I consider myself a long term trader and I make predictions and trades based on what I feel an item is going to do in the coming months. It takes a lot less of my time and can still turn a huge profit.
For example with everyone farming southsun instead of cursed shore – dust production has plummeted. Predicting this I made a handy profit as soon as the panic buying happened. Same thing with Rosemary Sprig, which has gone up 600%. There are little gems in the market like this everywhere and correctly predicting where the price will go can make a handy profit.
I do thank you for holding the price of bags higher, often I don’t want to take the time or risk opening them (silk again!) and just might sell them on the trading post for some immediate coin.
And yes what you arn’t doing is flipping because you are adding value.

Dust should be the cheapest T6 material by far, based on its uses in game.
You need dust to convert T5 mats and cores. However, what is most personally bothersome to me is that crafting sharpening stones/artificer crystals or potions is just no longer an option.
I would like to make consumables for myself and friends, but the prices on dust mean that it is no longer feasible.
I remember when I used to constantly have both food and potions up… it’s sad that those days are long over.
They are selling for around 11 silver right now. The materials needed as I’m sure you know are 1 pile of crystaline dust, and 1 orichalcum ingot. The dust can still be farmed instead of bought, it simply isn’t being done as much now because of the event + slowed spawn times of camps. If you farm the ori and the dust each craft makes 5 stones. For 1 dust + 2 ori ores you make 5 Superior Sharpening Stones worth 11 silver each, 55 silver total. Dust now is about 39/40 silver. If you bought one, which would be a terrible idea to make profit at any time during the game, it would cost say 40 silver. 2 Ori ores is around 8 silver, that’s 48 silver total if you foolishly buy all the mats to craft.
So again, it would cost 48 silver to make 5 stones, you sell for 55 silver. It isn’t a great deal either way, but I’m not seeing it as being impossible. But the rule of thumb is to farm mats yourself for crafts, and not to buy them.

Uh farming the mats yourself is similar to just buying the mat. It isn’t foolish to buy mats for crafting.
It amazes me how people ignore opportunity cost in gw2.
So for example if dust was 1g, you would consider it ok to make sharpening stones that sold for 11s each as long as you farmed the dust yourself?
Remember that buyers don’t pay TP tax, only sellers do. So if you buy dust at 48 silver added 2 ori orr and made your sharpening stones you are saving money over the current TP price. However because of the 15% TP tax there is a very small margin to make a profit buying and crafting the item for sale. Meaning that if you were farming dust, you are better off just selling the dust instead of crafting it for stones. But you are totally ok buying dust to craft it for stones you are going to use.

You should never do pure support, you should always participate in the fight.
I agree, but if this is true, so also the full dps builds shall be forced to get some support abilities.
In fact this does not happens.
I have a dps-thief, wearing Berserker’s gear wich has Zero support skills, and helps party members in no ways. But, he deals tons of damage.
On the other hand I use a supportive Warrior in Cleric’s gear. During the combat I jump among the combat area planting banners, converting conditions and ressing downed players. If I find time to deal damage, I deal a so low amount of that, that I’m barely able to get the kill. I need at least 2-3 hits to get the kill.
The result is: pressing basic attack mindlessly with my Thief I get many bags of loot and Badges
Istead, I get minimal amount of bags and Badges with my Warrior. I made the same job. The DpSes of my party are alive also because of my support.
But the system only rewards my full-dps, not my full-support.I think anyone should be able to play as he wants. This is one of the main targets of Guild Wars 2 right?
Equip bow, throw fire field and blast finish for might stacks between ressing and when your wh is on cd, and you can hit people with it.
The full berserker spec does have self support skills, they have to bring them. Just like they do contribute to their own survival you should contribute in some level to doing damage to the enemy.

Doing dedicated support is like cutting your right arm off and complaining you are less effective than someone with two arms.
You should never do pure support, you should always participate in the fight. There are times when your support abilities are on cooldown you need to be doing something that window to maximize your impact on the battlefield.

Or use your wolf to fear them off of the res because your a ranger and rangers have that option.
Also after the first down, the second down cannot be ressed faster than a stomp without using a res utility.

ok for your first one, keep in mind I did this months ago, Server B if they did that would be at a disadvantage, they would catch up in score but not surpass server A. I would estimate without running it yet they would get 40% of server A’s score (assuming server C is consistent).
second question – the end of the matchup is potentially worth more as their is the potential for more bonus points to be available. This may or may not be true however depending on where the cache’s of bonus points are. For example if all keeps changed hands on Wednesday, by reset there wouldn’t be as many bonus points available. This has to be true to allow less lame duck situations. While Thurs right before reset can be worth more than Thurs Morning, Thursday morning can take a lot of the available points off the map. Don’t know if explained that well.

They need to do some recoding on the engine to restrict it to a single widescreen resolution. Allow displaying of the side screens but restrict the game from allowing you to use them to target. The most anet should allow is 16:9 ratio screens for targeting.
This would cover the resizing issue as only a 16:9 ratio area will be useable for targeting.
It probably would be really tricky to implement but would catchall on the resizing issue. It would not resolve the ‘zoom hack’ issue.

I think in answered this somewhere, but sitting out is not an option if you want to get points or hold onto them.
Remember if you are ahead in the matchup and you have significant holdings not defending them is going to give huge bonus points to competing servers. And as long as the other TWO servers participate you sitting out intentionally only hurts your server.
The other side of the coin is the current system already guarantees winners, while the bonus points system alleviates that a little bit it isn’t going to allow a server to make up a 100k point deficit regardless. The system doesn’t try to make servers with larger populations disadvantaged but attempts to bring the total scoring closer together and make coverage gaps less important.

Then that could punish people who cant finish Repair X daily (your on a server that has no opposition in your timezone) and Capture tower daily in their timezone (for example you’re on vabbi).
By requiring just 1 it allows people who play the game casually to complete the requirement, participate in one major fight or go behind enemy lines and kill a few yaks or capture a few supply camps or whatever the daily options are.
The system needs to be fair for all servers, that’s includes servers in matchups where they are camped or camping for most of the day.

The overall idea is good, but why would I want to give pve players that doesnt give a single kitten about wvw a free reward chest for my work? They already got the unfair buffs.
There should something else in additions, lets say you get personal points for capturing objectives, like 3 points for keep, 2 for tower, 1 for camp, 1 for sentry etc. and when you reach 100 points you are able to collect a chest at the end of matchup.
100 points seems a little steep for players that might play gw2 for only an hour or two a day. If you are up against a tough opponent or doing jobs like scouting you will probably not get 100 points under your system.
Do you think doing a WvW daily on 3 separate days for the gold level reward is too shallow a requirement?

- get connected with your servers wvw community, getting the community website for your server and joining it will open a lot of information to you on how that server plays wvw.
many servers have free teamspeak or free mumble servers setup so you can join them and listen to commanders on the map.

Why not just RNG reward a server, because that is pretty much all the OP is suggesting. If you get a good roll on the RNG matchup system you gain points, if you do not, you lose points.
The issue overall is thakittens all about population and coverage and any reward system you use will eventually just be about rewarding coverage and population. Fix the underlying problem, then worry about rewards.
It seems random now because the rating system hasn’t yet caught up with the freed up system. In short ratings are really inaccurate right now it should be more correct in the coming weeks.

Its already handicapped. The rating system anyway. Servers need to start playing to improve their rating, not win the weekly matchup in overall points. If you do that even when you are horribly outmatched you can still win.
Anet needs to represent a servers rating and potential rating change in the actual WvW game interface.

I covered requirements in the OP. My idea is to base it off of completing at least one of the three wvw dailies at least 3 times during the matchup week. This allows anet to expand on current systems and as they add more wvw dailies allow people to participate in more ways. If you only complete 1 wvw daily on 1 day you get bronze, if you complete a wvw daily on 2 separate days you get silver, if you do more you get gold. If you did nothing you get nothing.
If your suggesting the system should be another layer of requirements instead of using existing requirements – what about servers that might not be able to capture a tower during the primetime of certain timezones? for example vabbi or during oceanic hours when your fighting dragonbrand.
The following wvw daily achievements can be completed even when your server is horribly outmanned
WvW Player kills (if your being spawn camped it isn’t terribly difficult to pull enemies in range of legendary guards – or catch people 1 on 1 away from your spawnpoint)
Dolyak kills
Sentry captures
Camp captures (if you know what your doing or slip by in parties of 2 or greater you may need 3 people for upgraded camps. )
Veteran kills

The winning based on rating instead of overall server score attempts to get around stacked servers from abusing the reward system. The more stacked a server the higher the rating of that server will climb making it harder if not impossible to keep a positive rating flow.
Also I think improving ones server rating is a much more achievable goal especially when matchups are uneven like SoS having to go against TC. And it will be fair for servers like vabbi that are on the absolute bottom.

You can reply to the email sent to you by the support team to respond to the ticket if you forgot your support login information. Keep in mind account restoration process takes more time to resolve than the normal turnaround sometimes as it involves additional verification. If it hasn’t been at least replied to within 3 days make a post in the tickets for review thread at the top with that incident ID.

You can recover your account id by adding a character on your previous account to your friends list. When identifying your previous hacked account with support you can use character names on the account if you forgot other account details. Support may confirm billing information with you to make sure you are the proper owner (billing street address, city, state, zip, name on card, type of card, last 4 digits of card # etc).
That should show you the number that goes with your previous account.
Also you need to contact your email hosting provider to get your email account access restored asap. This is probably more important than restoring your game account if you use your email address for other personal activities. After that is done you should have access to your game serial number for that account. Once you get your original game account restored through anets customer support you can request a refund on the second guild wars 2 account you purchased to get your money back. Keep in mind this second account will be closed permanently after the refund is issued.

The 10-20 silver is guaranteed not to decrease in value. The rare price has been slowly falling with few exceptions. There are a huge number of rares worth less than 20 silver right now.

When did I say I felt that legendaries were required? I am not pursuing one nor have any interest in one, but the fact remains that it takes you 2 hours in Orr to get 1 Crystalline dust because of the DR blockers and overall nerf to drops. That’s not fun. That’s a pointless grind.
The only possible reason you need a lot of dust is you are after a cosmetic item.
Crafted Exotic level 80 armor do not require dust.
Crafted Exotic level 80 Weapons do not require dust.
Ascended accessories do not require dust (with some exception, but you can substitute for an item that does not require dust).
By definition cosmetic items are not required. And were intentionally put in there by anet to give people who like grind, or working towards goals over a long period of time something to aim for.
The dust price is fueled by extremely high demand for these cosmetic items with nerfed supply rates, but by no means do you need t6 dust to play the game at a high level.

A lot of people over the course of several months have been asking over and over – where is the reward for winning WvW?
The problem is they had no real suggestion that could be implemented that just didn’t favor the #1 seed in teir 1 or ‘stuck’ servers. Causing more people to transfer to that server – making the reward unfair.
But now we have the new ranking system and with that we have the possibility for the first time of a weekly reward.
But what should this reward be based off of? What is winning? To me Rating is winning. Once the rankings settle down I think the best thing to do is base it on your servers ability to increase its rating.
An increase in rating = a win for your server and everyone in your server is rewarded. A decrease in rating = a loss. This way the #1 server in the #1 tier isn’t held at a higher reward rate than any other server. If your server performs better than its rating indicates you get a reward, if it performs worse, you get nothing (or a consolation prize like +wxp). Over time you will get a reward for 50% of your matches, and even in matches where you are heavily outgunned you can still increase your servers rating for that reward – but you gotta play.
Anet can use a daily WvW achievements to track if you are eligible for the reward, If you manage to complete at least 1 WvW achievements in 3 out of the 7 days in the week then you get the gold level, silver for 2, and bronze for 1. If you do not participate in WvW you are not rewarded.

2 Guild Commendation (if member of a guild with AoW V or better)
2 Rare or better
2 superior siege BP’s
50 silver
an account bound item that can be turned in for +5000 WXP

Issues that need to be resolved before system is implemented:
Server rating and projected rating change need to be implemented in the WvW User Interface
Ratings need to stabilize under the new random matching system – will probably take 4 weeks of matchups to get close.
Transfers are an issue, so players should be ineligible for rewards from the current and next matchup much like wvw bonuses if they transfer servers.
One side effect is it might change peoples outlook on wvw, instead of just playing to ‘win’ the matchup servers will be trying to beat their rating, which is a much more competitive and achievable goal than trying to get the most points out of all 3 servers. That means servers that get matched up will be able to win rating, and due to participation requirements for the rewards should see them fight harder against overpopulated servers giving those servers more conflict. Once servers reach equilibrium they should win and lose rating roughly equally – meaning everyone from t1 to t8 (or t9) is going to over time get the same amount of rewards as long as they are actively participating in wvw. With this reward system your servers population isn’t the prime factor in determining if you will be getting the wvw reward or the consolidation prize.
TLDR
Your server gains rating, you WIN, and you get rewarded
Your server loses rating, you LOSE, and you get a consolation prize
over time servers will even out at a 50/50 win/loss rate, as your server rating increase it becomes more likely for your server to lose, and as you lose it becomes more likely you will win rating.

To ppl saying “Have to not be minumun drop rare rarity for economy of rares/ectos”: there’s something like wordl PvE Meta events, which works exactely like that.
You can do those daily, for guaranteed drop, even more than once for chance of more loot.
There are 20ish of those.
So with some time and patience every player can potentially get 20+rares at day.Don’t tell me that making the same to wvwers would crush the economy.
You don’t get 10-20 silver from those events.
More often than not your giving up 2.4-3.2 silver in waypoint fees. Unless you walk to it, which takes muuuch longer.

I quit farming the day I noticed I was only getting one tier 6 mat per 2 hours. It seems like Anet is trying to make people play the game longer by stretching the time required to get the mats. Until the drop rates for tier 6 mats are raised, I’ll play some Mario or Zelda…. maybe even some WoW where I don’t have to forsake my friends and family for the pursuit of an endless torment of farming.

Why do you feel that a legendary is required content?
Anet has said time and time again that going for a legendary which is not a required game item will take a lot of TIME.
If you are going for a legendary and not grinding to do it – it will take you a long time and that is completely intended. I bet you already have BIS gear for your character but you are confused by what anet ment in their manifesto. (and while legendary is BIS it is the same in stats as any exotic level 80 weapon)
If you are choosing, read choosing to grind you are trying to achieve that legendary in less time than someone would naturally get the resources for it regularly playing the game. It is again YOU that is choosing to grind for the legendary because you want it now. Legendary weapons were intended to take 6+ months of play to get. If you are getting it in less than that you are grinding for it – and that’s ok.

people ITT confusing sell orders with supply.
Sell orders is not supply. A large number of transactions happen daily on the buy order side and the inbetween.
Also I would say its virtually impossible to buy all the dust, and really stupid to attempt to do so. Remember as you buy people will notice the price spiking and add more sell orders – at higher prices. So you might drive the price up but you wont be able to buy all the dust on the market.

They were social with us until WM left the server (and burned RE by suddenly shutting off public teamspeak and not refunding donations), then they went in isolation mode. I doubt they will be in isolation when they switch servers.
