Sorrow’s Furnace Commander
“You’re the mount, karka’s ride you instead, and thus they die happy!”-Colin Johanson
Unfortunately you probably will have to wait until next Wintersday to get those minipets. Hopefully they’ll un-bind them in the next major patch though, so they can be bought and sold on the TP.
so who else out grew iron level zones before they had even 1/3 of what was needed? its scary how much iron is needed for a single craft profession.
Outgrew level zones? This game downscales your level so it’s impossible to outgrow any level zone.
Also, if you’re looking for a level 80 zone with iron nodes, try the WvW borderlands. Just be sure to pull your weight while you’re there.
And those same salvaging tips apply to metals, which can still be gathered from nodes.
So it’s still easier to get metals.
In fact, it’s even EASIER because many weapons will also give metal salvage, while only armor pieces will give cloth or leather.
Metal is used for crafting both armor and weapons, while cloth and leather are only used for armor.
I think splitting it into 3 short but unique jump puzzles would be great. Completing the first, easiest, one would provide a small reward and unlock the next puzzle. Completing the second puzzle would provide a slightly greater reward and unlock the final puzzle. The final puzzle would be the toughest and provide the greatest reward. This would help a lot with wait times and player satisfaction.
Took me around nine gold today to level artificing from 106-326.
your doing it wrong then… when i level 1 – 400 in that it takes me about 90 silver, with 5g spending cash which i get back
Some of us like discovering as many recipes as possible along the way.
I would guess that 60-70% of the people who’ve tried it have been able to complete it. Like many others said, the Mad King’s Clock Tower makes the Winter Wonderland look like a cakewalk.
I don’t like spending money, maybe they should remove the requirements of everything that costs money too.
That already exists. Deer and similar neutral NPCs have a chance to drop salvageable hides which salvage into leather. I can’t say the same for cloth, but it can be salvaged from any light armor and is hardly scarce.
I doubt we’ll get a whole new set of legendary weapons before the first expansion, so it’ll probably be a while.
I know plenty of people who’ve gotten their Gift of Battle entirely from jump puzzle rewards. Honestly, I think the WvW jump puzzles should give less badges than they do now because legendary weapons are supposed to be about mastering every aspect of the game (not saying that it actually is in its current state).
Actually, I’ve seen people fight them, but it usually take a group of three average players or two working in tandem.
I’ve never had a problem soloing a group of toys on my level 80 warrior, my level 80 guardian, and only minor problems soloing them on my level 40 thief and level 28 engineer.
In case neither of them made it clear, the reason you only have 25 copper showing now is because every 100 copper gets converted into 1 silver, which you now have 10 of there (and presumably 9 before selling).
We wouldn’t need a Scavenger Hunt if they increased the chance to get a precursor from the Mystic Forge (10% chance would be good enough imo) or implement a fixed recipe.
That would make precursors by far the most common drops from combining high level rares or exotics, which would just be stupidly broken.
also give us the ability to throw tomatoes at people who spam a note in LA.
It would be interesting if people using choir bells were entered into costume brawl so we could attack them if they suck.
So at this point ANet the question is are you going to do anything with a week left to go in the holiday?
Like what? The only people unhappy are those who bought chests and had bad luck. If they made the minis available to buy directly at this point, the people who got minis from chests already would complain.
I noticed the same thing a few days ago and just figured it was a recent change to prevent people from keeping the dragon alive and farming the elementals.
Make sure you’re looking at the production tab and check your list filters.
Please do note that the achievement associated with Legendaries is tied to their equipping and not to their obtaining. I think that is rather significant (and a clever thing on the part of the team, in my opinion).
That’s even worse. At least if the achievement was linked to crafting it wouldn’t be buy-able.
You need to know: Legendaries are not soul-bound until equipped. So they can, legitimately, be sold on the TP. Once equipped, however, they become soul-bound.
This is terrible! Legendary weapons are supposed to show that players have mastered various aspects of the game.
It would be cool (no pun intended) if some of the gifts dropped consumable candy canes or maybe even snowman summoners like the original GW. I’m getting fairly tired of ugly wool socks and sweaters.
“We don’t have latrines. We have waterclosets.”
Sounds like a bug to me.
Its a known bug that some of the enemies from world presents spawn at a higher level than they’re supposed to. When they spawn at the right level, its not that tough to kill a whole group solo.
Another whiny thread from someone who doesn’t understand what the words “random” and “rare” mean?
And don’t even try the “there was no RNG like this in GW1” lies. Go ahead and name one everlasting tonic that isn’t acquired via RNG.
Also, the unbreakable bell gives you near-unlimited potential to annoy everyone around you. If it were a common drop, everyone with ears would be really angry.
This isn’t about some weapon skin, it’s about playing a fun mini-game. By keeping them rare they are locking out content from a lot of players once Wintersday ends.
All of the other Wintersday content disappears after Wintersday…
There’s a bug in WvW the removes most of the options when you right-click a player. Try manually adding that player to your block list, which is available via the contacts window.
For a while, newly discovered passion fruit recipes were not appearing in the Chef production panel. The other day I discovered two new passion fruit recipes and they did appear in the production panel, but when I searched for the ones I had previously discovered, I found that they were still missing. Since I already discovered them, they don’t appear in my discovery panel either, so it is now impossible for my Chef to create certain food items that require passion fruit.
It worked fine for me. Are you sure you didn’t accidentally click “Destroy”?
@Rarespawn There’s nothing that can only be done right after the patch goes up. Just plan for it to be later rather than sooner.
This is a duplicate of https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/crafting/Only-rich-ores/first
Recipes for named exotics like Mjolnir work 100% of the time.
Certain recipes, such as Mystic Clovers, have a certain chance to yield mystic clovers and a chance to yield other materials.
Other recipes, such as material promotion always work, but give a variable amount of the resulting material.
the reason I ask is I have very uncontrolled type 2 diabetes and am begining to have serious issues with it. Doctors are talking about me losing my feet soon and already my vision is leaving me. I might be good for a day or two, but I have other times where my vision is so bad due to my sugars I just cant see much of anything.
Don’t give up so easily! You may already be experiencing the detriments of uncontrolled blood sugar, but you can still do something about it. It’s only uncontrolled because you aren’t in control of it. If you really are trying to take care of yourself and endocrinologist isn’t giving you the tools and support you need, find a new one. If you can save even partial vision, or a few more years with your family, you know it will be worth it.
I got this the other day in under 2 hours from completing Timerline Falls, so its not that tough.
I really think that this needs to be changed to allow map changes. It’s just an achievement without a title, so it’s something that only you’ll see, and there’s very little motivation to exploit it.
Plus, it would take more effort to farm enemies at a story quest start point than it does to get it legit.
its well known that crafting the items you need as you level up is not possible. you out level anything you can craft in no time. unless you spend a whole lot of money to buy the items you need from the trade post.
Most people don’t have that problem if they focus on one craft at a time. And even if you have that problem on your first character, any characters after that have a significant head start. My level 19 mesmer (Jeweler) is crafting items that require level 75-80 without using the trading post, and my engineer went from level 16 to level 26 by leveling Chef to 400, and only had to buy Vanilla Beans and Chili Peppers on the trading post.
Crafting would be much better if they removed the profession lvl requirements:
Craft if you have the mats.
That would completely remove progress from crafting and no one would do it anymore.

There are also a lot of cheaper magic find foods than Omnomberry Bars if you don’t feel like shelling out cash for the most expensive one.
You also have to take into account that prices of the materials fluctuate.
They reset at midnight UTC. Sometimes they change locations, but I’m not sure at what frequency.
Someone from Arenanet said somewhere here on the forums that they might be making all legendary weapons permanently account-bound so you can share them between your characters.
It’s a known bug that usually affects accessories/amulets/rings. It happened to me too not that long ago, and I hope they fix it soon.
And now here we are again. Lottery Chests. I guess it’s obvious our feedback falls on deaf ears and they don’t care about it. They’d rather us gamble our money away instead of just sell us the product straight up. So much for voicing our concerns and hoping things would change.
Voice our concerns with our wallets. If they keep jamming everything in the chests, I won’t buy anything else from the cash shop ever again. They nerfed key drops, nerfed loot drops, added DR to everything…. People bought costumes and minis outright at Halloween. Where were the minis for the next event? Stuck in a chest. I would much rather purchase the things I want outright so I know exactly what I am getting. I have bought bag slots, bank slots, character slots, minis, and costumes. So voice your concerns with your wallet like I plan on doing.
People are voicing their opinions with their wallets. And that’s why those chests are back, because they were so popular. Yes, there were a lot of people on the forums whining about not getting anything good, but there were far more people who bought the chests and were not whining about it. They knew they were taking a gamble, some got lucky, most didn’t, but they were fine with it.
Also, black lion key drops weren’t nerfed, the chest drops were because they were dropping excessively. The key drops were only reduced between beta and release.
I’m going to agree with everyone but the OP, Halloween was awesome, far from a “complete failure” and I have high hopes for Wintersday. I’m just a little let down that they told us that the toypocalypse is going to happen, and that there’s no sign of Dwayna vs Grenth.
Having the option to get rare skins from the gem store or buy them from people who did on the TP is a good thing. Why would you rage at having more options for what your weapons/armor/town clothes look like?
A Kodan would be even cooler
in Wintersday

I agree that they shouldn’t have told us about the toypocalypse, and just left it as an event that we’re encouraged to attend in LA.
Rush: When used on large enemies, causes the player to run into them until the skill completes without attacking.
That’s always been there, although there aren’t yet any that aren’t bound. See: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Toy
If you’re looking for cheap, do Chef next, it’s the cheapest to max and there are plenty of guides if you just want to get to 400.
Alternatively, you could learn the other crafting disciplines on other characters to have access to them all without having to switch around.
Yes, 100 Blades has great DPS, but it also requires you and your target to stand still for about 3 seconds. The cooldown doesn’t trigger until that time is over, so you can actually only use it about every 9 seconds, not 6.
As for warriors vs other classes with DPS, what other classes may lose in DPS, they gain in survivability, conditions, and crowd control.
I agree that people shouldn’t attack someone for reporting a bug, but it’s probably in poor taste for a developer to call people that bought his game “trolls” as they’re also paying his salary (if they’re buying gems).
He’s not calling anyone names, he’s using proper terminology:
