It would be nice to have an out of combat weapon swap for engineers and elementalists. For an engineer I would also like to have the weaponswap key swap from your weapon to your kit while you are in combat. This way the kit will realy behave like an second weapon and not as a utiltiy skill (altough it will still be in you skillbar with utility).
Why should an ele have another weapon – they already have 4 different weapons because of the attunements (Fire, Water, Air, Earth)- you want them to have 8 now? Talk about OP… NO WAY!!
The same can be said for Engineers. KITS are NOT utility skills, they take over the bar. Rocket Launchers, etc do act as a utility skill – You want them OP – sorry NO!
It is fine the way it is.
This argument reminds of the Saboteur nerf in Rift in the first 2 weeks of the game. People were whining about Sabs being OP but they were glass cannons and people didn’t know how to play against them. Rather than learning to play, Trion nerfed them to oblivion to appease the whiners. This is the same thing here, Ele and Engineers already to copious amounts of data and they have good survival built in.
but def already said it will be fixed.
Really? I never ever read it. Do you have any link for this?
I’ve not read that either, Gotta link?
Weapon diversity is an issue as well, and not all engis use kits btw but still those engis that don’t do not want legendary weapons because of the problems we face with lack of weapon choices.
What Engi doesn’t use weapon kits – what build? Proof? Remember that Rocket launcher, etc can also be considered ‘weapon kits’.
Weapon diversity is an issue as well, and not all engis use kits btw but still those engis that don’t do not want legendary weapons because of the problems we face with lack of weapon choices.
Trying to pass of “I don’t want to use kits” as a reason to have more weapons is ridiculous. That’s like me saying “I’m a Mesmer but don’t want to use Focus, Torch, Sword, Pistol or Greatsword, so we need more weapon diversity please!”
I agree with the above – NO and NO. The Ele has 4 attunements they can use and that is like having 4 sets of weapons. The Engineer has kits and again that is like having more weapons (they have their own skills attached to them).
I find nothing wrong with it and if they do get an actual weapon swap, the same people complaining about wanting a weapon swap will be back complaining that these professions are now OP because of it.
Due to family visting I haven’t hit the mega bosses as much the last couple weeks. However, the usual runs I do of Tequatl and Wurms are always well organised. The guilds involved encourage everyone who is on the map to join and politely request that anyone who is map exploring to relog so that players who want to get in to that server but are hardcapped out can get in.
The one key thing about the mega bosses is communication. As long as the vast majority of players are able to get clear concise communication from the commanders leading the event then even if it’s not over teamspeak, map chat can work. I’ve done runs where the only communication was via squad chat and that went flawlessly.
Exactly – it is the same with RAIDs – communication is key. If you don’t want that and just zerg everything, you won’t succeed.
Was a nice concise post the above is!!
People did that in other games and they want to do the same in every game they play – lazy players.
I remember my 55 Monk or Necro…so much fun farming the underworld.
That was an exploit of the game, so I wouldn’t say go back to this way -also used dual profession.
Then it was the most widespread exploit, that never got fixed.
It did – 55 monks died between year2 and 3 of the game. This was due to the addition of enchant stripping in UW and FoW and the nerf of Shield of Judgment.
Are you sure about that, I thought Protective Spirit was the main skill for 55 monk.
and Shield of Judgment – that is how the damage was done.
Refresh my memory., so how did 55 Necro do damage, it couldn’t use Monks elite skill.
I was talking about the 55 Monk – 55 Necro – did not try.
Y’all are romanticizing GW1 a little too much. Remember when every group running HoH was Bunny Thumpers, then there was the next meta. There was no freedom either.
A noob doesn’t think “ooo a huge dragon event! wait, before I go in I better go read the wiki, watch the you tube videos, and walkthroughs, and retrait to x, y, z, Switch my gear and weapons before I do this”
Uuuugh. I chaffe so much at the “GO READ THE STRAT” mentality when it comes to raiding culture. It’s like they need a cheat guide just to feel superior.
But I digress, because as some point, failure sucks. THEN you go read the strat. :P
I’ll go “read Dulfy” when I care, thx.Still, even world bosses aren’t overly complicated. Except maybe Wurm. The simultaneous kill part is just dumb. (That’s a thing, isn’t it?)
It is a coordination thing – it isn’t so bloody hard to do.
Already going to look into it, but if I remember it should be off. But that doesn’t change the fact that there are so many spell effects and other things going on in the events or zerg that you can’t even see your own character.
Unless I am in a 100 V 100 – I don’t have many issues – the Anti-aliasing is a huge hog of resources.
Also this game is a huge CPU hog (single threaded too). Make sure you have many background items that are normally running turned off. That is the biggest issue not the GPU.

TURN OFF ANTI-ALIASING – that helps a bunch.
1. People were complaining the areas were dead.
2. People were complaining they couldn’t finish bosses because of low populations
3. People were complaining the ‘guesting’ on another server caused them to go into overflow and not finish an event.
So, A.Net came up with mega servers to fix the above, now people want it to revert the way it was. You can’t have it both ways.
Turn off anti-aliasing – that helps a huge amount.
Lol I’m not talking about mega servers.
They are the same bosses as before – just more people to do them.
ANet’s obviously reworked the daily system to encourage more people to try WvW and PvP.
Yes we all know that, and that’s the problem. Worse yet, “encourage” is playing it down. More like “force players” to try other game modes. And that solves absolutely zero of the complaints people had:
- People who complained about the number of daily achieve points because of their obsessive-compulsive mindset are still forced to spend time in PvE, PvP and WvW.
- Those of us who were content with just getting a quick daily set done now have to spend more time getting them done because of the lack of options.
- And PvP players are still often forced to play PvE or WvW to get their 5.
Which all goes to prove the point that the majority of posters on this thread have been trying to get across to Anet:
Give us back all our options, and keep the 10 achieve point cap.
Win win for everyone.
People were whining the achievements were to easy and it wasn’t a judgment of how good a player was. People would get the achievements without even realizing they did. I like the achievement system this way.

kitten i miss FoW DoA and underworld
The 6 God’s left the world, so why would you have either……
Is Factions main theme more Chinese, Japanese or Korean sounding, just wondering.
A mix – Tengu are Japanese, for example. The problem is China, Japan and Korea are all have tension and people do not want to upset any of them.

It’s just absolutely ridiculous they can’t make all these amazing backpacks tradable.
The Balth backpiece is from PvP – of course it shouldn’t be tradable. It is an achievement reward.
Reward tracks were made for PvP players to get some extra profit from playing, I don’t see why it shouldn’t be tradeable, also it is NOT an achievement reward, it’s a “track” reward
Because it is a REWARD for that track – plain and simple.
There are plenty of other items that can be traded.
I would like to see more GW1 armor skins in GW2…..

I don’t think so. Since the server is your guild home world, upgrades can only be applied there. People are already complaining about loss of server identity and this suggestion would make it worse.
GW1 did not have build freedom. So many of the skills were just useless or so situational be useless.
People are remembering GW1 fondly but with a revisionist eye – GW1 was even more narrow unless you did Alliance Battles or Jade Quarry.
It is your internet connection…..
I’m pretty sure it’s called the Jeweled staff. I know there’s a karam merchant that sells the water trident of that same exact skin and it’s called Jeweled trident. It’s the karma merchant in Desla Platu by a heart that’s near water.(forgot the exact details. I think it was Black Water something.)
As for staff, not sure, but again, pretty sure there’s one of the same skin called Jeweled staff.
That is a Trident not a staff.
Sorry, no as EotM is a cross between PvE and WvW. Don’t like it don’t play.
Deathwish is a good skin as is Final Rest for a necro staff.
I still wish they would bring in the GW1 skull staffs for necros…….
Over 50 as well. First MMO was UO beta. Second was City of Heroes until NCSOFT killed it.
NCSoft didn’t kill it, Cryptic Studios did it themselves. NCSoft just put it out of it’s misery.
I’m over 40. I’ve found that you just naturally gravitate to being with players your own age. Even b4 you voice chat with them or do anything that would give age away you just sort of end up with the other oldies.
BTW as I get older my fine motor skills are getting worse making jumping puzzles harder and harder. I feel like paying a neighborhood 12yo to come over and do them for me.
I’m so glad it isn’t just me flailing about in the jumping puzzles…… I call in my son who finds it hilarious that I’m so useless!!
Btw this whole thread is just a joy to me ….I’m not alone…..there are other parents who have to stop mid game to deal with family issues… normally separate fighting kids in my case!
My wife and I are dealing with her mother who is in poor health and has memory loss. It is hard sometimes to even play when I have to be a care giver.
None of this crap makes any sense. There is Pandaria, Age of Wusu, Silk Road, Blade and Soul and a whole host of F2P Asian themed titles for which there is no public outrage. Pick one Asian style and stick with it, if that’s the issue. Something doesn’t add up here.
Create the continent in the style of Zephyr Sanctum even.
None of that matters, are any of those games NCSoft games besides Blade and Soul, which is a martial arts/anime-based game.
What about the big stink that occurred when TERA was released in the NA/EU market? There was one race, the ELIN which people were up in arms about because people stated that only pedophiles would play that race because of the underwear showing on a character that looked like a little girl. There are different sensibilities on each side and one really does not have all the information – it is all conjecture right now.
If it bothers NCSoft, A.Net has to pay attention to it.
God people do y’all want some cheese with all the whining?
In GW1, they ALWAYS brought back festivals year after year and players did look forward to it. The same should be now – this was a fun part of the game and I am looking forward to it.
I am over 50 and have played many games, all computer games, although I did have the original pong console!!
NO TO GEAR CHECKS – it would make the game snobby – that is how it was in Rift and TERA.
Indeed, housing is stupid. Give the players the options to build towns and allow the towns to wage war with each others. =)
You can’t in a THEMEPARK game – Sandbox yes. ArcheAge is what you want.
Abandon Ware? Sure seems like it lately.
Youse guys are funny. ONLY 7 weeks and you complain…..
If they were on an expansion model, no problem. But their model is to give small content updates every two weeks.
And abandonware is actually a really good description for large portions of the game (dungeons, WvW, for example).
No – they said they were modifying that. Please read developers blogs – you would know what is going on.
Lol, that is where I got it from…the API sub-forum. The thread in question talks about acceptable overlays for GW2, though.
Yes – but did you look at the last posting date in that thread? 2 months ago. April 15th was the API change due to the megaserver roll out.
No to Legendary Armor – they said that Ascended would be it.
Abandon Ware? Sure seems like it lately.

We already have a home instance. You can add mining nodes to it, etc. They may make it so you can modify/change that but a regular house, probably not.
There is your housing people. All your toons share all the Home Instances in each Race City. They are linked, like you are to your server.
As was said, sound is the last thing you add. It is no big deal.

Not sure…perhaps this one?: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/api/List-of-apps-websites-using-the-API/page/3#post2777762
The API has changed, since the mega-servers were released. This should be in the API part of the forum.

First, change your password now.
Then, do you use a common password?
I would change your email away from yahoo. If they got your email account name (Yahoo did have a breach a while back), then they can just guess – that is probably what they did.
I have had no issues – I can get it done every day. No big deal to me.
Hey, that’s great. But it’s not really the issue here. Of course you can get it done, but why make it harder than it used to be? Why make a change that makes the game worse? This is what puzzles me.
Why should it be kitteny, either? It is not hard at all now and before you could do it blindfolded.
People are always complaining this game is too easy and then they change something to make one work a little, people complain also.
…to have a shot at getting two of the Mist-forged Hero weapons? I am just getting back into the game after a very long break, and there are a couple of these I really like. Being that the tournament is winding down I’m not sure that acquiring these is a possibility for me. How much WvW participation would it take for me to farm the 600 tickets it would take to pick up two of these bad boys?
The tickets are based on your server and where they are in the WvW tournament. I am not sure you will get any now. You had have participated from the beginning, I think.
I have had no issues – I can get it done every day. No big deal to me.
These sigils do have there place but are very area specific. GW1 had the same thing.
I love this game, I have had a lot of fun in it. I don’t want to see it slip to the bottom.. but I do feel that it is slipping. It’s almost 2 years old and many features that should have been there from the start are still not here. The wardrobe system is a great new addition to the game but it highlighted that half or more of the skins in the game were added through the gem store and not the ACTUAL game, tucked behind a pay wall. Then others are restricted to me due to race. The latter is acceptable but the former is not.
There is little to do in the game. Players need things to aspire towards; players need character progression. Not only is there a limited amount of skins to get per armor weight but there is no way to progress your character. The world is so big yet there are only 3 factions in the game outside of the race cities in general and being a member of that faction means nothing and offers nearly nothing. There are no missions outside of the personal story that are offered, no reputation standing to be gained or tiers of armor or weapons that can be unlocked with your standing with the faction. Having only 3 factions like this makes the game feel small.
The story and lore feels missing. 200 years have passed but little history is told or seen besides the ruins to most people I think. Right now it feels like the story and lore in GW2 is not in GW2 at all, but rather just the wiki. That’s too bad.
Just some laments from a passionate player.
Did you read the 3 novels that A.Net had published? It told the story between GW1 and GW2. The story is there – people just want it spoon fed to them.
I bought all the order armour and weapon skins to unlock them in wardrobe, and then proceeded to destroy them. I couldn’t even vendor them back for a few silvers, let alone salvage or forge them.
You can put them in the forge…..they no not what they are talking about.
The replies stating that it’s the cost that’s too high fit in with what I’m saying; the effort required to get these is absolutely insane, especially when you consider the fact that each set has its own required creation for different stat groups.
Legendaries make more sense than this, since at least with those you basically unlock every stat combo you want, instead of grinding and grinding for different sets.
Ascended is armor for a specific purpose. Go ahead and try a level 40 fractal w/o it and the Agony Resist. That is why it costs, specific purpose = more cost.
