Guild members hacking all members reported

in WvW

Posted by: EnemyCrusher.7324

EnemyCrusher.7324

Because of the actions of several members of different guilds caught hacking, our realm has taken it upon itself to create new rules as to how we report hackers. Guild members have both individually, and as whole groups hacked. It has been with such flamboyant disregard for being caught that we are now reporting every member of a guild should it have members that have been caught. So many different members are hacking that we just don’t know who is innocent and who is not, and because of that we have no choice but to report every member of a guild.

If you are a member, commander, or creator of a guild and hold your guild in high regard please find members that hack and take action against them soon so your whole guild is not penalized for the actions of a few. Hacking has become so rampant in WvW that many realms are now reporting any member of a guild should any member of that guild be caught hacking. This can lead to YOU being falsely reported and possibly BANNED from playing Guild Wars 2.

1. Falsely reporting players for botting/hacking will result in your own account being suspended.

2. Being falsely reported will not result in your account being banned.

Sorry but a Useless post by you.
This page contains information about a discontinued Guild Wars 2 component that can no longer be acquired via conventional means.
The only way to obtain this content is through the Trading Post or through content that is no longer available.

I’m pointing out that there already is a Wizard’kitten in the game. Copying and pasting (somewhat misleading) text from my link is certainly more useless than the link itself. It’s not available via Trading Post either. The OP will have to hope that Anet makes it available again this Wintersday or by other means.

I’m at several thousand hours, over 21.5k AP, and have been playing since the beta. I’ve still never had an exotic worth more than 20 gold drop, let alone a precursor. Still, it’s a relatively easy achievement, unless you are a guardian. Don’t do that on a guardian. Aegis from Virtue of Courage unfortunately does count against the achievement.

Kudos to Anet for not thinking that one through terribly well :P

I completed it on my first try as a guardian in under 10 minutes. Just activate the virtue, get hit (to remove aegis), and you’re safe from it for 90 seconds.

Also, there is no reference link for that particular bolded line, and the reference links for the others are broken. So the dev team should still be consulted to verify that this is actually the case.

And if it’s true, and events can dynamically scale for afk or non contributing players, then that means they can also easily scale for dead players using similar lines of code, and they should be flagged as such instantly upon death, not within a window.

I agree wholeheartedly.

That already happens in WvW after 5 minutes to prevent spying and certain mesmer portal exploits. Events also do not scale in WvW, so that’s irrelevant to this discussion though.

Hobo Sacks: A Terrible Fashion Statement

in Engineer

EnemyCrusher.7324

It’s no wonder Anet ignores your complaints about “hobo sacks” when “hobo sacks” don’t exist in the game. A hobo sack is a cloth bag carried at the end of a stick, which don’t even bear a slight resemblance to what you’re referring to.

No worries, I knew what he meant. I’m using “backpack kits” in my e-mail, but would you suggest I use “weapon kit” instead? Or “bomb kit,” “grenade kit,” etc? I thought backpack was more descriptive and accurate but whatever you think best describes would be helpful.

“Backpack kits” is probably the most descriptive. I think people usually refer to them as “engineer kits”, but that could as easily apply to the skills.

For example, one designer thought that with new art, we might be able to display the kits on the weapon holsters on the right or left hip, so players could tell what kits are in use while allowing the Engineer to display a sweet back-piece, too.

I like that idea a lot.

She’s one of the more important characters in the later parts of the personal story. Players would have to not be paying any attention to not know who she is, unless they’ve just forgotten her because they did the living story so long ago.

Achievement Point Chests Need Love

I really like the idea of putting a Black Lion Ticket Scrap in each chest (every 500 AP).

A scrap is worth like 5g, hardly worth it. It must be a ticket or its not worth the change

A whole ticket would be way too much. A ticket every 5k would be fine, but that’s essentially a less flexible way of doing 1 ticket every 500.

A scrap is worth more like 10g anyway, which is a big deal compared to what you currently get.

Also, these rewards would also have to be retroactive, to avoid screwing over everyone who has already opened AP reward chests.

This has actually been a minor frustration for me for a long time. I frequently solo supply camps in WvW by pulling the NPCs together and killing them with AoE attacks. If there are supply dolyaks in the camp, they usually die quickly, rewarding me with a burst of experience from their events. This causes a level up every once in a while, launching the remaining enemies, and usually giving the scouts (with their annoying blind fields) a chance to heal.

With the Lunatic Inquisition returning soon, I just realized that we may have a problem. The game is a sort of hide-and-seek, but with the September 9 patch that increased nearby targeting (aka C targetting) range and allowed for it to target through walls or other obstructions, I’m concerned that hiding may no longer be an option. This would give a huge advantage to the Inquisition side.

I almost feel bad, but you asked for this. I did #4 too. The removed commas are replaced by bold numbers in parentheses here. Not all removals are grammatically correct, but the post still makes sense without them.

Ok so I am not able to post a video right now, university is quite time consuming (1) but I had a couple of minutes to check out alphard. Here it comes, for mesmer soloers (2) as well as teams running with mesmers.

First off, the pull attack can be reflected with temporal curtain, a traited warden, as well as a feedback, the bomb damage does become yours when pull is reflected (3) and originates from your current location( watch out gsmesmers). The warden’s reflection obviously makes the bomb originate from your warden’s location though.

Now (4) for the safe strategy, for mesmers the problem will now be the daggerstorm, which hits instantly, while the normal approach would be to use blurred frenzy and blink out of the area near one of the crates, because of your DPS lack, this will end up with all crates being destroyed before Alphard is(hypothesis, I am unable to test that now).

So here it is. The phantasmal warden, when untraited, has the uncanny ability to block any and every projectile(some of you may use this at old tom), I am not sure how many are aware of this, anyways, this, you guessed it, includes the DAGGERSTORM.

so, to kill alphard, use the phantasmal warden at the start of the fight, use your new OP signet, spawn your next warden properly so its attacks lock into the first warden’s. Now (5) try to take alphard’s attention for a little while (6) and use feedback for his pull attack(consider standing close for extra damage) (7) whenever the small gap between the warden’s attacks occurs.

When the warden is now off cooldown, spawn your third warden and make sure its attacks lock into the gap, giving you a permanent warden’s attack upkeep.

Now (8) for the adds, considering you’re likely running 20 in inspiration, make sure the traits you use are glamour mastery and temporal enchanter, now equip mimic and feedback. When the adds spawn, first use feedback, hope you do a lot of damage, after this (9) use your mimic skill and run out of the warden’s protection into the group of mobs, these are likely to attack you, and because of their quick hits (10) you will reflect an enormous amount of damage back to them (11) after the initial projectile absorption.

If one of your wardens dies nontheless, you still have your signet and normal warden CD to get this guy back up and running.

Sidenote: to those thinking the warden will be interrupted by the pull, making it impossible to keep up the protection, as was certainly true before, this is now irrelevant (12) because you’re blocking instead of reflecting. The reason the warden was interrupted before, was because he reflected the pull attack, this attack intervenes with the spin, thus ending it as the pull is launched back. Now that you are blocking, this is no longer the case, so they will keep spinning.

Now just hit it (13) and wait till he dies.

I hope this helps out

EDIT: I too tried out this technique for myself, finally, turns out its actually extremely hard to pull off, as mimic makes your wardens bug out and stop spinning, making you extremely vulnerable untill feedback is up again. With mass invisibility I was able to take him down eventually (14) but this is not reliable.

For mesmer soloers, use the same pull technique as done in the mesmer duo (15) posted a bit later:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X04Ylot-51g

Extra note: mimic can also be used in combination with the stability mantra to absorb the pull+bomb attack, which can help some soloers get Operative Brie down more easily, as it can hit about 70k with every one of the 4 hits(direct damage)

In team setting, the warden block still works, so I would like to think it was not all for nothing.

I am sorry for the inconvenience

Challenge: remove at least 15 commas out of one of my forum posts and still have it make sense.
Reward: Reading glasses skin from the gemstore

5. Kull / Xero[SOLO]/[rT]: As the first member I had the pleasure of welcoming to SOLO, xero and I have been working together in SOLO as well as rT, from start to present.

Challenge: Correct my spelling 5 times in one post
Reward: Total makeover kit to make yourself go bald. Kymswarden if you send me a pic of you actually having done so.

6. Haviz[SOLO]/[rT]: The Dark lord has influenced lots of things, as secondary leader in rT as well as SOLO, I had no way of avoiding the man. But he remains a really skilled individual, who has contributed loads to the guild and my own experience of the game.

Challenge: nothing funny to see here… he might hurt me. Just give me a good rage post explaining why elementalists are underpowered.
Reward: The red glowing eyes he probably has in real life (from the gemstore).

7. Lorek[SOLO]/[rT]: A loyal friend of the dark lord, Lorek has helped out a lot in rT being one of the more serious members. He’s still around and continues to make the guild have a positive attitude.

Challenge: Befriend a being of darkness(be creative)
Reward: A mini Brown Bear + Magitech Medium armor skin.

8. Jeremy[rT]: My replacement sandy for when Im away. Jeremy has always entertained me a lot with his character. As one of the later members to join rT he has been the perfect example of the kind of person I hoped to attract with the new trialing system. He replaces me for extensive periods of time to this day.

Challenge: Attempt to do a guild mission alone because nobody shows up to join you, fail and laugh uncontrollably.

Reward: Constantly smiling Warrior quaggan backpack set from the gemstore.

9. Funny Sunny Bunny[?]: Likely a name nobody here knows. This was a person whom went with me to fractals 80 for the first time. My pure annoyance with them was what drove me to doing my first solo, as I can not stand being looked down on.

Challenge: Call me a pile of sand extensively won by acotje
Reward: Nothing. God I hate that.

As this is only directed at the dungeon forum community, I would appreciate it if this thread stayed on this page.

rT will be around at least as long as I can keep myself busy with the random stuff I do on a regular basis, and I hope the time for a comeback won’t take too long.

Enjoy, I hope to see you around in game.

This style of giveaway is a great idea.

You also used “whom” where you should have used “who”, but I suppose that’s grammar and not spelling.

CDI- Guilds- Guild Halls

I just though of something that could be cool:

Have characters of players who are offline, who are representing the guild, appear as NPCs in the less trafficked parts of the guild hall.

That way we can show off our characters and get to see who else is in our guild, even if we don’t catch them online. It would also add an extra level of customization that would make it so that no two guild halls are identical.

Allowing players to select what each character says when interacted with, from a predetermined list, would further enhance the immersion and uniqueness. Alternatively, this could be automatically decided by each character’s personality.

RNG as a concept: Discuss

I think that RNG with a failsafe is a good way to go.

Taking the Mystic Forge as an example, let’s say you are trying to forge a Precursor weapon. In a pure RNG system (like we have now), failed attempts are simply failed attempts.

If we add a failsafe though, all failed attempts (failed attempts being defined as any forge attempt that COULD produce a Precursor, but produced something else instead) could drop a token that in enough quantity can be traded for a precursor. This means that failed attempts are now incrementally valuable as well.

Even if the failsafe takes a while to kick in, it creates a system whereby you are guaranteed a success eventually, which removes the negative side of the outliers.

You’re thinking about this way too narrowly. The non-randomness of John’s second suggestion would mean that after a certain number of unlucky drops, you’re guaranteed to get a lucky drop. This wouldn’t just apply to the mystic forge, but I’ll use that as my example since you did. If you throw 4 rare level 80 longbows into the mystic forge 20 times and only get rares, no exotics, on the 21st try you would be guaranteed an exotic. Whether that exotic is a precursor or not would still be up to luck. There would also be no actual “tickets”, that’s a figurative description for the guarantee of better luck on your next try.

Suggest fixing the 1 copper raise problem

in Black Lion Trading Co

Quibbling over semantics. Please stop. It is still an auction site in the same sense as E-Bay. Players set their price they wish to buy or sell an item. It is like a silent auction. Players can raise their bid and no one really knows who they are. Also, just like an auction, you set your “reserve” the minimum you will sell an item for. A player can either buy outright or bid below that and hope another seller prices theirs below yours.

It is still an auction site, no matter how you look at it.

There are no auctions on the trading post.

Having similarities does not make them the same thing. I can buy a cheeseburger from the trading post for 3 copper or I can buy a cheeseburger from McDonald’s for $1, but that doesn’t make the trading post a fast food restaurant.

If you’re bidding for something – it is an auction.

A buy offer is not a bid. A bit is an offer for an individual item that expires as soon as a higher bid is made, and that bid will become the buy price if no higher bid is made before the auction expires. A buy offer is an indefinite offer to pay a certain amount of money for a certain item, that can be fulfilled at any time, by any seller.
