I wouldn’t use Transmutation Splitters, that alone would be 1650 gems, not to mention the 6 Transmutation Crystals, I don’t know what armour look you wanna transfer but I very much doubt it’s worth all that.

Wouldn’t need Transmutation Splitters if it was just for the looks. I’m assuming Ascended Armor or Legendary’s personally, otherwise I don’t see why anyone would bother in the first place.

Do people still level cooking to power-level?

in Crafting

Posted by: Esmee.1067

Esmee.1067

The facts (from experience and wiki.)
Since Ascended Crafting every craft gives 7 levels (down from 10) between 0-400 and 3 between 400-500 (even if it’s not available, e.g. cooking/jewelry) and the crafting booster doesn’t increase character experience, only crafting experience (in other words, less material is needed to max the craft.) The character- experience you can per level increases the higher the craft is, so I recommend going all the way to 400 for any craft.

Personally I level Jewelry, Artificing and Cooking on every toon I level(ed) so far since I can gain gold faster (on my 80s) than I can gain the levels, and I just don’t enjoy leveling much. The level on which you do it doesn’t really matter but things to consider are:
Early levels – You like having all utilities/elites available aswell as some early traits. Or you want to start dungeoning asap.
Mid-levels – Gap in the Personal Story you’d like to have filled.
Last-levels – Gear suddently starts to matter in the Orr regions and you can’t be bothered updating/you just want to be 80 already.

Legendary crafting: best way to get mats

You’re not selling the dungeon running too well Xallever, there’s quite a bit of money in the drops aswell.

As for the OP, farming gold is generally better than farming the materials for anything due to RNG. Champtrains are likely the most common place for the materials to actually drop aswell as being relatively rewarding, but I’d prioritize something you enjoy or atleast mix it up. (Dungeons/Nodefarm/World-bosses, yes I read you loathe Dungeons, just for the next reader.)

Another possibility, trade Laurels for crafting bags (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Heavy_Crafting_Bag) however only do this if you never plan on doing Fractals/going for Ascended gear (trinkets mainly.) Time-gates are painful.

What do you do with rare armor?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Esmee.1067

Esmee.1067

Rare gear, level 68 and higher, can be salvaged to get mats, runes/sigils and/or ectos. I check the prices of the gear on the trading post and compare it to the price of ectos. If it sells close to the price of an ecto I sell it directly, otherwise I salvage it. I personally sell it when it’s about 90% of the value of an ecto but I’ve never done the math to justify that selling point. To salvage rares I always use either a masters or mystic salvage kit.

From: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ectoplasm
“Kit quality: higher quality kits produce ecto at a higher rate. Controlled tests estimate that Master’s and Mystic Salvage Kits yield 0.875 ecto/rare and Black Lion Salvage Kits about 1.25 ecto/rare”
So your selling-point seems justified to me (assuming Master Salvage Kits are used.)

I’d like to add that for rares I’d recommend sticking to a Master Salvage Kit and save your Black Lion Salvage Kits (assuming you’re not swimming in them) for when an exotic with an expensive rune/sigil drops for a 100% guaranteed return on the rune/sigil with any materials being a sweet bonus.

I’d like to start with saying I agree with everyone saying it’s ridicilous you’re complaining you can’t afford some extremely rare skin. Now let’s see how we can make your ‘casual’ life a bit more bareable:

1. Trade your Laurels for crafting bags (only do this if you never intend on doing fractals)
2. Sell the materials you don’t need, don’t hoard them.
3. Do the occasional farm for money when you really want more money.

People that spend more time in a game will always be able to afford more than those who don’t. MMO’s will always have RNG because if everyone would get the same rewards, no-one had something to trade or hunt after. Anet should never want people to obtain gold too easy due to their gem-gold, gold-gem conversion. Anet is a company with the goal to make money, not a charity.

1. Transmute your gear with white gear (any level) to make it account-bound (keep stats of the white gear, looks of the current gear.)
2. Move it to your new toon
3. Use a transmutation splitter.

If no-one can confirm if it works of give a different sollution please test this before doing it with your precious gear.

Ranged DPS for PvE?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Esmee.1067

Esmee.1067

Any class can play Ranged and for no class it’s optimal, except Engineer and in group situations it’s still best to stick closer to the group for buffs. So pick a class you actually enjoy.

If you plan on open-world PvE only I’d recommend Ranger because your pet can make sure enemies stay at range. If you plan on teamplay I’d recommend Elementalist or Engineer since they’re not much weaker at range than melee, unlike most other classes.

The ranged options for any class how I’d recommend them:
Elementalist – Staff – You stay in Fire and spam 2 on recharge and fill with 1 and 5. It’s one of their highest DPS-options aswell (assuming you use damage modifiers and stay close range, but at full range it’s still strong.)
Mesmer – Greatsword(/Staff) – The longer range the better. Your phantasm cripples, making it easier to keep at range. Go a Shatterheavy build because your AoE will be miserable and your phantasm is far from the strongest.
Necromancer – Scepter(/Dagger) + Staff – Marks on staff for AoE and Scepter(/Dagger) is a wonderful Condition weapon (note: in groups the bleed cap will hurt)

Engineer – Grenadekit – Spam 1-2-3-4-5 as they come of recharge and make sure you trait it for increased damage (Grenadenier especially)
Ranger – Shortbow/Longbow – Longbow has good burst with 2-5 and strong damage if at full range, you can swap to shortbow when enemies get near/auto-attack spam.
Thief – Pistol(/Pistol/Dagger) + Shortbow – Compared to their other sets Pistol/any is rather weak and the Shortbow is only really good for movement and AoE. Pistol/Dagger makes it very easy to stay at range with 3 being a high damage distance-maker and 4 a tiny cripple and it compensates for the lack of AoE you’d have with Pistol/Pistol.

Guardian – Scepter/any – Scepter is your only real range option with 1200 range (the Staff only has 600) Trait for increased Scepter damage and more damage whilst under the effect of Aegis (20%!) since at range you shouldn’t get hit anyway.
Warrior – Rifle or Longbow – Longbow has some AoE and a firefield, aswell as immobilize and a blast-finisher. Rifle is the slightly higher damage no utility option.

Like bOgz said, it’s a PvE reward for a PvP tournement, that’s the only thing I find odd. Being the top 5 players in a PvP-tournement deserves something more unique and more PvP-like such as GW1 had gold/silver/bronze. I just find it lazy that they didn’t make an unique reward.

I hope the winners are happy with the Legendary or gold nonetheless and an early congratulations from me!

Ferocity: A Failed "Solution"

You still want a team of full berserkers. People will just be more selective and kick more often for errors/ways of play zerk that used to be minor or irrelevant. Most of the player base (pugs, casuals) get hit hard.

Let them kick then.
berserk gear needed a change to break up this horribly boring PvE and even tho there will still be zealous elfs who refuse to accept that other things than pure zerker works they’ll end up being a minority.

I still wonder why you’d bring a cleric support if a berserker can do the job with aegis/blinds/condi cleanse, whilst the berserker kills faster aswell. I still don’t see why anyone would go Knights/Soldier’s if fractal bosses will still 1 or 2-shot them just like the berserker, whilst berserker kills faster. So I’m skeptical about how it allows more diversity in your groups and an overall friendlier envoirment towards people not running meta…

It’s the mechanics that need to be adjusted rather than the builds, but that leads to Trinity. Though goodjob to them if they scaled down all DPS-orientated gear the way they want to.

guardian vs elementalist

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Esmee.1067

Esmee.1067

In a balanced group most classes (definitly those mentioned by the OP) will perform equally on the DPS they deal, but are set apart in a solo envoirment and playstyle:

Elementalist: Squishy (Low HP and Armor,) high Might/Fury → high DPS if alone. Special mention: Fiercy Greatsword vs a wall is most likely the highest DPS in-game.
Guardian: Less Squishy (low HP, high Armor,) and very survivable alone due to Reflects/Aegis/Blind/Condi Removal (which you provide for the whole group, making you one of the squishier people in the team.)
Special mention: Staff 1 + F1 make Open-world tagging extremely easy.
Warrior: Bulky (high HP, high Armor,) high DPS-support through might/fury/banners → High DPS and High survivability when alone.

The OP seems to be talking about Openworld farming rather than Dungeons in which I’d say Guardian is what he’s looking for, though anything else works. . For Dungeons, anything else, though Warrior is what you’re looking for is you dislike being squishy. Thank you Slither Shade.4782 for the translation of the OP

New Traits/Trait System, impact on dungeons.

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Esmee.1067

Esmee.1067

For Leveling toons:
They might be less welcome since people expect them to not have the needed traits unlocked with the new trait-system. How-ever there’s already a mindset that people either love helping lower levels or those who refuse to have any of them in their party. In short; They’re already in a worse position than 80s, I don’t think it getting a bit worse will impact much.

For PuGs:
I think the ability to respec, for free, anywhere you like is a great move for PuGs in dungeons. Many builds that are fun and good to play in PuGs can too easily override eachother, like:

- High Might/Vulnerability stacking builds, think Engineer, Necromancer and Elementalist, who can now easily respec to a higher DPS with less buffs options if needed.
- Permanent Buff maintaining builds such as Guardian Hammer with permanent Protection and Elementalist with Persisiting Flames for permanent Fury.
- Non-stacking trait-buffs such as Empower Allies and Spotter.

For SC/Orginized Groups
Very little to no change. The new traits might prove useful enough to adjust the new meta-builds, especially with the incoming zerker changes aswell. But within a day to a week or so we’ll have our new metabuilds and the teams will make sure they reach those valuable Might/Vulnerability stacks and perma Fury/Swiftness (for running) and everything will be back to how it always has been.

As a Pugger, I’m quite pleased.

The Hounds of Balthazar aren’t bad DPS and Guardians don’t have much alternative options when Renewed Focus isn’t needed. So I think there’re must have been another reason for kicking you, either they’re grievers, wanted to give your spot away or it was ‘the last drop’ assuming you pulled more things they didn’t like. It’s a kittenty reason eitherway to kick a pug and I’d say try to forget it and move on.

Can anyone explain the term "explorable"?

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Esmee.1067

Esmee.1067

The reason (story-wise) you go to the dungeon is the information you receive about the Destiny’s Edge members going on a certain quest. You help them do their quest and figure out their problems and leave the Dungeon behind (Story-mode) and later you can come back to explore the place after your story there is done, which usually involve some 1-time NPCs clearing up the mess we made, hence Explorable-mode.

Magic find and fine crafting materials

Esmee.1067

I would like to open this question again because MF really depends on DPS and it is not fair for all support classes.
I know somebody, who has a warrior with over 150 MF and finds a lot of exo items and another my friends plays with a necro (support), also over 150 MF, and finds just green and blue items, sometimes yellow and once per month or two, one exo item.
So Anet, please change it so it is fair to everybody. Not just somebody.

The DPS doesn’t affect anything except whether you tag a mob or not and a Necromancer, even supporty build, has plenty of options to tag (just like any class though some more than others.) Magic Find is a factor, but luck still plays a role. I have friends with 100% less Magic Find consistently getting better drops than me as PTV and defensive builds opposed to me as Zerker.

No game including RNG will be ‘fair to everybody’ it’s just impossible.

How-ever you can also chose to do 450-475 by refining the Ascended Materials and selling those for a small profit. The downside is that those materials are time-gated (you can make 1 per kind per day) making it a slow progress. This means the 450-500 bit you can get away with crafting a few armors less.

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Asura_heavy_armor

If you care for my opinion: They look amazing. I love how quick they look due to their small size (just like a Norn looks sluggish since all races move just as fast) something I adore. A lot of their animations are either a hit or miss, for me they were a big hit. I love how they jump on their staff during a cast and (besides blurred frenzy) I like all animations I’ve seen on them so far aswell. Like Lilith said, their Legendary footsteps stay big, so don’t worry about those, how-ever all weapons will look smaller, you might want to go for the clearly visiable stuff if it’s important to you people see the skins you’re wearing.

I’d recommend Guardian due to being able to enjoy more of their animations, though an Engineer throwing grenades and placing bombs whilst moving about quickly is also priceless. Thief Asura wouldn’t be my thing since they are a bit more plain on animations, most weaponsets require little use of different skills to be effiecient (like dagger/dagger and sword/pistol are mainly 1 and 5) which means you won’t get the most out of the animations I love so much.

Project on Economy for MMO Design Class

  1. How long after you created your first character did it take to make 100gold?
  2. How often do you knowingly spend over 100gold in a day?
  3. After you earned your first 100gold what is the least amount of gold you have had, and how fast did it get that low?
  4. About how much do you think you spend that leaves the system and doesn’t just move money to different hands? (Gold to Gems, NPC vendors, etc.)[/quote]

Short version:
1. 2 Weeks
2. Once a week
3. 50g, course of a 8 days.
4. Gold to Gems ~60g a week, other expenses 5g more or less.

Goodluck with your project!

Longer version:
1. Friends donated money to let me craft to 30-35, leveled quickly through dungeons and paid them back in a matter of days, rest I spend trying all bits of the game they recommended (more Dungeons, Fractals, Worldbosses etc.) without them it’d have taken me a lot longer.
2. I don’t spend anything most days (except salvage kits and the like) and spend the time playing, when I have time left-over or see something I like I get it instantly from the money I made the days before. Will likely stop doing this as regular once my toons have the looks I want.
3. I’m temporarily on a connection that doesn’t support gaming much, so any time online I deperately attempt the daily and spend the rest of the time spending. I usually try to stay at 200g ‘just in case’
4. Over the past 8 weeks I traded about 60g for Gems/week, but I got everything I want after March-sales most likely so that will stop. The other expenses is a guess, the usual; Salvage kits, Gathering tools, Repaircosts. Also everything I buy I soulbind (~100-200g/week) but not sure that counts.

Read the post right above me!

This, a 100x this. If someone asks for an easy class for any reason, you don’t recommend the more difficult classes because it will make him a better player. People should challange themselves, yes, but not way outside of their comfort-zone, baby-steps are just fine and more enjoyable for a majority of people. I like how you used the example of a chronic pain-patient, I’m also a chronic pain patient, I chose not to play as casual, but when I pug some daily dungeons, it’s nice to play Warrior, Guardian or Mesmer once in a while if the painlevels are bad instead of my fav; Elementalist.

The times I’ve seen people give up on games since they tried to learn the mechanics of the game on a class that was visually/style-wise appealing to them but too difficult to do anything, it’s countless, neither is it nice for the teams they join, a Warrior struggling with survivability will be more useful than say an Elementalist with the same difficulties. Rolling X-class now, doesn’t mean you’ll never try another class when you get more experienced with the game.

No dungeons for lower Lv characters

Posted by: Esmee.1067

Esmee.1067

Not much Anet can do, overall the downscaling isn’t too bad and I see plenty of groups taking lower levels. On top of that I’ve only once seen someone say no to someone politely asking if he could relog in the end (either at 50% of the bosses HP or after the kill with someone watching the cutscane.) I don’t count cases where the opener asked this since this would benefit no-one and he should have let someone else open.

Working with a problem/inconvenience always beats hopeing someone will fix it. Even if Anet makes ‘low-level’ dungeons there’re 2 ways it can go; the current dungeon content, or they’ll be deserted since the amount of 80s is bigger than numbers in a certain level-range.

TL;DR:
- Make your own groups, recommend to welcome anyone rather than demand 80s.
- Join groups that welcome anyone, regardless of level/gear.
- Join a guild that takes lower-levels in their runs.
- Asks friends to come along.
- Ask if you can relog in the end, don’t open the dungeon and relog at the last boss (low percentage hp or during the video.)

I’d like to add an extra vote to Warrior and a downvote to Guardian for teamplay:

Warrior has a high HP-pool, High Armor, on top of that Healing Signet provides quite good healing which you’ll never have to look at. How-ever, most importantly the team won’t rely on you using certain skills (such as reflects or condition removal like the Guardian) at a certain time.

In groupplay people often count on the Guardian to do certain things that change per fight, such as Condition Removal, Aegis, Blinds, Reflects, Stability. It’s not a class I’d recommend when you’re unfamiliar with the fights and mechanics that occur in teamplay because people will count on you to keep them alive to a certain extend.

For soloplay / Openworld-PvE you can’t easily go wrong. Ranger (due to having a pet that can take the heat of you) Necromancer (high base-HP along with Death Shroud providing an additional healthbar) Warrior (see reasons I mentioned in teamplay) and Guardian (heavy armor, quite a few weapons have blinds and aegis is automaticly applied to yourself) will provide easier than Engineer, Thief, Mesmer and Elementalist.

Leatherworker for the cheapest road to the backpiece. Elonian Leather Square (the material that depends on the craft) is currently around 4g40s/each (http://www.gw2spidy.com/recipe/7307) Leatherworker makes Ascended Armor for Medium Armor-users (Thief, Ranger, Engineer)

How-ever Armorsmith isn’t much more expensive with Deldrimor Steel Ingot of 5g 60s/each (http://www.gw2spidy.com/recipe/7313) and they take a similar price to level to 500 (http://www.gw2crafts.net/total.html) Armorsmith makes Ascended Armor for Heavy Armor users (Warrior and Guardian)

Tailor is a no-no due to the expensive price of Bolt of Damask of 12g 50s/each (http://www.gw2spidy.com/recipe/7309) and should only be considered if you’re absolutely certain you want to craft Ascended Light Armor (used by Elementalist, Mesmers and Necromancers.)

TL;DR/Conclusion: Leatherworking is the cheapest option overall. Armorsmith isn’t far behind so should be considered if your main is a Warrior or Guardian

10 euro to change your toons name is a perfectly normal price in MMO’s, nor is it that much, as a bonus you get the option to buy it with ingame gold! In a different game I had people willing to pay me to change my name (x amount ingame money,) obviously donate the name-change of 10 euros and then spend another 10 euros to change their own. (I assume.) That’s how much I know some people are willing to spend.

The only valid reason I see to change the price would be the Charr Lore since they change their name to fit their Warband.

Convenience items I’d definitly pay for (and a lot more) if they’d be available for all my characters where-as currently I wouldn’t buy them at all since I play 8 characters on a regular basis. Mainly thinking along the lines of the gathering tools and bag slots.

Armors and Weaponskins how-ever, I think it would be a bad descision. 10 euros for a full armorset is far from bad, especially in a game with little vertical progression. I’ve purchased certain sets multiple times just to get some bits and pieces from it for mix-matching armor and bought plenty of Transmutation Crystals to look the way I want to look. If there’re more people like me it’s a wonderful market.

So I definitly wouldn’t go as far as calling the gemstone worthless, I might avoid certain purchases but I still bought plenty. And those I avoid, someone with 1 toon likely gets for completionist reason, where-as (s)he will be less likely to spend as much as I do on skins.

I love my Guardian aswell. I started with a Necromancer, big mistake. Then rolled a Warrior, another big mistake. Then I made a Mesmer since it looked like I always dreamed gw1 Mesmer’s would look like, loved it. Thief somewhere along the run since I heard they were really challanging to play and I wanted to scout a bit more, loved her, but hardly take her out anymore, they feel so selfish. Leveled my Guardian just to have something to do, fell in love with her completely, quite unexpected since they had the W/Mo image in my head and so many people play them so inefficiently I never saw how amazing they could be; she did all the things I loved about Mesmer and more (which I love, not claiming she’s better at all) and made her my Fractal-main. Rolled an Elementalist because I really felt my friends groups could use one. Same as Guardian, the hearts are flying around the character that’s how much I love her. Since then I rolled a Ranger, didn’t love it (don’t hate it either) and an Engineer, which not to my surprise, wasn’t my thing at all.

So yay Guardians, absolutely adore them. The way your defense can be your teams defense (through Aegis, Blinds, Condition Removal, Stability being party-wide) nothing I do feels selfish (I use Shield of Wrath whilst rezzing so even that doens’t feel selfish.) Whilst tearing through things as a beast.

Tbh in 2 weeks they added quite a bit I’d buy: Kashmeer Staff, Magitech Armor, Phoenix Armor, Braham Armor, Rox’s Quiver and Transmutation Crystals (stocked up an extra 50.) Surely I missed Kashmeer’s Staff since my modem broke and I already had the Phoenix armor so didn’t buy a second, they did attract my attention.

Still hoping for: Phalanx Armor, Majory Weapons (likely getting 2 daggers, maybe an axe) Mask of the Wanderer, Character slot and if I wasn’t low on gold (assuming everything I want goes on sale eventually) I’d have gotten the Black Lion Keys because they were really cheap. Depending on my gold by the time things go on sale I can see other things catch my eye such as bank-tabs.

Sadly I’m quite guilty of being stingy in real life, otherwise I’d be an amazing customer.

Freaking CHAMPS man

Like Order of Venvardis said, Living Story is there for 2 weeks until it changes, so it’s build for massive amount of people, where-as the Frostforge champs were just a bonus for people leveling together who wanted to take on a stronger opponent. With their drops improved people just decided to farm them (partly because it’s so easy.)

Prime Hologram chest troll

Chest bugged out on me the first 3 times, but I’ve also had it spawn properly about 40 times and only greens to show for it aswell. RNG is RNG, if you can’t take it farm something with consistent rewards (dungeons/champ-trains/powertrading/node-runs/woldbosses) and buy the things you like, still includes some RNG in most cases, but it’s not like waiting for the jackpot to land on your lottery ticket.

I’ve attempted it a few times at my parents over the past few days and I keep getting thrown out somewhere around the end (sometimes knights, but usually last phase of the hologram-fight) this is hopefully the fault of my parents connection and thus temporarily (6 MB upload/download my kitten.) So I think my chances are done for this Living Story

Guildwarsguru.com is also quite a helpful tool if you’re looking to mass buy/sell something or looking for something specific that’s difficult to find. I can’t believe it’s still active, especially in trades that aren’t HoM related.

Kiting

in Players Helping Players

Since some classes can fight at 1500 range I’m quite sure that’s a safe distance, providing quite some room to kite. Nonetheless always kite in a circle as mentioned above, some foes seem to pull way further than 1500 but not all.

As for the leveling:
If Dagger/Dagger is your weapons of choice I’d recommend using Death Blossom (3) on mobs more, whist using Death Blossom you’re evading and it tends to deal enough damage to kill (or apply enough bleeds to kill) all the weaker mobs leaving only the Veteran standing before you run out of initiative. Spec in Catrops on Dodge (trickery, 10 points) to mix in some dodges for more bleeds/cripple whilst evading. This is no way to play at 80, but it made leveling a breeze for my leveling-playstyle (aggro a lot…)

Other useful things are keeping a Ranged Weapon-option in your second set to get away and start kiting when you’re taking too much damage. My preferred option would be the Shortbow, 3 is an escape, 5 is wonderful mobility where-as the rest is AoE. AoE is just wonderful in Open-World. Pistol/Dagger is good aswell, but sadly single target. Pistol/Dagger 3 makes a wonderful escape whilst you auto-attack from pistol, dagger 4 can provide some AoE and cripple.

Lastly more a general leveling tip, minor runes on the trading post are only a few copper can you can buy differently named ones to provide an easy +10 to any stat (I’d go for Power, death foes can’t kill you, but Toughness/Vitality is fine aswell) if you’re struggling or want an easier time.

Best party composition for each dungeon

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Esmee.1067

Like the 2 people above me I’d also recommend trying out meta-builds again. When I was a fresh level 80 on my Guardian I struggled a bit aswell, but once you learn how to play well with your Blinds, Aegis and Utilities you’ll be an amazing asset to any team in need of a Guardian. I found Hammer + GS easier to get used to (since camping Hammer is easy if I felt I needed to focus on the boss) and (near-)perma protection is wonderful, from there on S/F + GS will only be easier since Shield of Wrath is so strong.

To be fair, if you won’t play meta (which has become meta for a reason) there’s no need to look at the perfect team-composition, might aswell take what your guildies enjoy class-wise and try to build them around high DPS team with the needed utility (so 25 vul, 25 might and perma fury, with the possibility to take Stability/anti-Projectile if needed)

You will only need a perfect teamcomposition if you’re aiming for speedclearing(records,) which I can tell you right now, you won’t get by running AH.

Besides the daily CoE runs Wanze advised I’d say Dwanya and Lyssa events are worth it aswell. They drop a guaranteed core/lodestone I think. I always tend to get a charged core, but don’t do it enough to be sure it’s always charged.

Biased, but I agree any exotic armorset (or weapons, or trinkets) should not be behind a time-gate. OIIIIIO you’re a very kind person to offer mining-trips for NA-players!

My Engineer is luckily the only toon I see Celestial being a worthwhile option for due to the high amount of conditions mixed with power-damage. Rushed to 80 with the latest LS (backpiece achievement, zzz) and has been parked at the Centaur Place of Power ever since, the poor thing. 16 more days to go! I’m just lucky she’s my 8th alt, I can be patient.

Simple matter of look before you buy.

The Spinal Blades are well designed as in being a reward available for almost anyone, but upgrading it depends on the people’s level/needs/resources. kitten expensive Ascended Backpiece though (not that any of them are cheap.)

Valkyrie armor for elementalists?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Esmee.1067

Esmee.1067

I’d be careful with Valkyrie, as Elementalist your critical chance isn’t quite high enough to avoid Precision completely.

My recommendation:
Berserker Trinkets, simply a must due to how much % critical chance they give.
Berserker Weapons, same reason as Trinkets.
Mixture of Knights (Toughness, Power, Precision) and/or Soldier (Power, Toughness, Vitality) and/or Berserker’s to your liking. If you chose to keep any Berserker pieces in your gear prioritize Shoulders, Gloves, Boots, once again due to the percentage they give.

This can change during the ‘Berserker-nerf’ how-ever (just saying) and as you can notice I prefer Toughness over Vitality since I feel it syncs more with any healing you might receive, but I don’t know if it’s actually better.

Goodluck and enjoy playing your Elementalist, they’re such fun!
