Crystal Desert
No one was roaming day one. Even last night four of us took a garrison and three keeps.
Peeps are in the labyrinth.
Crystal Desert
Yep, by toming it to 80, we are left with a bit of work, but in the first zone there is at least 5-7 hero points obtainable with gliding. That will at least get you your shield. I have been grabbing all the hero points in the starter zones when my guildies aren’t on.
Crystal Desert
Cool, nice primeval chest I think?
Crystal Desert
Lol, I wasn’t calling you out man. On Rev just gotta slot a staff if you know you’re gonna run a bit.
Crystal Desert
They are being abrasive because it’s new to them too, and we are just plugging ahead, and suggest you do the same. But in the spirit of community…
Go Shiro and Jalis. Sword/sword, or sword/shield. Hammer if you need range.
Spec into Devastation, Invoc, Herald and/or Corruption. Go from there.
Crystal Desert
Jalis for pope!
Crystal Desert
Warhorn and spectral walk.
No mobility problems on my necro.
Crystal Desert
Agreed, it feels like a bladed handcuff. They have so many more options.
Main hand axe, off hand dagger. Scepter, etc, etc…..
Crystal Desert
In the new maps I haven’t taken Jalis off the bar, coupled with Ventari for tight spots.
In vanilla I swap Ventari with Shiro.
But yes, Jalis for the win.
Crystal Desert
Ummm, none?
Tome it to 80. Anyone doing it the old way is a masochist.
Crystal Desert
Rite of the Great Dwarf is 50% damage reduction that can be popped twice with no cooldown.
How is that not elite?
Crystal Desert
Sword melts things.
I went back into vanilla last night for hero points and it was laughable.
And OP you’re wrong, the Revenant is the master of one thing.
Enjoyment. The most important stat there is.
Crystal Desert
That happened to me at first, but I went back in and it let me drag & drop.
It’s something with cooldowns, either the legends themselves or the utilities.
Just a guess, maybe I have no idea what I’m talking about lol.
Crystal Desert
Is the armor exotic or ascended? If it’s exotic…meh, who cares? As long as the skin is unlocked.
It dyes terrible anyways. Shadow abyss is useless, too kitten shiny.

I don’t even use staff yet, and Ventari is viable in situations if rocking Cleric or Zealot.
I run Jalis & Ventari with hammer and sword + shield, and my heals are wonderful.
Staff will make you a mobile hospital.
Go zealot armor & you will do enough damage to be a factor.
Crystal Desert
Revenant is super fun.
Warrior still for straight damage, and/or might stacking.
But in the new maps it feels like straight damage, or just damage is not enough anymore.
Rev is versatile and self-sustaining with spectacular heals party heals if specced right.
But most important…super fun.
Crystal Desert
They fall like rain from Black lion chests, so over the years they have just sat in my inventory. Now they get used.
Crystal Desert
I’m not sure I had that issue, but I did have to drag & drop the utility skills onto my blank bar.
Crystal Desert
I think he’s reading somewhere that some of utilities split into multiple skills or deactivated. If you look on the wiki, it looks like there are more, if you’re not paying attention. But that logic doesn’t fly either, because Vengeful Hammers has to be deactivated as well.
Crystal Desert
I am going 2 Cleric/4 Zealot with Jalis/Ventari. Soothing stone self-heals for around 7k and wipes 3 conditions. That coupled with that wonderful elite that doesn’t have a cooldown and I am having a blast in VB. The zealot armor gives me enough power to make the hammer a threat.
IMO healing power is certainly viable for us if specced correctly.
Crystal Desert
His sword is his DeLorean.
Back to the Future my man.
Crystal Desert
Use hammer with Jalis and back that up with Ventari and staff.
Then tell me it feels like Warrior.
Jalis & Ventari= healing rock.
Shiro & Jalis=self-sustain murder machine
Mallyx when specced right can condi burn ‘most’ classes.
Glint can do almost anything.
Now if you want lots of swiftness, I don’t have an answer for you, but the versatility is definitely there.
Crystal Desert
(edited by DresdenAllblack.1249)
Yep, what yak said.
Dungeons and exploring? You probably want straight power.
Sword gives nice vulnerability with the AA.
Crystal Desert
I pop speed boosters like candy.
Crystal Desert
Shiro melts things. Pve baddies don’t mind conditions as much as we do, so just slot for straight damage and maybe Jalis for toughness. I play as Jalis/Ventari in the new maps, but when I go back to vanilla I slot Shiro. It makes things laughable.
Crystal Desert
Thank you much guys. Now I have a shield with no skills lol.
Gives me something to shoot for. Puts a face on the grind, fun though.
Crystal Desert
until Herald is completely unlocked?
I am three deep in the line, and the first minor specifically states I can equip shields, but no dice. And when I pull up the legends with F1, the square is greyed out.
Any answer is an answer guys. Thanks a head of time, and have fun.
Crystal Desert
You’re missing out then.
I had gliding unlocked about ninety minutes in just running around.
Then I would just run to an edge and jump. Fantastic
Crystal Desert
craftable drop from tot bags I believe
Crystal Desert
$60 is the standard retail cost of any game in today’s market.
I have thousands of hours on the Halo franchise, do I deserve Halo 5 at reduced cost?
Let’s say you put ‘worst’ case scenario 100 hours in HoT.
It’s not worth it?
Crystal Desert
Hahahahaha…sheesh.
Crystal Desert
HPs in HoT are worth 10. So he got 20.
There are some in wvw as well.

Been playing since Beta 3 yrs ago. I have map completion for vanilla GW2. I have NEVER been bored in any map.
Not every one is the same as you. I remember back when I first started playing gw2, I did enjoy world exploration for some time.
But now I completely lost my interest in that. Even the new maguuma jungle doesn’t do the trick. It has all this fancy gliding and verticality features. But I simply can’t enjoy it anymore.
Maybe it’s not the game then?
Crystal Desert
So we learn to glide like we had to learn to dodge roll.
Wait…most of us still haven’t master that yet.
Crystal Desert
Everything you speak of, seemed fun to us. Most times I didn’t even realize I had unlocked a mastery until it popped up.
Don’t chase the carrot, just play the game dude.
Crystal Desert
Ohoni.6057
The new map is frustrating until you get Gliding?Bouncing shrooms?Updraft, but then it becomes a LOT of fun
I will even go as far as to say gliding alone added to the fun factor big time.

Don’t buy it. this xpac is utter crap the new map is horrible the elite specs arent available without grinding for weeks this game is kitten anet got a quick $50 from a ton of people who will never play their games again.
That’s your opinion.. I’m actually enjoying it. Then again I didn’t buy it for the elite specs. I bought it since I got so many hours out of the first game and looks like I will get many more hours out of this one
Yep, it’s been super fun, and honestly with a weekend coming up, it shouldn’t take longer than a few days to fully unlock your elite.

Fastest ways to level up for mastery points?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

By playing the game.
Crystal Desert
I consider myself casual to not-so-casual, that has played from the start. I played for five hours and had a ball. Tough yes, doable yes.
Do not hate on the devs because you’re paper.
*If you want us to be polite, craft some PVT gear, learn to dodge roll(this has always been the most important feature to learn), like learn when to heal and when to dodge, and be patient.
It’s not a sprint.
Crystal Desert
Even when we do the Ascalon fractal, half of the party is next to naked.
And while I’ll agree with the OP, what they need to do is work on the foot wear.
Every. Single. One. Is the same

It’s a not-so-subtle tap on the shoulder to sell more copies of HoT.
Scour Tyria if you wish to do, 10hp events should only be for those speed leveling, not anyone interested in immersing themselves in the world.
Now both kinds of players have an outlet to level.

As an engie player, I would take the 3rd dodge instead of the F-Gyro every single time. Care to trade?
Because losing DPS and having an overlay over our burst F1 is any better?

60 points to unlock the elite. I think we get 60 for logging in. 400 to unlock the whole enchilada. All of us have anywhere from 100-214, and each hero point in HoT gives 10. So 20 if you’ve played a bit, and we can get them in wvw now too.
Sounds like a cake walk.

So that's how you craft legendary weapons
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Dude, hate much?
We are heroes not villains.
It’s that simple.
Crystal Desert
Not until they announce GW3.
Crystal Desert
Guardians are just warriors fighting for a specific cause. So their access to weapons should be similar.
Crystal Desert
Warrior is also missing pistol.
Crystal Desert
Agreed Nacario.
This game has always pandered to the masses. That’s why there are skills like this.
Remember ‘the meek shall inherit Earth.’
Crystal Desert
80. Anyone doing it any other way is fooling themselves, unless this is still new to them.
By now we should have all leveled at least three to 80, and if you have 8, then what are you doing?
They added nothing new to the leveling system so tomes for the win.
