You’re not being at max efficiency, your using “universal sigils” like everyone does because we don’t want to waste spaces/ effort for real max efficiency (10% monster specific, 10% sigil of night). In normal condition, it’s a waste of space in any other situation (already mentioned that it could potentially wasted 20 spaces and 20 ascended crafting). If legendary is able to switch sigil at will, you will outperform all the ordinary people because you totally skip this issue of space management.

There’s one post I agree upon though, that “insert 5 sigils maximum on the legendary to switch around”. It is a much reasonable offer compare to having the ability to switch around 30 sigils.

So you’re arguing that you’ll outperform other people because of space management. Doesn’t that make extra bag slots and 20 slot bags pay to win with your argument then?

We’re not outperforming people if we choose to slot those sigils as those people could easily just prepare beforehand and go to the bank and keep their extra sigils and weapons there. All this does is make it more convenient if someone made a legendary. Statwise everyone is capable of doing that with the current set up. It is not making a sigil and stat swappable legendary any stronger than someone who just uses an ascended and replaces the sigils. They are of equal strength. You’re arguing that somehow compressing your inventory to have more inventory space suddenly makes you overpowered.

If space management equaled overpowered then having 8 bag slots, 8 20 slot bags, a perma merchant, a perma bank access, and a copper fed salvage o matic means you’re now the strongest player in the game since you have the best possible space management available now.

I honestly doubt you’re going to see people making multiple copies of legendaries for different characters just to avoid sigil swaps. If anything, this would be an extra perk for the one copy of that legendary you have and you’re most likely going to have multiple ascended of that type of weapon for your other characters and still swap sigils in and out like we’re doing currently with just overwriting sigils.

The price on legendary weapons are high due to how they’re crafted with amounts of mats that are required. As I said earlier, I doubt this will increase the demand for multiple copies of the same legendary by much since most people will go the much cheaper route of getting an ascended weapon, transmuting the skin, and swapping sigils in and out. For those of us that need to be able to swap weapons quickly because of multiple types in a run or require quick change outs for whatever other reason, multiple ascended weapons is still going to be the way to go since its going to be faster to just double click the weapon with the stats you want vs going through a menu to change a sigil out.

Statwise, legendary and ascended are already the same. The only thing that differentiates them is that legendary can swap stats. For the price difference, that’s not a whole lot.

You do not need to make multiple copies of same legendary to get different sigil combination. All you need to do is make extra ascended and apply your legendary skin through wardrobe, that’s all. Stop justify this feature with the reason of legendary being too expensive because if you just want the skin, it’s in your wardrobe.

You do realize you just agreed with my statement. I was pointing out to someone else previously who said the price of legendaries would skyrocket if they made this change and countering that by saying no one is making multiple legendaries to do that as they would just make an ascended and reskin it which is what we do now. Sug: Scale FOTM Rewards to the Next Available

I’ve had plenty of times in guild where people want to do guild FOTM 50 runs but there’s a lack of interest since others have already done their 50s for the day. This used to not be that much of a problem when the rewards were character bound since you could just go on a different character.

Assuming, you’re lvl 50 already, what if the rewards were tweaked so the first 41-50 you did, you got the FOTM 41-50 reward, then the next 41-50 you did, you got the 31-40 reward, then the next 31-50 you did, you got the 21-30 reward and so on.
Basically, if you did 5 FOTM 50s in a day, you would get the 50 chest on the first run, 40 chest on the second, 30 chest on the third, 20 chest on the fourth, and 10 chest on the fifth.

This will allow people if they want to to do 5 lvl 50s a day instead of the decreasing difficulty ones and more people can do 50s as a group while keeping the rewards that you can get each day to the same as it is now.

This probably is only an issue with dungeon/fractal guilds where there’s enough interest for multiple 50s. I could also see PUG 50s happening more often since people won’t be so neglectful of them if they already did their 50s for the day and could still get a reward for subsequent runs.

Eh its just a matter of convenience just like how stat swapping was supposed to be. Even if they don’t implement this, those of us that want to swap sigils are still going to do it. We’ll just have stacks of sigils with us and multiple ascended weapons to deal with force+slaying, force+night, night+slaying for each weapon set.

It’s not going to make us any stronger than we already are if you want to optimize stuff. Just makes it more convenient and a cost savings over time for not having to buy more sigils all the time.

As I said previously, if you’re doing things like records runs, you’ll still likely have multiple copies of the weapons to swap sigils faster than it would be going through a selection menu.

Have to disagree with this.

The stat swapping utility of a Legendary is already enough of a benefit over a standard Ascended item. This already provides a significant edge over having to craft multiple ascended weapons for multiple builds. Especially when taking account bound into consideration.

Having to purchase/replace sigils to accommodate a build is a pittance compared to having to craft an entire ascended weapon. Also, unless you’re at the tippy-tippy-top of record setting performances, use of rare sigils over exotics would be just fine for frequent build changes (often 1%-3% variance between exotic and rare). Or even taking a loss of maybe 5% performance by not swapping at all is hardly even a material consideration for general use.

And if, for arguments sake, that level of min/max performance is a consideration, having to craft additional ascended weapons – (edit) in addition to already having a legendary – is also a pittance compared to the collaborative armor/runes/trinkets/(edit)infusions which would be necessary as well to achieve that performance.

And yes, this comes from a legendary user.

For the price of 1 legendary, you can craft 30-40 ascended weapons. With all of those ascended, you can have every combination of stats with a big variety of Sigils and builds + you can have weapon of every type and put them on every character so u won’t have to move them around.

To conclude: Even with the Sigil swapping feature, 30-40 ascended are still far more convenient than 1 legendary if u don’t care about the skin.

No, instead of wasting spaces and prepare like 40 weapons for every single situation, sigil swapping’s value is way more than you think. It is convenient, space saving, and extremely useful. If legendary becomes something like that, the price will be at least doubled if not trippled because it becomes a “must have” to everyone.

Even if they did add this, most of the people who are actually swapping things out for different situations especially in the speed clear side are still going to have side weapons because it will flat out be faster to double click one then to go through whatever UI menu that would be used to rotate out sigils while you’re doing a dungeon. I would see probably using a sigil swap on a legendary at the beginning of a dungeon to swap a slayer or changing your legendary to a pvt and useful sigils for Tequatl or something. I wouldn’t see myself using a sigil swap menu while running between mobs.

Stat swapping is pointless without being able to swap your sigils along with them.

I feel that everyone is forgetting that Guild Wars 2 is not about vertical progression. This is the exact reason that Legendary weapons do not offer any advantage in terms of stats over the previous tier, and instead offer horizontal progression in terms of the skin and prestige. The only reason that stat switching is even there is because it is not a reasonable request for players to make a legendary weapon for each set of desired stats. Sigils on the other hand can be overridden and changed for the same cost as any other weapon.

Adding sigil swapping or increased stats only to Legendary weapons would be an example of vertical progression and not something that works with the overall design direction of the game. It would have to be a change made to both Legendary AND Ascended to be considered, and this is not something that is likely to happen.

Personally, I feel that a more reasonable approach would be to make upgrade extractors cheaper, or to enable the removal of sigils for a fixed amount of gold.

How is this an example of vertical progression? Adding stats is, yes. Being able to swap your sigils at will is a matter of convenience. As you already said, stat swapping is there since its not reasonable to make a separate weapon for each. People don’t have to. They can always transmute the skin.
Legendaries need something to set themselves apart from ascended and stat swapping is the only thing there is. Adding sigil swapping to them would give them an extra perk and it wouldn’t be giving them extra abilities or anything.
If you consider sigil swapping to be vertical progression, then you should be considering stat swapping vertical progression as well.

Stat swapping for legendaries is a nice gesture but ultimately useless without being able to swap sigils along with it. It would be extra motivation for people to get a legendary for the convenience factor of having 1 weapon that can swap between stats and sigils at will. Currently, the workaround is to either have multiple ascended weapons with the right sigils or carry around extra sigils and overwrite.

If we ever get legendary armor, I would suggest the same changes where we can change stats and runes at will.

Imbalanced asc armor costs by class

Careful with how you calculate costs. A couple of them, damask in particular, provide a profit to the seller. Including this distorts the cost differences between sets.

Last time I looked into trying to craft or flip Damask, I found out that the returns barely covered the cost for posting it on the trading post, and sometimes I would even go into the red if I attempted it. Despite its high cost, there is simply not a reliably inexpensive way to farm cloth like there is for ore and wood, meaning you are buying gear to salvage or the materials themselves. That, and you need 300 silk cloth to make one Damask, never mind the other materials too, and silk is bloody expensive.

Eh I have it the opposite way. I didn’t have a time efficient and profitable way to get t2-t4 wood while metal, leather, and cloth aren’t a problem. As a result, I had over 900 unrefined globs of elder spirit residue. Now I have a profitable way for wood though not very time efficient so starting to make wood again.

10s take longer to pug since you get a lot of people who don’t do them a lot at that level or know the mechanics. If you go with your normal 50s team, it should be way quite a bit faster or at least the same amount of time.

I do like your suggestion though that your personal reward level could dictate what the daily is. So they get the daily to be whatever tier they are in like if someone is at 50, then they get 41-50 and if someone is 32, then its 31-40, etc.

The Defensive or Offensive Infusion slot can take a +5 AR such as the Versatile infusion that you buy for 75 relics.

The other slot that is added for an infused ascended ring can take the Agony infusions that you combine the +1s from. The max was put out to be +30 AR for an infusion by Anet when it was first released I think. +15 is the highest that someone has posted to the TP so far though.

Fractals give the same amount of influence as dungeons (10 inf for 1-2 guild members, 100 inf for 3-5 guild members).

They do not receive the bonus influence from the 20% dungeon buff which could be understandable since they don’t show up as dungeons on the influence tracker.

They don’t even receive the bonus influence from the 5% influence buff though.

If people want to know how to see your fractal influence, you have to take the total number of activities and influence gained and subtract the number of dungeons, events, gifts, and pvp matches. The remaining amount is from Fractals.

The cap could probably be upped to 250 dust/fragments consumed a day without a huge effect. Removing the cap would just turn mawdrey/the star in to a farming frenzy for ascended mats to feed them. (Mawdrey might get fat too!)

Sometimes I’ve been able to feed mawdrey, and the star, a full stack even if I’ve fed them the day before.

Does it randomise between 4-5 loads of 50? I did notice I could feed a full stack, but it doesn’t seem consistent.

3-5 actually. There’s been days I havent been able to feed it 4 times, despite being the first time I’ve fed it since the last reset.

I’ve gotten 6 a couple of times.

Range for me so far has been 3-6.

Why is silk going up in price?

There’s no reason for silk to take 100 per ascended mat when it’s over 4x the price of other ascended mats.

What? Every other ascended mat only takes 50 things not 100, silk takes 100 for absolutely no reason. It had a reason, silk was useless, that reason isn’t true anymore.

There is a reason. You just havent been playing long enough to know that (granted, I didnt know the reason at first either). The reason that damask takes double the silk to craft is that there was such a glut of silk, that it was gw2’s thick leather sections of today. That massive oversupply was the decisive factor in anet making damask take 100 silk as opposed to 50. Consequently, that decision is half the reason why silk is at the price it is. The other half of the reason being silk/damask a required material for all armors.

Though part of the reason why there was such a massive over supply back then was that there wasn’t a use for Silk. Exotics were the top tier back then so you needed Gossamer so Gossamer was a decent price before. Now that there’s a use for silk and the market has reacted accordingly, it’s possible that they could conform it with the rest but not sure how they would without drastically upsetting that portion of the economy.

If you look at Gossamer prices with Ascended as the Top Tier, Gossamer is relegated to how Silk was back then. Just used to make Exotics to level up crafting and then absolutely no use for it. These things used to be 12s.

It’s not too difficult to get Silk a day and I go through 2100 Scraps a day (make all the Ascended mats on 7 accounts) so I’m ok with any of the suggested changes if they change it back down to 50, make it require 2 for a Bolt, or just leave it as is.

Displaying Influence From Fractals

So it seems like we do get influence from Fractal runs but they are not displayed.

For this hour, two fractals with 5 guildies were completed.
The influence is displaying 10 dungeons for 460 influence, 41 events for 316 influence, and 7 pvp matches for 35 influence. This totals to 58 activites for 811 influence while the Members completed message states 60 activities for 1011 influence so its definitely including the fractals completed and we get the same amount for a full fractal as we do a dungeon path. It just doesn’t get its own message listed.

Would it be possible to have in game mails display account name as well as the character name of the person who sent it? The only way to track down who it came from atm is to add the character name to your friends list and see who pops up. If your friends list is big enough, this can mean adding and then having to remove to verify its the right one.

And I don’t know how you can share the item since monster die in 1 hit with it.

that being said, don’t take my word for it. I tell people not to buy those infinite aether tonic recipe for 1 gold and the sell price is 600 gold now.

They get one shot in areas like the Reliquary because they’re lvl 2 and you’re still 80. In the open world zones, they’re the levels of whatever the zone is and you’re downleveled as well. Tag it once and let other people get their tags in and you can have multiple people getting drops off of it.

The number is currently lower than lvl 40 tier because they only reset 41-50 instead of the entire thing. If you look at total number of chests under 50, its at 127 (at the time of this post).

We chose to only reset the tier that ANet said they changed.
We still got our old sheet and can compare the droprates from the lvl 40/30/20 tier of the new spreadsheet with the old one to see if numbers diverge.

This gives us as accurate data as resetting the sheet completely.
If we after ~200 lvl 40 runs see a trend of diverging droprates compared to the old one, will we reset that tier completely with the input history we have.

Oh I understand why only the stated tier was reset. I would still like to see the raw data if it would be possible.

It was a bit depressing while contributing to the LOD stats, as with many things about Anet and Fractals, their “buffs to drop rates” became apparent to be outright lies. But being a Fractal player, knowing that Anet simply lies about almost every change in Fractals was just just understood to be a fact.

I don’t see why Anet would act like Fractal players are so stupid, since we’re the more likely section of players who are to record stats to verify what they are saying to us about drop rates. It just makes Anet look like amateurs.

BTW, LOD’s sheet was reset due to the change in drop rates so we can see the differences as well. Definite difference in 50s so far. We reset the entire thing so we can see if any stealth changes were made to the other tiers.

Would love to see KING’s raw data for their 3k+ chests.

10-21s are the worst levels to pug which is why the LFG for those levels are usually empty. At those levels, you tend to get people who don’t know the mechanics of the fractals or don’t have the AR so keep dying all the time. Pug groups in those levels end up taking forever to do them. Better to find a guild group to do those levels or just pug 40s and 50s as they tend to go a lot smoother.

Vote kick must exist. Too many people would abuse it by going afk or otherwise being a jerk on purpose. What they need to do is make it majority and require 3 votes. Whoever decided it would only take two probably should have thought about it a little harder xD.

I’m curious if the others in this thread also agree that 3 votes would make the system equally effective (for yes, it seems vote kick must exist, as Woljnir says) but perhaps less arbitrary.

Or would 3 bring a whole new set of challenges?

A system similar to Guild Wars 1 should work pretty well with a party leader who is responsible for inviting and kicking. Team leader should be able to be passed to another if desired.. If the party leader leaves, the second person in the party gets auto-promoted.

Maybe not necessarily 3 votes to kick but majority vote for parties smaller than 5.. Maybe these can be combined so Team Lead change can be forced with a majority vote (leader goes afk, remaining 3 want to invite someone else, etc) or kicks can be forced with a majority vote.

It just takes getting used to know what attacks you must dodge. Be aware of your weapon skills blocks, invulns, dodges (Staff Burning Retreat (evade), Magnetic Aura (reflect), Focus Obsidian Flesh (invuln), Focus Magnetic Wave (Reflect), etc)

A lot of it has to do with coordination with your team as well. D/F is the build that a lot of people are pushing for eles in fractals atm since there’s so many survivability skills on it. I mainly run a zerker staff and stay in melee with my team for the pure dps. Would not recommend melee staff until you get used all of the mechanics for the fractals.

I have two sets of data for the drop rate on these.
First set (prior to change in drop rate of blood, fangs, claws)
538,092 Heavy Moldy Bags opened
495 Giant Eyes. 0.09% drop rate

Second set (after the change in drop rates)
217,036 Heavy Moldy Bags opened
224 Giant Eyes. 0.10% drop rate

They are indeed rare.

It’s not the new ones. It’s the Halloween pets from the first year and were rereleased last year that you can forge to make the Chainsaw one.

Permanent Hair Stylist Contract. Anet stated that it would be available for two weeks following the Feature Pack but its still available now and doesn’t look like they’re taking it out.

How much gems does the contract cost?

Exactly. The contract isn’t part of the Gem Shop proper but an extremely rare drop from a chest.

We’re talking items that are sold directly by at the Gem Shop.

Eh I would still consider it a gem store item since its an extremely rare drop from a black lion chest and the primary source of keys is the gem store or key farming if you’re willing to put a ton of time into it.

The point that is being asked about Mini pet packs being permanent now or not is the same point of the Hair Stylist contract being permanent or not. Anet on the gem store or the patch notes says x item will be available for a limited time and then its changed after that time is up.

Apparently you didn’t read the entire thing. No information was asked for. Do you even know how phishing scams actually work? Phishing scams are predicated on you giving information to another individual. The only thing “Gus” was asking for is an acknowledgement of bad behavior. Please read up on cybersecurity issues before accusing someone of being phished.

Considering that the email address in question is not used for anything else except for GW2, it had an automated ticket number attached, was from support@guildwars2.com, and is not asking for any information (Gus just wants an acknowledgement of bad behavior), I’m disinclined to think its a phishing scam.

Just in case, submitting a support ticket through the site to verify the validity of this email.

Just got the above email. So being someone who posts orders for multiple items and watches items on the TP in case I get outbid now flags me as a bot? Anet may need to adjust its trading bot detection if that’s the case. If Anet bothered to check the rest of the game logs, they would have seen me having conversations in guild chat and in map chat, switching characters to refine stuff, and mailing stuff to my alt accounts.

I do like this part. Sure I’ll agree that automated behavior is against the user agreement, tp bots are damaging to the game economy. and that I’ll stop automating tp activites BECAUSE I HAVE NEVER AUTOMATED TP ACTIVITY.

NA - [Dungeons/Fractals] [LOD] Legion of Doom

Legion of Doom is a dungeon/Fractal centric guild. Unlike many other guilds, we do not have a trial for entry into the guild. Instead the trial is for those would like to be promoted as Veterans in the guild. More information on our ranking system can be found on our Ranks page here.

All players are welcome to join LOD and we are looking for active members that enjoy all aspects of the game from dungeons, Fractals of the Mists, and General PvE. We have weekly scheduled guild missions on Saturdays 30 min after Daily reset.

LOD currently holds two all-time dungeon records (http://gw2dungeons.net/Records) and are currently pursuing more. A typical dungeon tour would consist of all dungeons paths excluding story modes, TA Aether, and SE p2. A typical Fractal tour would consist of FOTM 50, 40, and a 30.

Currently, we are most active in the hours around server reset. We also have a decently strong OCX/SEA and Euro timezone presence.

Guild Repping Policy
Legion of Doom does not require 100% rep but it is highly encouraged when PvEing for forming groups and being involved with the guild. 100% rep is not a requirement as many members are also in WvW or PvP guilds. Continued membership may be an issue if it is seen that someone never reps, plays with other guild members, doesn’t participate in guild events, etc.

Inactivity Policy
Inactive players who have not logged into the game for 30 days will be removed from the roster with a message sent to you.

Voice Communications.
TS3 is our primary tool for communication and socializing as a guild; most guild activities are organized through Teamspeak. As such, TeamSpeak 3 is a requirement.
