By playing wvw/pvp/silverwastes we all should be able to craft a piece of ascended armor or weapon every 10-14 days. What’s the problem?
With only four, they better be enormous.
I’ve tried all the combinations. I have eight characters.
Well GW1 had the capability to take a backup class, making build diversity even further.
Like Warrior/Monk for a common example.
Warriors will run Cleric, Druids Zerker, paired with six burn Guardians running sword&board, and a few Revs who nothing about their class, and guess what the raid will fall.
Who cares if it takes 55 minutes instead of 37.

I just think elite means more, it means better. That means the specialization should make the class significantly more intriguing to play. How many of the new specs can say this?

I main as a Warrior, and play a ton of Thief, but I have eight 80s. That being said, the only ‘elite’ specs even worth a respec are:
1. Chrono
2. Druid.
3. That’s it.
4. Anet you following?
My guild is small, like two dozen, and we can accomplish anything the game puts in front of us. We help all who interact with us, not just new recruits but anyone that runs with us in any of the game modes. Not all of us are the villains you paint us out to be.
OP, maybe its not the guilds that are undesirable?
(By the way, an MMO isn’t designed to be played alone.)

Just because you made a guild does not make you privileged. A successful guild is a community of players that like gaming with each other.
Playing with yourself is something else altogether.
My main issue on Basilisk is that it is an ELITE that stuns for 1 second.
Mesmer’s have a signet that instant casts and stuns for 3 seconds.
Do the math.
Trickery – Preparedness
+3 max initiative should be baseline. This minor makes trickery, very much like pre-nerf critical stikes, too much of a ‘must have’ line

When you talk about perception of the game population towards other classes, is there any class lower than ours? Necro maybe?
Thief is lowest on the totem of possible fixes and overall enjoyment and maybe that is done intentionally.
Just adding my two cents here. I have eight 80s, one for each class, but I spend the bulk of my hours maining Warrior, and my alt which is Thief. For those hating on Daredevil, when HoT drops I plan on slotting Daredevil with double pistols or sword/pistol, while I have no interest in Berserker for the War.
Other than Chrono and Druid, I don’t think any class is saying ‘I have to play this.’

I was an Assassin in the original Guild Wars with over 4,000 hours on that character alone. I got 50/50 in the HoM and GWAMM’ed it up.

I don’t know about all conditions, but Thief should be the king at delivering bleeds. With all weapons. Poison I could understand Necro being superior.
If we are to be skulking ministers of murder, than the bleed (or poison) should remain one of our trademarks. I shouldn’t be competing with an earth ele for bleeds.
Well, if healing gets the super buff like they say it will, poison is the number one counter to healing. So it will definitely have its place.
I am going assassins/carrion with assassins pistols come HoT.
With the condition party that WvW has become this is far from OP. Warriors have plenty of counters, and a patient player will just wait until BS ends.
Even with the nerfs yesterday, we ran across a guild of mesmers. An entire guild. Mesmers only counter as far as I know are Rangers with full Beastmaster.
Who does that? All classes need counters.

Underwhelming AOEs, I mean traps…meh
Engineer…slot machines…meh
Pole vaulter…meh
Reaper…cool looking, but meh
Frost tuba…absolute yuck
Celestial hospital…whoah, alright
Time bender…hell yes
Shield dragon…of course it was gonna be cooler.
Way I’m keeping score we are right in the middle. At least we’re not absolute yuck.

She works Friday, Saturday, Sunday? All triple shifts? I work all three days and can still play if I wish. Make the time, because they have to make a decision, do most people work during the week or weekend?
We both know that answer.
For me who runs double heaters it helps, but kind of like handing us a band aid when we’ve lost a limb.
Still don’t think we got the worst of it.

This is what line casting does for a skill. Ruin a skill because 5% take advantage of a glitch they were too lazy to fix.
I agree to a point Canakun.
I knew we were going to go backwards before we went forwards. I agree there will be less diversity for now, but the new trait system works, they just have to build outwards from here. Keep adding new trait lines and such (and stop calling them elites), how long it takes is anyone’s guess though.
I bet they are fancy skins. Nothing more.
Although one of them is invulnerable in the air. That might be useful at Mai Trin.

Agree with this nerf. Two IBs could clear any dungeon, why bring anything else?
I think we can grow closer to the trinity circle without being immersed in it.
I also would say, that face tanking and proper healing take skill.
It is putting guilds on a pedestal. Get in a good one and stick there.

I think daredevil is superior to DH & Tempest.
I would argue a proper played thief in wvw is still a nightmare to deal with. I have run my thief through plenty of Arah runs, too many useful utilites and spike damage for them not to be welcome in pve.
so pvp remains the GLARING issue
So our thoughts are:
Increase the auto bleed on 1?
Lower the initiative on 2-5?
I don’t play a class because it is superior, I play it because it is fun. I agree its not optimal yet, but if we want optimal for wvw we’d all play stealth Mesmer.
Also, I’d lean towards it being two skills. #5 has its advantages.
Make a list of the classes that make the other classes the angriest when on equal footing.
1. Thief
2. Warrior
Ironic that our elite specs are underwhelming.
I main a Warrior and could care less for the zerker, after they dumbed down that magnificent rifle finisher. And I don’t think any Ele cares about Tempest. Poor things heard about DH too.

I play them because they are fun and easy to use. I’ve never stopped even after Rico went bye-bye.
