The amount of Points you need to rank up is fine (evekitten0k from 70 to 80).
The problem is you have not any option of progressive ranking. Compare it to GW1, it’s not about cosmetics at all.
It’s not the amount, it’s the way you can farm it that is ridicoulous.
As in this game rank is pretty much meaningless, who the hell cares about having an emote to show how long you farmed hotjoin? You do know those to things go hand in hand right?
So why complain about the amount to rank up then?
That’s no problem at all.

Here is a video Guide from a top guard EU.
Today I bought 2 times a Primeval Armor Skin for 500 Gems.
Till now I received nothing. Is this a delay or a bug?
Today I changed some Gold into Gems to buy the Primeval Armor Skin for 500 Gems.
Sadly I received nothing when I bought it.
Could this be a delay or is something not working?
@players without a clue.
Comparing two different games is not working. Even when they have the same modes.
It’s not a question about the games themselves, it’s the question of what people want to play. If you missed the general consensus on this issue, the majority wants a proper solo queue in this game as well.
Because all the competitive players have allrdy left. Well done!

I would say suldaris. Just because the best players have left this game.
Why not close PvP and get all the pvp players into rata sum?
It’s not a big deal to move out the 50 ppls left there.
If game-devs of another concern would read this forums, they’d prolly laugh at how the playerbase suggest so much flawless pvp content and A-Net is incapable of benefit from it.
…I don’t hate solo-q’ers or want to single them out, but ANet shouldn’t focus on them first, because those Aspects of a game don’t make it an e-Sport or help a potential competetive Community to grow …
If you didn’t know until now “e-sports” and community are built upon the casual players and most of them want this game to have a proper solo queue. Or maybe you thought that all of the people watching streams are “pros”. None of the today’s big “e-sport” games would have had such success if they didn’t have solo queue. It’s the most popular option and it always will be. The satisfaction of the casuals is very important, because they are the majority and they are the ones who help the game grow as a whole.
I summarize for you: The “pros” need casual players as much as casuals need “pros”.
But a soloq is not the core in a game. GW1 had also casuals playing GvG and HA (about 80%). It isn’t that hard to form a team if you have enough players, who want to play.
It was the same in the first month of GW2, where all ppl formed guilds to play in a core-team (even casuals). So you see it works. You don’t need a soloq. You need a good system where titles mean something, where rank means something. And not hotjoin and soloq, where it just matters how long you play and not how good you are.
Agree on lots of stuff. Mabye to add:
If hotjoin weren’t in the game, it would be good. Because then you force ppl, instead of brainless hotjoin zerging (where you get more rewarded then in tpvp), into real competition.
If you want to get title and rank-up, you need to win. Ergo: ppl will form guild-teams to be able of ranking up, ergo: Competition is high (PvP without competition is never working). It’s not a genius required to see that the concept of hotjoin / tournament and the rank-progression isn’t working at all.
Not only do PvE play the bills and sustain the game and can be monetize. PvPers tend to be less loyal and more likely to easily move from one thing to another faster than a PvEer will do. GW1 had everything PvPers would want, however that did not prevent it’s inevitable decline. So it makes little sense to dedicate a lot of resources to a game mode that is less monetize AND significantly less loyal.
I am pretty amazed at the new PvE thing though, it looks interesting. Not interesting enough to get me to log in after 3 months, but amazing nonetheless.
It begs the question why would you bother hanging around a forum of a game you don’t play?
I always found that amazing…in a kind of sad way why people do that.
Guild wars 1 lacked proper solo play support. The vast majority of pvpers play solo.
It’s a miracle gw1 did as well as it did with that being the case.
Actually GW1 was that successfull because you had no solo Q (except RA). They generated a good reward and title-system that forced you into team/guild forming.
Imagine GW1 would have solo q in HA. This would result in less competition and based on that easier to get a higher rank. The high competition was the reason why so many ppl were ambitious. GW2 is for sure a complete other design, where solo q is necessary.
This topic really asked to get flamed. I hope you got by now, why dodging shouldn’t be handled like invulnerability. Did you seen how conquest works? Decapping is twice as fast as capping a node…
If you go tournament then yes. You can “Create Roster” and “Invite Party”. Then your brother gets a pop-up where he can accept your invite. Now you can submit and enter together when the match pops.
In hotjoin obviously cou can’t. It puts you ranomly in the teams.
You wanna point out that BM do a lot of dm? Confirmed
If you see A-Net is not capable to implement such easy features than leave the game or again, just for you my son, form a team. But thank you for your second useless post in this thread.
I still see topteams playing thief really effective. So I’m not sure what’s the matter. They are nearly the same as before the patch.
what about the ascended aqua helm?
If you have complaints with soloqueing because a-net can’t seperate soloquers and premades, then go form a grp. If don’t want to then the result is this useless forum post.
…the ONLY viable classes in the game to be competitive with other teams that will “win at all costs”. And yes – winning at all costs will mean FOUR eles (if not five) and a guardian.
It just gets worse for you right now.
400 to 500 and you crying?
I main thief and.. honestly.. how can you say thief is bad? lol
Let’s talk again we you’ll meet the first 4 eles+ guardian team.
I think I can read.
MS Outlook helps!
You heard about the old UWSC with 8 assassins? that was a lot worse. This is a little issue where you just too lazy to level up a warrior to 80.
Challenge failed!
they have one, it deals kittenty damage at the end
Oh, my mistake. Then make it more viable like removing chill/cripple.
What I miss here is a trait for dodging. As many other classes have it (mesmer=clone, ele=skill based on attunement, guardian = heal, necro= bloodmark …. etc.)
Sadly I’m not enough creative to bring a good suggestion for this.
Thieves, after quickness nerf, are bottom tier, along with the war.
The warrior isn’t viable anymore in pvp. So if the thief is on the same level, you could say it’s not viable anymore too. I hope when you reread it you will agree.
Stop raging .
I understand wars are suffering and are not viable anymore in PvP, but the thief is not THAT better than them.
We’re in the same position, altough i agree wars are worse than thieves right now.
Actual meta pushes towards defense, and without quickness we can’t punish them anymore.
It’s actually you raging about how bad thieves are now. But sometimes, just sometimes it’s the player and not the class that is not viable.
I’m sure Anet will add some classes in the future, they did the same thing twice in GW1.
But it will take a long time, first the current classes need to be balanced. As you only PvE i guess you won’t understand that, but classes in PvP are freaked up balance wise.
Easily fixed, seperate pvp and pve skills/traits. They did the same thing in GW1 and it worked perfectly. They will have to implement that in GW2 because if they don’t, there will never be balance.
Would solve the problem. In the last SOTG A-Net devs said they won’t seperate skillz between PvE and PvP. So you have the solution, but A-Net refuse to implement it.
I’m sorry for the whole playerbase.
We get it, you don’t like eles. Not many people do.
He studied OP-Classes at the university of the Mists. We need more of his informations.

No class needed anymore. We have allrdy enough class-imbalances. As you only PvE i guess you won’t understand that, but classes in PvP are freaked up balance wise.
Take the Signet instead and stop complaining. It’s still a viable class.
The overview is actually frightening. After 7 months we have a 1v1 tournament and fail-join. Pretty sad for 6 years of creating and 7 months in practice.
shiiiat, other players get 10 more laurels than you!!! Report them all to death. I mean with 10 laurels you can buy 20 unid dyes. Whaaaaat???? so many gold incoming, I would feel like dagobert duck!
I’m sick of threads about the warrior. The main spvp questions are not about the warrior. Stop crying, warriors of the world.
Why we should stop!? If i slap in your face on the streets will you just go away xD ?
Ooooh, this made my day!
But seriously, something has to be epicly wrong in a game when a class gets not playable anymore in tPvP just with a debuff on one single utility. Or are we wrong?
Is this a troll?
It just comes after waypoint 18.
t1: ele
t2: guard, ranger
t3: mesmer, engi, necro, thief
———————————————————-
Classes not worth playing: Warrior
Hehe…very appreciated this!
t1: ele
t2: guard, ranger
t3: mesmer, engi, necro, thief
t4: warrior
since the patch warrior should be excluded from this list.
Meh, I played axe/mace warrior with no issues. Sword/shield for 2nd set for added utility and control. I didn’t play at the top level though, but either did 95% of the other people claiming to.
Go duel a great sword dps guardian on your great sword warrior 100 times. You could win 99 of them with nothing but an amulet on.
You’re obviously a terrible guardian. Sidenote: GS is good for hybrid builds and not in any way viable for a full dps guard. A full dps guard brings scepter/torch and sword/focus. Which means imboilize, blind and block. it’s too easy to stay in range.
Now look at GS. That means you wanna get into close-range to every opponent AS A GC. That makes not any sense.
PS: if you loose as a guard to a warrior you should stop playing guardian and go ele instead.
I think this is the case of nearly all issues. Seems like 3 ppl can’t develop PvP alone.
Good decision! Even when I liked 3-round tournaments where you had different maps each round instead the same one.
Nothing changed. Just the rare warriors dissapeared completely by now.
You can’t take this thread serious anymore. I mean every class will change in upcoming patches, can be this year, can be next year. What Jon is saying is like the rest we can read from them, which in every text you see the words “soon”, “upcoming”, “we take a look at it”, We are working on it", “we release it when it’s done”, “we can’t say when, but it definitely will be done” etc.
Oh hey this thread got moved to the warr subforums
There goes any remote chance whatsoever it’s getting read by anet because all they expect out of this subforums are people patting each other on the back about their 27-32k 100blades damage
I do more than 32k damage. That means I’m the better player!
How about no???
