Please fix fractal 41 - 50 tier rewards

I’ve seen LOD, ZoS, and KING’s research on all fractal reward drop rates. I read here for people bragging that they got one. No tonic appears to have dropped for anyone between August 2013 and October 2014. Then starting October 2014, at least 20 dropped in a single week, they tapered off after that with about 1 every two weeks that I could see. Then March 18th one drops and nothing since then.

My theory is that it keeps getting stealth patched out of the drop tables, I don’t know if that is intentional or unintentional. If it’s actually just a really low drop rate, then I’d have to do the 41 – 50 every day for 2 years just to have an even shot at it. That’s just stupid for what the tonic is. More likely, the drop rates are being manipulated. If it’s intentional, I don’t believe we should be kept in the dark when items are no longer dropping deliberately.

I don’t think KING shows their raw data for there’s so can’t tell when the 2 tonics that dropped for them were.

Also for a note for LOD’s, we reset our’s completely back to 0 for all tiers when they supposedly fixed the 41-50 tier last time.

I think KING only reset that tier.

Same. Around 430 rings now. Some definite word would be nice but then again, I tend to not throw away anything so even if they said something, I’ll probably still continue to hold on to them until there’s something useful that could be done with them.

Meh its apparently a really low drop rate lol. I this point fractals is almost being abandoned. barely people doing them as the reward/time investment is a joke. Hey anet I love the 1 gold I get after completing the hardest content. If you do get a tonic u make sure to treasure it XD

the reward/time is fine if you’re doing sub 30 min runs. the straight up gold isn’t but you usually get enough rares and exotics it makes up for it.

Well the vote is now at 4 and 4 so how do we break ties?

We probably really just need to clarify what out of bounds means and leave it at that since issue 6 and 7 were the only ones that people were disagreeing with despite both of them stating that they were unintended areas. If you modify the out of bounds rule to state getting inside of map geometry is not allowed and that’s it, then we’d be pretty much done since the Arah tree jump would not be allowed and the molten facility wall jump will. We shouldn’t need to vote on specific exceptions in areas if we just adjust/fix the overall rule that’s in question. The idea is that you have a general consistent ruleset.

The rest of them besides issue 1 for an expansion of rule 12 are already pretty clear in the rules.

There isn’t really such thing as “voting on questionable things”. If something is questionable that means rules have to be refined.

Which is pretty much the point I think I was making last week and this week.

For some reason, people thought “out of bounds” had questionable areas.

In an earlier post, I went through all the issues we were voting on this week and was wondering why we were even voting on them as the current rules all applied.

As stated earlier, issue number 1 is the only one that contributed to a need to adjust a rule to include mobs can’t be safespotted either.

The current ruleset all applied to the other issues so if there’s no such thing as “voting on questionable things” since it just means the rules need to be refined, then why are we voting on specific issues instead of just adjusting the rules?

That we’re basically throwing the rules out so people can vote for path specific rules for each dungeon instead of having a baseline and voting on questionable things that should or should not be allowed based on the general ruleset.

There’s a difference between voting on exceptions that should be allowed because they’re questionable vs voting on exceptions because we want to ignore a rule completely.

If you want to point a finger at someone for the communities attitude, point it at A.net. If dungeons in this game weren’t so horribly broken – Run, stack, run, stack, run, stack, skip this trash, run, stack, and give players content that can be taken as something other than a joke, attitudes would improve. Perhaps pug’ing wouldn’t be a nightmare.

You do realize that there’s plenty of people in the game who don’t run zerker, don’t LOS mobs, don’t stack together, and such and they still have fun, right?

If you think it’s so broken, then don’t run it like that.

If you think pugging is a nightmare, grab a group of friends or a guild.

hmm that’s odd. 95% of the community I run into seems fine.

Sure we’ve all run into people who are terrible but the majority has always been pretty good.

Honestly for pvp, if I’m just looking around to have fun and mess around, I play hot joins. For unranked, I’m looking for wins and I’m guessing most others are as well.

Whenever I see people ping something nice that dropped or when they’re forging their legendaries, I usually see people saying “grats” or such in chat.

Either you’re playing at the worst possible times or you’re only picking up the negative comments.

I’m going to copy my post from another thread concerning Agony Infusions:

There are four type of infusion slots: defensive, offensive, utility and agony infusion slots.
Armor have defensive infusion slots.
Weapons have offensive infusion slots.
Backpieces have a offensive infusion slot or defensive infusion slot depending on which one you get.
Amulets have a utility infusion slot, a offensive infusion slot, or a defensive infusion slot depending on which one you get.
For rings, there is one with a defensive infusion slot and one with an offensive infusion slot per stat type.
For accessories, there is one with a defensive infusion slot and one with an offensive infusion slot per stat type.
Backpieces and rings can be infused which give it an agony infusion slot in addition to the offensive/defensive slot they had before.
Offensive infusion slots can take omni infusions or offensive infusions.
Defensive infusion slots can take omni infusions or defensive infusions.
Utility infusion slots can take omni infusions or utility infusions.
Agony infusion slots can take agony infusions.
Omni infusions consist of the +5 Versatile Simple (75 fractals) and the +5 stat infusions with AR called Versatile [stat type] (Mystic Forge recipes).
Offensive infusions consist of Mighty, Malign, or Precise Infusions.
Defensive infusions consist of Healing, Resilient, and Vital Infusions.
Utility infusions consist of Gilded (20% gold from kills), Magical (20% MF), Experienced (20% XP from kills), and Karmic (15% karma).
Agony infusions are the +1s that drop from each fractal boss chest that can be combined with an Artificer into the increasing AR levels.

Action figures of your actual character would be fantastic. A 3D printer could easily do this as ANet have all the information from your account at their fingertips. Then it would need dressing in armour but they could offer choices from a selection.

If ANet started doing this then I honestly have no idea how much money I would be willing to pay to have my two fave chars standing on my desk.

Uh I may buy 45 figurines if they offer this . ..

I do find it funny that during LS Season 1 and 2 people were complaining that they would rather have all the content at once in an expansion type patch instead of this steady trickle of content. Now we’re told we are getting an expansion and people are saying they want the steady trickle back.

I do think that Anet should provide some filler content to tide us over until HoT gets released though. At least give us the seasonal festivals or SAB or another WvW tourney.

I might have explained myself poorly but you shouldn’t vote to clarify rules. While you can do that, nothing forces others to do the same. With this system people can vote to allow things which are clearly against rules overriding the rule.

The whole point of last week was do people want to decide “case by case” to allow exceptions.

Do you think I should open the last week’s vote with a better clarification?

So in other words, we really are just throwing the rules out the window and deciding on whatever we want to allow per path.

Yes, if that’s the case, we probably should re open last week’s vote with it being more explicit on what we’re voting for.

Enko.6123

That was kind of point of last week voting. Do people want enforced and consistent rule set or more freedom? While opinions are always great, I have to say you are one week late.

Also the point isn’t to keep the current rule set but to evolve it as people want. If existing rules get too controversial, I will refine or remove them. For example based on current votes, I can just add new rule about allowing delaying path selection. Similarly ‘out of bounds’ will get changed to disallow getting inside walls or geometry.

I made the same point last week as well.

Let me try to rephrase the point I’m trying to make.

All of the current voting things are in line with asking if things should be allowed. As Nike stated earlier, he voted according to if they were allowed under the current rules which is almost how everybody voted. When we were deciding on voting things, I saw it more as that we were voting on things that were questionable and how the rules applied to them.

If you go through them and ask yourself"does this violate any of the rules?", then vote accordingly.

1. Safespotting trash: More of an expansion on Rule 12 which was only on bosses before. This was a reasonable question to ask if safespotting should be expanded for any enemy.

2. Bypassing AC gate: Using a teleport to stand on the gate and get past it before it closes doesn’t violate any of the current rules. Jumping over the gate is what is questionable as you’re bypassing a progress blocking event of standing on the weight panel to open the gate so rule 5 may apply.

3. CoE door skip. Rule 5 applies.

4. Arah P3 first door skip. What rule was anyone saying this violated? 12a with event spawns?

5. AC burrow. What rule was anyone saying this violated? 12a with event spawns?

6. Molten Furnace leaping on top of the fence. Is this violating Rule 8? Out of bounds seems pretty cut and dry.

7. Arah P4 Tree Jump. Is this violating Rule 8? Out of bounds seems pretty cut and dry.

In every one of these cases, our existing rule set can be looked at and applied to see if each of these instances are violated. If people feel like these should be allowed, then the overall rule should be changed so that the Restricted ruleset is consistent.

If you look at the current Path specific rules, the majority of them are clarifications if they are allowed per the ruleset which the things we’re voting on this week should be the same. The other items listed under Path Specific Rules are things that don’t really fall under any rules and only apply in that dungeon and no where else such as CM P3 air guns on bosses, Reflects on top of the wall for Arah, and Volcanic replenishing infused stones.

Basically what I’m saying is that we have a an overall governing set of rules and if people have questions or have an argument to make if something does or does not violate a rule, it is put up for a vote. Everything this week was based on does this violate a current rule or not with the exception of #1 which was an expansion to a rule.

So we have a set of rules and we basically have a voting system in place on how the rules applies to situations.

So from this week’s votes, it looks like Rule 12 needs to be modified to state all enemies instead of just bosses.

Rule 8 still needs clarification on what is considered out of bounds since for votes 6 and 7 people voted opposite ways. Noticed your statement about changing it to disallow getting inside walls or geometry so guess we will have to wait to see how that’s worded.

Everything else can be placed under the path specific rules to clarify if these issue violate the current rules or not.

This all falls into what we voted on last week

Now some clearly unintended stuff are allowed because rules don’t explicitly ban it or just because.

We are clarifying if the rules ban something or not with this week’s vote.

A discussion clarifying how rules 12a probably needs to happen on what exactly are we defining as an event script. A lot of records being done now are due to manipulating NPCs to avoid their pathing, to avoid their dialogues, or to avoid other NPC interactions. Are we considering these event scripts or are we only counting events that actually display on your screen as events? BTW, why is this 12a and not just 13 or 5a as 12a seems more related to rule 5.

For the last 121 tracked runs:

Jade Maw: 48 (39.67%)

We’ll continue to track as the results will be better since our number of runs with the boss fractal tracked is a bit low still.

I’m still of the opinion that there should be a standardized set of rules across everything. We’re literally making up a new rule set for every single dungeon now.

This would mean that you couldn’t have a voting system, otherwise the argument would still come up as in what’s a breech of the rules and not, its quite easy for each person to interpret something differently. You would have to have one person who decides whether it is a violation otherwise (in my opinion) one set of rules just wouldn’t work, hence my previous comment. I didn’t mean it in a bitey way or an offensive way, was just a jokey comment, I apologise if it came across like that

What I mean by a standardized ruleset is that there is a general ruleset that covers everything. Specific questions can be answered for specific dungeons like what was being done previously. My issue here is that for the last two questions, they are both out of bounds issues yet some people said yes to one but no to another which makes it inconsistent. Out of bounds should be pretty cut and dry. All the other issues on this weeks discussion are all in line with the previous restricted ruleset.

It’s only inconsistent if you view them as both equally egregious. Personally, I am against both of them, but I can fairly say the Arah p4 JP is worse.

I’m not considering how much it affects the path. I’m looking at it specifically from what the rule says “8.) If any party member(s) at any point enter ‘out of bounds’ on a dungeon map, the time will be void”.

Out of bounds is out of bounds. It shouldn’t matter if it makes it so that the path is 5 seconds long or only shaves off 10 seconds off of a 5 minute run. Out of bounds is out of bounds.

So yes, voting yes on one and no on the other is inconsistent.

Issue 6: Molten Facility lightning riding

I want to start by poiting out that it doesn’t “magically skip dialogue”, the NPCs still have to do all the talking. What you skip is their run down. Even if it can be considered OOB it’s not used to skip any run or event or so, only the NPCs run. I don’t see it as any different to any other NPC manipulation like Magg in CoF2 (err…I don’t even know if that’s allowed, but it should be).

The issue at hand for this one was never about skipping dialogue. The issue is if the top of the fence should be considered out of bounds since that is a place that you shouldn’t be able to get to.

so basically you want Anet to give everything to everybody because that’s what would be fair.

We have all had the same opportunity to obtain those items. That’s fair. If you chose not to buy those items when they were cheaper, that’s kind of on you. Again, there’s nothing that’s stopping you from obtaining that gold yourself so you can buy it.

Everytime ANet releases new sets of dyes I am so grateful I jump in and buy them off the TP when there’s a decent amount there. I remember electro peach and lime sitting at a measly 20g or less.. Now look at those and the rest in the same set. Crazy prices. Glint’s Isolation too is unbearably pricey.

Just buy them when they’re released as they’re generally quite cheap due to the influx of people selling or getting doubles from chests.

This +1.

I usually buy them 7-9 days after they get released. The initial batch on day 1 are usually priced pretty high for all the people that want to have them immediately. By the time the second week rolls around, prices have gone down. After two or three weeks, people start getting worried about when Anet is going to remove them from the gem store so they start creeping back up again. Then they shoot up when they are released. Pretty much all of the dyes have followed this pattern.

Where in my post did you see me say that?

Why is this being evil? Are people who made gold in game somehow beating or hurting you? I again ask, what has stopped you from making some gold by either farming, playing dungeons, doing TP stuff, etc? We all are on equal footing in this game with the before mentioned exception of some people who find out about stuff before it actually gets announced. Those guys I dislike because its like insider trading. Other than those guys, the rest of us are all on equal footing. The fact that some people have more gold in this game because they worked for it doesn’t make them evil.

As for being greedy, yes people who manipulate the market are being greedy because they want more gold to be able to achieve whatever goals they have for their money. Again I ask, how is this hurting you?

im asking u Enko is it right for the rich to monopolise the market n to screw the poor? do u think by doing this they are making the game more enjoyable for everyone?

It’s not right or wrong. You’re trying to apply a moral dilemma on something that doesn’t have one. This is basic supply and demand economics. Low supply with a demand will equal higher prices.

Any item they’re doing this on isn’t required to play the game and you can still accomplish anything in pve, pvp, or wvw without them. All of the high priced items do not give you any advantage or disadvantage in the game. You’re complaining about a cosmetic item. Max stat Exotics aren’t that expensive to get and BiS ascended will take a little bit of work but aren’t out of reach either.

If for some reason not having an Electro Lemon dye causes you to not play this game, then you need to do what you need to do to have gotten the dye if you made this decision about it. The smart thing to do would have been to buy it when it was still dropping and it was cheaper. If you wanted this dye this badly, why didn’t you buy it when it was cheaper?

As I said earlier also, there are a few dyes that are pretty close to that shade. Let me ask you this. If it wasn’t one of the exclusive dyes to begin with and was just another yellow dye that costs 1 silver, would you still want it this badly or are you applying an increased value on it specifically because it costs more?

If you have the space, hold on to them. Never know when anet will give us a legacy merchant to use old currencies.

Well 83% percent of people chose to keep the voting system, turns out we live in a democracy and not a dictatorship

who was this even in response to? you’re talking like someone complained about the voting system in this thread.

What food buffs do you use in dungeons?

steak and asparagus for casual runs. They cost around 8s atm but faster you do the dungeons, faster you can go through them and get the rewards in a more time efficient manner.

I’m still of the opinion that there should be a standardized set of rules across everything. We’re literally making up a new rule set for every single dungeon now.

Standardized ruleset would look something like:
No gemstore exclusive items
No third party programs like teleport hacks and such
No breaking out of maps like going under the map.
All required events to advance progress must be completed.

Other than that, have at it. Basically if something is available to everyone then it should be allowed. This is sounding pretty much like Unrestricted at this point.
This was pretty much how records were done in GW1 and there was a heck of a lot less drama then.

If we still wanted rules like no non food or oil consumables, then fine but the rules should be pretty much standardized across everything.

We currently have some people voting “Yes ok” for some options that state unintended area while they’re voting “No shouldn’t be allowed” for other areas where the same statement unintended area is used. This shows an inconsistency.

Yes please. If for nothing else than to make the dungeon and fractal achievements consistent with each other.

[Suggestion] Fractal Tier Rewards

I agree w/ this. I would love to farm 40> constantly for karma and drops while still getting lower tier rewards from daily.

This would be the only problem here for people who farm 40s for karma. They would need to add an option to receive the 40 reward again which would get you the karma but not the chest.

Currently if you did repeated 40s, you would get the karma but not the wiggly chest. If you do 40s in around 20-25 minutes, this is the current fastest repeatable source of karma in the game.

Thanks for providing your service…

It really makes me wonder why Anet hasn’t caught on…. and do it themselves.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that if you want something to sell, you should advertise it… put it on display…. show it off.

You mean the ability to preview finishers in your hero panel or preview your minis in your hero panel or preview backpieces?

While I like that Dulfy provides player created videos to show them off, your statement that Anet should show them off and everything is a little off key as you can already. Granted its not perfect for seeing things like animations and such, but they are on display.

Fractal weapon Reward Chest PVP?

I’d be ok with buying them with fractal relics or pristines if it was a decently high number or if they let us toss our duplicates in the forge for another roll.

If they did add a fractal pvp track, then have the rewards be relics or pristines or a random skin. It’s already sad enough that the Dungeoneer collection is done faster with PvP than actual dungeons.

[Suggestion] Fractal Tier Rewards

I would much rather do 4 50s a day and be able to go with different groups in my guild to be able to help them out. The main problem is a lot of groups go do a 50 at reset so if you get on even an hour later and want to do a 50, you can’t get a team.

With dungeons if you repeat it again, you at least get the xp and 20 tokens. Fractals, you get nothing.

Even disregarding teaching people, all the people in my guild who do fractals would much rather do multiple 50s and get the next lower tier reward on subsequent runs just for the practice and so we can improve further. One of the reasons why fractal records took so long to get anything posted was that most people only do 1 50 a day and the ones you get are randomized. If you look at any of the fractals records beyond the ones you can get on first rolls, they’re all pretty much recorded runs from guild daily 50 runs.
