Might I play the neutral ground here, and state even if everyone in this thread can burn down the raid wing in an hour, there are those of us who have brick walled against VG for weeks now. So when us ‘lessers’ finally beat the raid, it will be epic.

A monumental task deserves a monumental reward.

Went down in an event in VB this morning. Two guys running up the path attacked my dead body and moved on. This is the kind of people we play with.

The damage spike is a reward for the player blocking an attack.

Get any and all of your hard-to-impossible HPs in WvW.

This isn’t about GW2, other than the raid which pulls ‘some’ players that way.

This is about CoD, this is about Halo 5, this is SWBF, this is about Fallout. Even Hearthstone has a new adventure.

There are now options to pull people away from our time-gated, gold-sucking playground.

Out of our off-hands, what’s better for burning BBs down, focus or horn?

I’ve had zero success in the raid, and if my guild cannot do it, then that’s fine.

If you think 10 people is hard to get together and coordinate, let’s talk about Vanilla WoW when you had to do the same thing with 40.

WoW had what ten times the people in it’s prime? They could have dropped 80 man raids.

It didnt felt like there is any need for ts.

Communication try it sometime. It’s the heart of every great team.

Good: Red, green, blue.

Bad: Vale & his red, green, blue guys.

If you park a Ferrari in a mall parking lot, and swing the doors open. People will want to look at it, sit on the supple leather, turn the key…maybe soak in the roar. Putting the raid in VB and not instanced causes this distraction.

This affects the rest of the new pve content.

You’re right raids aren’t for everyone, but putting in within everyone’s reach/sight line makes everyone think it is.

Put it at the top of the kittening canopy.

Following up on today’s blog post about raid rewards, we wanted to share some details on specific items:
In order to preserve the challenge of raids, we’re disabling the use of a number of items inside raid instances. Many of these restrictions will be familiar, as they’re also disabled in WvW and dungeons. However, we are also disallowing the use of many runes and sigils that provide bonus damage versus particular types of enemies, as well as the potions that give similar effects. Using food and utility buffs inside a raid is perfectly okay, but most other items that give bonus damage or access to new skills beyond your profession have been disabled.
Hey Gaile, nice to hear that you guys are actively making sure people aren’t exploiting raids to get easy wins. I just wanted to ask one thing however.

How is disabling a sigil that people either craft or buy an exploit? If I give anet real world money and they give BL chests full of kitten boosts, then I fully expect to be able to use those boosts.

I get, I’m good with going in bare back to the raid, but don’t praise them for their falsified difficulty.

Sure it will, after Christmas, and sometime before GW3.

Don’t even attempt it. When the maps dry out, they’ll fix their content…or maybe they won’t, but how many times do you bang your head on the wall before you realize the wall wins every time.

There is no grind with your credit card.

All of us should have had ascended for months now.

My issue, now with the raid dropped, not only do you have to have a raid specific character, some of us have to craft multiple sets for the same toon.

Give everyone on the server 10 gold. That will get most to listen.

If we could just walk everywhere with no obstructions the map would look like an air hockey table.

So how do normal people get the ascended viper amulet or the ascended Sin trinkets?

It’s not that GS is to blame, they should change the Forceful GS trait to apply to hammer as well. Then we could see some more builds.

I’m not even going to rate it. I’ll give my vote when they release a TRUE expansion. Not one that hides its diminutive self behind time & gold gates. THAT being said, I am still having a ton of fun playing, would just prefer they sold HoT as is. a $29 something-to-do for a couple of months, and NOT an expansion.

It’s not that bad. Just like vanilla, learn the map, and it relieve some of your frustration. The key is understanding what HPs and POIs are in the canopy and not in the jungle.

Factions was amazing. HoT is amazingly small.

So they share at least some similarities.

Agreed. There would be a bit more build diversity if we had to kill to get elite skills.

As if, this is the only time gate they installed. There are dozens of these gates making their tiny expac seem so much larger.

Nothing wrong with Rev, so it must be something else…

This is how we handle it. First time time we went into the raid, VG melted us, and even when we were up we weren’t doing enough DPS to make a dent. It isn’t always about the gear, we’re all ascended up. Sometimes it takes skill and the right build, and more so for those of us not in the upper crust of talent, patience and practice.

So we came to the conclusion that once a week we will give it a go, and hopefully make it a chunk further each time. It will come to how bad do you want it divided by real life responsibilities. The raid is crazy difficult, and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

The lack of challenge drove the top talents to solo dungeons.

Yes, HoT is a gated community, but that doesn’t mean they haven’t improved the game going forward. The game was stale and the devs made an attempt to raise our pulses. Whether they were successful or not is anyone’s opinion.

But for the game to stay the course with its country club difficulty would’ve killed it within a year.

How hard is it to switch traits?

Who cares what the numbers are. The only facts you need are try doing an event in one of the new maps, esp. the third or fourth. Is it the raid that has really hampered game pop? Or is it exterior forces? Fallout, CoD, SWBF?

Whatever the case it doesn’t feel the same in the jungle.

In the real world if you set aside a half a day for raids you get fired, divorced, drop out, or all three.

Not only are we doing gear checks, DPS checks, our raid team will have to send in Age verification, No one under 18 will be taken on our Raid team.

That and I think Spirit Vale lowers stats. I lose about 1k hp on every character, tanky or zerker, and I don’t know how or why.

So it’s more difficult.

I completely understand why a DPS meter would be installed, and its the same reason why I would never raid again with a person asking me to ping my gear score. But that’s why I joined the guild I did and why the argument for the meter is still there.

Put it in game and people will either raise their games or not do it at all.
