Players don’t have unlimited “Free” floating & Globe Transfers still will cost gems.
Map Mechanic that relates.
Enemy-Guest follows a “Guesting” limit of (1-3) Enemy Globes per week that a player can visit. ANet can adjust this number to reduce or prevent un-fair matches, or during tournaments*

Allow WvW to craft PvE equipment.
Do Not Allow PvP Standardized Equipment into WvW.
Create Exclusive WvW Ascended PvE Equipment to Craft.
Many other things could be tied to WvW directly that would require materials & resources that can be purchased for gold.
Gems are traded for gold by the Trader.

I think you’re misunderstanding how the Parent Topic Mechanics works.
Let me make it very clear.
The Parent proposal found in “Reboot the Base Map Mechanic & Population” Topic…Does NOT in any way…allow Megaserver. 
The New Base Map Mechanic that is being proposed will not work with the Megaserver at all.
The Parent Proposal still seeks to Preserve Server Pride by transforming Old World Servers into New Globes. Server names are retained when setting up the New Globes.
Megaserver system picks which instance you spawn with friends & family from what I understand.
How the New Map Mechanic Works from a player’s point of view. Keep in mind that a Megaserver System picks the instance you spawn in.
Given the following choices…Would you prefer to:
A) Fight against 2 Worlds that the System Picks for you at the beginning of every week.
Or
B) Fight against 2 Worlds that you choose at the beginning of every week from a choice of 24 NA - and - 27 EU Home Globes.
Option A = Current Map Mechanic
Option B = Proposed New Map Mechanic & Global Theaters of War
The proposed New Map Mechanic & Global Theaters of War will let you play with friends & family.
If you’re in a different Home Globe away from your friends & family…then just pick an Enemy Globe that you both can meet on then team-up & fight together there.
This New Base Map Mechanic will not work with the Megaserver system at all. Players pick where they want to go. The system does not pick the instance that you spawn in.

I’ll be honest…I prefer the Old Alpine Borderland. New Desert Borderland seems to need a higher number of players in my opinion to reach a critical mass before the fun begins.
I have to agree with the below idea from xaiMera.
Anet should just bring back old wvw and put the new one on public beta again, that way they can test and implement suggestions and hopefully fix all it’s issues.
1) Put the Old Alpine back. Attract the old WvW veterans back into playing.
2) Put the New Desert BL into Public Beta.
3) Implement a Reboot of Base Map Mechanic & Population using the Public Beta.
4) Work out problems while WvW population level stabilizes & hopefully go back up.
5) Allow WvW population to leave Old Alpine Map and play more in Public Beta.
Please make Desert BL more simple.
1) Re-do & remove Vertical structures…put in ramps.
2) Remove PvE Center Event…put back Ruins, or use a less battle changing event…that uses minimal client AND server resources.
3) Make Upgrades Manual & Free for players on their Home Globe 3 BLs. Enemies need to pay Gold to Manual Upgrade on your Home Globe’s 3 BLs. Everybody pays Gold to Manual Upgrade on their EB Map.

You have a good & valid point.
Standardized PvP Gear is not bad for WvW per se.
If ANet does decide to implement it. I would hope for a compromise.
Letting players use both PvP Standardized Gear & Crafted PvE Gear in WvW.
I can imagine being able to quickly test things with the PvP Standardized Gear…that can later be applied in the outside PvE World…which I really don’t like to play…but there might be WvW players that do. 
You’ll have to convince ANet…I don’t mind having both worlds. Just don’t taketh away my Crafted PvE Gear in WvW.
Sorry to go off topic…Everybody knows that Traveler Runes don’t work with Golems anymore…it’s a sad day to havoc in WvW nowadays.

Economics is about supply & demand.
1) Crafting PvE equipment requires a lot of resources (Craft Skills, Materials, Runes, etc.)
2) Many Builds typically don’t use the same equipment.
3) Players can farm materials themselves, or buy materials from trader.
4) Players can buy Gems & Trade for In Game Gold to buy materials.
5) ANet has a vested interest in having the WvW Community using the PvE equipment.
Just my opinion, but this would be a bad idea that will have a huge impact to the GW2 economy & to ANet’s ability to generate Real World Dollar Revenues…that I believe subsidizes the existence of the GW2’s pay once…and no Monthly Subscription model.
It’s not ridiculous to say that ANet needs to have a large population of PvE…and the subset that is called WvW to continue & use PvE equipment…this creates a huge demand for materials & resources…imho.
WvW is actually more of a PvP subset than it is to PvE…don’t want ANet Devs to think it’s PvE.
So you’re seriously asking ANet to forgo their liveliehood because you feel that you’re being denied a service in WvW?
So…according to you:
1) GW2 Economy does not seem important & it’s adaptable.
2) Not having PvP Standardized Gear denies you a service in WvW.
So…I’m guessing…you also believe, but correct me if I’m wrong:
ANet is not really motivated to sell gems.
ANet is willing to supress demand for gems to provide better service to players.
ANet is somehow able to generate a steady revenue stream to keep GW2 running from items found in the Black Lion Trader.
The initial price paid by a player is more than enough to cover the monthly, annual, and development expenses for the life that the player will play GW2.
If you really prefer PvP Standardized Gear…then I hope ANet does a compromise.
They let you use your PvP Standardized Gear & let me continue to use my Crafted PvE Gear.
We get the best of both worlds.
In my opinion…
Standardized PvP Gear is not bad for WvW per se.
Standardized PvP Gear in WvW is bad for the general well-being of the GW2 Gem Selling Economy that ANet depends on to make a livelihood…which ultimately impacts GW2 survival as a business model…and the development of new content & services.

I agree…that in my opinion that the following problems are hitting the WvW game mode:
1) Population levels are dropping in WvW.
2) Population continues to migrate to Top Tiers where it’s more “fun” there.
3) Population concentrates play in Old EB map instead of New Desert BL.

The intent of this sub-topic thread was to see if there was a way to re-engineer the Base Map Mechanic that would allow WvW to use the Megaserver system.
I’m still not convinced that it’s possible based on what I’m seeing here.
If it’s possible to re-engineer the Base Map Mechanic…then I’d encourage the person who posted the idea…to create a New Topic.
This New Topic would then be presented as an Alternative to my Proposal to “Reboot the Base Map Mechanic & Population”.
I look forward to seeing more discussion, but I’m hoping someone will take the lead to create a New Topic to move this concept along & to provide the details that ANet Developers will need to bring this idea to code.

I agree…WvW has many different things to do.
It’s critical to have someone to do things with.
You can only fight against players from 2 World Servers in the Current Map Mechanic.
The New Map Mechanic allows different players to meet & play on any Shared Enemy World Globe.
This should allow you to play with friends or family that could be on different World Globes.
Which gives you more choices in who you can play with.
I think that should be the roll of EotM not WvW (mind you that i feel EotM should be more of an open pvp zone with chosen sides and a pve like end of match reward and have it comply removed from wvw.) I am suggesting having a 4 game type the open rvr or open pvp by changing EotM.

I have to disagree with you about the tier concept being right.
ANet has already tried to fix the mechanics that you refer to as post implementation.
I don’t think there’s a simple way to fix the mechanics related to its “post implentation” parts in my opinion.
I’d rather introduce a New Base Map Mechanic that would replace this Tier based sytem.
The original design as you detail should work, but it doesn’t take into account players wanting to play on the Top Winning WvW Server & constantly migrating to them from the lower Tiers.

One thing that i think anet did right was the tier concept…
The only broken part was the way they handled it post implementation.
For me… the system should work on a match-up style where every week one server goes up.. and one goes down on the tier.. except tier 1 where there is no way to go up and last tier where there is no way to go down..
So for example..Server A x server B x Server C
A finishes on first position
B finishes second
C finishes third.On the next match up week server A goes up a tier and server C goes down a tier. Server B remais where he is to fight the new oponents..
Server A slot is filled by the server who dropped from the tier he is joining..
Server C slot is filled by the server who went up a tier from and so on..This would make every server try hard every week and stop the game politics such as “server x pushing week”
And this would make sure you would be constantly fighting different oponents every now and then..
I actually like server pride and tier concept.. but anet doesnt know what to so about it..

I haven’t read all of it (yet) but regarding the server pride area, I suggest that a player should be rewarded (either with incentives or titles/AP) for staying loyal to particular server whether its going up or going down like a sinking ship. It will help the bandwagoning which usually happens just before a season to some extent.

Hello All,
Launching a game is an enormous undertaking and our teams need time to address any issues that come up. Therefore after launch we must move WvW reset to Saturday. We will keep resets on Saturday to address issues and once we are in the clear we will evaluate the best time for WvW reset both for us as a company as well as for our players.
Since it is clear that we cannot pick a time that will work for everyone, we will be maintaining our original plan of shifting reset by 24 hours, to Saturday evening. That time was based on data for when prime time occurs in each region.

Awwww come on…you’re gonna say that Travelers & Golems promotes KTrainers arguement?
Here’s what I believe are more characteristic of KTrains:
1) Can easily Portal a Large Number of Golems far more Faster & Efficiently with multiple Mesmers coordinating.
2) Can easily defend a Golem against (1-3) roamers being out in an open field.
3) Can easily build any type of siege at gate or wall with the amount of supplies in zerg.
4) Capping an objective quickly not as important if single defender calls for support and 2 show up to help.
Small Havok (1-3 people) groups need Travelers more than KTrains in my opinion:
1) Travel fast with their 1-2 golems.
2) Can NOT really defend their golem against (1-3) roamers being out in an open field.
3) Can NOT build any type of siege without having to do multiple supply runs.
4) Capping an objective quickly is CRITIICAL if single defender calls for support and 2 show up to help.
Have you ever played as a scout/havoc team, or do you follow your Commander most of the time?
Sorry…just want ANet to fix this. Little League guilds are dying since HoT launched.
It’s rough enough being a PUG Commander…this nerf really hurts when trying to motivate the few troops on your map to fight.
That’s amazing that your map still has nightly 12-omega trains to your Garrison…I mean Rampart. I haven’t seen any consistent golem activity since HoT launched a month ago.
However, I seriously doubt all 12 Omega Golem drivers are using Traveler runes as their primary source to move quickly. Chances are…maybe 1/2 the drivers use Travelers. Might be different in Tier 1-6…where it’s a requirement for Golem drivers.
You believe what you will…Travelers & Golems typically benefit the Small Havoc groups that need to Ninja Objectives in my opinion.

Sadly…I agree with you. ANet does read posts here, but typically don’t respond. The WvW forum is like an angry bee hive after all the bad history. The devs & management that took over their predecessor’s work…probably have a rough time figuring out what to do with us.
They also probably don’t play WvW daily so wouldn’t know what we’re trying to say in most of our discussions. They’re even quoted as saying WvW players are really PvE players of all things.

Today the walls keeps flickering. Desert Borderland SE tower.
We breached it, but the wall seemed to still be up. We entered the tower, but it really was confusing to try and run in after the breach.

This forum in my opinion is like the tabloid magazine rack. Most people won’t want to read detailed & boring stuff. They want Jerry Springer style content.
The serious reporting & discussion typically will take a back seat, or will end up in a chair flinging…all out fist fight brawl with emotions flaring…because people can’t be bothered to read the other person’s previous posts before throwing punches. 
Yes, it’s difficult to try and be constructive, but there are a few posts that can be considered high quality discussions…if you look carefully.
It’s not easy to keep things constructive, but if have a really good plan…you might get lucky & make some progress.
