an entire set and have no intention to. I paid for the pieces, not the whole.
Sorry about the mix-and-match. Converting things to be armor and combat compatible did come with some trade-offs.
Excuse me one second but, there are no technology hurdles to this. It’s simply a matter of time and effort. Which should still be able to be completed. Heck, the player base could accomplish it ourselves it we had access under the hood.
Almost every costume in game has at least one ugly piece!
Are you kidding???? More like every set MIGHT HAVE ONE good looking piece! That’s why we have to mix and match….
Another example of the Ornate Ruched Shirt, Khaki Cargo Shorts, and this time with the Witches Boots.
My favorite town clothes mix n match. The Ornate Ruched Shirt, Khaki Cargo Shorts, and the Cooks boots. Post your favorite examples too!
Curtis, thank you additional input. I’m guessing the folks at Anet weren’t anticipating how passionate the players are about our town clothes. Well, now I think you are realizing we are very serious about wanting to keep them. Next time, before removing something from game, maybe ask us for some feedback first
And please, I’m hoping the Ornate Ruched shirt and Khaki cargo shorts will be skins. Also, you never gave use shoes/boots to wear! I’ve been using the ones from the Cooks outfit, Witches Costumes, and Fancy Winter outfit. We need those shoes and boots!!!!
(edited by DeWolfe.2174)
I’m reading more about this and I’m at the point of just say NO to town clothes tonics! That’s a bunch a bull kitten. I paid cash for these items and want them as individual item skins.
