Lightdivinity – Level 80 Bunker Elementalist
Reshaos – Level 80 Power Necromancer
I’ve got a 20 gold bet going on with a guildie.
I say Kaineng will not make it past tier 4.
He says they will go up to tier 2 or tier 1.
Would anyone else like to get in on this wager?
Um, the week I was on their server didn’t seem like tier 3 quality. That doesn’t mean they don’t have the numbers to compete up there though. That means, sure, their mometum may slow down but they can always improve their tactics and skill levels to make it to higher tiers.
Read what exactly? His post states that the 20 person limit failed to fix the mass portaling of players and the rendering of them.
And guess what I am saying? ITS A VALID TACTIC. Oh snap! :O
Portal bombing is a valid tactic. If a guild now has to have 2+ mesmers to portal bomb one location than they should be allowed.
And again, it’s the culling you hate about the portal bombing, I doubt the portal bomb itself. Because, again, if it really is the portal bomb itself you hate (if there was no rendering issue MIND YOU) than back to my example of an untouchable balista….
Learn to comphrened.
Guys, there is nothing wrong with portal bombing. It is the CULLING that you should be complaining about. Portal bombing is a legit tactic used a TON in higher tiers
Guess what you have to do? Just like any other tactic, learn to counter it!
And yes you can counter it.
I hate balista’s placed in unreachable areas within a tower/keep. The only way to reach some is by a well placed balista of your own or a treb, oh wait that would be countering it. Let’s just nerf that instead.
Hahaha! Go Kaineng go! You didn’t let down
.
695 ppt FTW guys!
I am not on Kaineng but I was for one week in order to complete my map completion. I am watching them to see how many tiers they can go up while still painting the BL’s and EB their color.
That’ll change in tier 5.
Tier 5 is the dawn of 24/7 servers and tier 4 has them as a requirement.
There coverage isn’t too bad. I posted this earlier but their pugs and tactics could use improvement.
I am on BG which is in tier 1 and have only played in tier 3 and above, so I have seen a lot of impressive tactics
.
The one week I was on Kaineng for 100% map completion I joined in every now and than to WvW with them. I only commanded one and that was it, but there was definitely a difference in their pugs from higher tiers.
I am sure they are getting better and better though! So I am truly psyched about how far they can accomplish
.

Current Score:
Come on! I wanna see that 695 ppt Kaineng
!
Score updates please.
well, defining “competitive” can be quite subjective, if you are referring to switching back to BG to be “competitive” in Tier 1, sure… But if you were on the receiving end of BG’s force while on TC and decided to go back to BG, I am not sure how you can call it being competitive. Isnt it always “fun” when you end up being in first place, at least in Tier 2? It sure is
Actually, I probably only played two, maybe three days max against BG. The rest of the time I was on Kaineng finishing my 100% World Completion and doing karma trains since they wipe all BL’s and EB right now, in order to help get my legendary.
But what I stated is why I switched back. Not the fact that BG is winning in tier 2 but the fact they are in a much much better position regarding recruitment than TC.
Sure, BG may lose in tier 1 and that’ll still be fine with me. If i wanted to join the “top” server, than I would have gone SoS.
Well, currently Kaineng is on its way up to the top althought it may be boring for a few weeks as you completely obliterate the other two servers.
Blackgates overnight crew is amazing and we could always use more help during NA primetime
.
Ah so you left TC for Blackgate?
I did. It was my original home anyway. BG to TC than back to BG.
No hard feelings towards TC. I love TC’s community and love the guild I was in (PiNK).
I am just a competitive person. BG is in a much better position than TC is regarding transfers. TC is a near full server needing A LOT more overnight coverage. BG is a near full server just needing more people during NA primetime. Which one is likely to fill their coverage? I just didn’t see whole guilds risk transferring to a near full server such as TC for overnight coveage, and that is what you guys need.
Sorry
.I play the game to have fun. And I am having fun already on BG.
Ok, that isn’t a very fair comparison.
SoR is having to deal with us (Blackgate). Our overnight coverage is prety hardcore too. No offense to Dragonbrand but I doubt they are facing an overnight coverage like a tier 2/tier 1 server can provide.
i dont remember the poster asking for great overnight coverage that could put points on a T1 server and Dragonbrand will be in the same match up next week they are this week so if they move up too far they will have issues but they are actually in a great fairly even match up with two stable servers and will likely stay there for awhile – the match up above them also looks stable
so is it fair to SoR no but is it fair Honolulu has this for weather like 365 days a year 78°F (26°C), Wind E at 10 mph (16 km/h), 58% Humidity
Lol, good point.

I gotta hand it to Choo for killing BG pugs with their portal bomb tactics. Sooner or later, the pugs will learn how to properly counter a completely stationary ball of players.
5 Necros = bye bye ball.
5 Warhammers = bye bye ball.It works extremely well right now. I recommend to keep on doing it that way our pug’s can learn to counter it now than later in tier 1.
Do you pull your punches on our “Pugs”? Is that some unwritten rule that your never supposed to portal bomb a pug group or something?
What? I think you took what I said wrong. There is no sarcasm at all in my post. I am complimenting your portal bomb strategy as it is working right now. (This next part isn’t sarcasm) I ask that you keep doing it so our pugs learn to counter it now rather than trying to learn in tier 1.
Relax man
.
Hmm, I am curious about others performance too.
Computer Specifications:
- i7 3930k Six Core Processor OC’d to 4.6ghz.
- Corsair Dominator 32GB RAM.
- Intel SATA III 224GB SSD (GW2 Installed Here).
- Western Digital Black 1TB HDD.
- EVGA Geforce 680 GTX 2GB.
All settings maxed and VSync is turned on.
I am honestly not sure what FPS I get during Zerg vs Zerg fights but its acceptable most of the time since I do not notice a difference.
However, during real intense Zerg vs Zerg fights with all the special affects skills going on my computer definitely takes a hit. Still playable but everything moves in slow-mo for about 3 seconds initially.
What’s even more interesting is the pretty low FPS I get in Lions Arch. Its like 20 to 40 I think. I may record some gameplay later.

Great video! But were majority of those people upleveled or somethig. They folded under one skill (not even 100b either).
To be honest, I am finding some of these types of people even in tier 2 US. They are left with 1/4 health after Burning Speed on a bunker built elementalist lol.
More loot for us right
?
Different scenario: Ranger gets pulled off wall, zerg focuses Ranger, ok no prob pop SoS or Protect Me! Assuming you have those in utilities. Ranger thinks he is safe with 6s of no damage. Ranger gets rooted ok pop SoR once again assuming you have it on your bar, which you probably don’t, this is also assuming you don’t get stunned which is unlikely because you’re getting focused by a Zerg although this could be helped if you have traits or pop RaO, but once again this is assuming you have all of this in your build. Ranger breaks first root only to be rooted once again, watches pet die instantly from Protect Me!, watches health bar disappear, qq, it’s ok though the Ranger only has to wait like 6s for Lick Wounds to be available, miraculously Zerg doesn’t instantly burst down Ranger so he pops lick wounds, Lassie comes over and just stands there, well kitten.
I don’t really care though because A-net seems to be ok with rangers, eng, and necros being assclowns so it’s fine.
If the zerg knows how to use root then the elementalist won’t escape either, really has nothing to do with profession at that point.
Very much this. If that zerg has just CC’d you 5 times than you will die regardless of which class you are.
As in Elementalist, Immoblized is our worst enemy at all times, especially in Mist Form!
I love videos like this. I don’t care if it was against 20 or 30, that’s still impressive control of a fight by using terrain and your combos effectively.
Great teamwork!
AKA
We are further investigating this video for some upcoming nerfs to elementalists! Stay tuned!
Just kidding Mike <3 xD.
Its a normal moderator, probably not a developer who has close insight to mechanics and such.
Developers aren’t in charge with coming up with the rules.
They only do as they’re told.
Why is it hard to believe that 5 legit players, working as a team, would do this? 5 players run the dungeon normally, two heavy DPSer’s stay while the other three leave. 3x random players pay for the remaining 3x slots.
3×20g = 60g / the original 5 players = 12g per player pure profit.
Very impressive regardless if they were upleveled or spec’d glass cannon.
This video shows excellent set of teamwork between 3x players. Yes, IoJ could have killed them if their players made the right choices.
Don’t you know? MMO players have to abbreviate every single thing in the game — presumably for the sake of convenience[/quote]
You mean like how majority of the people in the world use the abbreviation “etc”?
Hmmmmmmmmmm…..
I just hope BG doesn’t turn into one of those things…bandwagoners hop on, the influx in coverage leads to domination of T1, and then everyone leaves because there’s nowhere else to go but down.
Not fun. Well, unless that loss of people leads to us stabilizing back in T2 with SoR. :>
This already happened a while back.
Guys, who cares if people get the perception that WM is what made you move up in tiers. Just be grateful you have WM. I know TC could definitely use WM and would welcome them with open arms.
The WM guild leader on why they transferred to Kaineng.
http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/78151-from-war-machine/
Not sure if that was the original posting of that letter.
That’s one of the posts I was referring to in my post
. That’s just one of many though.
Actually from what I read, WM has permanently moved to Keineng. The post that stated they were “training” there was posted months ago.
From what I read, WM got tired of the exploits in tier 1. Some of the people in WM began exploiting themselves and their server SBI didn’t like that. WM got split up a bit, particularly their oceanic crew, and majority of them transferred to Keineng permanently.
But that is just what I have read from multiple posts spread out over multiple threads. If WM want’s to clear it up. Please do.
@Klaytax
Actually ask anyone on the forums and I bet most will say that people transfer to the “winning” server.
Your post is the complete opposite of what everyne on these forums complain about with transfers. When a guild transfers everyne jumps on their case and asks. “If you really need a challenge than why not help a server from the lower tier?”
So it is quite amusing to read your post lol. The guild transfers just can’t win with anybody it seems.
Keineng is where I just spent this week doing it. They are wiping the entire BL’s.
Awesome responses guys! I was expecting people to tell me to stop acting like I am betteror higher than you guys. To “get off my high horse”. But these responses are great!
I really do hope you guys can pull it together and tie the loose ends. No doubt with WM on the server you guys will definitely be taught well. Those guys know their WvW
!
You claimed in your earlier post that your “skill” went up when playing thief because you could 1 v 5 which you couldn’t do on your Warrior or Guardian. I just showed you an Ele that could 1 v 5, and survive so does that make them overpowered too?
Lol, funny how you’re ignoring all the responses to your video.
And let me state some obvious problems with that video. The video is EDITED. He isn’t going to show video of him dying in 2v1 or 1v1 situations. he is only showing him vs X idiots. Did you notice that every person would stand in his big giant red churning earth (our deadliest attack)? Did you also notice how NOBODY used not even 1 single CC!?
That video proves nothing at all. I can put a couple of people who barely can work a fuel pump, on level 5 characters and destroy them with my d/d ele. Does that really prove anything?
The fact is, I run a 20k health bunker ele and still get bursted down by the occassional thief. Does that mean I cannot kill a thief? Not at all. I killed two last night with a buddy of mine at the same time.
But when majority of players can roll X class and dominate the field with little to no effort than something is wrong.
And before you say, “your glass cannon or l2p vs thiefs”. I am a BUNKER built d/d elementalist with 20k health. The ONLY thing I do on GW2 is WvW, majority of the time I am rolling solo taking camps. I have even taken towers by myself! And my d/d Elementalist is the ONLY class I have and play. So its safe to assume I know how to play my class well, and how to counter other classes.
I honestly don’t care that thiefs can burst so hard but their ability to burst and miss you than go perma stealth, come back and retry is an issue. Even if you knock them down, they teleport a few feet away to get back on their feet, keep their distance, and stealth to regain CD’s.
What needs to be done is if the thief has a condition on them than show a visual representation of it. So if they have bleed stacks= blood gushing out, etc etc. This visual should be seen while they are stealthed. This will give thiefs their precious ability to drop players in less than a second but give others a higher chance to kill that stealthed thief.
Hello Kaineng!
After playing on your server for a week to finish my 100% map completion, I feel like I could give some food for thought.
As a die hard WvW player, I have been playing in tier 3 to tier 1 since I joined Guild Wars 2. I have seen a lot of different tactics and strategies used by most servers. That’s about all you should care about me.
Anyways, being a die hard WvW player, WvW is all I do on GW2, so of course I joined in on the fun on Kaineng from time to time
.
Here is what I saw (and please do not take offensively but rather as constructive criticism to help improve in the future):
- Most PUG’s do not listen. They listen to an extent. They will sometimes follow you but that’s only half important in WvW. The other half is, as a commander, giving an order and the PUG’s volunteer to execute said order. (Ex. We are headed to Arah’s to supply up, can I get 5 of your to head to Vale to take it back, please type 1 in map chat if you will do this so other’s won’t head that way) or (Ex. I need 4 elementalist on me with a focus, we are going to try to counter treb their treb at briar from bay.). (Ex. Garrison was being taken in an enemy borderland. I am shouting for reinforcements, shouting which doors they are hitting, and shouting which siege to start building, I was the ONLY person in that Garrison! That is a BIG problem! Garrison is the absolutely last thing you want to lose if you can prevent it. These types of orders seem to fall on deaf ears sadly :/.
- Some PUG’s like to argue with the commanders. For example, I had one guy tell me last night “maybe it’s because we just don’t like that strategy.” Cool beans, but if there is only one commander on than whether or not you disagree with his strategy you should at least offer to help. I hope it will become apparent as I continue with this post as to why you should follow him.
- Siege placement and using that siege. Ok, last night I saw someone build a cata on the wall of south east bay. There was not a single arrow cart placed on that wall. Yea. I will explain more on how to improve on this in a bit.
Now, the above is just some problems off the top of my head. These are also crucial and major problems! You will get completely demolished in higher tiers if the above does not improve. I understand some of you think you’re Godlike with your numbers, but the numbers you field is only a 1/4 of the numbers that appear in tier 2+ at any given time.
What should you do about it? Well, right now you obviously have the population for higher tiers. Population. So right now you’re completing dominating ET and FC on sheer numbers alone. What you should be doing during this time is trying to improve on the above problems.
Things to consider doing RIGHT NOW:
- Try to run new tactics as a commander. If they fail? Who cares, you’re 200k+ points ahead and can easily PVDoor the tower/keep to regain. Right now is the PERFECT time to learn about counter siege and over all tactics without being discouraged or discouraging your PUG’s. You will NOT get this chance in upper tiers! I will emphasize that again, you will NOT get this chance in upper tiers! TAKE ADVANTAGE NOW!
- If you are a person who knows all the cool counter siege placement tricks, where arrow carts should go to hit optimal spots without being touched, etc etc, than start placing that siege. I understand you don’t want to waste your money and you feel it’s unimportant. Here is the deal though, people will start seeing that siege in the exact same place, day after day after day, they will remember this! So when it comes time to place their own siege, they will place it where they remember!
Anyways, I gotta finish getting ready for work so I don’t have time to type out a longer response, sorry. The above should get you started though. Please do not take this offensively, or see me as being on my “high horse”. If you choose to ignore these problems, than sooner or later you will have to own up to them. Let’s just hope your WvW population doesn’t abandon ship when the time comes for you guys to get wrecked due to failing to address these problems
.
Good luck guys. Time to transfer back off.

Yeah, zerg servers. Great gameplay
/sarcasm
Lol, wait until you get into upper tiers. Zerg’s are all too common.
Wait, if you cheat on your taxes or otherwise break the law, you’re not innocent. I thought your analogy was about the people going about their daily lawful business that get thrown in jail anyway. If you’re cheating in-game, you should be banned.
I think you misunderstood my analogy. When I said cheating on taxes and rocking the craddle those are what you’re being accused OF not what you DID.
For instance, man sees little girl standing in his drive way. He says good evening little girl. Girl cries home screaming and making up stories about the man stating dirty things to her. Is the man innocent? Yes. But who get’s screwed over? The man.
You bring your taxes to get done by an excellent accountant you heard. He tells you will receive X amount of dollars. Hurray! Two months later, IRS is auditing you. Who cares right? Bam, you cheated on your taxes. Fined!
The above two situations are very limited but possible scenarios. But very unlikely! Unlikely is the key!
Anyways, I do respect your opinion about not being afraid.
Well, comparing a locked GW2 account to spending the rest of my life in jail when I’m innocent is a pretty extreme analogy. Even so, no, I don’t spend 1 second of my free, out-of-jail time agonizing because maybe someday I’ll be one of those innocents in jail forever. If it happens, I’ll deal with it then. There’s no use in wasting time now worrying about it happening someday.
Likewise, I’m going to enjoy the game without agonizing over the remote possibility that I’ll be mistakenly kicked off of it.
The difference between the two is in real life you got a SLIM chance of being in a situation where you can be falsely accused of something.
Cheating on your taxes? Rocking the craddle? All these situations involve you putting yourself in them and running the risk.
Now, how often do people use Guild Banks? All the time! How often do people send money via the mailing system? All the time! And this is what people are getting banned for.
My assessment is that there was a tiny set of bans that shouldn’t have happened. The net to catch real-money traders was cast a little too broadly. I certainly don’t see a TON, though, given the number of players on this game.
And some of the reports here might not be factual. It’s the internet. People can say whatever they want. Gold-sellers would love it if ArenaNet eased up on bans and spent/wasted more time researching up-front. Why wouldn’t they join in on the cry that the bans are happening without enough due diligence?
I trust that ArenaNet will tune their filters better. They want us to be happy with the game and with how our own accounts are handled. In the meantime, I’m not going to worry over something where I have no control. What am I gonna do? Quit before they can make me sit out for a few days? I’d rather play.
Yes, but just like the justice system there are errors. Innocent people wind up in jail for life and never get proven innocent.
That’s the real scary situation here. Nothing would kill your joy more than all your hard work taken in a mere second.
As I was browsing the forum, I saw a TON of false ban reports regarding people giving gold/materials to family members and spouses through the mailing system. I even saw false ban reports of getting banned by taking materials or gold out of Guild banks!?
Is this concerning to anyone!?
I mean, I just start a guild this morning to group all my co-workers, real life friends, and family members into. That’s quite a few people. What if one of them buys gold illegally and send that gold to us? What about materials or gifts sent to us? Will HE get banned or will the receiver?
This is a very valid concern. I should not be held accountable for the actions of other people. The person who bought the illegal gold or materials should be banned not the receiver of the goods. It isn’t our fault that they made a poor choice. And I shouldn’t have to be concered about whether or not the gift sent was obtained legitly.
I bought this game to have fun and be relaxing. If I wanted to walk on egg shells about the gifts being sent to me in the mail than I would just stick with real life. Not a game.
Looks like it was corrected. But now it is stuck again, this time even closer.
When I got there they were ALL wiped out, except the counter at the top right said 1/7 were alive lol.
Anyways, killed the mobs around them and ressurected them. But yet, they stand there.
I will see if I can move the giant to them again or something.
I just want to buy some obsidian shards with my karma! xD
UPDATE: You can actually revive the fallen NPC that is bugging the event using the skill: Glyph of Renewal (Elementalist).
Sadly, once I revived the fallen NPC, the entire event reset and there is not enough people to even finish one pact event :/.
(edited by DivineBeing.2086)
That is crazy.
LFG Fractal Level 5…. xD
This is working as intended. The churning earth that gets created by evasive arcana is a much weaker form. It is churning earth because it is also a combo finisher. Ring of earth is not a combo finisher.
If you see the in screenshot it states, “Revive dead pact allies”. But it states that 7/7 pact allies are alive. However, there is one dead pact ally which you cannot revive him.
Kaening Server in the map Straits of Destruction.
We actually did kill him once.
I hope that, for the sake of realism, you all /point-ed and /dance-d and /laugh-ed and performed the /sit maneuver upon his corpse, then ran off to the forums to brag about how good you and your server are and how terrible he is.
HAHA! Quoting for the very truth of this!

I’d like to think we’d welcome anyone who had the heart and enthusiasm to fight for TC. Enthusiasm can be nurtured into a great player.. Otherwise we appear to be cherry picking snobs, and that’s really not what our community is like at all.
And we can, but I think we should triple emphasis the coverage that we really need rather than a vague topic such as this one that states “we need people”.
That’s also why I opened a new topic that does just that. Emphasised which time zones we really need help in. I also approached recruiting in a much different manner. Instead of using the very common and usual “we have the best community ever speal” (cause everyone from every server thinks that), I used statistics and raw data of our previous match ups and performances.
I am not devaluing this topic at all, just merely pointing out the reasoning behind why I created a new topic. This thread has done it’s job in the past but I think we need something more specific now.

In other words, Tarnished Coast is sort of the alternative to the bandwaggon servers. We will not tolerate anyone who comes along just to grief or exploit. We gladly welcome those players who want to cooperate and communicate.
True, but if we just keep stacking more and more people in our prime time what exactly is that going to really help?
More people that join to play during our prime time = the less slots available for the coverage we really need = the less likely of the chance a guild or two would risk coming to a close to full server.
I hope that makes sense.
Btw, if anyone just saw a wondering d/d elementalist in EB around BG towers that was me. I wasn’t trying to exploit or anything. I was trying to hug the towers close enough to get the POI’s xD.
Alas, I could not get them
.
I state this because I ran into three people who decided to attack me as I walked by them at first. I had to kill you guys, sorry. Next time don’t attack me
.
I am kind of in the same boat, except mine are in EB and consist of SoR’s Keep/Towers lol.
People seem to forget the reason why HoD fell so hard.
The TA alliance that was there WvW broke apart!
Again, I’ll just say this …. setting player ratios will only create queues, particularly for servers facing opponents with weaker coverage in that time slot. Again using the BG/SoR/TC matchup as an example, SoR and TC queues would be massive during the EST primetime period I listed above, and queues are not good.
Yes, at first it would create queues. These queues wil cause frustration. This will result in people transferring to different servers, which results in what? Balanced WvW populations. So instead of it coming down to who has better coverage, it’ll come down to which server has better skill/strategy.
