If I occasionally find myself in over my head I train mobs onto other players, and then play my part in killing them. I’m not sure if its bad etiquette but its my first instinct

I don’t miss the to do list. I do occasionally miss the sense of completion of emptying your quest log

I am. Already have 8 chars made, most are low levels but im working on them nonetheless.

Personally I’d like to see the meteorologicus get some love, particularly when wielded by eles. It was clearly made for us and IMHO there’s a lot they could do with it + attunements, which I would be happy to see.

Excuse me, but those skill points are really really vital for much of the game

No seriously, it’s cool bro. This game isn’t for everyone, and I’m always happy to see people say they’re leaving, because it means the community becomes more and more of people that are into the game. Have fun, maybe visit evey now and then.

It honestly shouldn’t affect how your dailies get done, but I’m too tired to prove that right now. But FYI, the servers never reset at 8 EST. They did/do reset at 7 EST and 8 EDT. Just saying [S(tandard)/D(aylight)]

They are currently working more on creating code to auto detect and remove bots. Just thought you should know.

10 sq miles is a lot my friend, Skyrim is only 25sq miles and its certainly much much larger than 3 cursed shores

Another summary of the counter arguments: the game has been out for two months, the majority of the player base is fairly high leveled. There is plenty of content that people of any level can do, including MKL, MKCT, LI, RR, AM, and doors. Things that require a specific level OR HELP FROM A GENERALLY WILLING PLAYERBASE: Book. A handful of people are complaining about not being able to do stuff period, most are complaining about not being able to do it on their alts. The former is a reality of having not put much time into the game as of yet. The latter is entitlement. The reason components drop is the same reason there are dungeon tokens, so you are able to makes progress towards your goal no matter what. The reason players are scaled up rather than down is because look at what happens when 80s go to starter zones. And in regards to GW1. Style of event is a matter of preference, however content being soft gated by level is infinitely better than content being hard gated by campaign progression, especially when there are multiple campaigns and many players don’t do all of them on every character.

This is the same idea as the inevitable thread that comes after every update: “Mystic Forge nerf?!?!?!?!” RNG is RNG. Enough people play the game that SOMEONE will get lucky or unlucky, assume everyone is experiencing the same, and post a complaint. Now I’m not saying they shouldn’t. We do need to confirm after all that it is an isolated incident. However phrasing it as an attack on the game and refusing to believe other people’s accounts is unreasonable. It happens way too often. (If you don’t believe me look through the forums for mystic forge nerf and check the dates of the original posts)

To all complaining about the friendliness of GW1 to low levels versus this. I’d say this is way more so. Half of the quest content in GW1 was in nightfall in areas like vabbi and the desolation. Totally unreachable for lowbies. Another major potion was clearing the UW. Impossible if you weren’t a rather skilled player who had the gstones to prove it. Remember that guys? Gstones barring content? Yeah GW1 was perfectly friendly to casual players.

Just rember, it’s an elite jumping puzzle. It’s not meant for everyone to get it. But if you slow your brain down, and be careful, you’ll get it. Oh. And if possible play an ele with 10 points in air for the two IMS traits. They help a lot.

Its their FIRST major update. They’ve never had to do anything like this with the current engine. Give them the time they need to make sure its done right. You waited 5 years, you can afford another 5 hours for the same standards

I like comparing the quantity of impatience for this update, versus the quantity of gratitude when the game launched 3 full hours early :P

When requesting that the Anet staff use a timezone other than Pacific please remember:
They have families. And Beds. And friends. I’m not saying their job isn’t important, but they aren’t firemen who spend 3 day shifts in the office. They push updates live at a time that they can. The end of their workday makes a lot of sense for several reasons.
1. They can spend all day working on it to make sure its absolutely 100% polished to their standards.
2. They can go home and play it
Those are the big ones I can think of off the top of my head. Remember, its their game too, they aren’t intentionally screwing over anyone

I they kill festival bugs faster its only because they don’t have to make sure it’s not causing any long term damage. If it does they simply revert the changes after festival. Profession bugs have root issues that can cause major problems if fixed poorly

It’s working as intended but there are plans to give guilds that transfer some kind of benefit for what they lost

The detect distance is slightly smaller than the view I get at my zoom setting for the mini map. I often have nodes “disappear” when I go to mine one. If you walk back towards whet it was it will show up again.

I’d suggest going for level 79 gear until you have your full exotics that’s what I did to save on the stones

First time I pulled up the old login screen. It changed from this vague concept to omg great. Then playing my human ele in beta was jut epic.

During a separate beta event, I was wandering around wayfarer when I found myself in over my head against a few Minotaur. I was about to go down when out of nowhere a purple beam starts blasting them right along with me. Being rescued in the middle of nowhere was unexpected and amazing

Lukejoe. Gayle is forbidden so that people don’t try to impersonate developers since Gaile Gray is one of the more well known names. Colin and Johanson are probably banned for the same reason.

Right after you wake up as a sylvari there’s a “one does not simply” line. I forget what it is specifacially but it has to do with dragon fighting

Anet stated that they will be doing expansions very different than gw1. While it was good, it was unsustainable and took way too much time. There will be level cap increases. There will not be new tutorial content. The effort required to create new tutorial contet wastes too much of the development cycle. Raising the level cap allows easier balancing of new content for higher difficulty

All it means is you have to take armor off before transmuting it. It’s to solve a bug that caused you to appear naked

On a separate note I wish there was a button to deny rezzes. Can’t tell you how frequently I’ve died, gone to get some water or something, and come back to find all my armor broken from repeated rezzes

You guys do realize that these weapons have all kinds of crazy effects right? I’d say the Juggernaut puts Twilight to shame. That one covers your entire body in quicksilver.

I agree with the idea that world completion should be removed from wvw. I disagree with almost all of the reasons why it should be removed. 100% means 100%. It’s an achievement, last I checked you can’t get the slayer achievement in PvE either. 100% a WvW map is not actually hard btw. HOWEVER. By making it count for 100% it brings people into WvW for the purpose of exploring, not WvWing. I have frequently found myself running to our next target, glancing at my map and saying “oooh we own _. Don’t know when that will happen again, best grab it now.” And my brother has gone to WvW exclusively for world completion. Both of those take up valuable slots for true WvWers

I have a strong suspicion that architecture will flesh out with the addition of guild halls.

I’d like to point out they said they’re improving the end rewards significantly and that everyone who’s already completed it will be able to get the better rewards

The weapon skins do add condition damage, fire, ice etc…

To my knowledge there’s no actual types of damage in this game and those [fire] tags etc are there simply for the memories.

People who ask for the HoM rewards without playing guild wars 1 are like people who ask for the platinum frequent flyer membership for flying 2 times a year. Just saying

This build is great for soloing and team play, the trick is to rethink the use of dodge. By dodging into combat, specifically, your combo fields you essentially get an extra skill, bringing down foes faster, using your own combos (something staff eles struggle with) and even healing yourself. The utilities provide excellent single target damage and are great for boss control

Didn’t actually read anything here in order to avoid spoilers, but I do want to say that while I initially was hesitant in my acceptance of Trahearne, he did something in the level 55 quest that changed that and made him my absolute favorite character.

He rezzed me.

After watching every other character who I loved, from Zojja to Sparkles to Tybalt stand over my dead body and stare, Trahearne said “no guys, this is what we do.” At that moment I knew that Trahearne would forever more be my favorite character. Anyway that’s my piece. Have fun!

He is a player lol. Commander is a leadership role that can be purchased. I’m not very good at explaining things but if you look it up on the wiki that will do a great job.

How exactly are they supposed to “fix” Queuing times? They are constantly working towards upgrading server capacity through backend updates, but really, short of that there isn’t exactly anything they can do.

Or get 9 character slots. Use one of them as a delete able story guy. That’s why I have 13. Well mostly because I’m a victim of the horrible Extra Character Slots Bug in which buying slots have you several extra
