Is jumping the wall considered restricted or unrestricted? Jumping the wall in the Molten Bosses Fractal to force the teleport was considered unrestricted before.

Looks like Anet actually fixed it where it bugs out if you enter the room before the NPCs now as well?

Nice run regardless. Something to bypass timegates is always nice to make daily runs go faster.

It is considered restricted, it isn’t skipping a boss. Just a good use of game mechanics

Got it. just wondering since getting to some areas on dungeons are usually considered breaking out of the map. wasn’t sure about this.
Did you get that confirmed by someone from gw2dungeons.net?

Sounds to me like people are offended because their 12+ hours of practicing ( lol, you kitten serious?) isn’t going to mean they get some eternal hall of fame place.

10g to post a record ey??
Well that means only glory hounding snobs will even bother..

All this just screams elitist exclusive club. For all I know a time beating the all time records has been ignored, simply because it wasn’t set by a preferred speedrunning group.

The corruption this thread has highlighted renders the records kept completely moot in my view.

Have fun rubbing each others egos though. ( 12+ hours.. rofl..)

I don’t think any records have been posted have been ignored except for the 5 Ranger ones that were pretty much meant as a joke. It’d be pretty hard for a record to be missed when the dungeon/fractal guys actual pay attention to those record posts and when people see something hasn’t been approved or commented on in a while, it gets brought up again. The only way if a record is going to get missed is if the submission wasn’t put on here.

There has been some discussion on this thread about it and if you look at both sides of the argument, there is reasons on both sides that are both valid. As I said multiple times in this thread, if we follow the current listed rules, then this needs to be reviewed and approved/denied the same as any other record submission. If the community wants to modify the rules, then that needs to be discussed at the next meeting.

And while your comments concerning the corruption and such has some merit, your scoffing at what it takes to actually get some of these runs down to the times that have been achieved kind of shows that you never have actually attempted a record yourself. Your input concerning the corruption could have been much better received if it was actually put forward as something contributing to the discussion instead of just insults.

Anyways, this is a valid record so it should be approved.

But if this becomes a trend, it’s going to be 10g per submission (directly given to the approver).

Heh that honestly would cut down on the videos submitted that were originally intended to be records and it would compensate the reviewers for their time. Sounds like a Win-Win solution.

To the OP , I don’t think casual runs/daily dungeon tour belong on the leaderboard.

So go and post a more competitive time then if you don’t want casual runs on the leaderboard holy kitten it’s not difficult.

The reason why some are saying that it shouldn’t even be reviewed is because someone does need to go through all the views to make sure that it meets the Restricted ruleset. This does take time especially when these guys are volunteers to review them. It’s not just a matter of posting a better run. The staff on gw2dungeons.net needs to take time to review them and some are saying that if its obvious it wasn’t a record attempt but just a video posted because there isn’t a current meta video then we should be considerate of their time and not waste it.

I understand that but the current rules on gw2dungeons.net don’t have any statements about it. With the current rules, it is set up that any video posted that beats the current time is supposed to be reviewed.

1.) For a record to be valid, the time must be faster than the current record displayed and the record must be accompanied by a video for evidence/proof; one point of view is sufficient.

If there is no current record, then effectively any time posted will beat the current record of nothing.

If in the future, the speed clear community whom collectively came up with the rules wants to address runs such as these that weren’t originally intended for records but were submitted because there is no current record, then we can discuss modifications to the rules. Until that happens though, we should be following the listed rules.

It’s also up to people who are submitting videos to be aware that the volunteer reviewers are exactly that: volunteers. They are donating their time to review videos and we should be courteous to that fact.

In the end, I’m not a part of the rule makers nor in charge of the approval procedure. I’m not the right person to discuss about the rule. Wethospu has voiced his opinion already (and rightfully got ignored, lol). I’m here just to make a comment and I wholeheartedly agree to what Jerus posted above me <3

To OP, good luck and hope to see you again.

I think we’re all pretty much in agreement with the sentiments expressed. I just think that it needs to actually be stated on gw2dungeons if we don’t want people to post random videos for paths that don’t have records yet and basically wasting an approver’s time if it is something that is obviously not going to stand for long once someone actually makes a any kind of record attempt at it.

EDIT: I have nothing against the OP or his group, I just think people need to realize the implications of such a shift in how things are done. If I were one of the people to record these, I’d be saying “kitten it” and just stop caring about any of them.

I agree, and I’ll default to the people in charge to address it (I know I’m a busybody, it’s not like me to do this)

But, I think doubling the time of a previous record after a few minor nerfs is beyond the point of bias, and more in the realm of just plain common sense. If they hit sub 3 mins that’d be one thing, but over double? it’s a different category.

I agree with all your statements. I’m just saying that if we’re going to set up special rules for denying posted attempts on the perception that we think the run would be easily beaten, then a note needs to be said to acknowledge that we have volunteer reviewers who are taking their time to review these things and to be considerate of them by posting runs that you feel are solid record runs.

It’s an issue because if you are just uploading your casual runs as records to fill empty spots after a reset everyone might as well just record their first dungeon tour after a reset and “force” the VOLUNTEER group of people to recognize them.

Can you imagine the floodgates that would open?

Every reset the first team to do their tour uploads it. The next better team does the same, and so on and so on. You end up with a giant workload for again, these VOLUNTEER people to sift through, watching hours and hours of runs because people aren’t taking this seriously anymore, they’re just trying to get their names on the list.

It should be about posting something that the players are proud of and think will be a challenge to beat. Not about posting something to fill a spot and say “well no one else tried so we win!, beat it because we know you can, lols”

It’s not against the rules, it’s just opens up an abuse of these VOLUNTEER people who try to create a system that people can enjoy.

And while I agree that it does end up abusing the volunteers who are taking their own time to go through these videos and review them,, unless a rule is put into place or at least a statement recommending that videos are submitted only if the user feels like it would be a challenging time to beat, there’s nothing currently stated on gw2dungeons.net to prevent it. At the moment, its just the community that has been posting that has been basically only been posting videos of what they feel is a good run. In the case like this where there is no current time, who is going to make the call that follows all the rules and still denies it because of their own judgement that it would be beatable by someone else.

On the flipside, denying this just because the approvers feel like it would be easy to beat means that the approvers may see a record video that a guild submitted and say to themselves, “I think people I know can beat this so I’m not going to bother looking at it when I know other people are working on this record as well and can beat it”. It leads to bias which so far the approvers have done a fairly good job of avoiding.

If we want to avoid this situation in the future, then something needs to be posted to prevent the behavior you’re describing. As it is now with the current rules, there’s no reason to deny it beyond people saying “oh that’s easily beatable”.

There is no current CM p3 Restricted.
If this follows all the rules of the Restricted ruleset, then it should be put in as the current Restricted record until someone else beats it.
If they broke any Restricted rules, then it’ll probably still meet the Unrestricted requirements and would take the record there.

I’m curious. Is this small guild team serious about setting (and fighting for) this record or they just conveniently post their casual run to fill in the empty spot? Because you know, they have an option to submit their record directly on the website if they don’t want to see unfavorable comments.

Why should it matter if they’re “serious” about setting and fighting for this record? There’s no current record which means this would be the current record. All of the paths that don’t have a record posted could feasibly be filled in with whoever wants to post it.
Just because most of the guilds that are actually doing records only post what they feel are solid runs that will be challenging to beat doesn’t mean that teams who just want to post up times because they beat the current record of nothing aren’t allowed to do so. If anything this would get the competitive guys to then go and beat it to regain it.

If this is not approved solely on the basis that we’re not sure if they’re serious about setting and defending it, the only message we’re sending to the rest of the gw2 community is that the speed clear and record community is only going to accept things from specific guilds or players because they’re known for it.
If it’s not approved because something in the ruleset was broken then so be it. At least there’s a previously posted reason why it would be denied and would make sense.

Nothing wrong with the idea of using vines to block the path, it already happens on Lornarr at the Snowblind fractal and there if you are left out you can just interact with the flag and get teleported in.

They do the same with Archdiviner in Cliffside and in Thaumanova.

No reason that they can’t do it with Mossman as well.

Or just give Mossman his underwater skills that he has in lvl 31 fractals.

No, do not contact support. They cannot help you and you’re just taking up a spot in the queue and extending ticket times for those who truly need help. They provide safeguards such as mentioned above so that the player is well educated and well aware of the consequences of deleting a character. Unfortunately they cannot restore items that you’ve purposely deleted (yes, you did purposely delete them when you purposely deleted the character that they were not). I’m sorry, but please don’t waste support’s time. Thank you.

You are wrong. This is a matter for support. I deleted a character that had The Mad kings memory on it(Souldbound) Before the wardrobe was even a thing, i never got the upgraded version. They for sure sent me one though. This is indeed a matter for support. That item had been missing from my account for about a year but they could still see i had it.

It’ll be hit or miss depending on who you get from Support in cases like this. You can always try just don’t absolutely expect a positive outcome.

Every weapon is good in different situations. Shield I can only really think of one use, and that’s in the Molten Facility you can use it to counter the fireballs so your team can just stand there. Outside of that one specific case focus is pretty much hands down better.

So this is a pretty cool trick: If you get hit with the fireball in the air with a invuln/ block skill, there won’t be any ground aoe.

Reflects, Invulns, Blocks, Projectile Nullification all work on it. Just have to block it in the air.

Tired of my group dragging Mossman into the water. Doesn’t matter what group i get, they all wanna glitch. Fix please.

If they insist on doing him underwater it’s likely you would have faced a wipefest/roadblock if they attempted him on land. Your group is that bad and you merely dodged a bullet by glitching it.

You know, sorta how like Lupicus would be without the wall exploit or reflect damage. Fun with a competent group, or an extreme annoyance having to carry PuGs.

I’d like to say as someone who regularly runs fractals and arah with a dedicated group we glitch not because we suck but because its simply easier and faster in the case of lupi. Why try if you can accomplish the same thing in less time or do something more fun (i.e. alt tab on youtube)? But that being said it would be nice if anet fixed anything related to dungeons or fractals, however it wont happen till HoT.

Fighting Mossman normally is faster than fighting it underwater if you know the fight.
If a PUG team is insisting on fighting Mossman underwater, its a pretty good indicator that later bosses like Grawl Shaman or Archdiviner aren’t going to go well.

Here’s what I’m doing with my 41 character slots:
Goals:
1. 1 character of each class of each race of one gender. [Completed except Revenant]. 14 are at level 80. Others are between lvl 21-34 intentionally to farm Silver Doubloons
Fully gear all 40 characters. Full ascended armors and weapons. [11 Ascended Armors/43 Ascended Weapons made]
2. All characters 100% map completion. Working on Charr Ranger. [8 of 45 completed]
3. All characters personal story completed. [1 of 45]
4. All Dungeons unlocked for all characters.

You have 41 too? :O

Yeah I’m working my way through them all in world completion, gearing and leveling. I’m at 10 80’s. One is at 74 and one’s at 50. The rest are between 20-25 (thank goodness for those insta lvl 20 scrolls, right?). I used to have them all parked at the end of the Not So Secret jumping puzzle for the blade shards, but now I have enough to make all 3 versions of the backpiece, I’ve moved them to an ore farming location.

Peronal story is probably the very last thing on my list. When a toon hits ~60 I go through the personal story to “The Battle of Claw Island”, so I get all 3 keys from them. That being said I’ve run Arah story through with about ~4 of my characters. I’m so confident with it now I’ll take an entire group of players who have never done it before and just explain to them what needs to be done and when.

I’m saving 5 of my insta-20 scrolls for the 5 revs I’ll be making. The rest I use on key farming if I can be bothered to do so.

These are my other goals
All Dyes Unlocked. Completed
All Miniatures Unlocked. [LLamas, Mordrem Teragriff, Mordrem Troll, Mordrem Husk, Black Bear Cub remaining]
Full Wardrobe unlocked. 70k gold worth of skins to go. Working on the last 10 legendaries before I go on to the rest. Current progress

Fractal Rewards

My only wish for fractals is to finally get higher levels ANET! Because I could care less about the rng or gold reward lets be honest most people at 50s fractals have all the gold they need and their gear is BIS. What I want with this persistent RNG is the FRACTAL WEAPON BOX! That is the simplest solution to this problem that has been since that ridiculous fractured patch.
I will do my daily fractals 50s/37s but when I get multiple copies of the same skin (7 warhorns) it starts to get past frustration. The fact that leader board hype for fractals was thrown out the window, the terrible reward, the many bugs in fractals has broken lots of regular fractal runners. I know lots of people aren’t bothered by not having a fractal title after getting all the achievements but I am. Some of those achievements are actually hard to do. To be honest I am only missing 4 skins and tonic but at this point, I don’t even know why I even bother. atleast let me salvage these skins for some ectos like before. Its the reason I’m not so hyped for the expansion, because over hyping like in the past years has lead to a lot of dissappointment

Just wondering but why are you runnings 50/37 instead of just 50/40?

Fractal Rewards

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Enko.6123

Enko.6123

While the guaranteed rewards are kind of lacking, you need to look at what has a possibility of dropping.
Chances for ascended weapon and armor boxes which each would normally take 50-60g to make. Yes, a lot of times the stats aren’t useful but you still have a chance for Raider’s for Zerker, Healer’s for Cleric’s, and if they ever add Sinister to Malicious chests, then those will be useful as well.
The bad stat weapons become new weapon unlock skins.
There’s also a chance for a Fractal Tonic.

For guaranteed rewards, a partial solution would be to up the increase in rewards from 1 silver per level to 10 silver per level with a base of 1g. So a lvl 1 completion rewards 1g, a lvl 10 is 2g, and so forth up to a 50 which would then give 6g. Increasing fractal relics would be nice for those of us who need Obby shards or skill points especially since Fractals don’t have the xp rewards like dungeons do. Speaking of which, adding an xp completion reward for each fractal similar to dungeons would be nice as well.
The big fix would be to increase drop rates for ascended boxes, ascended rings, and fractal skins. Adding a Fractal weapon box where we can pick the skin would help out greatly or having a vendor where we could trade in unwanted skins for tokens which could then be traded for a skin of our choice would be nice. Heck, how about just being able to buy fractal weapon skins with fractal relics.

Being able to forge or salvage unwanted ascended items would be nice as well. I currently have around 400 ascended rings that I have no use for except to hold on with the hope they eventually allow us to salvage them for ascended mats or be able to toss them in the forge to re roll them. Ditto for ascended weapon and armor boxes.

Everyone’s looking at this from a gold vs time viewpoint. For everyone that holds up GW1 in such high esteem, compare. People ran UW and FoW for speed and also for the chances to get the rare weapon skins that dropped from there. Those drops didn’t happen that often. The guaranteed drops you got weren’t that great as even Obby Shards and Ectos were RNG but there was no penalty for doing multiple runs a day.

The main difference between UW and FoW is that you could run them as often as you want and people could actually get good at them just from repetition.
If you want full rewards (ie the daily chest), you can’t do that with Fractals which means a lot of people don’t run them often enough to get good at them. KING obviously as a guild does them often enough that they can form runs quickly and do them quickly. My guild is primarily dungeons but for the guildies that actually put the effort into learning Fractals and doing them well, our 50s are around 20-30 minutes as well. 20-30 minutes of time for a chance at a drop that’s worth 50-60g is not that bad plus whatever drops you do happen to get along the way but those are all RNG.

A suggestion I made in a different thread is that if you have done a 50 already that day, you could do another 50 and get the next highest reward tier still available to you. So if you do a 2nd 50, you would get the 40 reward. If you do a 3rd 50, you’d get the 30 reward and so on.
This would actually allow those of us who are interested in FotM be able to do more runs with different groups and possibly get more people up to speed on them so Fractals wouldn’t be the head bashing against wall that so many people see it as.

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Enko.6123

Enko.6123

Know the dungeon.
Know your classes.
Understand that the videos you see of record runs aren’t just a group of 5 people messing around. They were all a result of repeat runs that were reset over and over again whenever a mistake was made.
It takes a lot of ingenuity, time, patience, and work to actually get a record. They’re going to be painful especially if you don’t have 5 people who aren’t on top of everything. If your team can’t do normal speed clears without issues, they’re definitely going to have issues attempting records where you mistakes are unforgiving and every second counts.

If a strategy in theory should work but players are screwing it up, you’ll never know how well it fits in until you can dependably repeat it.

BTW, not all guilds that have records have hard entry requirements. Just most of them.

This restriction should have no effect on items sent through mail. If there is, it’s unintended and most likely a bug.

Testing results:
Mailed an item with no merchant value (Divine Lucky Envelope): unable to pull it out of the mail.
Placed Divine Lucky Envelope in Guild Bank: Was able to withdraw from the guild bank.
Unable to withdraw gold from guild bank.

I’ve found the bug, looking into the issue now.

Going to have to wait for a fix on this one until sometime next week. Items wont dissapear, they just won’t be claimable until the restriction resets or we fix this. This only applies to mail that is sent to someone already at the cap that contains coins and items.

I hit the item restriction, but I didn’t receive any coin since the scheduled start time. As soon as I saw Gaile’s announcement, I moved my guild bank coin into my wallet — that was before the UTC time that her post said the restriction would go into effect (thus also before the Pacific time, too). My evidence that I made it before the deadline: I was able to withdraw additional coin after first moving 500g.

In other words, besides the item restriction, the gold limit counted coin received prior to the scheduled time, perhaps because it’s part of “this week,” i.e. it happened Tuesday, which is part of “this week’s” Sun-Sat.

Obviously, you guys can’t fix that bug, but maybe you can ensure that any future weekly restrictions (guild commendations, coin transfers, crafting gates, etc) go into effect on Sundays. Or if it needs to start mid-week, add code to make sure it doesn’t affect players retroactively.

Just to be clear: even though I’m annoyed by the inconvenience, I don’t consider this a priority; I can work-around the coin limit. I’ll also get over the fact that my trust in the dates in the original announcement made things worse for me.

Concur. That’s really my only gripe about it since I had moved gold prior to this going into effect and I’m stuck until it resets. That’s tomorrow so I can live with it.

I do think this is going to affect guilds that do giveaways, lotteries, and other types of prizes though.

This restriction should have no effect on items sent through mail. If there is, it’s unintended and most likely a bug.

http://i.imgur.com/EEN2wbW.png

Testing results:
Mailed an item with no merchant value (Divine Lucky Envelope): unable to pull it out of the mail.
Placed Divine Lucky Envelope in Guild Bank: Was able to withdraw from the guild bank.
Unable to withdraw gold from guild bank.

My account is capped for this week. Looks like once you’re capped, you can’t accept mail with items or money, unable to withdraw gold from guild banks, but are able to take out items from guild bank.

It’s going to be interesting to figure out how we’re going to distribute weekly lottery prizes or guild tournament prizes now.

Thank you all very much for your great posts.

I’ll re-add my image now that it seems my count is far below what some others are now posting. In the early minutes of creating the thread there was some unwanted attention from the bad kind of forum-goers and it seemed like a better idea to remove my count until more people made their comments showing their amounts.

I’m loving the wide range of numbers (played and salvaged) being shared. Thank you!

Eh not even sure why people would care if you had a higher post or thought you were bragging.

8413 hours over 948 days.
Anyways, adding my age to here since I didn’t put it in my first post.

Repeated 22,862 times so 4,572,400 items salvaged plus 73 from my current counter.

edit: just read the rest of the thread. What was the OP’s count at anyways?

Invisible Fire Fields

It’s a little pixelated. Sorry about that.

You can see a fire field on the ground in the first four seconds of the video. We waited until that field disappeared and moved onto that spot to stack Might. Our Warrior, Guardian, and one of the eles immediately started burning. The other two eles didn’t since we weren’t standing where the field used to be.

It almost looks like the red ring indicating a hostile field and the fire field disappeared but the field persisted. At 0:08, you can see a white circle which is supposed to be a friendly field show up in the same spot where we’re burning.

Don’t know if this is the same problem that the OP had.

Combat log is not visible. I’ll post it tomorrow. We were working on a molten duo record run and all of sudden we were burning then dead. There was a fire field there before, then it disappeared but apparently persisted even after the red ring and the fire field graphics disappeared. Started burning then started dying.

My video quality got all jacked up some reason so its pretty pixelated. Probably since I was streaming earlier and hadn’t reset my pc. You can still see that there’s no fire field where we’re standing though. I’ll see if anybody else was recording which they should have been.

The link in your signature is broken, just fyi. It links to “https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/Random-downed-states-in-fractals-since-patch/www.lodgw2.com

That is really weird. Profile has the link right.

Eh fixed now. That’s weird. Was working on all my other posts.

I would include set up time for these things as well since time was taken to set up the crystals.

Nice trio nonetheless.

Because Rocky is an extremely intelligent tanker that will switch its target to a nearby wolf if you accidentally hit it —- Oh wait, I forgot that those wolves have been conveniently GLITCHED out of their aggro range so that they don’t chase and attack you – for a skillful smooth run!

Let’s see and compare the zerker guard footage with this cleric “shenanigan”, shan’t we? I’m genuinely interested in learning the new tricks to improve my bad guard skill as well. This comes with no sarcasms as I know a handful of people who can pull it off (Robyn for one) in a full group. Not sure about in low manned situations.

Edit: Further clarification of this glitching method will be explained in details by Purple Miku in the following post. This tactic is super helpful for those having troubles dealing with wolves as they can now only focus on killing Mossman alone. Inarguably much better than glitching Mossman under water as you can perform your full DPS rotation on land and achieve faster time.

Summons attack enemies that you have targeted and use an auto attack on. They won’t initially agro if you don’t use a 1 skill. You don’t have to hit the enemy with it. Try summoning one and using a melee attack. It’ll head out to attack your target.

Their AI is kind of weird but once you figure it out, it’s easy to work with.

Hey Enko, the problem always happens when Mossman goes into stealth and Rocky’s aggro resets. He either returns back to me or runs to a random target which coincidentally gets cleaved in my AoE. The reason I prefer Rocky to stay put and close to Mossman at all cost is that Mossman will promptly reveal himself as soon as he can hit a target from stealth. However, if Rocky runs around chasing butterfly then it is more likely that Mossman will teleport to players and gouge them or simply use Dancing Daggers while in stealth.

After I summon Rocky, I usually just stay within range. I haven’t really had an issue with Rocky breaking off of him.

I misspoke earlier. I meant use an auto attack that won’t hit like a melee attack so you can see that Rocky will engage without hitting your target. Using targeted skills will cause him to go after your target. You can target what you want Rocky to engage on and cast ground based AoEs and he won’t switch.

As for Rocky breaking off when Mossman stealths, you’ll just need to target Mossman when he comes out and use a targeted attack to have Rocky re engage. If you’re having a problem with Rocky breaking off to hit the wolves, don’t have the wolves targeted and have your lava fonts and cleave damage hit them.

Guild Upgrade UI not working?

The work around that I did was to cancel the queued upgrades. The stuck upgrade should clear out and then you can start the next one.

I was able to start one new one and use an Asuran Contract to start a second. My guild workshop doesn’t seem to be working so don’t have the normal second slot going now.
