Sorrow’s Furnace Commander
“You’re the mount, karka’s ride you instead, and thus they die happy!”-Colin Johanson
I hate the new Skyhammer. The changes turned it from the most exciting map to the most boring.
This is allowed behavior; as it was designed to function that way.
This is the exact opposite of what I’ve seen stated in the past. Between this statement and the one that stated exploiting to get SAB tribulation mode tokens is allowed, I’m starting to fear that that Arenanet is now welcoming bots and exploiters with open arms.
You guys make a good point. Doing him in isn’t an option. But seriously, a swift kick in the pants? I’ll volunteer!
When he said that he wouldn’t go to the summit without Taimi relinquishing her device to him, I wanted the option to tell him that we would just find someone more important on the council instead. Hit him right in his asuran ego.
As of now we don’t have a problem with players doing this. While the late join is unintended, if players want to pay for this service, that’s fine. It does trivialize the skins some, but this isn’t any different than the skins from purchasing a raid run or a dungeon run (which we also are ok with). As long as the transaction is completed and players are getting what they paid for, fine.
So Arenanet is encouraging blatant exploits now? This is so wrong.
I saw this bug once last week while queued solo in unranked and again last night while queued with a guild group in ranked.
It looks like one person not accepting the match when the queue pops can cause all 10 people queued for that match to get dishonor.
This has happened to players with high pings since they added the skill in Bazaar of the Four Winds (9th of July, 2013.) It also affects other movement skills, Teq jump pads etc.
At this point it would seem that the way they made the skills work isn’t compatible with high pings and they aren’t going to bother changing it.
I don’t lag when I play normally at ~320 ms ping and I don’t usually lag while doing activities (I don’t play these when lagging anyway).
320 ping is pretty slow, and lightning pull seems to be very susceptible to lag. It works fine for me at 60 ping but over 150 all bets are off.
Posts that express upset about the coin — while I understand them — will be moot when SAB returns.
Mmm, that’s not entirely accurate… You’re making the assumption that ALL the people that have been complaining will still be playing the game if/when SAB returns. Let’s face it, at this point that’s not likely at all.
If someone spent money on the coin, fully expecting to be able to use it, and then quits playing before SAB comes back—for whatever reason—their anger in having wasted that money is absolutely NOT moot because they’ll still out the money spent on the item without ever getting to use it, since they’re no longer playing. “Eventually” does that crowd exactly zero ounce of good.
(Keep in mind this is coming from someone who neither purchased the coin nor really cares much about SAB. I’m just pointing out a shortcoming in your logic for the sake of discussion.)
You can come back to the game at any time since there’s no subscription fee, so it’s moot.
Have been noticing several people (including myself) complaining about a recurring issue with the turrets:
Don’t know if it is only one specific turret or all of them but when trying to use them, both skill #1 or #2 , you end up being cast out of the turret control after using any of them.
No mobs or orange circles interfered with this. Whenever dyou use a skill while on the turret ( i saw that on the southern turret from the eastern portion of turrets).
The turret recoils when it fires, pushing you off of it. It definitely seems like a bug, but you can prevent it from happening by interacting from slightly farther away.
Final chest bugged for some people (interact was not an option).
That’s probably because they have Autoloot enabled, so the chest contents are immediately put into their inventory.
I’m having the same problem with Crystal Healing Denier.
I perform knockdown and knockback on the break bar and then ~2000 damage when it’s vulnerable. I have destroyed 20-30 of the things by now, but only have 8 credit.
Hit them with gliding bombs; one barrage is enough to get credit.
I was the leader of a ranking team and didn’t get a reward chest at all. One of our team members got it, but it was empty.
I am proud to rep a guild. I agree with you both, it’s a matter of pride and honor. Granted I usually represent the dev guild, but even there, our guildies have worked hard to build up our Guild Hall, and my repping Anet is a sign of respect for everyone involved and of support for my fellow team members.
I can tell that people have been hard at work on the Anet guild hall. I got a chance to explore it over a month ago and it was already well decorated.
My guild, was created almost three years ago on the tenants of fun. The rule was always no rep requirement. The other guild leaders and I, had a strong belief that if people were enjoying the guild they would naturally wish to rep.
To force them to rep was asking for toxic unhappy people that were there because they had to be there, not because they wanted to be. Yes, my guild has seen alot of turn over, our recruitment cycle is constant. But the truth is through the years we have formed a tight cohesive family at the core.
This. I founded my guild in the first Guild Wars 8.5 years ago and we’re still going strong. We have never had a rep requirement and encourage everyone to play the way they want. If your guild provides the type of community that players want to be a part of, they will represent.
We need a Key Ring…We need unified and simplified systems.
Not just for keys.
I think everyone is aware of the current flaws.Sure your suggestion is valid but the problem doesn’t have to exist to begin with.
Bad/Unhealthy systems have to be fixed at their core.
No more band aid tactics.
Agreed.
Adding a ‘Keys’ tab to the wallet would be optimal.
(And if the wallet is going to have tabs, it would make sense to separate dungeon tokens into their own tab to keep things organized.)
I would prefer an account upgrade that allowed for faster gathering. The permanent harvesting tools speed up harvesting, but mining and logging are always slow (quickness will speed up the animation but not the actual gathering).
The Heart of Thorns forum section still describes it as “upcoming”, even though it released more than a month ago.
“Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns > Discussion of the upcoming expansion Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns”
F6 is one of the current default keybinds for taking a screenshot.
Can you please fix this? I occasionally have to play on a Mac, and every time I do it switches my screenshot key to F6, but it never switches back to PrintScreen when I play on PC again.
The defaults are Printscreen and F6 across both platforms. There was a time when Mac had an override though, but that was removed around the time Heart of Thorns launched.
Sweet, thanks!

A second upgrade that adds select Pact-controlled waypoints would be a great option. Each would only be available to characters that have already unlocked it. To provide an even spread across the map, it could include Earthshake Waypoint, Fort Trinity Waypoint, and Camp Resolve Waypoint.

i hav a hardworking guildie and he has 100++ charged…
I had a full stack when HoT came out. So far I’m down to 200 because of guild upgrades.
According to the wiki, the invisible mushroom spore “Unlocks for one collection per spore, so multiple kills are required.”
I’m not sure if it’s a bug or not.
Exploits
Let’s talk about exploits. Exploits can be described as the abuse of a bug or unintended game design to gain an advantage over other players. For example, maybe that vendor is selling items for 1/100th of their sell value, or perhaps an escort event spawns an infinite number of instantly respawning loot piñatas when you cause the NPC to get stuck.
Any chance the CoF experience exploit will get a nerf any time soon? It’s already well known and seems to fit your description of an exploit perfectly (especially when people are turning on action camera and putting objects on their mouse buttons so they can farm it while afk).
For years we have called for less golems, they brought us more….
This is Anet’s way of reducing the supply. Tons of golems will be consumed during this event, then you’ll have your wish.
Since the last patch, characters on the character select screen are too close to the camera and are off-center.
From today’s patch: “Antitoxin Spray has been removed from the game”
Do those of us who bought it for 25 skills points per character get 25 spirit shards or anything?
opportunities for line-of-sighting
I know what you mean, but…the grammar…
So…this image has been my desktop background for the past 3 months, and I just discovered something.
We’re getting the Shield of the Lion!

The aegis doesn’t ruin that screenshot, it helps show that it’s a guardian wielding a longbow and not just a warrior.
Please remove cripple from hyenas. You already get slowed down when they hit you anyway. It’s just frustrating. Even on my warrior using “Charge” I just can’t stand it.
I don’t know what’s the point of this. Is it to annoy players? Because this is in no way challenging. It’s just frustrating.
Maybe there are some players who enjoy getting crippled every 1 or two minutes while running on the map. Maybe they’re even really into getting pushed back by randomly spawning teragriffs when they try to open chests. I personally don’t and I hope the majority doesn’t enjoy it neither.
Have you ever tried running past mobs in Orr? They should put hyenas in perspective for you.
Hyenas are easy to avoid. If you have any sort of speed buff, you can run right by them without getting hit, and they’ll break aggro right afterward. Better yet, use them to practice your dodge timing.
First no fall damage from walking down stairs and now this? Descending has never been so peaceful!
I will miss waypointing while falling and having my character suddenly appear screaming among a group of confused strangers, though.

I don’t recall seeing a warning for green items, but I don’t mind a bit getting the message in relation to golds. But then, I’m not massively wealthy, either.
You get the warning when trying to salvage anything that is rare or higher rarity as well as items that are soulbound.
Today’s project: Come up with Guild Wars trivia for the ArenaNet staff. This is going to be extra challenging!
I actually have an entire list of Guild Wars trivia that I used in the first game to quiz allies and give away prizes. They aren’t multiple choice, and most of them are harder than the ones you made for this event. I even have a bunch of screenshots that I took in different locations around the game for “Where was this taken?” style questions.
I would love to challenge the ArenaNet staff. Where do I sign up?
Not sure what you are saying. The report functions just as always. Click flag – type report – post report – see notification (A Moderator will blah, blah…) at top of thread, as always
Maybe your forum software is acting up?
It previous gave you a new page that showed just the post that you’re reporting and a box for you to say why you’re reporting it. That’s gone now.
I noticed that the report flag on the forum now functions differently than it did before. Clicking on the report flag puts the post that I clicked at the top of the screen and posts a notification acknowledging the report. The problem is that that acknowledgement appears at the top of the page, which is not visible after focusing on the reported post, so the user doesn’t see the acknowledgement and will likely think that the report failed.
Note to anyone reading this: Please don’t test this on this post or any other posts that don’t deserve to be flagged.
Will we still be able to use multiple traits in the same line from the same tier? The first screenshot in the part 1 article looks like each specialization can only have 1 adept, 1 master, and 1 grandmaster trait. Will we still be able to do things like pick a second master trait instead of a grandmaster trait? If not, this will greatly limit build diversity, from 594 possible combinations per trait line to 27.
Possible trait combinations per specialization:
Current (6/4/3, substitution allowed): 6 * 9 * 11 = 594
Proposed (3/3/3, substitution allowed): 3 * 5 * 7 = 105
Proposed (3/3/3, no substitution allowed): 3 * 3 * 3 = 27
Whatever they play, it’s not Ranger.
Ranger is actually one of the most played classes by Anet staff, from what I have personally seen.
Yep, I ran into one of them playing as a ranger last week in DR.
Its a game… get over it!
Please leave the forums if you don’t care.
I care which is why i am here.
Then why post rude an unproductive posts like that one, and then falsely flag my post? If all you’re going to do is insult other posts with rude comments, it’s better to not comment at all.
Considering most minions/summoned pets are already susceptible to the aforementioned changes we feel that this is a fair way to bring turrets more inline with the rest of the game.
Most minions and pets can also deal critical hits and receive boons. Adding those abilities to turrets would make them too powerful, but it’s something to keep in mind if you’re trying to “bring turrets more inline with the rest of the game.”
Engineer turrets will be able to be affected by conditions.
Not all conditions make sense when applied to turrets.
Makes sense:
Maybe makes sense:
Doesn’t make sense for existing turrets, but would make sense for mobile turrets:
Doesn’t make sense:
At the very least, turrets should remain immune to Bleeding, Fear, and Poison.

I find it ironic that you’re complaining about this on Asura. Hair looks completely wrong on Asura, and it’s my personal headcannon that they are naturally bald and, in fact, fancy wigs as a fashion statement.
My Asura characters never have hair.
Haha. My girlfriend says that the asura with hair freak her out. We both think they looked better when they were all bald in GW1.
As a temporary fix, can we consider replacing all player character soundbites with Traherne monologue?
This won’t end well.
It’s definitely something I’m working on. If you’re technically-minded, there’s a pull request on Github that details our plans for the initial release of an API endpoint that will allow the creation of sites that can access your character data.
What about privacy?
Will I be able to set a per-character flag saying I don’t want my character exposed by the API?
Why? If my understanding is correct, only you will be able to see your characters anyway.
-No collection achievement for salvaging Rotbeard’s Treasure
:’(
That’s not a bug, salvaging unlocks skins, not collection credit. Weapons and armor count towards collections based on their skins, but accessories don’t have skins, so they do not. You have to equip it or right-click and select ‘Add to Collection’.
Every character always has a direction that they are facing. Why not orient the footprints in that direction instead of calculating it based on skeleton joint directions?
Remember when the community was in an uproar because the upcoming skill, Antitoxin Spray, was going to be so overpowered that it would ruin the game? Please stop.
No! Absolutely not.
I still think that you should balance PvP and PvE separably. But that’s just crazy talk I know.
They already do.
I am confused at to why balance changes are going live in the next patch that will affect the game as a whole when the issues that generated to problems are mainly isolated to sPvP. We all get that certain classes are problematic in sPvP when celestial amulet stats are combined with might stacking, but this simply isn’t the case in the rest of the game.
My worry is that many of these changes will impact things negatively in every other aspect of the game. Why not just make some of these balance changes to sPvP only as that is the only place they are applicable?
Directly from the upcoming balance changes that you’re referencing:
Confusion
Along with the change to might, we are also looking at the confusion condition in PvE. Confused creatures generally don’t swing as often, and the effects of the condition can feel a bit lackluster when they hit. To this end, we’ll improve the damage of confusion in PvE only.
- Confusion: The effect of condition damage on confusion has been increased by 33% in PvE only. This change does not affect PvP or WvW.
i respawned in combat a couple times on foefire but i did not notice actually taking damage or anything.
On a related note, I’d like to know why I’m sometimes in combat on respawn, having to deal with the combat speed debuff when leaving base.
Are you playing as ranger? There’s a bug where ranger pets respawn at the location that the player died before being teleported back to that player. If the pet gets hit, it puts you in combat.
