well blind field got buffed now since you can’t clear blinds with AA and the thief has complete advantage when he’s in the blind field so it actually doesn’t make sense why you would run straight to your grave, so i dont know if its a good idea to go in to the middle of the blind field anymore…not that it was always such a good idea anyways.
Sure, you can have your 1200’ range weapon as soon as they take away that ridiculous 1500’ steal teleport trait.

lotus poison nerf was really uncalled for. thief had basically no utility for PvE, and now it really has none.

Depends on who gets the jump on who. If you get the jump on it, then you could do it. If the rabbit catches you by suprise, oh boy you’re in for a world of hurt.
well this build is basically using all of our overpowered abilities at the same time, so it stands to reason it’s OP as hell. if i wasn’t a thief I’d be trying to get it nerfed, all of it!

i see it as a nerf to glass cannon builds. shortbow made glass thieves both good at roaming and decent in zergs. The new improvement in death blossom and signet of malice seems aimed at encouraging thieves to play tankier builds. with the new changes to steal (max 1500 range) thieves can now steal to a group and spam death blossom, doing some solid damage on a tanky build.
Also the new buff to shadow trap (or whatever it’s called?) gives thieves an escape button for tricky situations.

You can’t shoot at anything on a wall with P/P, it just says obstructed all over. Which makes no sense whatsoever, who would miss with a gun in real life when on a wall shooting at enemies so close? What the hell is obstructing me? I have a very clear view of all the enemies. At least cluster bomb can hit something, with its pathetic 900 range…

IA never broke immob. it just allowed you to teleport while still immobilized. The reason you didnt move, was most likely because the shadowstep pathing failed, as it does constantly ever since they “fixed” it in the last two patches
i’ve never had that happen BEFORE this patch.
i only saw infiltrator arrow no longer breaks immobilize
I hope it’s not true, but first time this happened to me just now… basically infiltrator arrow was really good for breaking immobilize when running away. When I tried to use it just now I didn’t move at all.

Yeah, Lotus Poison got hit friggin’ hard, even with the Weakness buff.
Do NPCs even have that many crits though? I wouldn’t think the buff would do much in PvE.
Yea apparently mobs also can crit. And apparently bosses crit more. So far it feels like there are hell of a lot more glancing blows.
with S/D.
It feels REALLY solid. I can basically just stand there and trade blows with mobs now and 50% of all hits are glancing. Really think sword didn’t get nerfed that badly if any this patch.
Shortbow is a different story….really struggling to see what group utility I can bring now with lotus poison nerf.
how did blind change?
the blind change is that you can’t swing at nothing to get rid of blind anymore, you have to actually hit someone and miss to get rid of it. thats my understanding.
apparently warriors are kitten ed about this.
Just wondering…since they changed blind a little bit. I noticed warriors complaining about how op it is haha.
P/P actually did get a big buff in this patch. Since if you blind your enemies they can’t just swing at nothing to get rid of it anymore, they have to get close to you….and if you’re ranged and engage melee you get to kite them xD

It really doesn’t make any sense. The thief offered close to no utility for siege warfare and zerg vs zerg and now that will become completely none. Thief was also hurting for a 1200 range weapon set for PvE, and now it won’t even have its only 1200 range skill…
This combined with the trickshot nerf, previous cluster bomb nerf, poison field lotus poison nerf and infiltrator arrow nerf (can’t teleport to places you once could) really made the shortbow into a toybow. It also makes it so that every single ability on the shortbow has been nerfed at least once, except for evade shot.
i don’t really understand the huge nerf on lotus poison. they could’ve nerfed it to 2s duration even and it would still be better than this.
i think it’s an underserved nerf. now we have to slot a stun breaker??
what about the longbow buff? Doesn’t that count for anything?

BeserkerThis has been my build since before the nerf (S/P & SB). All I had to do was change Thrill of the Crime to Bountiful Thief and Hastened Replenishment to Sleight of Hand. My Mesmer and Elementalist got totally kitten d by this update, however…

BM build was really solid last patch.
this build got nerfed like crazy in the recent patch. is it even viable anymore? infiltrator return no longer stun breaks.
they are killing shortbow slowly but they are doing it. trick shot. 2nd cluster bomb nerf. IA useless. 4 now half as useful bc of weakness nerf.
yea they’re gonna nerf evade shot next.
btw d/p is always better for roaming. you NEED stealth in wvw or any 3 player scan just come kill you right quick.
well after these nerfs, D/P is definately better. ANET just loves pigeonholing all thieves into perma-stealth builds and then nerf perma stealth when everyone is using it.
yea shortbow nerf is probably the one nerf most people will feel most. shortbow is really good in group play. cluster bomb 1200 range was really awesome. shame it had to be nerfed.
well the cluster bomb significance was always in siege warfare. siege doesn’t regenerate.
it’s a huge nerf.
lotus poison and cluster bomb range nerf is a huge blow to PvE and WvW thieves. our little group utility is shrinking still.
Even though S/D thieves aren’t OP, ANET still nerfed them by this much….
yea the other thing is they doubled weakness proc chance versus leaked so weakness is a lot more useable against berserker builds now.
still doesn’t justify all the other nerfs we got. but it’s somewhat tolerable now.
how does weakness work worse than before? it’s a LOT better, it’s really a good buff for us.
It procs half the times than before. The change they made is how it was supposed to work from the very beginning as it made no sense that an atribute distribution would negate a condition by itself.
Lotus Poison nerf (specially such a brutal and weird per target nerf) was completly uncalled and unnecesary.
no it was buffed compared to leaked. check it again
Weakness: Changed from 50% fumble on regular attacks to 50% fumble on all attacks. Now only stacks up to 5 times (still stacks duration).
If that is true the it’s working as intended.
Absolute zero need to put a freaking 20 seconds cooldown on Lotus Poison.
it’s a D/D D/P nerf. it doesn’t really affect S/P S/D. It doesn’t really affect shortbow since shortbow still has #4 into #2.
4 + 2 means wasting your useful combo finishers in your own fields. I’ve been trying the nerfed 4 now and it’s worthless without the weakness. I can no longer help my team mitigating damage with it.
Btw: Mesmer got 5 Torment on a 12 seconds cooldown weapon skill, we got 3 Torment on a 45 seconds utility skill… yay!! And there are people crying for our access to Torment!!
Body Shot instead of that ABSOLUTE MATHEMATICAL GARBAGE that is 10 vuln on 3 seconds cooldown should have got 2 torment aplications and zero weakness and the skill would’ve been fixed.
Skale Venom is still really bad, the number of charges needs to increase for it to be effective.
i don’t see how it’s useless. i mean with the buff to weakness, they said they were gonna make it not as accessible. you don’t blast finish in your own field but you blast in your party’s fields?? Why aren’t they stacked in the same place ?

if u stack more than 1 field in the same place only 1 gets used. one will overide the others :P

Entirely was a wrong wording, but agree that it rly is almost the same. They probably tweaked a bit after the patch notes were leaked.
