I know a lot of people are suggesting specific recipes for precursors, but I think making it as simple as that would just make players farm more to get it. If recipes are added for the precursors they should require something new, that isn’t already a part of the legendary creation process. Arenanet claims that legendary weapons should show mastery of all aspects of the game, but so far none of these are a part of the legendary creation process:

• sPvP
• Personal Story completion
• Achievements
• Jump puzzles
• Activities (currently only includes Keg Brawl)

It would be nice to see legendary requirements (aside from world completion) that require players to actually play rather than farm. (And the 500 Badges of honor don’t count because most people who already got them farmed the WvW jump puzzles for them.)

I made at least 7g from crafting last night.

Most crafting isn’t profitable because there is much more supply than demand. The trick is to craft things that are in high demand but not yet in high supply because they require recipes that are purchased with karma.

That’s a perfectly good reason not to get Bifrost. More people should choose weapons that they think look the coolest or match their armor/theme the best rather than just picking whichever ones are the most expensive.

I get oranges all the time; they drop from bags.

Did you try posting it on the TP? If none have been posted before that might explain why it won’t show up in a search.

I’ve been wondering why there are 5 portals in Lion’s Arch that presumably lead to expansions. At one elder dragon per expansion, I thought that was one too many, but now it makes perfect sense. On the other hand I doubt the Sylvari are dragon minions, but I wouldn’t rule out “the nightmare” being related to the final dragon.

each race have a corrupted version … all but one … the sylvari … we have never seen a risen sylvari … or branded sylvari or Icebrood sylvari … that for sure raises a question …. Why ?

This is because their race is so young. No Sylvari were around when Orr sank, none have died of old age yet, none were there when Kralkatorrik created the dragonbrand, and none have gone to worship or (directly) fight Jormag.

It’s likely that the sixth dragon has not yet woken or even suspected to be dead, and therefore isn’t being counted as part of the threat.

One of the devs said here on the forums that they do not drop from any foes.

lackofcheese is right, it’s likely that the ingredients are created from recipes that you already know (such as Bowl of Baker’s Wet Ingredients and Bowl of Baker’s Dry Ingredients). If you have at least 1 of each “collectable” ingredient, and 1 of each result from recipes that already have, you should have no problem discovering what you need.

You clearly haven’t tried any crafting discipline other than armorsmith. I’m also around 200 in armorsmithing because there’s a point just before 200 where there are no new discoveries and only a few expensive recipes will grant you EXP. Yes, that point sucks, and they should add more 175 armorsmithing discoveries to remedy it, but that doesn’t mean the entire crafting mechanic is terrible.

You alse clearly don’t understand basic economics. The GW2 economy is based heavily on the players. A lot of people are crafting things that they don’t need right now to level their crafting disciplines. There are a lot more helms being created than there are Warriors and Guardians to wear them. It’s simple supply and demand. And it is possible to profit from crafting, as I’ve done it as a high level weaponsmith and as a low level leatherworker, you just have to craft things that are in high demand.

Why not? Because WoW didn’t do it that way? Every single review of GW2 that I’ve seen has rejoiced over that feature.

I don’t understand why people keep posting things like this, wondering why the best equipment in the game isn’t being dropped into their laps for little or no effort.

You can get all of those materials on the trading post or reasonable prices, or accumulate them in a reasonably short amount of time just from gathering and salvaging rares while playing in the high level zones.

Excessive inventory space is a luxury in this game, and the rune prices reflect that. Arguing that rune price should increase linearly with bag size makes no sense economically.

On a historical scroll found in Orr:
“Standing before his immortal mother, Grenth claimed his place among the gods. Where his father had fallen, Grenth would rise.”

This seems to imply that Dhuum is Grenth’s father. One of Grenth’s followers is the source that Grenth’s father was a human sculptor. Malchor scupting a statue of Grenth before his time alone with Dwayna makes it impossible for him to be Grenth’s father (unless Grenth has some un-aforementioned power to go back in time). Its possible that there’s a mix-up in the official lore that needs to be sorted out.

PS The source saying that Malchor sculpted Kormir was unofficial, I looked it up a while back. It looks like a fan just made a mistake and people took it for official lore.

You never actually kill Glint. You fend her off when she attacks you for stealing her eggs. When you defeat her she is down, but not out.

I encountered some rich mithril last night that gave me the usual 10.

I agree that it would be nice if we could craft non-statted versions of weapons and armor to help progression. I disagree about the discovery system not working though; I enjoy it and my only suggestion would be to include more discoveries that don’t fall into the usual pattern (excluding Chef).

Cooking has a more pure discovery system, and if you read the threads about bag space and limiting ingredients you’ll see how much people get frustrated by it.

Cooking bag space shouldn’t be an issue anymore since they made it so you can use ingredients that are in your storage. If you need more space, buy another storage panel.

Having some of the ingredients that everyone wants in lower level areas promotes players going back and playing those areas too instead of staying exclusively in the 70-80 zones.

I feel like the people complaining about this are too used to how older MMOs do things. It’s really not that hard to revisit Caledon Forest and harvest some Herb Seedlings for vanilla beans. Going back there at level 80 will even give you experience and drops that scale to your level, and scale you down to make sure the content still provides a challenge. There’s no reason for people to avoid low level zones at as a high level character.

And if you really refuse to leave Orr, you can buy all harvested ingredients on the trading post with the money you get from playing in Orr.

2) Town Clothing -
We have a total of 3 available outfits for town clothing. Why can we not see more made available via karma? Either by recipes for soulbound gear that you can make yourself, or the actual clothing itself? The town clothing system is a good one, a lot of us would love to have better and more themed clothing, making them available through large amounts of karma gives us another reason to gain karma.

Town clothing available as karma rewards is a great idea. I hope they add that in. There aren’t nearly enough choices of available town clothes.

Relax, they’ll probably add new playable races (as well as classes) in the expansions. I’m rooting for Tengu to be playable in the first expansion.

You don’t need all 250 to see if a recipe exists. If you try putting one of each ingredient into the forge and a recipe for those ingredients does exist, it will tell you how many you need of each.

I agree that being able to buy legendary weapons ruins the idea of them being legendary. When I see someone with a legendary weapon I want to think “Wow that person worked hard for that,” not “I bet they bought gems or got rich off an exploit to buy that.”

Am I the only one with the complete opposite experience from the creator of this thread? I was exploring the southern part of Mount Maelstrom for the first time last night and enjoyed plowing through the shadow imps because they were by far the easiest enemies on the map. They have such low max health that they barely had time to react when I attacked them, even when I was fighting 4 at a time.
