Because IT IS an MMO. You don’t play an RTS if you don’t like strategy do you? The heart of this game, and all MMOs is playing well with others.

In fact I would argue the complete opposite, that for HoT to truly shine, it will be through larger group content. GW1 had 8 man dungeons, and I would argue for 12 mans as well.

It is called GUILD Wars after all. Find one and stick

Well, now that I have brushed up my lore of the Maguuma region, and with all these whispers of the Mursaat. I wonder if Anet has the daring to make them the next playable race? Then save the Tengu for the Cantha expac.

Agreed, guild halls have to be a major player for this expac to stick. But any player that doesn’t delve into every aspect of this game is missing out. Our group is eager to play the new WvW maps, and PvP is always fun.

Are the current dungeons we have all that entertaining now?

I wonder how big can it really be? They are building each map in three tiers, so that we won’t get a huge zone area-wise, and well with no new race(s), I see this being more Eye of the North than Factions.

All that is fine if we can get a true expac next summer.

You’ll get some insight into plot fluff but you should be able to more than enjoy the story of GW2. Plot devices like the sword Rytlock carries can be fleshed out better though, but I’d suggest reading the three books they have written, at least Edge of Destiny.

It shows Orr connected to Elona. Is Elona really that close? If so I’m confused as to why ANet is sending us in the complete opposite direction

Your reasoning of the Largo/Bubbles compatibility is sound, but wouldn’t that stick with the Quaggan as well? I think Quaggan would be a front runner between the two.

However, I believe Anet does care about their baby, no matter what the forums say, and with that in mind I think whatever race they provide us with, it will be one that stretches back to GW1 (i.e Centaur or Tengu).

I do not believe I ever saw a Largo in the original title.

Strong chance Eir is dead after watching the cinematic. Couple her fall with Braham grabbing her bow, gives us the lore to introduce Braham as the first Dragonhunter.

Agreed, lore wise Caithe will plant a new tree before this one dies.

Fought him on warrior and the first time around could not hurt him. Ranged with bow the second time and we burnt him down.

Make sure the fire Braham gives you is not lost under the dragon. It’s not bugged, just quirky.

Another story line they could pursue is Rytlock, our first Revenant coming to the aid of the human queen as we retreat from the dragon’s onslaught.

I may be in the minority here, but I am against there being only five races. Don’t get me started on HoT not having the Tengu either. Incorporating GW1 lore, the birds and the Centaurs easily could have been added into the game.

The more choices we have, even if they are cosmetic only, the more variety our world has.

You have staff, scepter and focus already. Would you prefer sniper rifle to be further away?

Besides we have no idea if sword will be all melee, or how it synergizes with off-hands.

The Op’s Asuran-fetish is concerning. If he drives a van in RL he/she should be arrested on sight.

The Ventari legend form yet to be revealed will obviously be Ranger specced.

Since we are all ‘dragon hunters’, just call it what you want. it will be shortened to DH anyways.

Shouldn’t Anet be showcasing mainhand mace on the Rev? It seems to be the most underwhelming weapon to date. It’s fantastic as an off hand for War, but how many of us stray from the GS?

It seems a perfect fit to make the mace shine, unless one of the other classes gets it as their elite.

My guild is on Maguuma, and I recently transferred from Blackgate to it. A kitten t? shift, because the tiers are simple posturing to me. But what I did notice is almost every server had a high population. Right now only the lifers are on WvW, and until there is more news on the xpac it will stay this way. We all have enough on our server they just aren’t playing until Anet drops HoT

Warriors are getting main hand pistol, (what other weapon makes sense? shortbow?), so their spec will go along with that theme.

ANet fooled us with that Commando theme early in the beta for this game, maybe it gets finally realized.

I have eight 80s, one for each class. Warrior was my first with me putting over a thousand hours on it. After recently coming back to the game and pouring my soul back into each class, I find warrior to be a touch bland, really middle of the pack, but to say you hate warrior is just a blind statement.
Every class has its worth, just go out there and find it. Anyone mentions the meta I stop listening.

We all run the same two builds for each class, the least they could do is let us paint every inch of our characters.

Does any other shout cause damage?

ANet knows this and will change this before HOT drops. If it stays the same and there is a cast time, I will say their damage will be increased.

I think ANet fully understands that this class is by far the least played in the game. And so they are giving us an elite that is so cosmetically super cool that we forget it still does not equate to the other classes in major areas of the game. So I will assume the choice will be ANets, and not ours.

The metagame is important to who? For those of us that enjoy playing a game and not punching the clock, the class is pure fun. It can be specced for straight power, massive bleeds, chills, or a mobile zoo. If you’re bringing math into the subject, then that’s where you lose me. It’s a game, and everyone that plays should always remember games were made for only one reason…FUN.

The Necro gets compared to the other meta builds when it should only be compared to ‘other’ Necro builds. You can’t compare LeBron James to Kareem Abdul-Jabaar to because they both played basketball. In my guild I play PVP daily and do dungeon runs with the Necro when needed.

If you need a build to clean a dungeon in six minutes, I think the point of the game, and any game for that matter is missed.

It’s like tennis or sex, if all parties are not the of the same skill level, you come out feeling awkward at best.

Get more friends. It seems simple.

Try positioning your toon better. The dodge skill was , and still is the most important key press in GW2, learning its nuances is the key to everything becoming easier for all of us.

I have 8 80s, and while it is impossible to give them all love, it was crucial to the overall play experience for me to play them all. I prefer to jump into all aspects with a single toon then give them roles, but the Necro logs the bulk of PVP, the Guard the bulk of dungeons, and the Ranger the PVE.

After seeing the Reaper however, I will be playing the Necro solely.

Kodan have terrible posture.

Make it a mechanical moa. Keeps it fun but more our style.
