Will Anet ever make Non-DPS role important?

So why does gear other than berserkers exist?

1. PvP/WvW
2. In PvE: To provide a safety net for players learning to dodge. I fully understand a newbie who has never fought a boss isnt going to dodge correctly. They will inevitably eat some attacks. Tanky gear or sustain gear will close the learning gap.

why does healing power exist?

Professions with high regeneration or traits/skills that give health per second will survive longer with healing power instead of more vitality or toughness. Compare Zealots (Power/Precision/Healing) vs Knights (Toughness/Precision/Power) on a warrior. Warriors healing signet and naturally high armor combined with heal on crit food means that a warrior using zealots who isnt the best dodger would survive longer (AND DO MORE DAMAGE) using Zealots than he would with Knights. Some professions simply get more survivability from HP than they do adding more vit or toughness.

Anet is throwing away a big part of the game simply because they won’t bother to make the other specs comparable to max dps.

No, they aren’t. The gear, all of it, as it currently exists works perfectly. If you need help dodging and aren’t going to survive without some tankiness or sustainability, the wide spectrum of defensive gear works amazingly in the role it was intended for. The only gear set that is currently broken and dysfunctional is Rampager’s but that’s another story.

The game is 2 years old. People who have been playing for months/years know how to dodge in the same dungeons they have been doing for months/years. They don’t need the defensive safety net any longer. This is why Berserker gear dominates now. Fewer people need the crutches anymore, so fewer people use crutches, simple as that.

They are not crutches – that is funny. DPS ONLY is also crutch – hurry – get the boss down fast..

Will Anet ever make Non-DPS role important?

Dusty Moon.4382

The thing is DPS roles ARE important. Just because this game does not have the Trinity in it, does not mean that there is only DPS left. It is far from it. It is the players who say DPS (hence Zerker) is the only important thing – that is a player defined meta. That is not was A.Net says.

If you play in WvW you see that there are many roles that are needed and HAVE to be used. Same with sPvP – you can’t just use DPS only. Same with PvE . it is the players mindset that is causing this issue, not A.Net.

Rock paper scissors was removed from GW1? I’m sure it was still there at the last Canthan New Year. (It’s how I normally get my lunar fortunes.)

RPS is only allowed in instances not in town any more.

Gambling is not allowed. Any way that a player can make RL money from the game, is not allowed. Please read your EULA.

Well, you have armor, weapons with your Guild emblem on them already – why do we need capes? Capes really had clipping issues in GW1 – don’t need any more of those.

GW1 best MMO ever? LMAO i played browser games that were more entertaining. GW2 still didn’t become GW1, there won’t be another game like GW1 ever again cause very few people would want to go through nightmare of playing it. Enjoy GW1 while Anet still wastes bandwith to host it. Won’t last much longer.

It doesn’t take much bandwidth. I think as long as GW2 is going GW1 will be going.

Nice snarkiness there also.

So first of all I got question to some of you.
Why are you so toxic? That someone got questions? Dont like the same things?
I dont understand.

  • Negative title and negative attitude – Kind of like – “Go ahead Knock this block off of my shoulder.” *

To other group of you who think that Im lying. I played gw2 for 500 hours .

Back to topic:
-manifesto. I was so exited about game after reading it and watching all videos about. But sadly. That wasnt 100% accurate.

SO – what game doesn’t put out ideas then backs off when they see how much work they are – Ever hear of ESO – look at there Manifesto – nothing on it got into the game – NOTHING. That is nothing more than the DEVELOPERS DREAMS FOR THE GAME NOT PROMISES. If you think they are promises then I suggest a course in reading comprehension

Other thing:
GUYS I stopped playing it after 6 moths so I dont know anything about some living story, megaservers, all changes. Thats why Im asking you for any bigger updates.

About support. I wanted to know your experiences. Because shortly after release it was rubbish.

After release every game has issues because there are so many tickets in. Jeez, you would think this was your first MMO or game

5x guardian team. Come on semi tank + semi healer = almost impossible to kill. And guardian had no problems with searching team.

They are not difficult to kill – All you need is one Mesmer with buff stripping and they are dead.

But even after some toxic answers I decided to play it again. And, no one of you mentioned, new better “lfg” mechanic. Its cool.

And most important: GUYS chill out. Why are you so exited so mad at me.

Edit: In steam guard you dont need to log in with e-mail. So whats the problem with implementing something similar here?

One game – In Rift, TERA, TSW, ESO, WoW, etc all use your email address. They want to know if it is a fake – that is what Gold Sellers and hackers do

… and playing music is such an advantage?

I would think that it’s more ANet holding a hard line against macros than whether or not music playing gives advantages. They can’t reasonably say no macros but then allow some macros. A company gets into legal problems when they apply the rules inconsistently.

GW1 wasn’t an MMO, developers of GW1 stated as such.

Unfortunately they didn’t develop GW2. It does seem they wrote the manifesto then left.

Actually a few are still around so you can’t say what you just said since A.Net did develop GW2 and is still updating it. Unless you think A.Net is actually another company now…

GW1:Utopia was supposed to be the 4th chapter but was cancelled in favor of GW2.

Macros are not allowed, unfortunately.
Imo using macros should be ok to use as long as you don’t use them to get a personal advantage. But afaik, they are not.

I’d love to use my auto click macro to sell stuff if I have a full inventory, or if I have to use a ton of consumables.

Anything that gives AN ADVANTAGE of one player over another is not allowed. Your one click WOULD give you an advantage – hence it is not allowed.

How does me selling my junk to a vendor quicker give me an unfair advantage over other players? Or drinking my karma jugs in 10 seconds instead of in 10 minutes?

In order for me to have an advantage over other players, there need to be some sort of competition first. It’s not like whoever empties his inventory first wins. What do I care if someone is able to sell his/her stuff faster than me?

Because it means you can sell more items than another player. it is an advantage, not matter how small. Same with playing a musical instrument. As far as drinking potions, in GW1 they banned people for using macros to drink potions – the same will happen in this game.

Sorry, A.net’s policy is all or none and right now it is none.

Go play other MMO plz.
GW2 is designed for no vertical progression, and I prefer to stay this way.
If GW2 becomes a vertical progression game many MANY people will leave.

Plenty have already left this game (not including china, its pretty new there)
Why? because of the lack of progression period… horizontal/vertical, doesn’t matter. theres just no progression at all. Once you hit 80, you can literally do any endgame content. Full exotic armor is dirt cheap (minus high lvl fracs)

And your problem with that is? To me it is a boon that there is no gear grind. There are already plenty of games that have gear grinds and it is nice to have one w/o it.

Your point does nothing – I like the fact that at lvl 80 you can do anything. I think that is a boon.

As far as people coming and going in game, this game is NOT like a sub game where when people leave they almost never come back. People in this game come and go and that is due to the B2P nature of the game. People don’t want to admit that it is different but it is.

Well for me – there should ne NO END GAME as with a living world, you never get to the end.

“Hello, I bought gw2 long long time ago. More specifically I preodered it. And I was very very very VERY disappointed with:”
-crashes – nope have had none since the beginning – most due to drivers on my system
-empty servers – ??? you mean areas – that happens in EVERY game
-no end game – See comment above
-grind all the time (80 lvls?? Come on in gw1 there were 20. I could hit max lvl in 3 hours. In gw2 its much much longer) -

  • WAH? GW2 has a linear progressions so it takes the same amount of XP to go from lvl2 to lvl 3 as it lvl 79 to lvl 80.*
-crafting – also grind * So? There really wasn’t any crafting ion GW1*
-dumb login procedure (every time I had to login onto my mail, I still have to) * you had to do it in GW1 also – security first*
-support not responding for tickets – depends if the what was complained about can be dealt with in a ticket
-Boring classes (skills – small amount and all almost same [deal x dmg] ) stop ysubng cookie cutter builds from the internet and you will see a difference
-5x Guardian team so op – No they can still be brought down – kind of like a team of monks in GW1*
-No level scalling (80lvl character in 30lvl area is still stronger than 30 lvl character there) – * of course that is because of your armor, trinkets and weapons. If you want to be weaker, try lvl 30 on you 80*
-Gem shop news all the time – and other games don’t? Try Rift, TERA< WoW, etc. they all do the same.
-Insane server structure (gw1 districts ftw) – G W2 is a true MMO and GW1 was not. That is why there can’t be the same server structure

What you are complaining about is GW1 is a different game than GW2. Since it is, they should have a different architecture and build.

Negative criticisms should be ignored and thrown out. They have no place in any civil society.

Hopefully, for the good of the humanity, there aren’t many who share this sentiment.

If you think gaming is that important, please go outside and breathe some fresh air.

Good of Humanity is important, gaming is not. Which is why I said what I did. If you equate the two, you need help with your priorities in life.

Where in my post did I say anything about gaming?

I was only talking about this game. That is why I said what I did. You were talking about humanity – which I have no clue why – equating with gaming and humanity is truly mind boggling.

We already have the most uncivil discourse, in politics and elsewhere, having it here should not be tolerated, as it is optional. One can say a dissenting opinion and still be constructive. It doesn’t need to be hateful and hurtful or disrespectful.

Maybe if people would be respectful, they would get some answers from the developers. If you ever see their twitch feeds, they love to talk about the game.

“Discourse has ended in America. It’s all just shouting and ranting and demonization. Do you know how the rest of the world laughs at you guys? Have you got any idea? They’re just rocking with laughter night and day.” Felix Dennis

For me, the total lack of recognition shown regarding these problems is just killing my enthusiasm for the game. I am sure there are many others like me.

Can we please have at least one post saying “We have read and are looking into the issues raised”? I don’t know how much longer I can hold on to GW2 in the hopes of an improvement.

been happening since launch sadly. It took a long long time to get any mention on previous posts about the loot issues when they were worse than they are now, and that thread was repeated 4 times because they kept deleting them, what’s worse is the last thread that was posted about the loot issues and lack of rewards this game suffers one of the community managers posted that it was all people’s imaginations. Now there are whole memes created about that post where it’s clear they think players don’t know when something’s dramatically and fundamentally flawed in the game design.

Some of us have been playing games for years and despite the young inexperienced ones’ naivete we know that the fundamental mechanics and how they basically work, we also know the math behind these systems and know that they are basically the same on spreadsheets, so when someone doesn’t listen to us about problems we know exist in the game and they haven’t done anything about it, there’s a serious customer service issue involved here. A lack of concern for the customer’s experience is never a good sign. I’ve written multiple threads about the lack of quality control concerns going on here. Guess where they all ended up?

It’s not just limited to those threads you’ve listed mind you it’s about many many things. For example, not coding a simple checkbox in the settings to hide hobosacks on Engineers. Like seriously how long does one have to wait for such a simple code to be entered into the build of the game? I’ve spoken with multiple coding friends and it’s not a difficult thing to do at all, quite frankly the stalling involved is at this point ridiculous for something so simple.

You are assuming that some of these things are simple. If you have not worked on this particular game engine, you just don’t know. For all you know, some of these bugs are in the game engine themselves and can’t be redone without recoding.

The problem is people think everything is easy and that ALL THE DEVELOPERS HAVE TO DO is answer questions, click a box to fix things, etc. Nothing in life is that simple. If games were that easy to develop and fix, there would be many more game companies out there than there are. There were a few games I was really interested in, during development, only to find that they coded huge flaws in the game that couldn’t be fixed. These games are complex buggers.

As far as your QA/QC threads ending in the trash, it could be your attitude or tone of your post that could have done it. It may have nothing to do with the topic but I see you assume it was.

You can’t equip 2 of the same legendary on one toon. Just like you can’t have the same Ascended trinket, weapon on the same character.

You can indeed dual wield legendary weapons, daggers, pistols, swords, axes as long as the profession allows it. For example a thief can dual wield legendary daggers as long as they have two of them.

Well with Ascended Trinkets, you cannot use two of the same one.

“Zerker Feed’ as you put it is the player defined meta. Just because ‘Zerker’ has the most damage does not meat it is the most desirable build in game to use. A.Net has already decreased the damage output of zerker and if you do many of the higher level world bosses, you will see many people being downed and many of those are ‘zerker’ builds.

Until you get the ‘zerker’ meta out of the player, you will never change the way the game is played.

It still is “zerker feed”, all mobs of the old content have medium-high HP, high damage and low armor, rank ups only increase health and dmg primarily, and give Unshakable,
stats that pretty much counter CC, Conditions and Support builds. While supporting more Berserker builds. (I really hope the rank up on newer content won’t be only HP and DMG tho)

The lack of variety on old GROUP content, like I wrote on my post, is quite the problem.

Pretty much only time there are any players downed or defeated, is the heavy use of AoE damage and area denial by the mobs, boss or worldboss, to which the players who just tend to go all “charge in -> spam 111111”.

They have changed some of them. But, people have adapted and it is easy again. After all this game is 2 years old.

The one that really changed, Tequatl, people complain is too hard. They want to kitten it.

All of the higher end World bosses have been changed. People have adapted and they are easy again.

NONESENSE – the game would have to be turned into a GW1 style – with the same servers, etc. Sorry your post is impossible. It could be done with Dungeons but not the normal PvE areas. Part of the megaserver is to put as many players in one area.

With down leveling in lower level areas of the game, all one would need to do is use armor/weapons/trinkets from those areas, not use your lvl 80 items. It would make the game that much harder. That might be easier than actually trying to rewrite this game for the people who think they need uber areas.

How is it impossible to have 2 Plains of Ashford zones (for example) that you can pick when you enter the zone (either by clicking on a WP in PoA or going thru a portal). In the Normal Zone, everything is as it is now (downleveling, ect.), but in the HARD mode zone, EVERYTHING is lvl 80+, can re-clear the map (with new titles, etc.) maybe some differences in the Hearts (or no Hearts like Orr). Enemies respawn much faster, have 5 to 10 times more Vets, increase the number of Champs add better AI mechanics and possibly more exploitable chests that require keys (or even timed events like the Sandstorms).

It is NOT technically impossible at all and there was NOTHING wrong with this type of thing when it was rolled out in GW1….I fail to see how it would be a bad thing (sans the population issue…see below).

Now I agree something like this would effect zone populations and potentailly segregate the population into “hardcore” players and casuals but cities would still be common hubs (and maybe you don’t do this with starter zones?).

My point was it is CERTAINLY technically feasible and the revitalizing potential of such an “update” is too great to just discount because you think it’s too much like GW1 or would potentially cause community issues (that could be worked around to some extent).

Because the server system doesn’t work that way in GW2, It puts you into one until it gets to a certain point and then makes another area (say area 2) of the same map.

Why bother writing a long thought ought article with legit concerns and suggestions when its guaranteed to fall on deaf ear?
Arena net has shown that they’ll do what they want.

Negative criticisms should be ignored and thrown out. They have no place in any civil society.

Well, that is enlightening. That is honestly your belief?

That is how protesters get lined up against a wall and shot, basically.

Only in places where nothing but the ‘party line’ is accepted and you can’t compare games to things that really matter in life. To say otherwise belittles the people who gave their lives for something that they believe in. I don’t thank anyone was put in jail for saying that any game is junk.

But, people whining on this forum is not about beliefs (like the Dr. King speech "I have a Dream’) but about being ‘entitled’ because they bought this game and that means they want information more than they need, want or even sometimes deserve.

There is a huge difference.

This is a good example of what I just posted about. This attitude is the biggest reason why they remain silent until their plans are fully developed.

I don’t think there’s much wrong about my attitude on this matter. I do honestly believe they should tell us more. Not everything but more. I would simply like more updates on what’s going on behind the scenes, I think players deserve that. I feel like the wall between the players and Anet is very high and very thick. I think the wall between players and developers should be thinner, and more open.

I am not talking about them responding to every nit-picking opinion, I’m asking to have open updates on what they’re working on. I’d like to hear more updates on precursor crafting, on getting season 1 into the journal. I’d like to know if they’re working on fixing almost 2 year old dungeon bugs. They do not need to promise us anything, I just feel they should update us regularly on their current projects.

Not everything needs to be super secret right up until a feature pack is released, that is all. They are silent about so many matters, matters that are INCREDIBLY important to their player base.

GW1 still has the same armor bugs that were reported in the first week it was out. How do you expect them to fix everything? It is impossible.

Your type of attitude is the reason that they do not say anything any more. Once bitten, twice shy as the old adage goes. They were giving information freely in the beginning. Then there were all the negative pile-on threads saying how stupid they are and even calling specific developers that by name (ON MANY FORUMS JUST NOT THIS ONE). if this happened to you, wouldn’t you not say anything until it is important?

They have put in many bug fixes, etc that are not in the main release notes. They don’t HAVE to tell us everything or anything for that matter. Courtesy begets courtesy.

You say ‘MATTERS that are important to the player base’ but you list none. It would be helpful if you listed things so I can see if they are the same things I am interested in also. You may find out that what you are interested in, no else cares a hoot about or everyone is. Blanket statements help no one.

How can they detect me?
Are people reporting players for doing that ?
Did anyone notice any manipulation on the market ?

They have logs on it all. Even your chats, not whispers though (if it is the same as GW1).

Anet hide everything and are not open with us at all.
This is possibly, for me, the worst thing about this game. We should not be kept in the dark as much as we are. We should know what they are and aren’t working on FOR DEFINITE. And we should know if they ever intend to fix bugs that have been around for a very long time.

They do not need to respond to everything on the forums, but we shouldn’t need to ask questions about somethings. They need to address major issues and questions raised on a frequent basis, but they do not do this.

This is a good example of what I just posted about. This attitude is the biggest reason why they remain silent until their plans are fully developed.

Tolunart thumbs up I think the old adage, ‘You get more bees with honey than with vinegar’ comes to mind. Why should A.Net even respond to such negative declarative statements? I know I wouldn’t because you are darned if you do and darned if you don’t.

Should they? The game being out for 2 years and after reading all the negative pile on threads out there (against GW2 and A.Net), on this and other forums, I don’t blame them at all for playing it close to the vest. They do tell us what is going on but only 2 weeks beforehand. That prevents the knee-jerk reactions from snowballing.

I blame the ‘entitled’ attitude of players. I am ‘entitled’ to a response because I am so important to the survival of the game. The developers have better things to do with their time than stroking the egos of forum posters. This is the current attitude in this day and age of the internet.

Oh, I think everyone understands GW1 had a TON of balance issues. I think if they were really honest with themselves, they’d agree it was even WORSE than the balance issues GW1 has.

But the diversity was worth the lack of balance, because to them most of the fun was FINDING those OP builds and testing them against what other people found.

No – not even close. GW1 was so out of balance and A.net actually said it was a mistake to have primary and secondary professions and that was the biggest cause of imbalance because of unintended synergies.

The diversity was not worth the imbalance. Also, as I pointed out, there were many ‘flavor of the day builds’ that were so OP. If you GvG or HoH with a balanced group you were pigeon-holed into one or 2 specific builds – that is not diversity.

I’ve been wanting to do this complete event chain but for days now of all my time spent in this zone this chain never resets back to the very beginning. I keeps bouncing back and forth between Keep the Modniir invaders from retaking Kingsgate and Stop the centaurs from retaking their camps. I find this annoying and frustrating. Especially since the later will succeed even if there is only one person doing the event. Heck one time I think even the NPCs all by themselves succeeded in even success so the chain isn’t resetting. Is this something that is broken and in need of being fixed? Or is there something I’m just completely missing here?

The quests need to be done is a certain sequence or you never get to that point.

Choose a side: Cantha or Elona?

I think a lot of people would end up disappointed with an “under water” expansion.

Why not above Water? Kryta, Elona and Cantha are all connected via coastlines, so why not do like Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag / Zelda The Wind Waker, and make player controlled ships?

Not only would it be easy to create a massive open world sea, full of optional under water combat, but you could also easily add new islands through the living story. Plus, having your own private ship could be the alternative to regular mounts!
My fear with Elona is that the sand theme and the deserts will become a too repetitive theme. Not only that, but having to deal with the undead army in that region, might be hitting too close to what we fought in GW2 already with Zhaitan being the “undead” dragon.

Would it make more sense if they added parts of Cantha and parts of Elona in one single expansion? Vigil goes to Elona, Order of Wispers go to Cantha, and Durmond Priory goes to the northern Shiverpeaks?

If they are going to branch the storyline, will they keep the 3-way system? I suspect the personal story of all the races became too much for them to do.

Cantha is not connected to Elona or Kryta as this map shows – http://zoom.it/TWLx#full or this link is better http://ectos.darkbb.com/t3340-maps-of-tyria-then-gw1-now-gw2

Cantha is cut off from the rest of Tyria and as such we probably won’t be going there if all in GW2. Maybe in GW3….

Ships!!! We need air ships! The Zeyprithines will take us!

They are all or mostly dead. Kind of like the dwarves……

Negative criticisms should be ignored and thrown out. They have no place in any civil society.

Ok .

Seriously, is that all you can say?

I will give an example of how negative criticism is used on this forum. In one of the many Mount threads, one forum member, who is pro-mount, said people who are against mounts have not given any viable reasons against mounts. I, being anti-mount, turned around and actually posted a list of the reasons against mounts. Then he basically came back and said, those are not viable reasons. That is not how a civil society debates anything. Just because I disagree with your or anyone else’s opinion does not make it any less valid. He did not want a debate, he just felt his opinion is the only right now and that is not a fact, other than in his own mind.

Vayne did say it best in his post.

With down leveling in lower level areas of the game, all one would need to do is use armor/weapons/trinkets from those areas, not use your lvl 80 items. It would make the game that much harder. That might be easier than actually trying to rewrite this game for the people who think they need uber areas.

Yeah .. problem is in the end that people don’t want that because they don’t really want just the challenge, like they always say, in the end they want more better special mega-loot.

And thats why they don’t just play naked to have their harder content, because it doesn’t gives 10 times more loot.

Well, my guild has done it – it is pretty crazy to try. Nice post Beldin thumbs up

[Suggestion] About updating older content

Since the Season 2 living story introducing mobs that would slaughter simple, reckless, full berserker builds, with Area Denial, AoE Conditions, high powered AoE Retaliation, AoE damage, High armor and AoE heal, that encourages players to use more CC, Support and conditions.

Well, I hope the old content gets updated to have more varied mobs, than just “Zerker feed”.

Core of the suggestion is word “group”. You’ll understand what it means…

  • Affects only content that has word “Group” on it’s description. Solo will be unaffected. Since word “Group” means cooperation, which goes over the “Play how you like” philosophy, since “Play how you like” means uncooperation.
  • Dungeons, Group Events and World bosses are updated to spawn variety, than just same mobs with higher rank, which means x10 DMG, x10 HP and unshakable (Which are features against conditions, healers and CC, but supports full berserker…).
  • Ranks rarely add additional skills to mobs, which is a good feature itself tho. No need to change much about this.

  • Scale up system, would work accordingly to spawn variety, less higher ranks.
    OR
  • Scale up system is reworked, and Rank effects instead would vary depending on mob. If NPC is Heavy armor, it would increase ARMOR and vice-versa.

Constructive feedback and criticism. Sounds nice. Maybe people gave up.
Why bother writing a long thought ought article with legit concerns and suggestions when its guaranteed to fall on deaf ear?
Arena net has shown that they’ll do what they want.

On the internet, people would rather harangue and downplay things than actually give constructive criticism. It is due to the fact that the internet is anonymous and people feel secure in saying EXACTLY what they think without any recriminations. I wonder if people would be so negative if would get the same type of feedback back that they gave?

A.Net is allowed to do what they want. They wrote the game, they own it lock, stock and barrel. You are just licensing the use of it, like you would MS Word or any such software. The fact they actually have an official forum that people can give and exchange ideas basically negates your idea that they do what they want. If they really did what they wanted, how long do you think these negative Forums would last?

Negative criticisms should be ignored and thrown out. They have no place in any civil society.

How would you do hard mode on an open world? How would one actually prevent ALL the players in that open area from being swept in your hard mode run? It is impossible to do in open world PvE game.

Nonsense. You instance EVERY map with a NORMAL and HARD mode instance that you choose (if you are level 80) when you enter the zone. It doubles the number of maps that must be maintained, but guess what….MegaServer just did the exact opposite (if not more than half the number being maintained) …..that’s a very interesting coincidence, don’t you think?

I’ve always thought one of the main reasons MegaServer has been put in place is for this eventuality in Anet’s long term plan (some form of HARD mode that requires a drastic increase in zone quantity).

On the downside, it will further fragment the community and possibly make Normal zones much less active, but that’s not much worse than how it was before MegaServer anyway.

Note that all of the above is pure speculation on my part.

Check the WvW section. I don’t remember the last time any dev posted there.

You see these forums as a way for 2 way communication between devs and fans. But in reality these forums were set up for fans to communicate with each other. When devs come on, they do so on their own private time. They’re not paid to talk to you. They’re paid to make a game.

Anything any dev said on the WvW forums would involve some kind of length exchange. It’s not their job. Just because some people think devs should be required to respond to them doesn’t make it so.

So true Vayne. Your post is spot on.

I think the real reason is, they never finished the camera system. The current implementation of the camera, is a buggy mess, that is bad even by most PS1 game standards. It constantly zooms in and out when it shouldn’t. When ever the camera is near the ground, and the player climbs a flight of stairs, it goes nuts. When anything gets in between the camera and the player, it zooms in so much you can’t see a thing. And when the player gets close to a wall, it does the same (which makes platforming an infuriating challenge). The camera is also blocked by invisible walls, which means the camera will sometimes zoom in when colliding with the air.

No. please read http://www.guildmag.com/community-interview-with-colin-johanson/

It explains why no 1st person view. If you think they didn’t finish with the camera system, we couldn’t play at all.

In Gw1, if you wanted to make it through Nightfall, (after EotM was introduced) everyone used the Ursan skill – it was so OP as to be ludicrous. When they nerfed it, every Mesmer had to carry PI. So, yes even though it had more skills, it has less usable skills.

Complete and utter fabrication. No more accurate than if I were to say that no one used Ursan and no mesmer ever carried PI.

Inventing, “facts,” to support your position is a pretty solid indication that it doesn’t have a leg to stand on.

Of course if you can provide proof of your claim (PS: we both know you cannot) that would be something different.

I am NOT inventing facts. I was playing GW1 at that time. Pretending that GW1 had no balance issues, is ludicrous to say the least. Ursan was the build of choice for more than 6 months after EotN was released. PI was always wanted as people were spamming for that in LFG. They were the player Meta flavor of the day.

http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Talk:Ursan_Blessing/Archive_1\

Proof – don’t need any more. Anyone who played GW1, during that time will tell you the exact same thing. Luckily, those were PvE only skills and could not be used in HoH, GvG or any Faction Arena.
