I love using hammer for pve. Only thing that makes it bad is the bosses tend to be immune to cc. If Anet can fix that were cc plays a role again, then hammer will rock.

I came on the forum just to say: THANK YOU, ROBERT GEE! Warrior definitely needed some buffs to compete with so many strong builds coming out from other classes. I hope there still more to come as warriors lack build diversity.

So when will we see these changes take effect? Anyways, keep up the good work, Robert. Let’s continue to fine tune the warrior.

PS: Oh forgot to mention. Hey Robert, can you look into speeding up Rush on greatsword? It’s currently run too slow to be an effective gap closer.

As for rush I think its fine as is. Ranger GS 3 is more buggy than our current rush and theres no point making our poor rush even worse.

Rush do need to be faster, a gs ranger swoop counters both sword AND gs together.
Gs in wvw these days is even more bad. Walking away from rush with swiftness counters rush already.. So yeah it is bad!

Everyone knows rush is bad man. If you use rush to get somewhere while someone with swiftness is running with you from start to finish. They will actually be near you. Which is really sad. Before Rush was faster even without swiftness. Now it feels like you crawl to your target

Hence why I want them to speed up the animation twice as fast and rush would finally be a useful gap closer.

More challenging content. Less professions left outside of the meta. More diversity of builds. More easy to ballance.
25 stacks represent too much % from damage output.

This is the nerf berserker mindset we’ve seen so much of in the past. Nerfing specs and boons won’t make the game more challenging, it will just make it more tedious.

The game won’t get more challenging until until Anet decides to completely overhaul enemy AI and how they react to players.

Exactly, it’s the simple-minded AI that is not challenging. I would like Arena to incorperate smart AI that changes their attacks base on the situation like how players do. I would also like to incorperate multiple bosses at the same time instead of the traditional single boss fight. Imagine if 5 players vs 5 legendary bosses in an arena for the last fight. That would be epic.

I might agree with you about the 5 legendary boss thing but they couldn’t be anywhere near as strong as the typical legendary mobs we see elsewhere in the game.

5 legendary for hardcore mode. 5 champions for normal mode.

Yea they messed up Zhaitan fight big time. I don’t think Arena want to devote any resources to change that. Everybody has already pointed out how lame that fight was. Only thing is we hope Mordermoth will be a good fight. I hope it won’t be a how fast can you dps this big statue before the time runs out type of event. We already got Teq for that. Let’s hope it will be challenging in a different way.

If you can pick 2 things warriors need that will make you happy what would it be?

For me it’s simple:

Greatsword #4 Bladetrail : Increase the range and add a pull from the return attack.

Greatsword’s #5 Rush: Speed up the animation twice as fast and make it a leap attack at the end of the run if the target is in melee range.

News flash: Gw2 doesn’t need to be e-sport to thrive. Spvp is just a bonus. Gw2 offer a lot to many types of player base, esp its pve.

Much better than spvp. Only thing is the content is 3 yrs old. It was great when the game was brand new. The few things that were lame was Zhaitan fight and Fractal.

I used to roam in wvw until I got tired of trying to find a fight. You can roam for hours and not find a 1v1 or 1v2 ( I also enjoy outsnumbered) but most of the time you will encounter a group or a zerg. So now I go to spvp for my 1v1 or 1v2 fix. You get those type of fights right away. WvW used to be fun but sadly it’s has become a place where one side outnumbers the other side and just bulldoze them. If they can ever get the worlds to balance out their population and spread out objectives where zerging is a bad strategy, then wvw would be fun again.

I disagree. I think all profession can use more might. Heck I would love to increase the limit of might to 250 stack seeing how condition limit has been raised. Some players like to believe it’s more challenge if you do less damage but that’s not true, it only means u will waste even more time to kill something. If you are a advocate for less damage and truly believe in what you preach, I say remove your armor and walk the walk. For those of us who enjoy big numbers, I say give me more might!

I said it didn’t make any sense because… how do you pull with a Hammer? I’m aware that games aren’t always the best place for logic. But a pull feels wrong conceptually. Knock down is the next thing which fits.

It still makes sense because you smash the ground so powerful that it bends the fabric of space which pull the enemies toward the hole like how gravity works in Einstein’s theory. A knock down is no different than a stun in normal Earth shaker, we don’t want two of the same. Give us a pull would improve the effectiveness of warriors in group pvp.

I think when we go Berserk, we should get a 50% movement speed increase in combat. The idea of going Berserk is we are basically pumped with full adrenaline and should run very fast.

Also there should not be any delays in primal burst skills. Warriors are the easiest class to read their fight animations why even delay their attacks too?

I would prefer a knock down. A pull doesn’t make any sense.

Pull would work well if it has a good range. Imagine a 900 range pull. Tell ur teammates ur going to pull and they all aoe ur spot. For pve u can kill trash mobs much faster than running around.

However, if we are going to stick with knockbacks I hope it increases the range of the knockbacks to 900 range. That way if I am planing to disperse enemies I want it to be effective.

I agree. Hammer primal burst should pull enemies toward the warrior. Pushing them away doesn’t help the warrior out.

One thing’s for sure – Robert Gee is designing the Warrior elite spec so we’ll know it’s going to be good. He did Necro/Reaper and Mesmer/Chronomancer.

That certainly gives us hope. Hopefully Gee will deliver. I would love to see some new style of fighting for the warrior that isn’t already in other classes.

Rifle. No question. At least make the piercing baseline, that’s all it needs.

I thought of an interesting buff to rifle. I think when channeling Kill Shot, it should trigger a large aoe reveal debuff. This will give Warriors stealth counterplay. And it makes sense with rifle having a scope to see things.

Played since launch. Still enjoy the game. Here are some things I would like that will greatly improve the fun of this game:

1. Add #6 weapon skill to all weapons.

2. Give all profession 1 more utility slot.

3. Every 6 months, allow 1 free transfer.

4. Bag unlocks are shared through all toons.

5. Give WvW better loots and rewards.

6. Introduce Arena mode (2v2) in Spvp.

7. Offer more counter play to stealth mechanics.

9. More armor skins.

10. Introduce secret Legendary Bosses that uses phase based attacks like Lupicus throughout the open world. Players can unlock these instances by completing a quest and challenge these difficult bosses solo. A new armor token is awarded for every time the boss is defeated. Soloing the bosses will reward more tokens than defeating them with a party.

Nah friend, this wasn’t just any mysterious stranger, this was a legend walking that couldn’t just stand back as others pondered events. No they determined that the time was up and told us to lets do this. After a successful life on one side they decided to rekindle their spirit and form new legends with an alternate life style. Stranger, no that was the one true Leeroy “Loralee” Jenkins!

It just happened that you had already wiped all of the foes so LJ just kinda came in and stole your kill.

Her name is Leeroy? I can’t tell what profession she is. I hope she’s not an OP Mesmer because when I find her, her legend will end and mine begins.

The only way to complete the story was to kill her. If you didn’t kill her then you didn’t complete the story which means you haven’t done it at all yet. So you haven’t even found scarlet. When you do find her you will kill her as there is no choice in the matter.

But I did not kill her. The story completed and I met my party at the hub. All along, I thought about how we will face her again in season 3 when she makes a triumph return. Now I realize some Norn woman has did my bidding. Uhhh….

I can assure you, I’m not Sylvari. But I do have a soft spot for plants. Yes, Scarlet did killed thousands and she deserves to die. But early death is too good for her. She must feel the pain of losing a loved one and have her dreams crushed. I wanted her to watch as I destroyed her Lord Mordremoth and his army of thorns. Death meant nothing for Scarlet as long as her purpose was fulfilled. Did you not notice the madness and satisfaction in her face when she died? That’s her soul laughing at all of us. I wanted to spare her life so that I can not only stomp her body but also stomp her soul. Only then will Scarlet feel true defeat.

Warrior has now fallen to lowest tier after the Rampage nerf. It was the only thing keeping Warriors viable in this current Meta. I support this nerf however they should have buff Warriors in others areas so they didn’t need the Rampage in the first place. Hopefully in the next patches we will see warriors get some much needed buffs like making Fast Hand baseline and moving Merciless Hammer back to Master tier. And rework some of the weaker traits.

At the end of last episode of Season one, upon seeing her in down state, I felt pity for her and walked away without killing her. Yes, I chose to spare Scarlet’s life. Everyone deserves a second chance. But that’s not the reason why I spared her life. I actually enjoy her as an adversary. I was hoping one day she will seduce Trahearne into the dark side and turn a comrade into a foe. With his knowledge of the Pact and intelligence, Trahearne would have been a great adversary as well. Now my dreams has been crushed upon seeing the cut scene of Season 1. My crew disobey my orders and stood there as they watch this Norn woman killed off Scarlet Briar. I don’t know who this mysterious Norn woman is, but if I ever run into her she’s gonna taste the wrath of my 100 blade.

Anyways, I felt betrayed. This is not what heroes do. Heroes do not kill off villains so fast. My crew calls me Boss. Now I just want to go Donald-Trump on them: “You’re fired!” (except Taimi).

Revert ALL adrenaline-related nerfs, make warrior sprint and fast hands baseline, add old banner CD and radius trait to healing one, revert warhorn nerf, combine all Tactics minor traits into one, restore SoR signet buffs back to 30s.
This will give some diversity back.

This! I agree with you totally. Also move all weapon-reduction traits to master tier so it doesn’t compete with grand-master traits. And buff/change some of the useless warrior traits to offer more build diversity.

Sometimes when there are no players to fight, I like to solo camps for fun but the loots are terrible. I am not suggesting make WvW into the next money making silverwaste, just make the drops better so at least you can walk away with some decent loot. The mobs at the camp should drop heavy bags like the risens at Orr.

Thieves having so much stealth doesn’t bother me because they actually have to come in to burst you in melee range and while in stealth they are not a threat. However mesmers can burst from range in stealth? Not to mention when they go stealth, they have clones and phastasm doing damage to you? And when you finally lock them down they can teleport or go invulnerable? And they can cc you like crap? And blind you too? Heck they can even just turn you to a Moa and render your class mechanics useless. Why not give mermers high armor and hp while you at it, Anet. It’s ridiculous how much advantage one class has.

Even though Mesmers can do all that, it wouldn’t bother me if they did not have so much access to stealth. Instead of stealth, mesmers should just swap positions with clones.

Please change Axe Mastery?

You should title it “Please move Axe Mastery.” I thought you were suggesting changing how the trait works. Anyways, I agree with you that Axe Mastery should be moved to Master tier so that it has a chance to be pick. I would like to add that Merciless Hammer should also be moved to Master Tier. It just makes sense to have all weapon traits moved to master tier so they don’t compete against grandmaster traits.

Use the skullcrack build against him. Use the shield and mace to block his burst. Then when at max adrenaline, do shield bash, skullcrack, swap weapon to greatsword 100blade. If you get him to low hp, pop Rampage and finish him. Good luck!

Sometimes also help to watch videos of good players playing a warrior u can see how they fight other classes.

I missed that trait. It was my main source for swiftness. I suggest removing Thick Skin and replace it with Furious Speed. Or combine that trait with some other adept trait like cull of the weak or dogged march.

I originally started in ET. Back then you need WvW map to get world map completion so I had to transfer out just to complete my map since ET has no WvW community. Now I would love to transfer back to ET and help out. But the transfer fee is just way too expensive. Hopefully there will be free transfer for those going to lower tiers.

I agree with OP’s suggestions. PvP needs a better system to match players against players of similar skill level. Heck, Practice mode should be new players vs smart AI. So newbies can have a chance to understand the game and their class before they face real competent players. I also like the random arenas system. The only thing OP hasn’t mention that I would like is to seperate different sPVP modes. I think sPVP should have 3 game modes: 1. Conquest 2. Stronghold 3. Deathmatch (2v2).

Merciless Hammer shouldn't be grandmaster.

No TY, having it compete with Brawler’s Recovery and Destruction of the Empowered, terrible idea.

And you can pretty much throw out the idea of what is an Adept, Master and a Grandmaster out the window. Once you select a trait line you are locked into the entire trait line. All that matters are the traits that compete with each other in their respective lines.

I’d rather have Merciless Hammer compete with Heightened Focus and Burst Mastery than DoTE or BR.

Absolutely correct. Traits as we know them are gone now that we have the new system. Besides, Brawler’s Recovery is really important for condition cleansing/survival.

In that case, just swap Merciless Hammer with Brawlers recovery. We both get what we want. I get Merciless Hammer with Burst Mastery, you still get Merciless Hammer with Brawler’s Recovery.

I would like the option to make it custom # of character slots shown. For those players who like to have many slots shown, they can increase the number and for those like me who want to reduce it down to 1 toon shown. I would like that option.
