Casual here. I play other games. Watch comedy. Work. Omg I have a life! This is sick.

Okay I came from the Final Fantasy crowd. I played FFXIV until I got bored of it then came here. I felt sorry for those on ff forums that had not played FFXI – we all kept talking over their heads but didn’t mean to. Now I’m the one getting talked over. I just don’t understand anything you Guild Wars 1 people keep yammering on about.

Is there anyone here besides me that did not play GW1?

Jumping puzzles are the dumbest thing I’ve ever done. They give me a sore back. A sore neck. Motion sickness. And make me angry enough to throw my PC thru the *amn wall. I’ve learned to stop doing things just because someone else thinks I should enjoy it.

Dungeon kicking of any kind is wrong. Get along or don’t play mmo’s.

Lolz. Or just slow the npc dialog track down so they don’t repeat themselves so quickly. But I appreciate voice acting in games. Just no repeating.

I am all for role playing options but I don’t think changing what is already in place is the answer. Maybe adding some more role playing venues? This thread and been derailed from topic and turned into a hissing match. I don’t read any good ideas. Dissecting dungeons isn’t a good idea.

Here’s my idea:
Simulation. Genetics. Breeding. Pets. Mounts. RP servers. Interactive animations. Furniture.

This topic is about dungeon cut scenes, right? I mean there is no other reason to want to solo a dungeon except for story.

I’m a role player because I make up stories to go with my characters. But I’m not in the crowd of role players that emote. It’s way cute and I love them for it but I’m just not into communal rp’ing. My OC’s are miinnne alooone.

The non-role players are all those jerks screaming at the rest of us, “Just play the stupid game already!” They couldn’t remember what color their character’s hair is but they could list stats so fast NASA couldn’t keep pace.

That’s not a bug. She’s my grandma and I gave her that knife for her birthday! Leave her alone!

I didn’t want to play more than one character in this game. I have other games I play besides GW2 and a job so I don’t have time for it. But I couldn’t resist making a fire sprite sylvari. After I made my drow sylvari, of course. Playing with those night light colors is just to tempting.

Anyway, good job. 10/10

Surely adding more pets would be a little redundant? The only difference would be the aesthetic.

If I’m not mistaken, all boons/conditions are covered by the current selection of pets, so unless new boons or conditions there would be a load of overlap between pets.

I guess the only way to mix it up would be for new pets to have different stats. E.g. a new “burn” pet would have different stats to the already existing Salamander Drake, the new one would be less tanky and more offensive, for example.

Using the above idea would be fine for a new collection of pets, but I don’t think it would make sense for every beast in-game to have a charmable version. There would surely be problems if you could equip a huge creature like an Oakheart or Jotun and it would also be strange if you could charm the more intelligent races like grawl, ettin, skritt etc.

I’m seeing no problem with that. Yet everyone wants to talk about mounts.

Everyone seems to add their 2 cents on what they want for GW2 so here is mine. I would like to see every creature in the bestiary capturable for a Hunter’s Pet.

If everything was toggle-able, then you’d see a lot of players simply running around in their underwear all the time, even in combat. I doubt you’d get much more immersion breaking than that.

On April 1st make all home cities open pvp with a 30 minute immunity once you’re killed so it doesn’t get out of hand. Would be really rude awakening to port in and get jumped by a roaming zerg lol…. imagine the surprise.

Since this game came out peeps have asked for a 1st person mode. It is apparently to hard for the devs to work.

I’m not saying our “home instance” isn’t nice looking. It was very kind to make us a home instance. Kind like hospital attendants are kind to make rooms for our sick selves in a nice sterile cold germ free I DIDN’T GET TO DECORATE IT MYSELF short stay. But hay it’s lag free and low server pop and that’s what counts in the end these days. I guess.

I am in your corner OP as far as to say that all games need to take race role play more seriously. The current problem with lag slows developers who would be excited at an endless supply of possibilities. The best can do atm is finding game lists with good customization and play them all. It sounds like maybe you have near exhausted GW2’s limits? That’s a compliment not a criticism. I can only offer what I do and that is to join a lot of games and make a lot of chars while I wait someday for tech to improve and the ultimate char creation game to come along (with genetics – my plug). I could say a lot more on this subject but that would require me talking about other games and I don’t want an account ban for some kind of infringement.

I’m a plant person because it’s the only race that looks like a drow. I couldn’t hope to care less about any story line other than the Forgotten Realms. Sorry. I do like you role players tho. You’re so cuuuuute (not sarcastic truly heart felt).

Simulation games are not grindy. No one has yet made a simulation mmo.

Oh the stupid yahoo they had emailed me but it didn’t get thru. I’M BACK UP AND RUNNING! It’s awesome. Tech had me use port 80. Playing the game with no problems now. Isn’t that nice hearing things going right instead of going wrong?

I sent in a support ticket. They emailed me this really neat program called “GameAdvisor” which produces a sum of all your PC info. But they haven’t responded to my ticket. I was working. I didn’t check my email for 3 days and they had something about tickets being active for only 48hrs. That’s not a lot of time for busy scheduled people. 48 hrs is a spit in the bucket to someone who works full time plus. I can easily skip thru 3 days without realizing they’ve went by. Hope my ticket is still active but I got no response. I may have to resubmit.

Keep saying “connection errors” but my internet connections are perfect.

Words have to many meanings so no I will not sign on to this. Also everyone has moods and gets grumpy. Stuff gets said. Try not to assume the worst in people. They might have an off day. Just move on if you feel yourself getting mad. Most times it’s just a misunderstanding.

A forum troll will show it’s stripes by always acting negative in a way that will get people worked up. It’s the moderator’s job to warn the troll. For users best to note the person’s name and just ignore their threads/comments.

If you want a self improvement goal try saying something nice to one person a day. If they don’t respond in kind just move on.

Sorry, this looks like a large (dull) wall of woe-is-me I’m bored of playing mmo’s. There’s a lot of “should of,” “couldn’t you,” and “back in my day” but no exact explanations or examples.

Check out Best Buy and Gamestop if any near you. They have GW2 gem cards.

This is probably too late, but Target also sells them. They also occasionally have a “Buy 1 get 1 at 40% off” deal for their game cards as well (plus another 5% discount if you have a Target card). These include everything from PSN, Xbox, Nintendo, Steam, GW2, etc cards. Mix and match.

Pets owned by other players activate the “charm” but they should not. This causes confusion when passing a players pet. Annoying in a large group fighting and it keeps going off around all the other hunters.

Plz fix.

Everyone is acting like it never existed or they new nothing about it. Omg I’ve only been playing this game a month and I was always changing out my aqua head gear along with my other equip. Now only some lvl 80 stuff is showing. I am still wearing mine but I can’t find it on AH.

Is it a glitch? Patch got rid of them?

I’ll get on this wagon and add (so I don’t have to start my own thread) could devs please fix the opening screen so I can see my character’s feet. It’s kind of a waste of a potentially quick and good screen shot of my current wardware. Thx!

Not in my Walmart. I looked. All I saw was PWI, Minecraft, RuneScape and IMVU. I don’t have that much gold omg I’ve only been playing a week.

I don’t use a credit card online! I don’t use PayPal or any like service! I don’t buy temp debit cards from Walmart!

If a game cannot come up with their own game card I will not buy anything from their cash shop. My FFXIV acct expired because they have no USA game card and Ultimate Game Card company closed it’s doors. I would not even be here in GW2 if it wasn’t for my uptight game card only attitude. GW2 should get real housing with craftable furniture and more cash shop clothing and a game card.
