This should give you the answer for the other questions in regards to WvW.

Transferring servers generate a big of moolah for anet. WvW players are the only ones who need to transfer servers now. PvE players have it easy. Loot literally scattered on the floor you trip over it! Gold flooding into your wallet! Whilst with WvW we need “balance” to make sure we dont get too much gold, whilst at the same time guild upgrades drain players of their gold and resources. Not forgetting enemy players with multiple accounts wasting away the tactivators which we spent so much of our gold and resources on, so we need to spend even more to take account of such acts of sabotage!
So there’s your answer, keep the WvW players unhappy that they feel that it’s the server that is the problem and force them to continue to skip from one server to another.

Nope, it aint fun any more, hence why so many players continue to leave. We complained about stacked servers, so what did anet do? They stacked servers further and called it linking. Might as well throw gasoline on a fire.

With how much WvW players complain you guys should be thankful ANet continues to even work on WvW honestly. You complain when you don’t get stuff implemented and you complain when new stuff is implemented.

The problem is that it’s not stuff we want or even asked for! And the most important thing is that none of the updates improve or fix any of the problems in WvW! So spending time of the DBL is a waste of time cos only a minority even like the map, the majority would rather see it gone and replaced with another proper WvW BL.

Same old Halloween, and same old Wintersday, there was no new content for either, so how can you claim that the argument for lack of content can be shredded?! Just look at that pdf, Lineage outsold GW2 by a factor of 5, and Lineage is a game from 1998, and Korea and south east asia mostly! Still surprising is that ncsoft get most of their money from Korea, even the US and EU combined gets nowhere near them!

What’s even more unbelievable, is that with the claim from Gaile that WvW is receiving unprecedented communication from the devs, that we’ve not heard from them on this new wave of lag! Oh wait, sorry, that is believable.

Just wait for the next expansion and buy that, if you dont have HoT, it will be included free in the next expansion. WE think the next expansion will be in the coming months.

But why should players have to try to negate the obviously unbalaned condis when anet could just balance it out properly! It’s their job to fix it, not ours to try an live with it!

I levelled all but my first character in WvW, before we had tombs of knowledge as well or EOTM!

It was easy then, because WvW wasnt dead! Even with the bugs players played in WvW.
But it is still easy today, as you said you get tombs from the reward track.
And if you’ve played a lot and not wasted your tombs, you should have a stack or 2 in your bank. Enough to level 3 characters to 80 just by clicking.

When it’s more than just a hand-full of people on one server, but instead a whole load of people on different servers, in different countries, then no, it’s not our connection. It’s anet’s servers.

Nope, the lag is real. Especially over the last couple of weeks we’ve noticed a lot more lag, and skill lag, even when you arent near a zerg fight. The number of players getting disconnects, the number of players getting stuck on the loading screen when they use a waypoint, and now players who get disconnected and cannot log back into the game, just a black screen!

Things are definitely getting really bad now! And where is anet with their “awesome” communication?! “WvW has been given unprecedented levels of communication, interaction, and engagement in recent months.” Well, where is this communication?! Surely you werent just talking about the silly polls!!! 90% of the threads on the first page are complaints, all of which have not had a reply from a dev or mod!

You assume some players go to EB for PPT.

People tend to get annoying when they see an arenanet tag, it’s to point out the problems with WvW which they havent fixed in so long, and/or just attention seeking.

These collection items are supposed to be hard to get. Used to be you got these spoons for almost every kill, that people had stacks of them! But I guess anet changed the drop rate as people were getting annoyed with them.

QoL changes? Is that all it takes to satisfy you?! WvW needs a major overhaul! Not to mention it’s taken them years to implement this since when we first asked.

Nope it was designed for others things, but due to lack of rewards for defending and upkeep of towers, it became a ring a round the tower capture run.
But players like to play together, and so slowly we went from small groups, to guild groups to zergs.
And of course the devs followed the zergs, and so what little attention WvW did get, it was to make the zergs zergier.

WvW could have been so much more, but thanks to the lack of everything to the game mode, it’s slowly dying off. The only thing keeping it going is people transferring to higher servers and the linking which does the same but for zero cost to the players on the lower servers.

Give it another year or two and WvW will be Megaserver WvW, i.e. EOTM

Macros are allowed if they only do one thing, like a keybind, which in itself means macros are not allowed, but they are. Get it?

This mode is a joke now. Pulls, condis, arrow carts, hiding in towers, only pushing when you outnumber the enemy group 3 to 1, zergs.
I would play PvE but that’s just so boring, and sPvP isnt my thing. Think I might just play another game and come back in 20 years time when anet finally release a new map!

This issue has been pointed out to anet countless times. The devs do know about it, but as usual they have done almost nothing to fix it. We’ve given them ideas, but they are not willing to do anything.

I think this just reiterates the fact that HoT killed small guilds for WvW.

Why do 80 man zergs need a Dragon Banner against a 40 man zerg?

Nerf the banner so that it’s power decreases the greater the number of ally players are around it!

There are rumours of another expansion release this year, so I would wait to see if that is the case and buy that instead. You will get the new expansion and HoT free. And if you dont even have the base game, you get all of them!
Note you dont get a key for each expansion, if you already have HoT you just get the expansion, no key to give to a friend.

Yet you dont hear PvE players complain about lag in major events! Just WvW. WvW servers are given low priority and hence low bandwidth capacity, and it is this which leads to lag.

That’s the problem, with anet doing almost nothing for WvW, people are happy for even the smallest thing. This gives anet the excuse to do as little as possible to keep such players playing. I very rarely play now, once a week maybe for a couple hours. That is worth the price of the next expansion, which will be low on content just like HoT.

Everything is annoying with this game lately lol

The last week has seen a huge increase in skill lag, general lag, bugs, disconnections, etc.
Just tonight in SMC I was on an AC and when I used a skill to shoot in a different direction, the AC didnt turn smoothly, it went from 0 degrees, to 30 degrees a second later, then 60 degrees a second after that, and 90 degrees a second after that!
Not seen things this bad since launch!

Nerf everyone except healing elementalists! Our waterfields are what really win or lose a zerg fight, yet we get nothing for it! We have to survive the conditions, we have to dodge the thieves, we have to not run into red circles, all the whilst you heavies run in like madmen triggering every red circle and expect our 2 waterfields are like endless flowing fountains of life!

Over the last couple of months, people have been posting about having WvW tournaments in several threads. People think getting WvW active for a few weeks is the same as fixing it’s problems, they dont seem to realise that a tournament would make things worse right now.

The one thing we DONT want right now or even this year is a WvW tournament!
Why you ask? Well last time players all tried to get into the top ranked server, or at least the top 3 ranked servers. But now we have server linking, and new WvW tournament will cause players to move to the lowest ranked servers in the hopes of being linked with the top 3 ranked servers!
And let us not forget that server populations are now based on WvW activity. BUT this does not included the players who have left the game who are still linked to their server. So imagine players trying to get some of their friends who have not played for years back on. This will make all servers more active, and with the top ranked servers being more populated, they will receive the most recomers.
It would be disastrous! As it would tip over the way servers are linked. It would make things worse rather than better. Yet it will make WvW active for those few weeks, but the unbalanced populations, one of THE MAIN issues we’ve always complained about, IS STILL THERE!
All a new WvW Tournament will do, is make more people leave once it’s finished.

HoT release?! That was over a year ago! This lag has only just appeared for me.

Agreed. Not seen skill lag as bad as this since launch! Anet have definitely done something with the servers! A lot of people have been complaining about it, from different servers!

Come on Anet! You said you had been working on it for over a year, and that was a year ago! You said it would be ready later on in the year and it’s now December 31st! Where is it?!

Theres patch every 2 weeks. I think every patch had something WvW related.

• Green grass made even greener.
• Points are now less pointy for server 2 and 3
• Floaty things have been added, improves something you probably asked for, idk we dont really listen, but it was an easy thing to do and makes it look like we are doing something cool
