I don’t seem to be getting event chests anymore from escorting the bulls in Silverwastes. I take 1-3hr breaks between campaigns, well over the 15 minute mark, yet bulls give me nothing. I’m not sure I am getting any rewards outside of fighting the Vinewrath end boss.

It is not the “core design” of this game to force solo/family orientated players to do anything they don’t want to do. Where are you coming up with this?
Do you truly think solo players are going to run wildly into the arms of large guilds now because they might miss out on some content? Gee I wonder if there is a reason why forcing people to do things against their will makes them not want to be around. After reading this I don’t think I’ll bother going back to my larger guilds. Since I know now it’s all about forcing me even when I’ve said “no.”

You based this on recent actions that may be pliable if the player base contends it. And the players are opposed. Since Anet does listen to what the players want and they have not come out and said in stone not ever changing guild structure to favor smaller/single player guilds.
I have to disagree with one statement I see over and over: that GW2 is pro forcing group content.
I rather thought this game’s bragging rights was that it catered to ALL PLAYING STYLES. There is solo play in this game so there should also be solo guilds with solo guild content.
And I have to reiterate what other players have said. Before HoT we had more. Why did HoT take it away?
Are we arguing that all size guilds’ advancements, no matter the size, should not be gated behind HoT achievements?
Or are we asking Anet to define what they believe a guild is and within that definition how many members constitute a guild?
I personally think 1 member constitutes a guild because it takes 1 member to make a guild. In other games you have to get the signature of 10 people to even create a guild charter. I am a member of a 1 man guild and I would be more than happy to be presented with solo activities that advanced my 1 man guild. I would not mind if they locked these behind HoT even tho I don’t have the expansion and if it is never sold over the counter at Walmart/GameStop etc I might never get HoT (matter of personal principle – I pay cashiers to have a job so they don’t come to my door bumming for money for college).

Reason being is everyone will REQUIRE you use it and not allow you to type.
I don’t know why but people get pushy when an in game voice chat is avail. You get kicked from guilds for not using the in game voice chat. Those who are established on Teamspeak loose their mini community (some paid money). Players WILL troll people when their voice reveals:
1) you are male with effeminate voice
2) you are under the age of 12
3) you don’t speak english
4) you have an accent
5) you are playing from another country not usa (i’m usa but i’m sorry for some reason many fellow country citizens – esp the teenagers – can be wicked stupid biggots)
6) you are ghetto / hillbilly (your accent)
7) you are elderly / mother / basically anything not teenage or young adult
8) you cuss / don’t cuss
9) you are quiet and don’t want to talk / you talk to much
10) you sing, whistle, or play music while you game
It would be nice if we did not target the vine walls in Silverwastes. The ones that appear and disappear before facing the vinewrath. I tab target them to often when I have only seconds to kill the Modrem mobs before they charge. If there is lag I can’t untarget the walls in time to do much good. There is no point in targeting these walls because players don’t do them damage. The walls are not a mob so they shouldn’t even show as a target option. Plz fix so we cannot target them. Thx!

Hay you think Anet is bad try playing a game made by Square Enix! Lolz, you don’t know pain. The problem with games like these (and it is not because they are mmo’s there are single player console games built like a wizard’s research emporium also) is if you are goal driven to experience every aspect you’ll stumble.
There are easy, medium, and hard goals in GW2. Everything is bragging rights and nothing is important unless you make it so. So “let it go.” You don’t have to accomplish everything just because Sue, John, and Henry did.
As far as it being the right game for you my advice is learn programming and make your own game. It will take the same amount of time as accomplishing silly goals in playing games and you will have more self esteem in the end. And bragging rights.

All Commander/Mentor tags are is map spam. They break immersion. Therefore, an option to not see them should exist.

I do not agree with you. I love the wings to death and pieces. Especially butterfly wings on a badboy looking big Charr. Esp when they don’t match his outfit! To bad I didn’t take his picture – didn’t think about it at the time.
I like the outfits the way they are. Definition of outfit is: “a set of matching or harmonious garments and accessories worn together; coordinated costume; ensemble…” That is it is meant to be seen as one entire piece.
BUT…
There is a future maybe in pieced wardrobe IN ADDITION to outfits?
Oh yeah and when there is a fight in EotM between who gets to command this would really be a lot of fun. Omg. Or when everyone decided to pop their dorito chip for fun?
Ah, I have a 1 man guild. I’m not expecting much. Kinda sorry tho that I bought so many points with gold at that influence npc thinking I was going to get all these upgrades. But I’m not mad. Just felt like putting in my 2cents.
Note on the Mad King Labyrinth new people keep coming in and they do not know the big necro skeleton is the BOSS. I didn’t know my first time either. He looks like nothing special till the fite gets going.
I’ve done this successfully once and it was hard. You have to have complete cooperation from the other players with not even one person ignoring chat. You need a commander use to fighting bosses.
You stand in the corner up the cliff ledge and have one person kite the boss to where all can attack. Stay up on that hill so adds don’t do as much damage.
Don’t attack the adds they just respawn?? – possibly in greater numbers (small skeletons)??
HP is high and it takes a long time to kill. You’ll have to raise your dead often so stand in a very tight circle around the tag commander and get your dead up quick. DO NOT SEPARATE FROM THE GROUP (unless you are the kite).

I don’t think people are asking to be handed everything on a silver platter. Look at it from a different angle. If Anet assigned the dev team now to fixing HoT’s gated grind problem, would any players complain that they liked it the way it was at release?? That said, tell me what it is you do want Anet to do? Exactly how could they fix this without making it a handout?
The expansion will cause new fluctuations so nothing can be said yet until it simmers down. Personally I don’t see much change I am still bringing in gold at the same rate as always.
I think it is the story and devout role players. Those two things breed an atmosphere of book worms and geeks; intellectuals who want to think their way out of problems instead of punch/scream their way out. There are caustic players but for some reason these people seem to congregate around pvp situations and are young/immature. I blame the stress of school/puberty for most of their aggression.
I want all wings – bat and butterfly. The fairy outfit. What is on a timer? I already got the halloween mad king. How long will the rest stay in the cash shop?
Also, is there a way to use the cash shop outside of the game?
I do not have HoT (not because I’m poor but because I don’t use credit cards or credit card substitutes).
The bat wings in cash shop say they are glider. What does that mean? Can you glide outside of HoT areas? If you can glide anywhere in the world, do you still have to have the expansion to activate? If no gliding without expansion, will the bat wings still appear on my character if I don’t have HoT?
I’m kinda tired of people thinking I used a cuss word as the word k-i-t-t-e-n just again replaced a word that is very much NOT a curse word in any way.
I did not get HoT because of payment. I don’t use credit cards or credit card substitutes. Best Buy, in my town, refuses to deal with MMO’s any more. I talked with the manager and it seems it’s a personal preference not something in every Best Buy. Same with GameStop? They didn’t even seem to know there was a GW2 expansion even though I bought the main game from them.
Anyway, as a player outside of HoT I still want to thank the devs for working kitten this and for fixing the glitches in SW super fast. You’ve really been putting in the over time and this is still my favorite mmo.
I know it probably gets hard reading all the negative player feedback. That is the mindset virus of this generation; probably a result of being spoiled (never having lived thru several generations without computer technology – we climbed trees, played chess, or went fishing for fun which did not cost a license and the waters were not polluted then). Criticism is a multiplayer’s el casa.
I don’t have the XP but it has caused glitches in SW. Under Fort Red there is an invisible wall where you cannot reach boss. In the desert the invisible wall turns into a mountain you can climb and dance in space. For this 2nd glitch I took a picture so you can see the map position. It was above a chest.
There’s glitches a plenty to be found which you can joyfully exploit for YouTube entertainments! I just got done dancing on an invisible mountain in SW with a whole lot of players. Sadly I didn’t think to have my vid stuff running and pics don’t really show the fun.
I’m angry at our Best Buy. They put me on hold and leave me on hold. If they can’t answer their phones within a reasonable amount of time I wont do business with them.
I’m just giving up on getting HoT. I have plenty of money but no one bothers to use cash. Screw it. I’m tired of dealing.

I read in the forums that Silverwastes is still running. Really I had not thought it would be endangered by the expansion since it was running last night. But EotM was not up so now I want to know if I do not have the expansion can I still play EotM?
I don’t trust the prepaid cards. I have no way of telling what is a prepaid card and the real deal. When I tried something like that once they wanted the same info you would be asked if applying for a real credit card. Maybe I picked up the wrong one. I have no idea what the right one would be. And what if they cheat me? Who would I report to?
With a game card I really do not have to give any personal information. My phone number is mine to keep. My address mine. Etc.
I did not exclusively say I wanted to pay for HoT. I said “future expansions.” A lot of you think the world ends at HoT and there is nothing else.
I want my favorite game represented at GameStop. I favor that store over the new age digital obsession. If GameStop is not cooperating I can understand. But I’m very afraid of loosing them and they provide jobs for USA citizens where digital online downloads do not.
As far as Amazon is concerned I shop there a lot. Using a CoinStar I can get an Amazon prepaid ticket and put money down. Again it is a matter of trust. I try not to buy anything expensive or important to me from Amazon case something it goes wrong. And for those who might read this and try the CoinStar method please note that not all CoinStars are set up to do the Amazon ticket but many of the newer ones are. CoinStar is a coin counting machine found at the front of almost every grocery store in the United States.
Will Anet ever consider making and distributing game cards? Is there anyone besides me that would want to use them? Note it would have to pay for expansions not just cash shop stuff. It would have to be sold at GameStop or Walmart because I don’t have a 7-11. Target would be okay too.
