Things have been datamined. I can send you a few lines I’ve found in the .dat if you want a proof.
Anyway, dataminers never spoil the story on reddit.
Yes, please.
Looks like a load of Karka kittens to me. They aren’t ‘spoiling’ it because they haven’t actually data-mined anything.
And yet there was one kitten that actually DID spoil it and there were quite a bit of stuff there (didn’t read it myself, but did read the comments).
I read through the entire thing. I saw only conjecture and trolling. There was no proof that anything had been datamined.
Time In Hell
I float in time with open mind…
A quest, a chance of riddled thought:
Infinity squared; then seek to find
An answer; pained and overwrought,
I dodder with an addled head -
Befuddled, merging with a haze of
Mysticism -
Then to tread a metaphoric swamp -
A maze of existentialism…
But now for time to tick in rhyme
With ‘tock’ – a clock to tell thro’ chime
Precisely on the knell
That as I dared to understand,
I must be deep in Hell…

Time
Time will come, time will go
Time shall reap, that time has sown
Time comes slowly, time goes fast
Time will linger, time outlasts
Time sees all, time knows best
Time remembers, time never forgets
Time will hide, time will reveal
Time will open, time will seal
Time brings hope, time brings fear
Time brings distance, time draws near
Time will help, time will hinder
Time will shine, time turns to cinder
We forget about time, yet it’s all we would know
In time, there is everything, and time will show
The important messages in the poem are:
- Your world is built on fog and sand
- It’s time for Scarlet to have her fun
- And warm her hands over Kryta’s flames!Who is Scarlet? ??
What does “fog and sand” represent?
Over Kryta’s flames?burning out all Kryta ( DR, Queensdale, Kessex Hills) and transforming it into a smoke (“fog”) and ruins? (“sand”). Nuke attack?
*fog of war ….or the mists
*sands of time
It’s not an eagle, it’s a falcon. ; )
http://www.guildwars2guru.com/news/1220-watch-out-for-scarlet-on-august-20th/
Tick tock goes the clock
It’s almost time for time to stop
Something you all must understand
Your world is built on fog and sandYou’re out of time, your jig is done
It’s time for Scarlet to have her fun
She has some hard lessons to teach
To the people of Divinity’s ReachSo mark the date in permanent ink
The hour is later than you think
On the twentieth day she’ll start her games
And warm her hands over Kryta’s flames!Anyone else find it wierd that the poem talks about time a lot, and the GW profession that was gonna be released in ‘utopia’ before GW2 was made was the ‘chronomancer’? (time-mage/warrior)
In-fact; maybe scarlet is a chronomancer? hence all the teleporting around the arena at the openning ceremony, and all the high tech equipment the aetherblades have.

It’s obvious isn’t it? Green, black and red graffiti, a pocketwatch and a poem (riddle), Scarlet and Mr. E.
The Joker (Scarlet = ‘Red Hood’ Detective Comics #168, Feb. 1951) and the Riddler (Mr. E = Edward Nigma ) have joined forces!
I just read the post on guru… THIS IS AMAZING!!! way to go ANET. i literally am giddy with joy thinking about this mystery. This is even better than the hunt for final rest (which kinda turned out anti-climactic anyway) This is the stuff that RPGs are built on. Great stories and mysteries that haunt your conscious mind, all day and night until they are solved. I kittening love this game
What are you going on about? What mystery?
This is probably the worst event ever. I have full ascended ele and thief and there’s no freaking way I can kill her….. kittening mobs chasing you all the time. If they touch you, you are dead. Portals pulling you all the time if u dont destroy them. Instant death storm coming out of sky and kittening timer set to kill her… And I don’t even have to say anything about that camera…. ArenaNET you really screwed up with this one.
Use your thief and use a shortbow.
Cluster bomb will kill the orbs. You can use auto attacks to kill her. Use shortbow 3 to cripple her when she gets close. Dodge her lunges and keep running in a circle near the center of the room.
Your welcome.
And what’s your strategy for Thief vs Treenado Lady?
Looks like a load of Karka kittens to me. They aren’t ‘spoiling’ it because they haven’t actually data-mined anything.
Find a trustable friend or a stranger to do it for you. Then you can still be in this club while getting all the rewards.
Trust is a four letter word. The letter ‘T’ just repeats itself for emphasis.
Anyways, I don’t much care for rewards. I’m not used to getting them so I imagine that if I did, it would probably kill the immersion for me.
I gave up at the tornado lady.
Snaff is stuck in 1885.
Lion’s Arch was demolished by a 50 foot tall holographic woman.
Queen Jennah is a killer android sent from the future, by Aethernet, to kill Logan Thackeray.
Evil Future Zojja is behind the Steam Mech invasion.
Livia (aka ‘Scarlet’) has come out of hiding and raised Orr to use Zhaitan as a tool to stop Zojja, Aethernet, Jennah and Holo-Kiel and to rescue Snaff from a certain death at the hands of ‘Mad Karka’ Kasmeer. But you ruined it, all of you. You just had to kill an undead Elder Dragon that wasn’t harming anyone. He was only trying to help.
Now Scarlet will turn all of you into undead. It’s the only way she can defeat Aethernet and Future Zojja. I hope you are happy.
Are people forgetting about the chick in the entrance story of Jubilee…
The story is so nonexistent that I have to look at the achievement panel to remember what I have done and what I have yet to do. I got the mailbox quest for Jubilee, went to Divinity’s Reach and it’s all just a blur from there. I remember lighting fires to get a perma-torch.
“I’ll be back!”
Seems a very lackluster attempt to tie together an incongruent series of living story updates. “…because time travel!”
I don’t understand the appeal of the TR fractal.
Wooden Potatoes lays it all out, and kitten… this could seriously rock our pants off.
So much for those dismissing this fractal as “just another asura lab accident.”
Also, now I wish I had taken the Inifnity Ball in my backstory instead of the stupid weather-control device.
I don’t get it. I watched the entire video and still it comes off as “just another asura lab accident.” I don’t understand the appeal.
Zojja: [narrating] Three hundred and something lives ended on that day, 256, 1326AE. The survivors of the Queen’s Jubilee called the war ‘Judgement Day’. They lived only to face a new nightmare: the war against the machines. The computer which controlled the machines, ‘ArenaNet’, sent two Watchknights back through time. Their mission: to destroy the leader of the human resistance, Logan Thackeray. The first Watchknight was programmed to strike at me in the year 1320AE, before Logan could run from Kralkatorrik. It failed. The second was set to strike at Logan himself when he was at the Queen’s Jubilee. As before, the resistance was able to send a lone warrior, a protector for Logan. It was just a question of which one of them would reach him first.
….
Queen Jennah: ‘Come with me if you want to live.’
….
Zojja: [narrating] Watching Logan with the machine, it was suddenly so clear. The Watchknight would never stop. It would never leave him, and it would never hurt him, never shout at him, or get drunk and hit him, or say it was too busy to spend time with him. It would always be there. And it would die, to protect him. Of all the would-be suitors who came and went over the years, this thing, this machine, was the only one who measured up. In an insane world, it was the sanest choice.
I hate Steampunk.
I hate sci-fi (Well, in this game anyway. Not in general)
I want Medieval/Norse fantasy, as was presented in the original Guild Wars. Guild Wars 2 feels like ‘Land of the Lost’ ….past, present and future all wrapped up into some sort of temporal, 7-layer burrito. It feels wrong…like getting ‘Gobots’ for Christmas instead of ‘Transformers’ ,you know?
(edited by Elbegast.6970)
The speach contains a surprise. I think it’s positive that Anet “hides” some of the information about what will happen, to create some curiousity.
Not to forget there will be a meta achievement – so there HAS to be more than just a speech – would be a senseless meta if you get it simply by listening to the speach.
Me, myself and I are going to wage a battle at Divinity’s Reach. I’ve already told myself about it.
If there were a ‘Slayer of Worlds’ title, I might wear it. I don’t wear titles. None of them look cool enough.

It’s kind of strange but I don’t really care what she has to say. We went from Elder Dragons to mole-people,refugees,crabs,pirates,merchants,politics,anniversary parties and now speeches. ArenaNet lost my interest somewhere after ‘Elder Dragons’.
Who voted for Ellen Kiel/Who voted against Evon Gnashblade:
1. Kiel is a woman. Feminists(to not say most women) will vote for Kiel.
2. Kiel is a woman. (many)Men voted for boobs.
3. Kiel is a human. See “most GW2 played race”.
4. Evon is a charr. Throughout GW1, Gwen has taught us 7 years worth of hating charrs.
5. Kiel is good. Regardless of your opinion on the matter, good will eventually prevail.
6. Evon is greedy. Greedy pig vs Good bunnycop, obvious choice.
7. Kiel offered reduced Waypoints. A game mechanic that everyone uses.
8. Evon offered reduced Keys. MANY players boycott the RNG portion of BLTC.
9. Kiel offered a NEW fractal. Something NEW that nobody knows anything about.
10. Evon offered Abaddon fractal. Something whose results are already known.9&10: would you rather watch the NEW soccer world cup or the 1998 soccer world cup whose results you already know? Admittedly the 1998 soccer world cup had some amazing action, even if the 1998 soccer world cup was in HD, you know the answer to this question.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Thaumanova_Reactor
Yes, the Thaumanova Reactor is NEW, not some old asuran experiment gone wrong.Arguably, a lot of GW1 fans voted for Evon for the sole reason that they wanted the Abaddon fractal. Thus stating that the only good thing that Evon had up his sleeve was the Abaddon fractal. Meaning that many GW1 fans did not really want to vote for Evon, but really voted for the fractal. If Kiel had proposed Abaddon and Evon had proposed the new reactor, Evon would have been crushed by a very large margin.
Evon was destined to lose.
Even the subliminal anagrams were in favor of Ellen Kiel.
Ellen Kiel = Like Ellen
Evon Gnashblade = Banned Vale Hogs, Helve No Sandbag, Nabs Gold Heaven, Bad Gonna Shelve, etc.
You don’t even need stealth to annoy people.
A wonderful example of the largest problem of all, the caliber of players this class attracts to the game in the first place.
Well, I give them a chance. I do like to be sporting about it. Good players destroy me. I haven’t seen many of those lately.

I don’t see anything even remotely interesting about the TR lore. Maybe I’m just not seeing it, idk. I watched the entire video. It’s good but ….more Asura crap? Really?!?! I’m so sick of science fiction. WTB more Dragons and Angry Wizards.
Go for what ever class everyone else seems to be complaining about and desperately wants to be nerfed. It seems to be Thief at the moment.
That has nothing to do with conditions or even the general subject of power level. In it’s current state the thief is able to place their opponent in zero-counterplay situations at will, as the only counter to stealth is controlled by the thief himself, and they will never be enjoyable to play against so long as that is true, and people are fully within their rights to complain about anything designed to make the game unenjoyable.
I play a Thief. I find it to be quite enjoyable. You don’t even need stealth to annoy people. With a short bow, you are much like ‘Nightcrawler’ from X-Men, porting instantly, here and there. It’s even more amusing when they think they can run away from you, simply because you are walking rather than running. I like to pop up next to them, strolling and waving, a couple of times before freezin’ em up with my basalisk venom and sending them to cold dark fires from whence they came.

New Mini Game: The Kessex Run
The Kessex Run is an 18-waypoint route used by the Aetherblades to move Piles of Crystalline Dust from Kessex to an area south of Lion’s Arch without getting caught by the Lionguard that are patrolling the movement of dust from Kessex’s mines.
“Quite possibly the Largest and most elaborate mini-game/jumping puzzle/Champion filled, non-instanced, non-soloable, timed, dynamic, player vs player, player-driven event the Guild Wars™ universe has ever seen. Look at all the people whining about Kiel reusing the dragon bash hologram projector when Evon would have used the same exact thing if he won.
Evon Gnashblade would have built a giant, eternal bonfire in that very spot. It would have been a nice place to sit and roast some Asura over the fire, talking fondly about the searing whilst pointing at the Sylvari across the way and laughing hysterically.
“Quell Surmising”
Three of us want to kick Colin’s dog. Myself and two others should be ashamed of ourselves.
I think an eyepatch suits her. She could also use a long scar down her left brow and cheek.
You have to save it to file and then add it as an attachment using the option below your edit box.
Next content patch adds an eyepatch to Holo-Kiel. I think we all know where this is going…
The zerg below the gauntlet wasn’t well thought out. $400 video cards are on their knees, begging for a tall glass of ice-water, during primetime.
The gauntlet walkway, above, has no waypoint. It makes running back extremely annoying. I started having flashbacks of Blackrock Depths after about the third attempt on the Tornado Lady so I left and haven’t been back.
LOL, the Kiel holo shows how full of herself she is! Typical politician…

Ellen Kiel is going to create a global Police State under her control, have fun with that guys.
The invasion of the Aetherblades is a huuuge false flag agenda!! they work for Kiel.
Its all to unite the citizens against one enemy! which keeps they under constant terror.
Everyone will blindly follow Kiel, because it appears that shes the good one, and the Aetherblades are the bad ones!!!!Kiel will setup new Rules and Laws and will slowly reduce our rights to almost nothing.
She already build many secret “Camps” for a huge numbers. of ppl, – concentration camps. So probably there will be a bigger false flag “Event”, this Event will create a national “crisis” That Crisis will destroy the natural, usual rights we have for the “matter of security” and all citizen wil be transportet in those camps, to “secure them”
And voila! a dictatorship was created, in which everyone who just think something “wrong” will be executed…in the meaning o security!GG
I’m going to Maguuma to convert the remnants of an abandoned Asuran underground laboratory into a bug out shelter. I have full stacks of Seed Pods, Charr Mines and an Ogre Pet Whistle for everyone.
‘There is a storm on the horizon. A time of hardship and pain. The battle has been won, but the war against Kiel rages on. The Aetherblade’s global network remains strong, but we will not quit, until all of it’s destroyed. This is Logan Thackeray. There is no fate but what we make.’ – Logan Thackeray, 1326AE
Repeating one simple task multiple times is very very bad.
Unless that task was to man the ‘Asuran Chain Destruction Cannon – Model B – SDE1990’ to call thunder and lightning down upon 30 Aetherblade ships during the real-time balloon flight to Divinity’s Reach.
You forgot the music:
This thread is absolutely ridiculous. The token selling obviously wasn’t intended for players stockpiling tokens, it was for the leftovers. If there was an adverse effect because of stockpilers, so be it – it wasn’t malicious.
You used your tokens for their intended purpose – voting. It’s not like you had a choice for these tokens to drop or not; everyone got them. If someone didn’t want to participate in the event then oh well, it is what it is.
People will complain about anything, geez.
I didn’t cast any votes. I vendored my tokens for 14g after the event. I have to agree with Gnat.9405 , though.
I could have made far more gold if I were to sell the votes during the event for the going rate of 10 votes per 1g. As it stand, the vendor value is only ~1/10th of that. By saving them, I made far, far less gold.
But since ArenaNet didn’t even count the votes, I saw no reason to leech gold from the community…. =P
They are pirates. Pirates are the villain one resorts to when one cannot create a unique and compelling antagonist. I blame the Errol Flynn fanboys.
Almost all I do is aimlessly walk around the open world. I don’t know what you people are talking about. The only stupid pirate ships I see are for the balloon chest event.
Before the game world felt like it was only in dimensions. These last few updates are change that. By adding action in the sky. The game will have much more of 3d feel.
Future updated will should more complicated things in the air.
But is that what you are talking about…the pirate ship that shows up for the balloon chest event?
…or did they add something else that I am just not seeing?
