It was alright. It was a mixed group of like 5 of us in team speak and the rest were 15ish random pugs. Hopefully a guild will either log in or transfer to the BL to really do the job!

I hope people aren’t being sarcastic when they mention one useful feature about Guild Wars 1 UI which magically deems it to be not archaic.

They are really good ideas, except I think some of the additions to the Superior Arrow Cart would be a little over powered. Maybe take out the “vulnerability” in the area.

Everything else seems like a great idea to increase the incentive to build superior siege over normal siege.

Um, depends who you’re referring to dictate that it “matters”.

If you’re asking it individually, which class really matters that I choose to get the most kills? Than anything that hits multiple targets and doesn’t die fast, so anything but a thief.

If you’re asking for the zerg as a whole, than I would say Guardians/Ele’s to keep the zerg on it’s legs and standing with full health. Necros/Warriors/Mesmers to decimate the enemy zerg.

I think Kaineng is fielding 4 map queues in really late Oceanic. FA never has any queues at these periods of the day (even reset day) so NNK & co. were a lot more effective.. still pretty surprised to see DB sitting that low during their prime, kinda says Kaineng would beat FA / TC or it’d be extremely close..

Man! I REALLY cannot wait to face Kaineng. I want to see how they stand next to BG.

That may be true, but if Kaineng sits at 500+ ppt for 8 hours+ every night….well let’s just say your 200-300 ppt for the rest of the 16 hours (if you even have that coverage) won’t matter much.

AND another point, this is reset weekend! All servers are staying up later and fighting longer and harder. Just wait until the week days come. That is where the holes in coverage really become problems. You won’t be able to have your 20+ NA players staying up til 5AM holding keeps/towers.

I was thinking a Mesmer would fit his criteria. Build a mesmer with a greatsword and focus on shattering clones.

Down state does not mean the player is dead.

So when you put a player in a downed state that doesn’t mean you “won”. You just now have an advantage over them so you can now easily win.

Think of the downed state as blacking out for a very short period in real life. So if you were in a real life fight and were hit so hard or for so long that you temporarily blacked out, than that would be a “downed state”. You aren’t out but you’re definitely in a very vulnerable state which your friends should flee to help you stand back up.

And so the Kaineng legacy continues. That’s the scores I was waiting to see!

I am honestly a little worried about the fight against FA.

When I was on TC, we crushed FA, but their players are infact individually skilled. I always believed if those players would come together and get organized than they could really shake the battlefields.

Yea, I disagree with a lot of posts here too.

Bring them back the way they were. They gave a HUGE benefit so it forced all three servers to stop what they were doing and all three had to batle it out amounst each other.

You wanna stop the fly hackers from stealing the orb from inside the keep. The solution is EASY than. The Altar of Power cannot be attacked unless the inner wall/keep is down.

That’ll stop 99% of hackers.

It’s funny how people throw around the word “zerg” as if it’s a bad word. And it’s even more funny when people complain that X server is the “zergiest” considering *the higher the tier, the stronger, bigger, and more tactical the “zergs” become.

Maybe the hardcore guilds in SoS realize its not worth fighting the remainder of the week since they will remain in t1 anyway.

What does the government do when it goes to war….send an ARMY (IE ZERG!)

What does the government do when it needs to carry out a special mission….send a special force team (IE 5-10 man groups).

Yes, even real life cannot fix zerging….Why? More people = higher chance to get things done. There is a situation that calls for zerging and a situation that calls for 5-10 man groups. Time to learn that it will never go away.

I mean I understand why you guys like small groups so much. I cannot lie and say I do not, but you cannot sit there and fault zergs.

In small man groups, it is very easy to tell how you contributed.

In a zerg, it’s not as noticable but in fact you really did. This gives you less satisifaction than a small group.

If you’re in a very well coordinated steam-rolling guild than you may not feel a since of “man I am really good”, but more of a “wow guys, we completely demolished that zerg!”. It’s a different feeling.

I suggest joining a very coordinated group. You know, one that requires people to run with a certain build and fullfill a certain role in that zerg. And I think you may find yourselves liking zerging even more.

Actually, Kaineng is slated to fight BG and TC in tier 2!

Yep, I have no doubt we (BG) will be back in tier 2 next week. You have to remember that BG still lacks Aussie coverage which shows the most during the week where people can’t stay up as late.

Honestly, that is completely fine with me since we will be fighting against the Kaineng beast. It will be a nice change of pace for us.

I believe it should be kept the way it is.

A group of 30 players shouldn’t be brought to their knees by one guy.

And I don’t think it should be removed because than you will have a group of 5 players just hanging out at a supply camp you just capped waiting for your zerg to leave to cap it right back. This buff will discourage, not prevent but discourage, players from doing this.

As the other two posters have pointed out. Server stacking will no longer be a problem starting next week due to paid transfers.

I cannot wait for two more days to see where the WvW match up’s stable out to.

Please keep in mind these queue’s are during RESET days ONLY.

Reset Night: 10 to 20 minute queues in all BL’s.
Anything after Reset: 5 minute queues in BG BL and EB. No queue times ever in the other two BL’s.

Allow me to correct your misconceptions about Blackgate. What hurt Blackgate was the “forum-warrior” “kitten-talk” done against us. In our first week of T1, shortly into the matchup, an individual ‘hacked’ one of the orbs of power. Note I said individual. This is key. The entire server did not ‘hack’ an orb. One player did. This is something that most folks we were playing against could not seem to grasp.

Then the smear campaign started. At the time, our guilds were using strategy that T1 guilds had not seen at that point. Turtling/portal bombs, etc. Things that are now considered normal strategy. The problem was, nobody in T1 had apparently seen these tactics used before. When they saw a mesmer portal used properly, players immediately flocked to the forums claiming that those strategies were hacks and exploits. Our first week in T1, every single day multiple threads were created claiming that Blackgate had hacked something else, when clearly we had not. A few days into the matchup, we lost multiple guilds because they were tired of all the unfounded hate. A few of our larger WvW guilds transferred to SOS at that time.

You guys recall that bug that would occur when the orb carrier would drop the orb so another player could pick it up, and the orb’s location would disappear from the map? We on Blackgate certainly do. That itself was a source of roughly 20 different threads over the span of 3 days started by SBI players who didn’t understand that what they were seeing was the result of a bug. Something that no player from any side had any control over. SBI and JQ had apparently never had a mesmer hide inside of a base and wait out patrols, so they could portal in a group of people to retake the base, which is a common strategy now, and why base sweeps are considered mandatory.

Every day for weeks, anyone who came to the forums saw multiple threads titled things like “Blackgate hacks again” “Blackgate is a server of cheaters” “Blackgate steals orb” “Blackgate mesmer exploits Bay”. Some of those threads still exist on the forums, if you look far back enough, you can find them.

So, person I’m quoting: Blackgate did not ruin its reputation. Other people did that for us. Most of the folks who tried to talk sense into the mindless masses and present the facts of the situation had their posts reported and removed. I have personally received 17 forum infractions for trying to defend my server. The problem of the entire situation was that nobody bothered to let the facts get in the way of their opinions. I see that you are doing the exact same thing.

Karma always wins in the end. Look at SBI and all of their “forum warriors” now. They’ll be lucky to stay in T2 for more than another week before they drop to T3.

Seriously, I was beginning to think I was the ONLY one who remembers how BG’s last tier 1 match up went down. There was a reason why BG started doing terrible mid week where we lost lead. People stopped playing because of the following situation:

- BG Won = hackers.
- BG Lost = they suck.

So in the eyes of the majority of the guilds what was the point of even trying? Either way they would be scorned and looked down upon on the forums.

Guess what happened? BG comes in third place and the forum warriors come out in full suit to further brag about how they beat “beast gate” so badly, and they were all talk, blah blah. When in reality, majority of our guilds completely stopped playing in order to drop down a tier.

That is in the past though. This thread has grown in maturity since than.

The thing is, JQ has more potential than BG at the moment. With their recent transfers of SF and PRX if those two guilds would make a push against SoS or BG rather than worry about defending and wiping enemy zergs out than JQ would hold top PPT 24/7.

That isn’t to say they shouldn’t defend at all. Just needs to be more agressive during opportunistic times.

I have no doubt in my mind that JQ will be the new #1 server.

I understand they have RG only for this week but they have other guilds that transferred in to fill RG’s queue slots.

Be real now Smokee come on lol, i was on JQ border tonight and wish i had taken screenshots of your “18 man” team. Maybe i was drunk and seeing double, but then again i didnt drink.
We had 15 out and put it this way you had twice as many minimum. Not saying it was all HB, but thats the main tags we saw, and if youre all running together then you cant turn around and say it was 18.

HB is a primarily based EU guild, at the time of his post it is 6AM there! And no he did not just wake up lol. That means majority of the guild logged off a while ago. The ones that were left were trying to transfer from JQ BL to BG BL for the last 30 minutes.

And even then majority of the guild that was on still were waiting for queue pops. It seems a lot of our pugs flock to BG BL, which is a good thing to be honest.

That seemed to me to be the obvious answer to the OP. I’m just surprised it took five replies before someone offered it.

Pretty much this, but hey, sure, go ahead and “fix” it.

Right after they “fix” trebbing Bay from the southwest supply camp.

Trebbing from the supply camp can be counter trebbed from inner bay.

Can you counter treb the easily built and replacable trebs at Garrison? Sure, if you took Longview/Woodhaven and built counter trebs in between that tower and the Garrison. Or you can press your luck by not taking that tower and building the counter treb there anyway. Good luck doing it when the Garrison usually has trebs built specifically to counter treb the trebs at Longview/Woodhaven though. Not to mention the mortars and cata’s that can easily reach your treb location needed.

You see the difference? Every location has an easy counter treb location except that spot. Sometimes it’s almost required that you take Garrison just to take the trebs down, which if you’re in a higher tier server than good luck keeping that Garrison from 40+ man zergs on every side wanting back in.

In fact, the complete opposite will happen. Everyone begins guesting to a dedicated server or two that always has this uncontested.

If paid transfers were implemented right off the bat than you would see HoD at the top still completely dominating T1 with no problem. TA (the alliance that made HoD who they were in it’s prime) was formed BEFORE Guild Wars 2 was even released publicly. TA planned to join HoD as soon as they could. There was no bandwagoning to HoD then.

The three outer quaggan nodes = sends the veteran quaggan to the entrance of bay, garrison, and hills to attack the gate.

The middle quaggan node = creates the weather lightning storm to kill siege everywhere.

Seriously, is it impossible for a post to be something along the lines of “Hey, xxx guild of yyy server, I saw your turtle tactics a few hours ago and thought that it could do with some improvements. Maybe you could add some zzz stuff to your tactics and it’ll go better next time round.” Of course not, we’re all immature brats that can’t even give criticism to another server so that they can improve and thus allow us to have more fun and sustainable matches in the long-run. I don’t know, majority of the recent posts have been exactly that. Giving BG advice or insight on how they perceived the other server to handle situations which helps BG adapt to tier 1 faster.

iCoa did stack a lot, and the tactic didn’t work at all against us SoR. I don’t know why they are still doing that after the healing nerf though.

Especially that last week, the stack (combined with portaling around the enemy zerg) worked wonders on any SOR guild that wasn’t TW.

FEAR seems to be the SOR guild with the best coordination after TW, and we spent the good portion of a day just wiping FEAR.

Just a suggestion for SBI and TC, unless the many SOR guilds aside from TW have their portal stacking counter tactics down pat.

You wiping SoR with stacking? Ahahaha you MUST BE JOKING. I can’t even tell you how many kills [Choo] stacked up against BG when we stacked up. Most of the BG guilds didn’t even know how to use the stack correctly nor counter it!

From what I remember when I was on, Choo was using the stacking technique but against a random group of pugs. I would be impressed if they used it against HB, but I only saw it used against a bunch of pugs from mixed guilds not in the same team speak server or probably on one.

Just FYI, my university’s sports team don’t go in the competition telling people they’re insects we’re going to step on as real winners don’t need smack talk. We show up and we know we dominate. Similarly, how often do you see PRX and WM make videos to show they’re winners? Do not generalize “smack talk” to be universal for all athletes, I find that offensive. Smack talk is a sign of the uneducated and less than classy bunch.

Either way, it doesn’t hurt me as a player. I had a blast today roaming the field killing 40 man zergs with our 20 man zerg. I am here to play and have fun, and that’s exactly what I am doing. It is quite amusing to see players try to demoralize us though xD. One thing is for certain though, there is only one direction the top server can go, and that’s down. Eventually you will fall.

If Kurthos or some other Aoi member, or someone from the SoS community had made such a great video, I would’ve applauded it, so I do not know why people are not giving Smokee props for making a solid inspirational piece for HIS server, and sending a message to JQ and SoS that HB and BG were going to bring it…which they have.
