With AB they can just remove the event altogether, and leave the golden city free and clear of baddies. Sure, it will kill the map, but it’s not like it would be the only empty map in game.

So we raided Saturday, and like code we got VG down to 14% most of the time. This may be just what it is, but regardless of what happens with VG & our guild I want to thank everyone for all the great advice. If nothing else it has helped my own DPS & experience greatly.

In wvw, you can use any weapon and just hit 1. If you die, their blob was bigger.

So we get VG to split (for us at usually 6:35 or so), is that our problem? Are we losing too much dps early? I’ve always thought it was P3 & later…

Gear doesn’t even matter anymore in blob vs blob.

Well proto what can you do? We are what we are, a casual guild that has attempted the raids as best we can. I would rather fail with these people, than pug into a group that rinses and repeats the VG regularly.

It’s a choice we made long ago to stick it out & see what happens, for better or worse.

Too much noise, half the time I run through the Grove, I end up checking under my desk for crickets and close the windows because of those kitten ed birds!

For those of us that have a legendary UW weapon, which might as well be t*** on a bull, do we get a refund if Steve hops on land?

They need to shake things up. Next expansion should be a musical, lots of singing, dancing. But…tasteful stuff, then the next class can be Bard, and maybe we can end this epic with a tropical serenade to DSD, while Krackle corpse glitters in the background.

A Rytlock-focused episode would be awesome, though at this point it’s hard to imagine how it’d tie in with the dragons we’re fighting.

So at P1, I drop my banners, dodge and immediately hit Head Butt, burst, and then 100b up to another burst, dodge & AA. Is there something else I should be trying to sneak in?

war dps is alrdy pathetically low. I’ve stress this many times and I hate this fact.

I agree nagr, war dps being lower than a casters is laughable. Do you think the Hulk’s dps is lower than Scarlet Witch’s?

Well it is our guild, so we had to form a team from ten willing people with a few subs.

Our team comp is 2 PS, 1 Mes, 2 Druids (condi), 1 Engi, 1 Thief, 2 Guards (1 dps, 1 is our tank), and our healer is an ele. Some of the team comp changes but we always have 2 PS, 1 Mes, the healer and the tank.

So it is still a mechanics issue, as we still get ported a half dozen times before he enrages. Also I would say we haven’t discovered a great solution to seeker clears.

So let me add, I play Warrior, and I can only concentrate on my own DPS.

One question for any Warriors on here, in Stage 1 when we have pinned near the speed mushroom should I at any point use Bladetrail? I’m thinking no, but well I’m obviousily not sure. Also, someone explain to me what good the banners do after the split when we’re pulling him in a circle. Somehow chaos always ensues, so even the best laid plans (banners) are probably being missed by our party.

As the title suggests my guild is getting closer to finally defeating this thorn of a boss. Our roster is filled with mostly casuals, who have been raiding for the last six months or so. A few weeks back each of our 10 man team finished getting geared, and I believe we have the mechanics down, with that said for the past couple of weeks we have been consistently getting VG down to 14-18%.

We are not perfect by any means, some of us still get ported here and there by green circles, sooo my question is, do we have to be perfect? Is one green circle going to screw us? Or is it a case of polishing our DPS now?

I gain fun from listening to the wounded old lady they thrust into the sound room to voice Glint.

Wait…that’s not fun at all. Well it’s still fun pulling Shiro fresh from the angry shower he took after eating a metric ton of Ramens off of his harem of K-pop girls.

Why does anyone think there will be more elite specs? For every new class they release (i.e. the Rev) they would have to add another spec line to that said class. The next class whatever it might be, would then drop with what…7 trait lines?

I’m not buying it. Anet doesn’t want to work that hard.

(Call me a pessimist, as I have also given up on the Tengu. Still love the game though.)

At the end of the last chapter I thought there was a small chance that the Mursaat have changed their ways (like the Charr) and might (smaller chance) become the next playable race. The obvious choice from the vanilla game (the Tengu) seems further & further away with each expansion.

It gets me leaning towards the stone dwarves making a comeback.

So I do not care if HoT stacks up, they both still lack. HoT should be compared to Factions or BC or any other ‘first’ expansion. When compared to any of those its hard to argue in its defense.
It’s easy to argue in its defense: I like HoT, it’s fun for me, there’s plenty of stuff to do, new stuff to try, new skins, & IMO, extends the life of GW2 just as well (if not better) as any add-ons to GW1 did for it.
In the end, no one really cares whether the add-on is an expansion, DLC or what. No one cares if there are 80 new zones or 1, 50 new profs or 5. All any of us really care about is whether it’s fun.
If you’re not enjoying the new content, there are no arguments that will change that for you. Maybe you liked the core game and the add-on didn’t extend it enough for you. Maybe you disliked the core game and the add-on didn’t make enough changes. Maybe you had 20 things on your wish list and the add-on only added one, so none of the other new things really matter (to you)
And of course, the same thing happened to GW1 with the introduction of Factions, of Nightfall, and EotN. Some people hated the gating (Prophecies allows you to do most missions out of order; it’s hard to get around in the other versions without doing so). Some people hated the addition of heroes or PvE skills. Some bemoaned the explosion of low-quality skills.
tl;dr when discussing personal opinions, there aren’t any “objective” ways to compare add-ons for MMOs (or really any game).

I agree with everything Na, but with GW1 I didn’t have this sense of deflation from the game until EotN. With GW2 it came with their first expansion. Left feeling a bit betrayed being with the game so long.

You ask this question confident there will be more.

I however, remain skeptical of all claims, like six wings for the raid…

Thge whole problem with this comparison is EotN was poor as well. Compared to what came before it, Eye was lackluster at best, and we would find out months later that the devs heart was already set on GW2.

Just start a straw poll to players satisfaction with A: Core Tyria and B: HoT. What is the acceptable discrepancy between an MMO and the first ‘expansion’? 20% tops?

I wonder also what the other big MMOs satisfaction difference was.

I will say this, I didn’t have this bitterness while playing Factions, or Burning Crusade to list a competitor.

Let’s talk six months from now on how HoT is viewed. When LS 3 bores and only one other wing of the raid has dropped.

Any MMO expac should be judged on whether or not it can carry the population until the next expansion.

Does anyone think HoT can do that? Seriously?
