You do realize that you don’t need to have the stuff in your actual inventory right? Discoveries draw directly from your collection bank and have for quite a while.

It’s around 100 Intermediates – those that cannot be stored in the collection bank. And according spending money – I would have done if it only had been possible. But it wasn’t, all my attemps ended with an error code. Thus, no gems for me.

You can use them from your bank, as with all discoveries. If you were receiving an error when you tried to do that, you should try again and report that error if it persists.

Also, if they’re making doubloon changes, they should add slots for them to the gems part of collectable storage too.

They don’t need to fix the recipe, they need to fix silver and gold doubloons. Right now gold doubloons are the only ones you can transmogrify, so the first step would be to add transmogrification recipes for silver and platinum doubloons. Also, silver and gold provide the same stat increase (+2% magic find) while gold requires a higher level, making it effectively worse where it is supposed to be better. Gold and platinum doubloons should each have their magic find values increased by 1%.

tl;dr:
Quick fix:
1. Add Transmogrify Silver Doubloon and Transmogrify Platinum Doubloon recipes to Jeweler.
2. Increase Gold Doubloon magic find to 3% and Platinum Doubloon magic find to 4%.

Speak for yourself. You should consider that maybe he isn’t so insecure that he needs to wave his weapon in your face all the time and get your approval to make himself feel good. If he likes it, then its the right choice for him.

It’s best to think of both types of experience as being the same thing, just filling up two progress bars at different rates. When you critical or use a booster, you’re increasing the rate at which you gain crafting experience, which in turn increases the rate at which you gain regular experience, but you’re still limited to the same total experience from that crafting discipline.

My solution to this is to sell the one you have and buy the one you want. The price difference generally isn’t too great (unless what you want has a rare/popular superior rune/sigil), plus its quick and easy.

I think queuing to change servers is a great idea. (Player for player swapping, not so much.)

On a similar note, “Bag of Gems” has a horribly misleading name.

He’s saying that you don’t have to deposit it all at once. You do have to have it all in your bank at once though.

I completely agree with both of those ideas.

I doubt they would exceed the 250 stack limit, but it would still be really helpful to be able to keep a stack of each type in collectable storage.

Discovering cooking recipes, maybe? There are 100ish different intermediates that need to be stored – because otherwise you’ll never find out what’s missing in your 4th slot. (Except internet study, but that’s less fun.)

I discovered all cooking recipes this way (before passion fruit was added) and only needed the starting backpack and some 8-12 slot bags (with no additional inventory slots). I used 5 or 6 storage panels too until I realized that some of the foods list something like “Chef (125)” at the bottom, indicating that they are not used as an ingredient. You can consume, sell, or move the ones that aren’t used as an ingredient to another character and you won’t need nearly as much space.

With the nerf in loots, making money has become rather difficult. I would rather pretend I didn’t see anything than to report. That will give the company something to compete against.

Loot got a recent buff, not nerf. There’s no reason to support bots and gold sellers unless you personally profit from them, in which case you’re violating the EULA.

The people who talk on the forums are much whinier and much more hardcore than almost anyone I’ve played with in game.

I chat with the other players on my server in main chat and they focus on playing the game and having fun. When I look at the forums, almost everyone is focused on obtaining things rather than doing things, and comparing GW2 to WoW, EVE, or SWTOR.

Most players in game are excited about the monthly events and new updates (including ascended items) while players on the forums rage about them, threaten to quit the game, make claims about how every breathe an Arenanet dev takes has some unexpectedly catastrophic effect on the in-game economy, and write up outlandish conspiracy theories about how Arenanet is planning to steal everyone’s money and ruin their lives with an eternal grind.

If a lot of people want to go back to Cursed Shore to farm, there’s nothing stopping them. The reason people don’t farm it as much as they did is because they didn’t want to farm there and were given other options.

It would be nice to have more variety in skills. I don’t think we should have more at a time, but adding a few weapons to classes that seem like they should be able to use them would be nice. I’d like to see elementalists be able to use torches, rangers able to use rifles, and engineers able to use hammers. Adding a few more utility skills and another elite to each class would also be great.

They intentionally don’t release all of the information to calculate damage, armor, etc to prevent the game from playing like a math test.

I think this is a change that should happen, but it shouldn’t happen any time soon. Many players still have trouble rendering graphics quickly enough, especially in WvW or Lion’s Arch, and it would just drag them down even more if done too soon.

Makeover kits are purely cosmetic, while a class change (or race change) would have a big impact on functionality. You wouldn’t be able to use the same weapons or armor, or learn the same skills or traits. It would still be possible, but you’d have to be willing to have all of your skills, traits, and equipment deleted.

You will be able to make a warrior with your guardian’s name though. There is a kit to change your character name that hasn’t been released yet. Once it is released, you can use that to change your guardian’s name, and then create a warrior with the guardian’s original name. Names are reserved to the account that previously held them for 24 hours, so you won’t be risking anyone else stealing it assuming you create the warrior within that time frame.

They are purposely vague with those descriptions to keep gameplay (especially PvP) from turning into a big mathematical equation, and to ease the learning curve.

I really enjoy crafting. Many people find it fun, and if you don’t, then don’t do it.

You could try looking at them. And if they’re not right in front of you they can ping it and you can preview it.

I’ve seen bots twice today in Dredgehaut Cliffs that seem to only exist for a few seconds at a time before disappearing and reappearing somewhere else a second or two later. Each time, they were gathering from a resource node as soon as they appeared, and disappeared as soon as they finished gathering that node.

Since they disappear so quickly they’re nearly impossible to report. I know this isn’t the place to report bots, but it is the place to report the bug that they seem to be exploiting.

If any class should be able to use rifles it’s rangers.

It would save players (and servers) load time if players could go to any waypoint in Lion’s Arch for free from anywhere. Currently most players get there for free anyway by going through the Heart of the Mists or WvW.

It would even be possible (and more fun) to implement this as a reward. Completing ‘Retribution’ or ‘Victory or Death’ could result in each character being sent a letter of gratitude from the Lionguard, telling the character that they are always welcome in Lion’s Arch and waypoint fees will be waived due to their heroics deeds.

The minipet arena in LA is a planned “activity” (like Keg Brawl) for the future. So I believe you’ll see exactly that.

I think a lot more people would use minipets if they weren’t affected by the “Deposit All Collectables” button. The only reason I don’t keep one with me is because I want to be able to use that feature.

I tried sending potions to 3 of my party members in a dungeon so they could have an extra buff to fight a boss, and had to wait 2 minutes to send the third because I was suppressed for excessive messaging. The suppression is excessive and needs to be adjusted.

How about we make all of the enemies in the game allies for a day too so we can explore everything while we’re at it? But then the people who missed that day would complain so lets make it a whole month.

Sarcasm aside, you should just get the parts of the map you can get to, and check often to see where your server has pushed the line of battle. You might have to wait until WvW resets and your team is a different color or fighting an easier battle, but you’ll find that WvW exploration is actually fairly easy if you take it slow.

PS Make sure to join the battle while you’re there if there’s a big battle nearby. The more players who help out, the more map your server will be able to claim.

I agree, character level requirements don’t make sense on recipes.

Yeah, I ran into that problem when I was 72 and hit Frostgorge Sound, there was a merchant selling level 80 recipes so I bought them all. After I had all of them consuming space in my inventory, I tried to ‘read’ one and BAM! you’re not good enough yet…
So for 8 levels I had to hold onto them because selling them back was a waste of nearly 1g and they were soulbound at the time so I couldn’t even TP them.

I got one of those for my ranger, who is my huntsman and leatherworker. He was level 8 when I got it about a month ago, and level 15 now. I’ve said my goodbyes to that inventory slot.

I’ve been playing since beta, spent a significant amount of time in Queensdale, and never seen that event chain in any state other than “The swamp lies dormant.” My server is Sorrow’s Furnace.

I love the concept, disagree with your suggested implementation though. I’m hoping they add at least 1 new crafting discipline in the first expansion though, and this would be a great idea for one.

Also, I really hope they make siege weapons account-bound. Having to set aside 6 inventory slots on each of my 8 characters is a lot more annoying than simply being able to stack them all together in 6 storage spaces.

This place is only 1 and it is referred to as the cypress forest – 6 trees cypress trees on the same spot., although there are plenty more around.

I can think of one in Malchor’s Leap (on the south side) and one in Straits of Devastation (at the Acolyte of Melandru) off the top of my head, and I think there was another one but I can’t remember where.

I would rather have top-tier gear acquisition be gradual than have everyone reach level 80 and be able to buy everything they want with the money they picked up on the way. If it were like that, many players would stop playing after reaching level 80.

With increased rare drops from the recent patch, and new ways to acquire them (Fractals of the Mists and Southsun Cove), ectos and tier 6 materials are easier to get than ever. They’re simply more expensive on the trading post because of the new surge of people trying to craft legendary weapons (because of increased precursor supply), and the surge of people trying to craft ascended accessories.

Rich ore nodes are fairly rare, and there are slightly more saplings than ore nodes in the game. Overall I think it balances out.

This thread quickly got off topic. The OP has a problem with the difficulty of finding a FotM group at the exact level level that he wants to do, so I don’t understand why people are using this as a place to whine about RNG for ascended rings.

I read every article about FotM leading up to its release and saw nothing that stated or even gave an impression of a system like that. I doubt they’ll implement such a system, but I agree that it is quickly becoming too hard to organize a group for the specific tier that you need because everyone needs a different tier to unlock the next one.

50 ecto for base item, THEN 250 ecto to add 5 agony resist onto it? Not to mention a stack of t6 fine materials. And then, the actual infusion with stats costs you ANOTHER 100 t6 items?

Upgrading to the infused version only gives you 5 vs Agony, which does nothing anywhere except in higher difficulties of Fractals of the Mists. Unless you intend to play high difficulties of FotM, there’s no reason to spend that 250e. And if you do, remember that that extra resistance is a reward for your dedication.

This bug still exists, just happened to me with 4 level 80 masterwork accessories.

Eh, I can see where it would be useful(since I used that in GWs myself) but here I think it would become an issue since then people could log out right before they die in PvP/WvW/PvE and save the hassle of dying; but if they did go with your idea, as long as they made it so we have to be out of battle for X seconds, then I think it’d work fine.

I think they already considered that. If you log out while downed, you’ll be dead when you reappear.

GW2DB still has a lot of data that was accurate at some point during beta, but is no longer accurate. The stats on legendary weapons seem to be one of those cases.

The only statistical difference between legendary weapons and exotic weapons is that legendary weapons will become slightly more powerful to match ascended weapons when those are introduced.

All this would do is create a horrible system of armor discrimination. Not to mention that people who like magic find would just switch armors after they start the dungeon. I’m under the impression that everyone hating on players who use magic find are just looking for something or someone to blame for their own shortcomings.

The purpose to not to ostracize people who wear some MF gear, but to let the team members know what they signing up for. If a person has say 30% MF no problem. If a person has 100%+ MF on a team of 5 it is still manageable. When say two or more people happen to be farming with 100%+ MF then it impact the other members of the team no matter how good you are. Time is a commodity. People should have a right to know if they are able to allocate x amount of time to an event; otherwise, they will avoid public groups or simple avoid doing dungeons. Furthermore, I doubt the GW2 community will need to ostracize people who wear MF gear. When members can see how much MF gear the other members are wearing they will adjust.

So you’d rather spend an extra 10-15 minutes with magic find discrimination than have to deal with the extra 2-3 seconds the person with magic find will cost the dungeon?

Try to run a power/toughness/vitality gear in dungeons, or really anything tanky rather than pure glass cannon or MF, and you will see real difference. A single distraction won’t get you downed; a single small error on your end won’t wipe the team if you’re properly geared.

No matter what gear you’re wearing, if you have a distraction that pulls you away from the computer for 15 seconds, and you’re being targeted, you’re going to die. Having 6% less critical hit damage on the other hand will not get you killed.

On top of that, keep in mind that MF does NOT affect loot from chests and there aren’t that many enemies to kill in dungeons – SE1 before the patches held the record with a whoopin’ total of 9~14 enemies to kill throughout the whole dungeon.

Those numbers are completely unfounded, I’ve seen several paths with 60-80 enemies.

MF also comes with power and cond dmg, but cond dmg sucks hard in PvE and whoever is running MF in WvW deserves a serious kick in the balls.

Condition damage can be great for builds that focus on it. And people running MF in WvW aren’t nearly as bad as the people just there for the exploration, or the jump puzzles, or the people who start gathering carrots in the middle of a fight.

I agree, we’ve known for a while that there will be gear progression, I just hope it will be slow. I don’t even have all exotic or rare gear yet and other people having all exotic hasn’t stopped me from enjoying the game.

1. You picked the most expensive legendary to make.
2. You’re showing sell prices only, and all of those prices are higher than average for those items.
3. You’re assuming that everything that can be bought is bought through the trading post, and none ever drop for you.
4. 330 hours in an MMO is completely normal. Legendary weapons are supposed to be some of the most prestigious things in the game, which should require a certain level of dedication. Even if it takes 330 hours to get one, that can be achieved in 4-5 months playing 2-3 hours/day.

And if they’re so impossible to get, then why do a bunch of people already have them?

So all lodestones drop from either a dungeon in about 4-5 clears you will get 1 or a 00000.1% from a certain elemental mob in the wild. Making farming these for crafting impossible. A-net NC soft failed with Aion in north america because they made the mistake in thinking we like to grind farm like the asian market. We dont mind the farming to a reasonable extent your current Drop% on most end game items is way way to high. Legendary precursors, Lodestones, BLChest. These issues need to be addressed.

Arenanet made a point of making GW2 anti-grind. A higher drop rate of lodestones would encourage people to “grind farm” them as drops. How can you say that the problem is that they assume people like to farm, and the solution is to make people farm more?

If you want to farm for them but don’t want to kill the enemies that drop them, then farm for gold and buy them on TP.

That’s basic supply and demand. They aren’t the rarest (in fact its the only lodestone I’ve had drop) but they are in much higher demand with only a similar supply as the others.

I just played path 3 for the first time last night and I agree that Subject Alpha is overpowered. There is very little strategy in fighting him other than “dodge until you die, respawn at the nearest waypoint and repeat, but don’t let him go more than 10 seconds without taking damage or he’ll gain all of his health back.” I spent 2 instant repair canisters on this single play and only only even used those after my armor was completely broken. A little warning before he crystallizes you and a higher recharge time on his “1-hit-kill stalagmites everywhere” attack would make this dungeon a lot more enjoyable.

I wasn’t playing it for the loot, so I don’t care that there were 6 bosses and only 3 chests, but I did wish there were more waypoints.

What’s even the point of playing a game if you not only want to know what type of enemy in what area you should kill for an item, but the exact build and route that you should mimic? At that point you’ve taken away even that little bit of fun that can be had from farming.
