I honestly think I auto, rapid fire and barrage 90% of the times while fighting
Stealth has it’s uses and knockback as well. But the utility of the skill is overlooked. This thread is about the wrong use of knockback, not rangers. If this is so this thread should be applied to all push and pull mechanics. Understand this skill is a 1200 range knockback, it’s unique. And do not punish experienced rangers for the mistakes of newbs and trolls… Please
Rangers have had a bad rep since day -2 I guess… But it’s always the ranger…
Because they’re the most consistent offenders, and the most willful offenders at that.
I was dealing with a mesmer using GS5 inappropriately yesterday, I asked them not to knock mobs out of my aoes so it’d die faster and they stopped, they realized I can’t just conjure another meteor shower instantly when the mob was knocked out of meteor shower and we worked fine together after that.
I tell that to a ranger and their response is “LOL u must have got owned by a ranger in pvp u kitten lol”
There’s no reasoning with them.
Are you sure it’s malice and not just ignorance?
Seems like there is a certain class of ranger that needs to be told things several times for it to sink in. Yeah, if you ask people not to, there will always be some wise guy who does it more, just to be a kitten, but many people will listen. You’d be surprised how many people in a pug Zerg are actually really new to the game and don’t know this stuff.
(I have two rangers BTW, and I know not every ranger is a skill clicking bear bow, but it does seem common).
It isn’t just ignorance, it’s outright incompetence really. Because you can inform them that the knockback is disruptive (educating them and removing ignorance out of the equation) and they’ll still do it anyway just because they’re facerolling mouthbreathers.
Right now all open world content is under the same heading, just Living World > Open World.
That means you have Tequatl, Triple Wurm, Silverwastes, Dry Top, Orr, Living Story groups, Living Story Achievement groups and mouthbreathers who don’t know how to advertise their dungeon group in the right section (they just post “P1 P3 quick run” in open world and somehow expect everyone to know which dungeon they’re running) in the same LFG panel. It refreshes too quickly and you end up clicking groups for the wrong content. Do this a few times and you’re barred from joining more groups.
Open World should have subsections for Frostgorge Sound (champ trains, coil, and claw), Orr (temples, gates of Arah), Southsun (karka queen, karka train), Dry Top, Silverwastes, and a World Bosses section (mostly for Teq and Wurms but could be useful for any world boss)
Then you could have a section for Story/Achievements, and then the open world section by itself would just be for other miscellaneous champ trains.
This would help with the seizure inducing refresh, at least in most sections, and help make it so that if you misclicked/didn’t click fast enough before a refresh you’d at least probably get put into a group that was relevant to what you wanted to do rather than random groups.

“Excellent rewards” wait what? a green, a blue, 2-4 emp fragments, and some useless trash seal are considered “excellent rewards”?
The other night I had an amazing full map, all bulls being escorted by close to 5 people, good crowds at every fort, and for three cycles we completed the breach meta. I’d hate to see that vanish.
If there were more compelling reasons to do foothold events it wouldn’t vanish it’d actually mean more maps like that.
Right now people are like freaking locusts, hopping from breach to breach and people might complete a dozen breaches without having escorted a single dolyak or defended a single fort.
Breach leeching happens because of the body part requirements, and anet is only making it WORSE by increasing the body part grind.
Anet, can’t you see you’ve made a horrible mistake?
Is that what you want from GW2? A bunch of Breach Leeches hopping around from map to map like locusts?
The worst part of this?
You go to click on the party you want to join and end up joining a different party instead because it refreshed mid click, you leave party and try again, keep trying that a few times and now you’re locked out of joining new parties.
Now you’re stuck on a SW map that doesn’t even have enough people to hold one fort and hasn’t made any progress in 20 minutes.
You just log out and consider uninstalling the game at that point.
“Why?” they’re doing it, I’m sure it’s because they’re trying to cut down on the RNG for acquiring the organs needed to complete the luminescence collections. But I’m sure you may’ve known that or could’ve suspected.
I’m not a fan of the organs being RNG’d either and I don’t have as much free time to grind out everything compared to other people, but it is ruining the ‘purpose’ of releasing a new map. I still blame RNG for it all though.
In the 2+ weeks time it takes to get all the organs and complete both sets, the map inevitably becomes barren. But with the LFG system, that only made it all happen sooner.
If there was a reason to do the foothold events like being able to get extracted parts outside of breaches people wouldn’t be jumping breach to breach.
Also recently it’s just gotten worse, now, if you CAN get into a SW taxi group from LFG in the 0.1 seconds that the group is open, the map is probably full, and you can try and try and try, but I have better luck getting into TTS wurm maps than I do SW maps.
So I keep getting stuck in empty maps that make 0 progress. It’s frustrating and kills any enjoyment of the game. Taxiing from breach to breach is killing the zone, killing the LFG tool, and is definitely not how the developers intended for the zone to be.
Something has to change drastically.

Dervish was an awesome class; however, to use the argument that they gave up on the gods for something else won’t really work. You will then have players demanding monks and ritualists to be brought back under the same reason.
Ideally, I believe the next class will be a dark heavy class.
Medium we have:
Light = Ranger
Neutral = Engineer
Dark = ThiefLight we have:
Light = Ele
Neutral = Mesmer
Dark = NecromancerHeavy we have:
Light – Guardian
Nuetral = Warrior
Dark = ?Maybe a blood paladin? Dark Knight? Death Knight? Defiler? Dread Knight?
It’d be nice to have a 3rd heavy class yeah, but I don’t know if Arenanet ever went around the designs of the classes based on any light/neutral/dark thing.. I mean, most the professions are just from GW1 with a few adaptations. Warrior, Ele, Mesmer, Necro, Ranger are just straight GW1 classes, Thief is just renamed Assassin because of the stealing mechanic, Guardian is taking elements of paragon, monk, ritualist, and they stole wards from Eles (not sure how Guardian has any dervish mechanics, I can’t think of any because enchants were removed from the game pretty much)
Dervish is the one GW1 prof that has absolutely NO representation whatsoever in GW2, but then again, Dervish got powers directly from the Human gods and they are AWOL.
Yep… It’d be nice.. a guaranteed rare with a chance at an exotic.. just like World Bosses… with greater weight given to more difficult jumping puzzles.. and once again, as someone said, with checks along the way so you can’t just park your characters at the end.
They sort of did this with the new jumping puzzle, having checks along the way… now if they could just get the rewards right and then implement the same thing with the rest of the jumping puzzles…. and then make more… a man can dream.
Yeah I thought of this as I was doing the new jumping puzzle and realizing that they put all this effort into this puzzle for something that people will only do once because the reward isn’t really worth it after that first time.
People aren’t hanging out on one map and doing defense events anymore, they’re taxiing from breach to breach, causing the LFG system to refresh erratically as people dogpile the available taxis and fill maps. People who can’t get into a map that is progressing are stuck on maps that are empty and not progressing.
Why?
Because the foothold events are very stale at this point. You get really bored of doing the same defense event 10x in a row from breach to breach.
we need something to make foothold more fun, something that makes you not want to ditch maps hopping from breach to breach.
Cause right now the anet “solution” for people finishing their stuff from breach hopping too fast is to stretch out the grind by dividing body parts into halves and probably even more pieces next time around, requiring more breaches, which will just encourage more taxi’ing and doesn’t solve the underlying problem of foothold events being boring and old hat.
Only thing I can think of off the top of my head is to make the legendary spawns also be able to be extracted.
I could park 8 or 9 of my characters at different chests and garner that many RAREs a day for absolutely NO effort.
If there was some method for the game to check that you actually DID the JP (there actually IS as Daily JP checks this) to give the RARE, then I have no problem with it.
Yes, it would need to check at the start of the puzzle and end of the puzzle
Similar to world bosses. I mean they’re difficult content for most people, on a daily timer so you can’t just farm them over and over, and here you are giving out greens and blues for them. I’d say the difficulty is as much as boss meta events probably more considering you can’t just hammer 1 while afk during a JP.
Dervish won’t work for any race but humans.
If they retcon the lore that much to make it work I’m done.
The zone is still going fine, it’s just that people are taxiing in from breach to breach rather than hanging out on 1 map and completing foothold events.
OP probably was in a map where people were abandoning like a sinking ship since it wasn’t making progress, taxiing over to other maps that were almost done instead.
This. People have learned to use the LFG to find areas near Breach instead of waiting one out. It makes the grind for the organs and crest more palatable.
With the LFG tool almost giving me a seizure right now due to the refresh animation frequency I wouldn’t call it palatable.
Give it a few days for people to clear the story, story achievements, zone exploration, and such, and it’ll pick back up again. People tend to knock those things out first before they return to the “regularly scheduled grind” as it were.
The zone is still going fine, it’s just that people are taxiing in from breach to breach rather than hanging out on 1 map and completing foothold events.
OP probably was in a map where people were abandoning like a sinking ship since it wasn’t making progress, taxiing over to other maps that were almost done instead.
I’m trying to grind out my two new pieces of luminescent gear, but since Seeds of Truth launched, Silverwastes has seemed to have died off :-( Any reason for this? How am I supposed to get all those mordrem pieces when no one does the meta anymore…
Because people are using the LFG system to taxi to maps that are close to breach. nobody likes doing the repetetive escort and defense events over and over for an hour anymore, they’re sick of it.
Anet looks at a problem of “well this zone is dead, how do we keep people here longer?”
and their solution thus far has been “make farming for the luminescent collections take longer, because people get their stuff and leave”
They never think to address the underlying cause that maybe somehow in their design of the zone, they made some things that aren’t fun or are tedious.
There needs to be more event types/variety to advance breach progress so the events aren’t repetetive. They need to fix teragriff hitboxes so that you can expect where they’ll hit more reliably, being 600 units away off to the side and still being bowled over is just not okay, maybe a visual telegraph of the area they will hit with their charge or something, and we need some NPE like idiotproof tutorial for the bosses since many players don’t read forums or even map chat or says or whispers when you tell them not to aoe at copper because it heals them and they continue it anyway. That sucks the fun out of the zone playing with really bad players who throw a monkey wrench in the entire map’s effort in completing the event successfully.
The skritt holes help a lot with the other major problem with the zone though.
I like Job-o-Tron and I still think this was a good change. Sometimes you want to shut him off for say, wvw and don’t want to give away your location because you jumped, and don’t want to spend transmute charges just for that.
This achievement is tough even in a group, and don’t even THINK about bothering to try in challenge mode lol. It was fun though.
If you really want an easy/lazy 10g, and you’re already running SW, just sell all your rares on the TP instead of salvaging them.
Need the ectos (which until I get a stack of crystalline dust I’m salvaging, good way of getting luck as well)
I don’t see any other acquisition method for Verata’s Seared Ring besides the bandit crest vendor. I am going to wait till next episode but I doubt we will see it added as a mastery reward..
Yuck, I’m sitting at about 20 gold and trying to buy icy runestones if the dungeons weren’t the worst dungeons in the entire MMO genre I might actually do them but..
Actually the dungeons are… ok-ish I guess. Although at this point players have more or less settled into only doing a handful of dungeons paths, and tend to have a rather horrible attitude…
As for how to get gold. What about tequatl? That’s 2 gold the first time and then 1 gold every time after that until the next day (although there’s only about 4 a day). Might also give triple trouble a go, but I’m not sure the player base has the tactics down yet.
No, they’re absolutely terrible. Running 5 DPS with almost no interaction aside from stacking on top of each other and doing full dps and blast finishers to stack might .. it doesn’t feel like you’re in a group it feels like you’re soloing next to 4 other people soloing.
Removal of Trinity was supposed to be a good thing but they screwed up horribly and made dungeons nothing but reflexes and stacked DPS, no thought involved at all.
GW1 you had much more complex team builds that had teammates relying on each other, and it wasn’t even just trinity. My favorite speed runs in GW1 had no tank, but the group still needed and supported each other for more than just stacking might to put up bigger numbers.
That group wasn’t going to survive DOA without that Imbagon protecting the and that prot monk and heal monk, that Imbagon was useless without that SoS ritualist giving them splinter weapon (for more adrenaline to spam Save Yourselves) and hex removal, and the group needed those spirits to clump the melee mobs in one place for them to aoe.
GW2 has nothing like that at all.
Honestly… if you can’t afford 10g then you shouldn’t be worried about end game skins or ascended level gear. Focus on building up your character and making some investments. Once you have 200-300 gold then start looking into higher tier skins and ascended gear.
The LS is good for story, but that is about it, otherwise it is mostly a gold sink. The other aspects of the game is where you make money.
I have 1 legendary, multiple ascended weapons, full ascended jewelry and 4 level 80 characters with all skills and all traits, I just dislike the dungeons in this game (I am a dungeon master, I’ve done all of them many times) and it’s really the only reliable way to make money most other things are RNG chance. As for selling mats, well let’s see, I said I’m making a legendary so selling Tier 6 mats is out of the question since I need them.
I make money just as I do I spend it, atm, on icy runestones.
Soo, after many hours how to get even to the Drydock Scratch, and of course get to the upper level to get the useless chest of crap, the chest gave me ‘’[Dowsing Rod]’‘, which the Skritt on the ’’[SS Topsy-Turvy]’’ ship were talking about.
After I’ve spoke with this Skritt, she must has taken the Rod, without giving me any reward or saying anything else afterwards, since the Rod is no longer in my inventory after speaking to the Skritt…
Also, the Drydock Scratch’s chest reward was completely useless junk!!! The JP was not even worth the effort once you get this junk of ’’reward’’.. pfff. So, what the hell was the Dowsing Rod for?
Not to mention needing to spend a gold to be able to use the checkpoint system and getting much less than a gold worth of loot at the end. Chalk this JP up as one I’ll never run again. Do it once for achievement and then forget it exists.
Is blowing 10g the only way to get the ring?
I’m pretty poor right now and working on a legendary so not looking forward to spending what little money I have on this thing that I’ll never use and is only for a collection.
It doesn’t do dungeons well that’s for sure.
That seems to be more from lack of trying.
nah, it’s a mechanical problem. There’s 0 real teamwork in the game because all bosses are just bloated sacks of hp that one shot or near one shot on every hit, making “tanks” and “healers/support” pretty much useless, and every boss has the defiant mechanic which rules “control” near useless as well. You beat every boss with the same mechanics. Dodge, and DPS. That’s all you do. Dodge every single one of their attacks or you probably get downed, and dps them fast. The only “support” is stacking might and you do that just as well in full zerker gear as you do in any other stat combination. Passive defenses are basically useless because the game revolves around active defenses (building full bunker only increases your survivability by about 150%, but decreases your potential damage by a lot more
Defiant and their high damage pretty much removed the rest of thought out of dungeons.
No thought, only reflex.
That was smart of you, Pixel.
I should have done the same, except that I was really tired of Silverwastes and decided to go back to my normal mapping.
This.
You get mentally exhausted of dealing with bad players on most maps after awhile and just want to not go there after you get what’s necessary for the last thing you did there.
This is a joke in bad taste anet, really bad taste. We have to RNG this TWICE to get the part.
all the while getting tendons and fangs we don’t need.
definitely speak for yourself
Jumping Puzzles is one thing gw2 does well, that and zerg content. It doesn’t do dungeons well that’s for sure.
finally a bank tab sale
Daily is easy but if your PvE and *****HATE JUMPING PUZZLES****** then monthly is to hard to get.
m7, I see 6 options still of which you need to get 4.
It’s not hard at all.
and actually, daily is harder than monthly. Monthly you get 10 options, 3 of them are PVP/WvW and 1 is Jumping Puzzles of which you need to get 4, That’s 6 possibilities.
Do your dailies, join some champ trains or go to silverwastes, salvage the stuff you get, that takes care of 4 right there. Don’t even need to do fractals or dungeons then, and you’ll probably gain enough skill points and get enough scrolls to complete skill point amasser.
Dailies… 12 options, you need to complete 5. 4 of them are always PVP or WvW, and one might be daily story when you’ve completed all of the story, 1 might be jumping puzzle as it was today, 1 might be a dungeon or fractal, which you might say you can’t do because you’re too casual and grouping with other players is against your religion or whatever, and 1 might be daily activity which is too close to PVP because you have to compete with people.
That leaves you with 4 you can complete meaning you can’t complete dailies!

For the most part bosses in this game have been a let down. Their behavior has boiled down to blindly chasing you or being a stationary target, but the behavior of the Mordrem Teragriff was very different. It had scripted behaviors, ran around the map, and wasn’t just something you attacked like a pinata.
Bosses like this are a huge improvement, and if you keep working on it, we could see some amazing boss fights and dungeons, far above that which is currently in game!
They need to fix his hitbox though and his bursting roots skill? I don’t know about that, he fires more projectiles than you have dodges and invulns and they will track you to the ends of the earth and you cannot interrupt him because anet thinks interrupts on bosses break their “core” gameplay mechanics of just dodging everything.
If he decides that you’re his target for bursting roots instead of the adept master? You’re going to get downed that’s just all there is to it.
I don’t see how sexuality should even be brought up in a game. does it matter (in context of the game I mean)?
I’ve got too many character slots as is, I have 1 for each class, an extra warrior that is just a crafter that I have’t deleted yet until my ranger catches up to his craft, and a blank slot that was a key farming slot but key farming is kinda buried now so I don’t know what to do with the slot. I don’t really want 2 of the same class actively.
What I could really use and would spend money on.. is extra bank tabs going on sale.
I think every rangers would be happy with an immobilize insted of kb
Ranger has already a lot of immob it doesn’t need more of it.
PBS is perfectly fine as it is, it needs the knock back to keep the distance from the target in order to deal more damage. People are using it badly ? who cares… adapt.
1 guy ruins play experience for dozens of people around him, and THEY’RE supposed to adapt because he can’t be expected to wipe his own butt?
I have an idea. Make the room similar to copper husk’s with an L shaped hallway so that you are safe when you drop in, but you will not be able to attack the boss. Make the “safe zone” far enough away so that if someone is trying to cheese the fight by standing on top of the drop into the room they are more than 1500 units away from the boss, making it out of their attack range when the boss is immobile. So yes, the room would be bigger in that way.
The thing is, while it’d be nice if every skill adjusted itself based on attunement, I think Anet’s design is for GLYPHS to adjust based on attunement, to make Glyphs special as a skill type, it’s not intended for every skill to adjust based on attunement which is why we have 4 non elite conjure weapons 1 for each attunement (the fire one is unused and people use the elite fire one instead), 1 cantrip for each attunement, and 1 signet for each attunement (+a healing signet)
the troll dies first of all champs.
Precisely why it can be problematic. It’s one of the most distant outposts and it’s one of the bosses that dies first (the other being Copper Husk)
So if you jump in and land in his aoes going off all at once and die, by the time you run back, the Troll and Husk are probably dead, you’re left going to Platinum, where your skills as an Ele are more detrimental than helpful (Eles have relatively few single target skills, mostly just scepter autoattacks or 2 attunements of staff autoattack, 1 utility, and 1 scepter skill and like 2 skills on conjured weapons, just about everything else has an aoe radius or melee cleave area), or Gold/Silver which, it depends on your map but a lot of times maps leave those ones for last.
All over a death that’s hard to avoid and based entirely on bad luck.
Have people forgotten the beta event where The Shatterer basically flew over one of the starting charr areas and turned half of the players into enemies =)
How amazing was that event? They really need to implement something as epic as those encounters more often.Enjoy =)
In limited occasions possibly, but not as an ongoing thing.
How many world bosses do you think will get done if people will flag in the middle and start ganking low health players?
It’d ruin the open world event system.
His room needs a safe landing spot. in the current room, he can aoe bomb the spot you land in, meaning instant downed for people jumping into the room by the time they load, and considering that people don’t tend to res, that means running back from at best the labyrinth waypoint, if it’s not contested, which it often is. Running back from the base waypoint? The troll might be dead by the time you get back and you won’t get credit.
All the other bosses have a somewhat safe landing zone. Troll does not.
Now what about a macro to repeat left click as long as a button is held down? Does that still count as 1 button 1 action, it’s just repeating that action as long as the button is held down?
That is not allowed since pressing 1 button causes several actions, in this case several mouse clicks until you let go of that button. Not saying that they will come and ban you for doing something like this but use it at your own discretion.
i use options to add skill 6 7 and 8 in my mouse buttons
6 and 7 are on the left side of my mouse and 8 is my mouse scroll wheel to click it
and i think am not breaking any rules ??
but am a bit faster in clicking the skillfor the rest i play 100 % legit
That is completely allowed since you only perform that one skill by pressing those mouse buttons.
Like I said initially, I’m going to let a redpost or a link to a redpost decide on that matter. Peanut gallery speculation isn’t of much value.
Then why not just send a message to support directly and ask them? Forums are meant for open discussion and that’s what you got here.
Because a redpost here is something that can be used for future reference, I can link someone to it, like someone did previously to show that Anet is okay with using macros to play musical instruments in towns.
If they tell someone in a PM that they can’t link to the public we don’t have that clarification.to use.

Is it illegal? A lot of people do this to open stacks of champion bags or to chow down stacks of luck essences without breaking their mouse clicker buttons or developing carpal tunnel syndrome. Some people claim it’s something you can be banned over. Which is it?
I’m not interested in peanut gallery speculation so red response would be nice to hear the official word, unless this has been answered in the past with a red response, link to that.
Hey guys, i had played Arche age a little, and i realy enjoyed the pvp system, but i cant play anymore because a lot of things.
So i think that NCSOFT really can make an update that have PVE at lvl 90-100. and those maps could have pvp system with new weapons, armors, and new things!
so, what do u think?
I think it’d defeat the feeling of jolly cooperation that the game currently has in PVE zones.
WvW is supposed to simulate world PVP but I find that the map is too compressed and doesn’t have enough PVE on it to facilitate the feeling of world PVP. TESO’s Cyrodiil map does do this pretty well, as there are mini dungeons, quests, towns, daedric anchors, etc, all of them are completely separate from the map control PVP game, so people will go there and pick up quests, and PVE in the “PVP” zone, but encounter other people of the other factions and PVP happens.
Completely unrestricted PVP kills jolly cooperation because everyone, even people who are supposed to be your same faction allies, is likely a kitten who will turn on you and kill you.
Doesn’t fit with the game.
I’d love to have a bigger wvw map with more PVE on it to make for a better world PVP experience, because in that situation all parties are consenting, faction (in this case, server) vs faction only, no same faction/world. But putting all players unwilling or not into forced PVP “PVE” zones.. no. There’s plenty of other games for that,
Same thing happened to me. I just updated avast and added gw2 to my whitelist, and I’ll tell you what I did, I went into the quarantine vault, found the copy of Gw2.exe that avast had initially deleted, scanned it, found no malware, and restored it. So as long as you didn’t up and delete the folder and just had avast move it to quarantine/virus chest, you could just do that.
I honestly just want an elite signit and a good ol’ buff to the glyph of elemental prefered buff method is three fold the elementals stick around as long as they are alive just like necro minions its only fair its not that powerful like really not that powerful at all. and two give the poor thing some vit and toughness in WvW a havoc squad of 5 will kill it on accident no focusing required. finally make their skills ground targetable with the exception of the stun which is clearly meant to be targeted at your current target
Why an elite signet?
I mean personally, what I want done with Ele elites is, I think Glyph of Elementals is okay for the time being, it’s truly an elite skill for solo pve or in small scale PVP, alright. It’s not so elite in group PVE or WvW, and that’s fine. That’s what we have now and I just think there should be other elite options for group PVE and WvW. Fiery Greatsword needs to be stepped down to a normal utility, and just can Lava Axe maybe transferring one of its skills to the GS (the 2 skill is the most likely candidate). Tornado needs to not be a transformation, even if that removes it from Elixir X, but just a ground targetted skill.
That leaves room for a brand new Elite skill, which is an exciting possibility You’re saying a signet (since we already have a glyph and a conjure). I don’t necessarily disagree but.. what would the signet do?
I mean our other skill types are Arcane, Aura, and Cantrip. I think like Conjures, it’s best if we only have 1 Cantrip and Aura per attunement (my idea is reducing the number of conjures to only have 1 per attunement)
Which leaves Signet, and Arcane
I have no idea what a new elite signet would be since we already have a signet for each attunement plus a healing signet
Arcane I can think of a skill that’d be pretty nice to have as an elite, even if it was originally a mesmer skill in GW1: Arcane Echo. You’d use it and for a duration of time the next skill you use would be duplicated by arcane echo for a period of time, maybe 30s. You’d be able to cast 4 meteor showers in under a minute, or 2-3 static fields, or something like that. It can be highly useful if used right.
The only other real thing is that the way I want to change tornado.. that’s a loss of a source of stability.. so.. some other source of stab would be nice. But frankly I don’t use Tornado for stability because they can just strip it or well, usually they just blow you up in 2-3s because you’re such a big obvious target.
Did they take away the tornado elite from Ele’s?
They took away the ability to use it for boosting power on prior cast skills in particular meteor shower, what it shows to me is that without that unintended use of the skill, there are glaring flaws with the INTENDED use of the skill, largely that if you use it your life expectency is about 5s before you get downed because you’re a HUGE target, everything will focus fire you, in PVE and in WvW. It also bars you from using your healing skills or your utility skills to protect yourself.
I think the only way to make the skill truly viable as an elite is to revamp it completely.
Make it not a transformation but just a big aoe spell with CC. because it pulses only once every 3s it’s easy to avoid taking too much damage from, but it becomes an excellent area denial ability then, throw it on top of a downed ally to res them without having to worry about thieves stealth dunking (dunking with stability would still be possible for counterplay however). I would use it then. Currently I don’t use it because it just gets me downed.
I just now decided to pick up on personal story from forging the pact on my guardian and I…. this makes no freaking sense at all anymore.
The prior arrangement of chapters made sense, you gradually pushed your way through Orr, now you go straight from Concordia to Fort Trinity with 0 development in between it goes instantly from this barely cooperating group operating out of a rickety wood fort that has now been torn apart by Mordrem vines… to operating out of a high tech super reinforced fortress with mega lasers and cannons and the pact working together as an elite fighting force overnight. They’ve got an orb that somehow is a macguffin against the undead that has 0 explanation as to how they came to acquire it, deus ex machina I guess, and you go from Fort Trinity to immediately cleansing the corruption of Orr in cursed shore.
If I were a new player doing this I’d say Arenanet had the worst writing team in the industry.
This was supposed to clarify for new players? No it made it far far worse.
Maybe not the only, but the most consistent about it the past few months. It was annoying in Mad King’s labyrinth too, the door events where you had to kill all remaining foes where everyone just stacked aoe and cleaved with melee weapons to wipe them out? Rangers consistantly knocked enemies out of aoe, even out of their own barrages.
I can only imagine they were facerolling. Literally facerolling across the keyboard. Not putting any thought whatsoever into what they were doing.
You do realize that most of what you were experiencing in the lab was the level up blast, right? Or maybe you are not quite as knowledgeable a player as you think you are.
This happens dozens of times a day in silverwastes, dry top, and orr as well. This is a regular thing.
When we get to Mordremoth, I’m sure the ranger player base will find a way to screw up that fight too.
