Recipes that you can buy are never discoverable.

I think a 1c merchant price for all food that doesn’t already have a price would be a fair way to prevent food from becoming worthless. The same should apply to the account bound ingredients.

Last time I checked it was possible to put soulbound weapons and armor in your bank and move it to another character. Once its on the other character you can put it in the mystic forge even though it is soulbound to a different character. I last did that about a month ago, so its possible that they’ve changed it since then.

I got my first black lion key drop yesterday, after playing every day since launch. Several of my guildies also just got their first black lion key drops in the past week. If anything, key drop rates seem to have gone up after Halloween.

Just like in Guild Wars 1, when I press F12 I’m prompted with the question “Are you sure you want to log out?” and the three options of “Log Out”, “Character Select”, or “Cancel”. But unlike Guild Wars 1, there aren’t hotkeys corresponding to those options. Please add those hotkeys to this game, they were very useful to those of us that switch characters often.

Why? The cursor doesn’t move when you look around with the right mouse click, so there’s no need for it to be there blocking your view.

This would also destroy “Main” chat and exploration.

Just pretend portals are the borders, and the load times are to check your paperwork to let you pass.

Go to Options [F11] and select the Graphics tab. Go to interface size and choose something smaller.

Note that this will affect your entire interface (which is likely a change that you’ll embrace at that interface anyway).

Hey guys, just made my Opal Orichalcum Amulet of the Explorer (Exotic) and I’ve to say that I’m kind of disapointed…. It is (by today’s market) something like 3 times more expensive then a Opal Mithril Amulet of the Explorer (Rare) and the realy ‘big’ improvement is 1% Magic Find/10 Pow/+10 Prec.

That’s a fairly relevant difference in stats. Also, the market prices depend on supply and demand, which means that other players find that difference to be worth paying 3x as much.

The name being grey means that that player is marked as invisible. It sounds like you’ve been hacked.

Two things people need to know:

1. If you’ve bought in-game gold or items from any source other than the game store, your account could be compromised, and used by a bot in your off hours (often to advertise the seller that you bought from).

2. Running a macro isn’t the only way to be considered a bot. Arenanet has stated that any method that allows you to “play” without an actual person interacting can be considered botting. This includes setting down engineer turrets and going afk while they kill enemies for you.

I agree with pretty much everyone here (except the OP), having max gear shouldn’t be a grind and your stats at level 80 shouldn’t depend on how much time you’ve spent farming.

I have a level 80 character running the explore dungeons for past few weeks. The goal obviously is trying to get the better gears. But after I have farmed enough AC tokens to get the whole armor sets and weapons I desire to use, I find myself wondering what’s next for me. I have no reason to try to farm other dungeons any longer, since they all give out same stats of armor sets, only with different look to it. My friends has also stopped running explore dungeons because there isn’t better armors and weapons to farm in the game.

So the only thing you want to do is farm for better stats? Nothing else? Not even try having fun? Those dungeons could be amazing and memorable for all you know, but you won’t go near them if they won’t give you better stats? What’s the point of having better stats if the only thing you’d even use them for is to farm for even better stats?

That seems ridiculous to me. GW2 is a game, it’s for playing. If you’re looking for repetitive work there are plenty of employers that would love to hire you.

Mad Memoires: Complete Edition actually lights things up really well and any class can wear it.

I doubt you’ll ever be able to change race, since so much depends on race, not just appearance. You would have to completely remake your appearance, and reset your personal story. Then you have the problem of personal story rewards that you’ve already. And what do you do with racial skills that you’ve unlocked? And racial armor?

I think it would be much better for you to just remember that your character is in the middle of the screen.

I was JUST thinking how cool a “Listen to the music in your head…DANCE!” ringtone would be for text messages!

It would be cool to be able to stack harvesting tool uses (not just Black Lion ones) up to 250 or something.

The .1% instead of 1% seems to be a bug. I think it would be well balanced if they would just fix that.

This could work for dailies but sort of defeats the concept of daily achievements. This would not work for monthlies, which change for each specific month.

No, assuming you mean “pile” as in “Pile of Shimmering Dust” then that is just part of the item name.

Bind on Acquire is a terrible idea, and so is making the recipes cheap enough for everyone to have as many Halloween weapon skins as they want.

The reason they’re cheap right now is because they were a rare drop from the Ascent to Madness chest. You have to keep in mind that that chest is only available for 2 days of the year. Prices for these weapons are going to quickly approach the cost of the materials because the only new supply for the next year will come from crafting, while demand will remain.

It would be nice if the tower put you in your own instance. At least then people would stop blaming the norn and charr around them for their own shortcomings, and more importantly, we wouldn’t have to wait for everyone to finish in order to start again.

Yes the tower is extremely frustrating, but if you don’t find it fun then don’t do it. I’m glad it’s not a handout, and its completion is not required for any other part of the event.

The sooner this junk is removed from the game the better. Hopefully there won’t ever be such a frustrating “money-pit” event released like this ever again. All players, including ones that just created their first account, should be able to obtain all items within a good 4-5 hours without having farm gold prior to the event.

100% completely DISAGREE. If everyone could get everything in 4-5 hours, everything would be worthless. It’s nice that there are some items like that (candy corn, devil horns, strawberry ghosts, etc) but its also nice that there are some items that really take some effort (or some really great luck) to get. I’ve really enjoyed the Halloween festivities and wish they would stay longer.

If Angry Birds can have plushies and stuff in every store, why not Guild Wars 2?

They’ll continue to go down. The intended price per candy corn is 4c, as shown by the NPC in LA selling temporary weapon skins for either 150 candy corn or 6s.

6s = 600c.
600c / 150 candy corn = 4c / candy corn

I sold hundreds of them for over 50c each near the beginning of the event. Why would I hold onto them when I can use a fifth of the money I made then to buy back the same amount now?

Halloween isn’t entirely about having a bow that looks like a spider and nothing else. It’s about having fun. Do the quests, try out the haunted doors, play costume brawl, mine for candy corn, try out the new jump puzzles and dungeons (once they’re added in the next few days), join everyone in Lion’s Arch for the finale event with Mad King Thorn, and just have fun.

Before everyone rushes to pat them on the back, you should wait and see if the drop rate has been increased. Notice they still havnt given that info out. If these chest only have a 1% increased chance to drop the rare skins then someone needs to lose their job. A designer most likly not a dev. Poor devs just have to do what the idiot designers cook up.

I hope the rare skins are still rare, because otherwise everyone will have one and they won’t be any more special than the most commons skins anymore.

People were fine with gambling for rare items in GW1. Now that they can see each other whining about it on official forums, they all seem to feel entitled to all rare items with no gambling and little effort.

I encountered about 6 doors last night and none of them were able to close. I wasn’t sure if it was a bug or not. Glad it was fixed though, there were some mean fields full of skeletons forming in Gendaran Fields.

I agree, that little click and drag button took me at least 5x as long to get anything done when trying to craft multiples. I gave up on that and tried typing it in, but it wouldn’t accept the numbers I entered and I ended up crafting them 1 at a time.

Please bring back the old interface.

Why do so many people on these forums feel entitled to immediately own every item that gets added to the game, no matter how rare?

I’m glad there are rare items. If everyone had everything then no one would be able to stand out and no one would even care about appearance (effectively making all skins and dyes worthless).

I disagree with this suggestion. There’s already a 10% tax and a 5% listing fee. If someone can make a profit off of flipping good for them.

For a bunch of “needed game improvements” these seem very unbalanced; I disagree with all of them.

SieNeSti, you’re right, that’s a pretty big difference. I don’t think there’s anything Arenanet can do about it though; if your graphics card can’t display beyond a certain level of detail, there’s nothing the developers can do about that. Sorry to say it, but you’ll probably need a new graphics card or computer if you want your gameplay to look as detailed as your friend’s.

I’ve heard Arenanet say a few times that dungeons are intended to be difficult, and require planning and coordination to complete. I’m in favor of this, but I don’t think it should apply to story mode.

PaperD also has a good point that players need more incentive to help others with story modes that they themselves have already completed. Whether that incentive is dungeon tokens, influence, or even an achievement for helping others with their story mode dungeons and personal story quests, it needs to be something that gets players who have completed them to help those who haven’t, without becoming all about the loot.

Crafting disciplines that create armor (Tailer, Leatherworker, and Armorsmith) can create runes, while disciplines that create weapons (Artificer, Huntsman, and Weaponsmith) can create sigils. That being said, not all runes and sigils can be crafted. From the lack of crafting data for it around the internet it looks like the Superior Rune Of Scavenging is one that cannot be crafted. Your best bet is probably to buy them from the trading post.

Supposedly, players who bought character slots during BWEs and later bought character slots after launch received extra slots up to the amount they bought during the BWEs.

Something that I’ve seen pop up several times in recent threads is that players who are 28 and older seem to love this game, while younger players seem to want more and eventually leave the game.

Eventually? The game has only been out for a month and a half. For an MMO that’s no time at all.

I suggest making the timing of the dragon events random. When they’re regular and predictable they become a farm for a bunch of players who just stand around and wait for others to do the pre-event work, auto-attack the dragon, and reap the rewards. Random timing would make it more of an actual “event” and would actually excite players when they happen.

I also suggest making either the pre-events able to be failed, or the dragon fight itself able to be failed. Making the dragon fight a guarenteed win ruins the epicness, and if it were possible to fail the event that causes the dragon to appear, players would be more motivated to contribute rather than stand around and wait for the dragon to appear.

I encountered more bots in the past 2 days than I have in all the other days since launch combined. It really is getting out of hand. All the ones I saw were rangers, but I saw them in Harathi Hinterlands, Gendaran Fields, Straits of Devastation, and Cursed Shore.

The one in Sorrow’s Furnace is working now; I was in a group that claimed it yesterday.

Yes some of them are still bugged, but most of them seem to be fine. In the higher level areas I’ve always got at least a couple events going on around me, and since the most recent update I’ve only seen one of them that was bugged. I don’t know if all 1500 are in the game already but the devs have said that they plan to quietly add events in over time to already existing areas to keep things interesting.

Ya they’re soulbound. I’d prefer it is they were account bound so we could at least share them between our own characters.

So there’s one staff in the game that you don’t like the appearance of? Then use a different staff. Just because its legendary doesn’t mean you have to get it. The only difference between legendary weapons and exotic weapons is the appearance.

The endgame is about what you make it about. It’s a game; have fun with it. There are so many things to do, complete all the jump puzzles without looking up the solution, fight for your server in WvW, cut some throats in sPvP, master all crafting disciplines, complete your personal story, help your guildies/friends, play some keg brawl, etc.

And even if you make it all about making your character look cool, no one is forcing you into a legendary. There are plenty of cool looking exotic weapons.

I found 3 of them while running through Mount Maelstrom the other day. You can get them from Verdant Herbs.

I honestly think its good that something is throttling the creation of Omnomberry Bars. They provide such an overpowered loot modifier that if all of their ingredients were cheap, everyone would be running around with them active all the time, which would be incredibly broken.
