Seriously.

How about, as a community, you come together with positive suggestions, critical feedback regarding what, specifically, is the issue with the meta at the moment, and what they can do to change it.

The constant bickering and crying and complaining by the players, those players who simply play the game instead of develop the game, needs to end, and although it won’t, you all should at least realize that what you’re doing is wrong and it isn’t helping.

Mostly, what I’m noticing is a bunch of keyboard warriors who don’t know the first thing about programming, those of you who don’t have a job developing a video game, complaining about the rate of changes that they are making.

You don’t know the first thing about developing a game. They are working hard. They play the game after work, too. They know what’s wrong with it. They know what they need to change, they hear you when you say you want X changed.

Lastly, there are several different teams in Anet regarding different kinds of content. PVP development team, Event development team… Just because a patch came out that you don’t like because it’s PVE doesn’t mean they just ignored you and stopped working on PVP. It just means that the PVE team hit their mark, while the PVP team is still working on changes.

They are working on game modes.

They are looking into the lag, which one of the forum mods said they would talk to the team on monday…. today.

They are working on more skills.

They are working on balance.

It took other MMO’s years to balance their game, and yet, no game is perfectly balanced. The meta will change every patch. There will always be a mass influx of one profession in PvP when it gets buffed. That’s the price you have to pay when you can go into Spvp starting from level 1.

You guys don’t know how to develop a game. Give constructive feedback, and chill the kitten out.

Gw2 was pitched to me whilst playing gw1 5 years ago. Pre release it was stated that pvp was developed along side Pve from day 1. We were promise all the things we loved about gw1,but more in gw2…

I admire that you’d like to see the hate levels turned down on forums, But these forums provide information about where the game currently is, and how far it is from the mark as far as its players are concerned. The latest login video of a year in review directly quotes, “….a game based around what players want…” A lot of this is happening in PvE, especially with RnG packs now being sold on TP etc, but in terms of PvP, players want more than constant conquest, tournaments starting where both teams may not even have full slots, paid events where every player can enter, not just those over 18 who happen to live in the right region of the world and the diversity gw1 that with its 2 profession build types. As much as you say, “Not in a day.” there is also the statement, “Chickens coming home to roost.” That’s what we’re seeing here. The chickens are home, and a lot of them ain’t happy with PvP for multiple reasons.

How much is ANET paying you? Stop defending a broken, poorly sustained game. The blatant disregard for pvp was acceptable for a few months. But a year later, with no real changes?

You mention new maps, yet none of the core mechanics that both professional and casual gamers alike have been telling devs through the forums have yet to be implemented.

Most of the pvp world has left this game, and most likely for good.

In fairness, i didn’t take this small statement in response to what i have said as any sort of affront or laden with disdain. I think they was just more appreciative that my response didn’t have kitten every 2nd word. I do still stand by my statement. I think PvE is beyond impressive, and Pvp just doesn’t match up considering they were both developed in parallel with each other. I would happily see 50% of the great moments I’ve had in PvE decreased to increase the great moments in PvP by 50%.

If I had a nickel for every thread there was on constructive changes to this game, I would be a millionaire.

We have 1 game type, after 1 year. This is laughable. I paid $60 for this game, and even if $1 of it went to pvp, I paid something. Other free MMOs or games have all the features we have asked for, and yet require no $ whatsoever. Clearly ANET messed up big time.

It didn’t take years to actually CREATE the game. Balance is one thing, at least GIVE us something to balance

I feel helpless after I shatter :\ Like I can’t do damage. Usually I have at least one phantasm to help, but do you notice this as well? Or are you literally just there for well timed, coordinated bursts with shatter? Sort of like hiding in the shadows until you burst you someone down?

Curious, why the torch?

Why not take phantasms have fury? I guess the phantasms in this build are lackluster at best…

This is just a stealthy shatter build, and I kind of like it. Mass invisibility is a great elite.

This should be called stealth shatter, because you have 3 stealth to use, and I think it really helps the build be less squissy.

I like the stealth theme.

I played blackwater last night, and do not like running around and stealthing all the time letting others kill my clones. This seems to be a a nice middle ground, and I think and have seen in your videos will do just fine in the current environment.

You basically are showing people torch is viable It is a shame we need to take so much stealth to be viable right now though

4, Sword thief evades – L2P, use terrain, LoS and then AoE them down. Could use some fine tuning, but it’s not horrible.

Cain…You understand sword teleport doesn’t use LOS, or terrain right? Watch sensotix video about thieves just pressing a button and teleporting to their targert through objects (henge for example). Or if he is above the thief on a hill, what does that matter? I just press a button and am there instantly. I stopped respecting your comments after you made such a terrible, mistake.

I am lagging in HoTM, YOLOQ, and hotjoin. This is not my internet, and it only started after the patch.

I can’t play, and nobody else is really playing. Even hotjoin is a ghost town, I guess others are experiencing this too?

Solo queue is a nightmare, 99.9% of all my matches are 4v5, afkers, rage quitters. I’m done, good bye community I have lost all hope. And there’s no point of making a team, because team arenas is dead……Heart of the mist is a ghost town. Going back to LoL until pvp in this game gets good.

everything about this game is broken, i can’t even queue with one of my friends in solo queue, or even hotjoin. It is kitten backwards.

What have people been testing on this build? I have tryed Lyssa + rampagers and Undead + rabid ammy.

Not sure which one I like more though.

Sigils on weapons are also tricky. (remove condi on crit? bleed on crit?)

@divinity, I put the undead runes with a rabid ammy for spvp, I also kept the sigils the same, however I changed the corruption on the torch for hydromancy, but this one can be changed to anything really, battle should work well with its 3 stacks of might ^^

did you try lyssa? I like having 65% crit change with a rampagers/rampager jewel and lyssa and proccing bleeds like crazy.

it works great wth vigor on crit too. I was thinking of putting on a “on crit” sigil for bleeds too dunno. Hell even the remove a condition on crit would proc alot. Dunno what to do.

I like the build though! very tanky and people get confused because I am popping in and out all the time

We have SO many build varieties it is insane. I love the purple power. I rolled a guardian a few weeks ago, and did ok with him…but it was so boring! I currently main phantasm and bleed/shatter hybrid

yes, but when I shatter for the daze effect, what does it actually do? I find it to be pointless if they are still able to move. There must be something I am not seeing.

Is it a skill recharge rate or something? It looks pointless to me.

When I hit pistol #5 or sig of dom, they get stunned and do not move.

When people are dazed, they can still move, what exactly does the effect do?

I see these interrupt builds starting to gain popularity, but what exactly does the daze do, how does it shutdown an opponent? Does it make them not able to use skills for x duration?

Well a while ago when we were competing in clanbase we had official referees for each match, if someone would disconnect referee or team would pause the game. If the disconected guy wouldnt log back or the team cant find the substitute, referee would give 3 options; or continue with the match, forfaith or rescadule the match within 2-3 days if this wouldnt help would be auto forfaith and points wolud go to the other team.
Imo if you check the clanbase system its preaty much perfected and fair.

Yeah, but yoloqueue is pretty much comparable to random pubs that have tourna rules. The situation you explained is more fitting to an actual tournament (I don’t mean teamqueue).

still the pause option would be fair for losing a guy due to disconnect. When someone disconnect team should get the option to pause the game for lets say 5 min top.

Agreed, if it’s teamqueue only, but I think 5min is a bit much. No one likes fighting 4v5 (even if you’re the one having 5 it’s still a win that has a bitter taste and feels unfair). Yoloqueue has no competitive value and is just a better alternative to hotjoin and it should be treated as such. Like a practice mode till you can get your own team together.

The change proposed by the op would probably be relatively simple to code.

That being said, it’s an incredibly stupid idea that nobody in their right mind could actually consider implementing.

I thought the same about 99% of GW2 PVP mechanics, but then they actually happened.

s and tpvp is broken, so fix it.

5v5 is the BASIS for a game, let alone the meta, and class imbalance aside, you need to fix the BASE of the pyramid before you go any higher.

1) get off your high horse, GW2 pvp has failed already
2) keep hating, I am right, no matter how much pain it causes you nerds

Programming an entire game isn’t like your C++ homework that only had a few dozen lines of coding.

I am entitled to my opinions because I paid for the game already.

^ or something like that, it is a simple logic statement, you get what I am trying to say

case solved, you don’t need to be a programmer with a fancy degree, this is a logic statement

I can only assume that ANET will do something bad based on history and extrapolating data from the past to give me my data, they have a terrible track record with PVP, why would it change now? A red post on telling us some of what a new patch might look like and asking for critiques?

I don’t need other people telling me my logic statement is wrong, because it actually IS very easy to implement given the resources they have. This is probably the #1 largest complaint in s and t pvp.

Just fix the kitten system.

I know it cannot take that much time to enter a line of code stating the opposing team does not get points or anything if the game becomes a 5v4 or even starts as a 5v4.

% means you’re not in the top 1,000. Based on my friends list it seems that above 81% = top 1,000 for NA. The higher the percent you are the better.

All i see is my name and + or – a % rank gain, but not an actual rank. I can only filter by the % I went up or down. How do you see where you are in the top 1000?

Cuz it’s pvp and ppl want to kill people? Though I agree strait up death match wont work (THAT’S WHAT HOTJOIN IS FOR =D)

A more kill/defend game type would be pretty good something g that feels more like tug of war. Everyone would do their job and killing would be more promoted.

I think it’d be cool to ply something like VIP where the Guy has 30/30/30/30/30 and x2 stats based on amulet =D

Most of the people here are complaining about team pvp because they probably are terrible 1v1 and need a team to hide it. We will see what happens. Diablo 2 had pvp that was free for all and was extremely successful. WoW has had it, both rated and unrated (random ganking, AV, AB, WSG etc.)

2 of the biggest mmos (RPG) in history, need I say more?

We have qq’d and got what we wanted, so just deal with it bro.
